Jarrod, I jus bought a 5 Pro AMD with 3070ti and have found out that these AMD pro versions don't have Advanced Optimus included. Can you do a video on if this impacts performance and battery life? There are lots of people on the Lenovo forums who have complained about the feature being listed in the specs, but not available on the machine.

I always find myself coming back and buying from the Legion lineup. I prefer the look they bring to their gaming laptops and are always top of the line in terms of performance. They know that the midrange laptops are the real money makers and take care of their customers with fantastic price to performance. While recently other companies have caught on and are now following the same mentality I still find myself going to them for the products I need. Every company has horror stories but Lenovo has always done right by me anytime I had to get in touch with them.

My region 5's webcam broke within 2 weeks after purchasing it. The laptop constancely lost its bluetooth driver. It's currently at Lenovo reparing center now due to the problem that the screen could not turn on. You can have a second monitor connected to its but still, nothing changed.

Ran smooth for 6 years straight. I thought I'd give lenovo another chance. It seems like not a matter of luck. I did a poll on reddit to see how many users have similar laptop breaking problems. The percentage is as high as 10-18%. Nowhere near the odds of 1 in a 1000 chance of something bad happening to your device. I'm done with Lenovo.

    I purchased Legion 5 Pro (5800 3060 16 1TB). I came from R5 2600, X370 board, RX570 4GB, (8x2) + (4x2) GB of ram, 240SSD and 2TB HDD.
The budget was meant to purchase at least an RTX 3070 GPU with a "go big or go home" mentality. After considering usage-needs-performance-value, I chose this laptop. I regret nothing. Now, it's my main PC. Work, play, it does everything flawlessly. My only minor gripes probably is the weight.
In retrospect, my old PC was still okay even today, if it was only for gaming and entertainment. If only Radeon has more purposed function other than games that can compete or better than CUDA acceleration.

@Simon Francoeur There were Legion 7 Slim in my local store. But they only carry 3050 and 1650. And afaik, the 3060 version is weaker than Legion 5 Pro due to power-heat-dimension constraint. Admittedly would probably still has plenty headroom for me, but I rather gamble on higher TDP of the same thing. Not to mention the 3060 version being more expensive. I could buy a Huion Kamvas 13 for the price gap.
Also, I was a bit scared of its structural integrity due to the thing being so thin.

More type-C ports is not better, maybe in the future it would be but honestly right now type-C has very limited uses on computers without using a dongle, for the most part they are mainly just used for thunderbolt, DP out, and hubs to add ports (usually for type-A), it's pretty stupid right now that they keep reducing type-A for type-C in laptops due to most USB devices for computer using type-A. Honestly till PC peripherals start using type-C they are simply far less useful, heck on my Legion 7 from last year I've never once used any of the type-C ports, however at times I've had all 3 type-A ports in use.

    1. the AMD FTPM issue that causes stuttering in windows 11 (There are so many stutters dude) and my latencymon results are also not that good because of it
    2. A bios update reduced performance of all legion laptops about 10-15%, this has been there for quite awhile dont know whether they fixed it
    3. AMD has already released the fix for the stuttering issues relating to its FTPM and Lenovo hasn't still released the fix for it through a BIOS update meanwhile some other vendors have already released it.
    4. IDK why but my legion's battery life is also poor (I'm unable to return it or put it to warranty because my country's customers service is the worse dude. I live in Sri Lanka)
    5. My laptop came shipped with MEDIATEK Wifi 6 MT7921 Wifi card. Got to say its sucks. I get random ping spikes in every multiplayer game im playing. Ping rises from 30 second or 15 second intervals and returns back to normal.

CAN YOU COMPARE 11TH GEN VS 12TH GEN LAPTOP WITH SAME GPU IN GAMES ? IT DOESNT MATTER IF LAPTOPS ARENT THE SAME ,IT WILL BE APPRECIATED TO GET SAME CHASIS, LIMIT CPU AND GPU WATTAGE TO GET A CLEAR COMPARISON AT DIFFERENT WATTAGES.

I can confirm that 2021 Legion 5 also has Advanced Optimus. (Maybe Region Dependent)

Can I tell you how much helpful your channel is???
You are the only laptop reviewer I follow. Also please make video on why Windows 11 literally sucks. There are people everywhere praising it. The 2022H2 update has ruined my laptop. My laptop is Omen (big mistake) and comes with 12th gen I7.
    Legion is literally well designed.

All of the laptops we've reviewed this year have been on Windows 11, though none of them on the 2022H2 update. We haven't experienced too many issues.
