I think most drivers will really enjoy these changes. Taming down that initial steer is going to help a lot of racers. Pleased that center diff is now included in the kit. I'm most surprised the battery mount changed. The TLR rubber band was iconic!
I bought an AE sc10 10 years ago. It broke about 8 years ago, and i havent touched it since. I found your channel 3 weeks ago and since then I’ve fixed it and put $600 of performance parts into my truck. All be it outdated i love it and youre helping me tune my truck to my local carpet track. Love youre videos!
Thank you for the info Ryan! I'm running mine on dirt oval in Arizona set up with a late model body and required front and rear bumpers. It's an absolute beast with 13.5 turn
Great driving in the race from Ryan, but the Marshal deserves a huge shout out for that recovery. More or less instantly back on its wheels and up to speed!
I just found your channel about 2 weeks ago and I love it! I just ordered my 22x-4 elite and bought the schelle bearings set, I’m excited to get it built but it’ll take me a while but watching your videos has taught me a ton and already saved me money! I have previously built a Losi 8eight t 2.0 about 8 years ago lol! Rc is amazing to me because I see older people like myself racing alongside teenagers, like there’s no age limit! Keep it up man, you rock!
It’s going to be a challenge for me coming up on 43 years old plus I’ve had 2 strokes and 2 brain surgeries! I lost all fine motor control in both hands when I had my first stroke 8 years ago!
You give me the Blues Clues guy Vibes but like I mean that in like a good way like I come back to watch these videos like I'm watching Blues Clues years ago... I only live a mile away from New Reds can't wait to meet you one day
Really Been Enjoying your video's Ryan. Thanks for all the info and entertainment. I Got into 8th scale a while ago but you got me excited for 1/10. I Got a Carpet 2wd not long ago and am getting one of these this week for the dirt. Can't wait! :)
I just put together a 22X-4 Elite with a 13.5 Trinity and a Reedy ESC and it rips. The suspension springs are a bit ass so the springs have been swapped out to AEs.
Love your channel! Informative and thorough reviews and entertaining racing vids! I am very interested in the 22x4 Elite and would like to know how durable are the parts? I want a buggy whose parts don't break so easily.
I have always found the 4WD AE cars easier to drive, with smoother steering and a larger setup window. With the new changes to the Elite, it might just be the car to beat in 4WD?
Wow great work Ryan! I found your channel a couple weeks ago and am going through your videos. I had to get out of the hobby a few years ago and am able now to jump back in. I started back in the mid ‘80s… first car was from Traxxas “The Cat” a 2wd buggy that I actually had to assemble. 2nd one was a Tamiya Monster Beetle. Good times for sure. Possible idea for you is to do a video on retro cars and trucks, just a thought. Keep up the good work!
I find it interesting that RC race car is rely on chassis flex as a tuning parameter. In full size vehicles chassis stiffness is usually as high as possible and the suspension itself is relied on entirely. I wonder what makes The two different
Sweet 4wd ride you got there Ryan! I personally just got on the fast track on the NEW B6.4 2wd Associated Kit I’m pretty excited to see what it has to bring to the track… 🇺🇸🤙🏽
Thanks for the new video Ryan, I built my original 22x-4 similar to yours, ans i find it really aggressive in the steering, I was going to ask how to tame it down a bit? This new kit is definitely on my list to get now. Just for a suggestion for a video, you and Kenny should race your old 22x-4 and your new one in a side by side-by-side maybe practice day. Keep up the great videos, you have helped my racing so much, I still consider myself a rookie. Just started last year
Hey Ryan love your channel it has inspired me to get back into RC and RC racing and to get my sons involved in it as well as I had a ton of fun when I was a kid first starting out. I just picked up a Tlr Ten scte 3.0 and would like your opinion on what steering servo to use I see you use a spektrum s6245 in your sct. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
How many battery packs do you own? How many packs do you take to the track? And how many do you normally go through in a day racing.... practice...heats....main? Thanks Ryan! Really enjoy your content and the way you explain what's goin on!
Do a 2wd stock racing weight test for kits and components. Lightest 17.5 motors, lightest esc with enough amps, lightest servo with enough power, lightest wiring, lightest receivers, lightest fans, overall weight test of the major brand kits... This video may exist somewhere, but I can't find it. Shaving weight with carbon and titanium parts is nice and all but it's specific to every make and model, shouldn't the starting point be the weight of the major components and the car itself?
The last 4wd Losi i remember seeing was the belt drive XX/XXX hybrid that Losi made (apparently the last of the belt drives). kind of sad to see that design fade away. I always liked belts over shafts if dirt could be kept out of it
@@ad2332 I know there are some, just saying i always liked the Losi design, be it the one belt or the three belt designs and even the hybrid of the XX/XXX that used the XX belt layout with the XXX suspension. I just like a little diversity in competition, which is an oxymoron i know. Eventually every design looks like every other, but it's fun till they find it
Awesome video yet again. Quick question: Can you update the 22x-4 to the 22x-4 Elite or there are fundamental differences ? Do you know if there will be an upgrade kit for us 22x-4 owners ?
Hey Ryan hope all is well ! Question Getting ready to run carpet course with my TLR 22 4.0 buggy any advice for setup changes i was running this car on clay at my local track Leisure Hours and won the Rookie Race Day there with it. Just picked up the JC concepts Fuzz Bites for this buggy and rebuilt my shocks being car sat for a year now... cant find many setup ideas for carpet for this car. And the Fuzz Bite pre glued tires for the rear look like they are small for the drive shaft wear the nut mates with the rim and tire. Almost need a washer or bigger 12mm hex looking for setup advice. Thanx in advanced for any advice where this 4.0 platform i think is getting dated already !
I'm building one of these right now. I don't have any local clubs that have a sizable track or 10th scale events, sad. I just want one to play with where I can. Should I go mod 6T or stock 13.5 ? Considering I'm just going to zoom it around on a golf course or something similar.
Hey Ryan what's up? I completely forgot to get a picture with you when I saw you at epic RC racing complex the last time you were there. Do you know when you'll be there again?
Love your videos. What motor do you run in you short course truck?? I run 17.5. Hobby wing V10 G3R. Just bought a Trinity Revtech X factor. Your thoughts????
Hope your body is on the next kit box...maybe the 22 6.0??? Also, wondering if they will be put out an Elite upgrade kit for those of us who JUST bought a 22x4??
I’m switching gears over to the buggy and truck world from touring cars, which buggy would you start with that would give a good solid starting point? Any help would be great
I have the 22x4 2.0 and I can’t find wheels to fit the front hex. Is there an option axle upgrade I can do to fit wheels on the front and tighten the wheel nuts without locking the front wheels?
What speed controller is good for 5.0elite dc? The one hobby-wing i see people running is out of stock is out of stock. What other options are there? Or maybe just a more budget friendly than the xr10 g2
He is at new red dope I’m bringing my 22x4 can u tell me the difference is it worth the upgrade or can I just buy the option parts and put them on my 22x4
Hm. you should do an unbiased review on your 22 SCT and a SC6.2 if your TLR boys would let ya. I know a car with one that has little run time like your truck😉 - Alex Mac
I’m a bit upset, I purchased my 22x just about a week before the elite was introduced. Last I check not even TLR had the pre order or sneak peak of the hop ups available. All the sponsored and factory drivers have been running it. I could care less about the extra holes on the carbon, or fan placements but I flipped my whole program from Schumacher to losi because I still race my TC xxxs on carpet and asphalt. I hate that losi doesn’t own a touring car. My opinion the triple Xs is still the best single belt tc on the road. Which lead me to off road. I was just about to complete my x4 hybrid clay/ carpet build when the elite hit the market. I’ve now shelved it and will run my wheeler shue in Ohio this season. I am disappointed in Tlr, and horizon as my hybrid kit isn’t even a month old. I’m way beyond disappointed. I may just sell my slider, my dc elite, my triple xs and go back to other brands. My start came from the pans in 89. I’m just so upset that I’ll give up my dc/ elite and shelf my x4 over this intro that I sank money into just as the elite popped up. Tlr and horizon and now team powers should retro the new season buyers and user the center diff, Ackerman, 3.0s, carbons, light weight bodyband a set of wheels. Maybe even the upgraded pills. I love your channel but horizon, Tlr, and the Dakota setup should be retro to us all who stood in line the past 2-3 months for our x4’s
Shout out to the Marshall who caught your car and helped with the clutch marshaling
I think most drivers will really enjoy these changes. Taming down that initial steer is going to help a lot of racers. Pleased that center diff is now included in the kit. I'm most surprised the battery mount changed. The TLR rubber band was iconic!
Can you put the new battery mount in the old car?

Another Banger of a video , easily the best Racing RC channel , so calm and concise. All the info perfectly laid out. Thanks Ryan !
You give me the Blues Clues guy Vibes but like I mean that in like a good way like I come back to watch these videos like I'm watching Blues Clues years ago...
I only live a mile away from New Reds can't wait to meet you one day
Ryan, the side to side flex is referring to how much torsion it has. :)
Nice review!
Nice review Ryan! I can't wait for the 5.0 elite to be updated.
Steering bellcrank 8:00 Love the channel! (nowhere to race in Tucson anymore)
Great video. "Taco" = Bending and "Side to side" = Torsion or twist
Got mine Last Thursday😎
1:10 with the whip and the music was mint 👌🏻
I have the standard 22x-4. Have installed centre diff. Ordered that centre brace. I am hoping those 2 changes will calm down the steering.
How do you compare it to the B74(.2D) in terms of drivability and performance? Awesome video btw!

Badass kit. AE needs to step up their game
Glad to see you get a new car come in
That track messes with my OCD. Instead of using the overjump to balance left and right turns, they used it to get more left and less right...
Sweet 4wd ride you got there Ryan! I personally just got on the fast track on the NEW B6.4 2wd Associated Kit I’m pretty excited to see what it has to bring to the track… 🇺🇸🤙🏽
Dear Ryan pls keep making vids they are too good to not pass by without clicking.
Nice video! Would you still recommend the center diff over the slipper for a high grip carpet track?
Hey Ryan what charger do you use? I’ve been watching all your older content and really like your charger. And great videos too.

That watch is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video as always and congrats on the win but that marshalling was on another level 😲🔥🔥
Torsional flex is the word
It would be awesome to see you come up to GA and catch a race 🤙 great video!
hey Ryan, would u consider making a video about how to pack your buggies and travel with them? Great video quality BTW.
Where did you go we miss ya
Awesome video, love that track, wish I had something like that close to me!
I just bought my 22x4 and have not even driven it yet, I am kicking myself!
I didn't know Rudy Giuliani was announcing rc races
Longitudinal axis and lateral axis; I saw that torsional flex has been covered before.
hey bud just wondering what motor combo ya have
Do a 2wd stock racing weight test for kits and components. Lightest 17.5 motors, lightest esc with enough amps, lightest servo with enough power, lightest wiring, lightest receivers, lightest fans, overall weight test of the major brand kits...

What's the difference between the old Aluminum steering link and the new aluminum one?
Ryan, shirt looks great! What gshock is that? Thanks
G-Shock FROGMAN GWF-A1000BRT-1A
I can’t believe you didn’t go and thank that Marshall. He saved your ass that day!
The last 4wd Losi i remember seeing was the belt drive XX/XXX hybrid that Losi made (apparently the last of the belt drives). kind of sad to see that design fade away. I always liked belts over shafts if dirt could be kept out of it

Nice kinda want one!
Haven't been in RC world since 93-96 LOL
Seems I've missed a lot
nice Spyderco!
Looks damn snappy man
First. The 22X-4 elite is the best ever
nooo
u won me by 3 seconds
Ur the best ever ❤️
great video! if u have the 22x4 is it worth it?

Missed ya Saturday!
@@RyanHarrisRC thanks buddy missed you guys as well

The manual shows a carpet setup. Are those springs in the kit? Come with wheels?
I’m switching gears over to the buggy and truck world from touring cars, which buggy would you start with that would give a good solid starting point? Any help would be great
What about your old one ? Do you sell it ?
The new one seems very cool.
Carbon brace tunes the torsional rigidity.
TEAM LOSI FOR LIFE ! ..
love your crazy videos love the advice
@Ryan Harris is the 22x4 elite easy to build and how are the instructions
@Ryan Harris being that you race mod class try Dakota Phends phenom series 6.0t mod motor smooth and responsive.
Ryan thoughts on this car for carpet and dirt.
Thinking of ditching my tekno
We need a watch video sir... i am noticing quite a few different wrist pieces that deserve their own wrist shots....

Can u do a video on the hobby esc have some trouble trying to get it dialed in I feel like my brake isn’t strong enough
I just bought one but not the elite im gonna turn it into a truggy
Hi Ryan, any new videos coming?
Ryan when the car is going to be available for purchase?
He is at new red dope I’m bringing my 22x4 can u tell me the difference is it worth the upgrade or can I just buy the option parts and put them on my 22x4

How does this new car compare to the Xray car?
Hey I have 22x-4 how to get it to drive more flat or how to get the nose down when on the power
Ain't to exciting for me I just got the 22x4 normal version :(
Where is Ryan, more videos man, i need knowledge:-)

Wish I had a kit lol
It's a new aluminum drag link what is the difference?
