Jarrod, I jus bought a 5 Pro AMD with 3070ti and have found out that these AMD pro versions don't have Advanced Optimus included. Can you do a video on if this impacts performance and battery life? There are lots of people on the Lenovo forums who have complained about the feature being listed in the specs, but not available on the machine.

I always find myself coming back and buying from the Legion lineup. I prefer the look they bring to their gaming laptops and are always top of the line in terms of performance. They know that the midrange laptops are the real money makers and take care of their customers with fantastic price to performance. While recently other companies have caught on and are now following the same mentality I still find myself going to them for the products I need. Every company has horror stories but Lenovo has always done right by me anytime I had to get in touch with them.

My region 5's webcam broke within 2 weeks after purchasing it. The laptop constancely lost its bluetooth driver. It's currently at Lenovo reparing center now due to the problem that the screen could not turn on. You can have a second monitor connected to its but still, nothing changed.

RTX 3070TI mobile vs RTX 3070 mobile safe to say, within margin of error too.
If you want to buy newer model, buy intel version instead, the gap between Intel 11 gen and 12 is huge, specially in multi core performance. But for gaming not that different.

    • @mrbobgamingmemes9558
      @mrbobgamingmemes9558 2 роки тому

Depend on the game type though, in cpu bound games like csgo, valorant, cities skylines, teardown, beamng drive, age of empire 4, the difference might be larger

@@mrbobgamingmemes9558 yes CPU bound, but in native 1440p/1600p isn't much. Legion comes with 16:10 1600p screen.
Also playing at 1080p, most likely your fps already high too with 3070.
So if for gaming, last year model cheaper and more worth the money, for multi task newer model better. Either RTX 3070 or 3070TI should last at least 3-5 year or maybe more.

    I purchased Legion 5 Pro (5800 3060 16 1TB). I came from R5 2600, X370 board, RX570 4GB, (8x2) + (4x2) GB of ram, 240SSD and 2TB HDD.
The budget was meant to purchase at least an RTX 3070 GPU with a "go big or go home" mentality. After considering usage-needs-performance-value, I chose this laptop. I regret nothing. Now, it's my main PC. Work, play, it does everything flawlessly. My only minor gripes probably is the weight.
In retrospect, my old PC was still okay even today, if it was only for gaming and entertainment. If only Radeon has more purposed function other than games that can compete or better than CUDA acceleration.

    • @rush21hit

@Simon Francoeur There were Legion 7 Slim in my local store. But they only carry 3050 and 1650. And afaik, the 3060 version is weaker than Legion 5 Pro due to power-heat-dimension constraint. Admittedly would probably still has plenty headroom for me, but I rather gamble on higher TDP of the same thing. Not to mention the 3060 version being more expensive. I could buy a Huion Kamvas 13 for the price gap.
Also, I was a bit scared of its structural integrity due to the thing being so thin.

I recently picked up last years model, but it doesn't come with the RTX 3060, but honestly I'm not complaining at all with a GTX 1660Ti. I did find 2 people attempting to sell theirs, but they want retail price.

I got a Legion 5 17" 5800H/3060 last September at Micro Center for $1199 after watching reviews by Jarrod and Nerd on a Budget. If you are near a Micro Center, I highly recommend regularly checking their Platinum Collection for deals. They currently have Legion 5 Pro 6800H/3070ti/32gb DDR5 for $1799.

I found a 3070 5800h version for 1099 dollars and 6800h with 3060 for the same price. I am thinking 3070 would be better but what are your thoughts?

Is 230W charger enough tho? For example my 2021 Legion 7 battery is draining when playing the heaviest titles even with 300W, but it is only like 2 % per hour.

Does anyone have a Link for the 230 Watt charger that would be compatible with 2021 legion 5i 15.6 inch?

Do the new 2022 legions come with a true HDMI 2.1 port yet? On the 2021 models, connecting to an LG C1 OLED would only yield 8 bit colour HDR instead of the full fat 10 bit HDR + GSYNC + 4K + 120hz.

Could you also compare legion 5pro amd 2021 against 20222?
