My 8 year old son got a arrma big rock for Christmas and I took him out to go driving... he says " Dad you wanna try it " I start driving it and he says " Dad ,this is the best day ever " ... Right back to the hobby shop to get another one.. we're not trying to win trophies, but most the time we win smiles and laughs and good time's! I'm really glad you shared your story .
I have a 19 month old daughter and I literally dream about the first day I get to let her drive an RC car with me, hoping she’ll say the same thing to me. Can’t wait for her to grow up and play with RC cars with ole Dad.
Dave Swann I try and push it on people but anything that involves work or maintaining they just don’t wanna. Would rather sit on their phones I guess. Been doing this hobby for almost 10 years and could say I’ve learned a lot. Wish more people did it. But it’s also pretty expensive.
I first got in this hobby when I was 7th grade and stopped right as I got into high school. I Started chasing something else. And what I was chasing didn't care too much about RC.
I've been in the hobby 5 years. I want to try and get into racing but it's too much money. I have an sc10.3, Traxxas slash, and an element rc Enduro sendero. Pegasus hobbies is near me and i so want to try 1/10 scale 2wd buggies. 1/8 scale truggies And buggies are too costly for me. Side note: I'm a junior in high school.
@@abelvelazco5450 you already have an sc10.3. Just run that. first find out what tires ppl are running. invest in those. and probably a transponder. The rest of the stuff youll accumulate as you go.
Just started this hobby again at 60 years young and you have been a great source of info and inspiration thanks for what your doing. Your doing for the hobby than anything the world champs are doing! Thank you.
AE, TLR, Kyosho etc etc, need a person like you to go out and do what you do on this channel. I like it how you go I drove this .......... car but your more concerned about the RC community and helping and not about the brand. I'm a hardcore AE dude but all power to you and this channel as a learning tool for anybody novice to expert. Well done Ryan hope you enjoy your TLR time period. If you are ever in Australia Ryan come to Bathurst NSW we have a small club were our #1 rule is have fun and support each other to make racing enjoyable.
I know I’m a little late to the party with asking this question on a 3 year old post but I’m new to the hobby and doing what I can to learn as much as possible, what does AE stand for? I have all losi RCs right now but looking to branch out more.
Honestly my friend....good luck with whatever you do but don't try too hard!!! You don't have to have big time support to have an impact on this hobby....you're already making a positive impact on our hobby!!! Have fun...don't be so serious....toy car my friend....😁
I'm just getting into the RC Hobby after many many years of being going. I was gone so long that I had no clue to where to even start. The local rc shop/club was so helpful and they all run Losi/TLR. The sponsored TLR guys that attend the local club races are so helpful to the point that I feel like I am bothering them but they are still there helping/mentoring me and I feel truly blessed to be so welcomed.
I have to admit. I was bummed to hear you switched from AE. Because I have learned a lot from your videos. And currently have all AE cars. Unfortunately I dont have the best support in my local area. I have only been racing for about a year and aren't to keen on asking for help when racing. When I do get help the jibber jabber they are saying i dont understand. I couldn't even tell you what I need out of my car currently. I spent about a thousand dollars to build a track in my back yard and am going to work my hardest to learn. You and your videos give me the drive to do so. Thank you and keep the set up info coming and inspiration. Have a Merry Christmas.
I love your thinking! Club racing is the most important aspect of the hobby and tends to get forgotten about or brushed off as not significant enough to worry about. Club racing is what grows the hobby and builds the next generation of drivers and enthusiasts!
The fanboys obviously will not like the switch and make stupid comments. I’m a fan of the channel and like the tips, tricks and reviews you do. I recently switched as well. Ran AE for a couple years and just picked up 2 5.0 Elites and love them. Just wanted to try something new. I do the big trophy races but clubbing is way more fun. Keep making videos!
"Fanboi's" never like anything other than their focus, and they exist for every item created, and every brand imaginable. If you live your own life, and don't live off of other peoples opinions, that's how you will be happy and successful. I don't race for popularity. I don't race to feel good about my self and score trophies. I do it, cause it's fun. I do it, and help others. People forget there is a huge social aspect to all of this. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING pushes people out of hobbies and sports other than two top issues. Frustration, and Bullies. The bullies are always the poor sports who play rough (not driving clean), or poor losers. Helping people learn and dial in their vehicles, does two things. One, helps their frustration. Give a common bond as well. While simultaneously boosting people up, and giving yourself more competition on the field, pushing you to do better. Fixing those two issues over most of the smaller ones, builds a better community.
I made a lot of my sponsorships in the 80's and 90's were going to club races at different tracks around me. I would race at one track on a Friday night (could be four Friday races in one month at the same track) and knock on the track record or even break it depending on conditions and other factors. I just made sure I was in the top three or four drivers consistently. My motor sponsor later told me that he knew how I did and what I was doing because those tracks would call in a big order of his motors the following week. My dad and I shared the hobby and he raced dragsters so he helped me understand how to setup a car. I didn't always have the best stuff so I relied on my driving to win me a lot of races. I've been back in the hobby for a year now and I'm finally turning lap times that the pro class at my local track are turning, I'm just not as consistent at it as I want to be. I also used to race oval so jumping and learning what the new cars and the equipment can do has been a huge curve for me. A few messages with Spencer has helped me in the setup of my car. I do notice the new TLR is doing really well at my track and I would be tempted to try it if I didn't have the investment in the AE B6.1. I did get some driving lessons last year from Gil Losi Jr., but as far as I know he's no longer affiliated with TLR. I'm not looking for sponsors this time around, I just want to enjoy the hobby and hanging out with people that enjoy it too. I want to perform at my best at whatever my budget can happily support, it's ok with me if that's in the top twenty drivers of the 17.5 stock class. Now that I'm there I'm shooting for the top ten. Ryan, your tire prep and shock bleeding videos have helped me. I also removed glue and rubber from some used rims this weekend. Spencer's vidoe on tire prep is a good one too. Somewhere along the line I came across a video on how to build a differential, sand the rings, and a driver at the track showed me how to break it in with a drill instead of in the car. I also now know how I like the diff tightness to be before ever placing it in the car. Keep up the great videos!
Ryan you’re top notch for the RC world, I run tekno, but got into your videos simply due to the fact that they are fantastically edited. Some of the best on UA-cam ...no matter what we run as long as it is for the love of the sport...we all win. #goteamTekno;)
Absolutely!! Club racing and local hobby shop support. The experience, the learning, the community, the support and most of all the good times with friends, family, 1st timers and everyone in between, young and old ! Keep it alive and well and support your local rc shops and community
My son and I have watched a lot of your video's Ryan. He just turned 6 so I took him to our local track (MHOR RC Raceway) and he couldn't have been more excited. Your a great ambassador for the brands you represent. I bought him a Losi 22 5.0 elite, HW ESC, and Revtech motor and he had a great time at Sunday practice. Thanks again for all you do for the hobby.
My intention for this comment is to say thank you for sharing your thoughts, feelings and creating with the passion you do. As a community we really need more content like yours. Thank you very much. Looking forward to going back into your video's and learning from you and your dad's experiences! Thank you for passing it on.
Nico learned a lot from you, Lee, and Kenny this weekend at SS Hobbies & Raceway! You are absolutely the ambassador this hobby needs and TLR is lucky to have you Ryan!
Hello Ryan, first let me say how well spoken you were in this video and even though the video is from 2 years ago, the things you spoke of I highly respect. Our son is 16 now and he entered his first novice race over Memorial Day weekend ‘22 and he had a blast. He did very well and finished with TQ and 3rd in the main. This hobby has allowed us to spend more time together at the track and I hope he keeps up his interest in the hobby. Thank you for the video.
I got into RC racing last year and your videos are what I used to learn and understand the hobby. I have no doubts that your new stuff will be even better. You should do a Budget Buggy Build!!
Man I appreciate your story. I have a similar story to yours. I grew up in so cal at the ranch pitshop racing around guys like gill losi Jr. With my pops. Fast forward 25+ years later I'm trying to buy a car with my son and get back into making great memories!! Thanks for all you do to help guys like me re figure out what the hell there doing lol!!
"I will never be a national champion, it just isn't where my skills are at." Well my friend you may not realise it, but that's the honesty WORLD CHAMPIONS have. Old rc driver here. Rc 10 gold pan was my first car. Yes I'm a old guy. Shhhhh...it is great if you win alot. What is more important is when you lose. How well you do it says alot. Anyone can win great. Not many can lose great. Attitude, respect and SPORTSMANSHIP is everything.
Father/Son racing is tough to beat. I miss my Dad so mu. He taught me so much about cars, wrenching, driving, support, sacrifice and how to conduct myself in competitive situations. Great video!
I know this was aired a year ago but I lost my dad 2 yrs ago right when we were both trying to get into the sport and ur videos really hit home.....god bless you..ur family...and all u do...and I'm gunna try and follow and get best info from u and alot of good racers along side...thanks again man👊👊👊👊
I found your channel a few days back and I subbed you. I took a 14 year hiatus from the hobby. Now that my oldest son is seven now, he has become interested in R/C somewhat. I used to run 1/8 scale gas buggies for fun, but I’m looking to get into the electric scene now. I appreciate your time and your information that you provide.
I use to race at club level in my early teens. I am now 49 and haven't raced for over 30 years. I now have 2 sons of my own. My eldest son is 4 years old. I purchased a very cheap second hand 1/10 electric 4wd buggy from a lesser known brand and my son is super excited. I am taking him to watch a race in 2 weeks time. I hope he gets the same spark I did as I would love to take him racing when he is old enough.
It was super cool to see you at the Warehouse! I just got back into the hobby around a month ago and I haven't raced since the late 90s. I was always a fan of TLR over AE for some reason.
Ryan this video resonated with me so much as I started with my dad 8+ years ago, took a little break now im getting back into the hobby on my own. but this is so smart from you cause I know im not the only person who has watched your channel, noticed you drive TLR cars now and went and picked up my own TLR 22 and 22t. great move by you and TLR for noticing youtube as a brand and community
Bro, your heart is big and in the right place! My dad supported my “racing career” when I was boy (I had a Tamiya Fox ;) and now I race and support my son! Legacy. It’s important we pass that along to loved ones and the people our the hobby. Great video. Love your heart.
Should definitely come up to Ed's RC in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Indoor Offroad Clay track and they race every Wednesday/ Saturday with trophy races around the holidays.
Good luck with TLR, and thank you for all of your great videos. Looking forward to many more videos from you. Watching your videos is was got me into the hobby. This past summer was my first and was a great time. My youngest son now wants to try it out next year going to be great. Thanks for everything and can't wait to see you racing your new cars.
Wow impressive video , wise comments. I'm eager to see your new builds with your new partners . You can choose all the brands you want in the end , the reasons I'm watching all of your videos is because of you Ryan , Great RC ambassador. Keep up the good work and Happy Xmas and new year .
Yo Ryan, it takes a real man to get on social media and put his pride aside, great things are coming your way trust me. Thanks for being genuine and having a TRUE love for this hobby. And hearing you speak about your father and how you two used to do the best that you could, that right there is what it’s all about the love and the connection between family. Best of luck to you brother…go get em
As someone who has been involved with RC Racing at club and national levels for 20 years, there is a HUGE misconception when it comes to Sponsorship. If your a Ryan Maifield, Brian Kinwald, Adam Drake, Ty Tessman, or Jared Tebo. Yes, you get free stuff from sponsors, but it depends on allot of things how much they actually get as far as payment, and everything it takes to be a full time driver (transportation, parts, kits, fuel, batteries, tires, lodging, etc) I really dont think people understand the years, talent, dedication, and support it takes to compete at that level.
Man I’m like you. I was 17 years out of the hobby. I came back in learning there is so much I need to learn. Chassis, motors, esc, batteries, chargers, tires, etc. I chose to bring my son in to have fun. After investing thousands to race again I found it so expensive. Even at the club level. With him racing novice and I at 17.5 both AE buggies. Our local track then decided to close. So now we have to travel around 2 hrs just to race. Our program has taken a major decline. We want to race but with cost and travel we just can’t. Then when needing spare parts or wanting better upgrades stuff it’s even harder. I wish you good luck and stay humble my friend. Love the channel.
I am a fan of the channel and although I am an AE guy I think TLR has a phenomenal product and a great history in RC. I think you made a good choice and being an ambassador for RC you are going with the companies that can help you to help others enjoy RC racing more. Good for you Ryan, and keep up with the amazing job with your videos!!!
Ryan, I am 53 years old and I got into this hobby in November of 2014. I do have three children who are now adults but they have no interest in the hobby. So your story about your dad was AWESOME. My dad and I fished growing up. Those times were fun and I miss those days. As for you switching to TLR, is fine with me and I understand your point as being a better fit as to the direction you want to go. I myself switched from a buggy to a stadium truck because it is more fun. That was one of your past videos. I love your passion in the hobby, I like your videos. I look forward to them. Thanks for being YOU! Your fan Papo
Love you channel and your message. It wouldn’t matter who you raced with, your knowledge and message are priceless and entertaining....many channels might be helpful but painful to watch or listen to (just being honest). I work at a local track in Burlington, WI so your message really hit home for me. I might be a bit biased but I love the direction you are going and I look forward to hearing more about it. Full disclosure, I’m a TLR guy myself so I’m extra excited about the new direction. I just got a new 22T 4.0 and would absolutely love to see and hear anything you could share about that truck...assuming of course you grab yourself. I know the T6.1 is a great truck so I’d understand if your not in a rush, but I had to ask. Take care and MERRY CHRISTMAS! P.S. My father and I were also Coasties. Semper Par!
It's clear that some people have absolutely looked right over the "message" in this video. SMH Thanks Ryan for what you do for the hobby/sport and the whole industry in general.
I really appreciate your point of view on this. I had returned to the hobby after twenty years and went to what I knew, which was associated. I was disappointed at the lack of support for on road and frustrated at trying to get parts for my B6. I've ended up switching to Serpent because the team community is very close in all disciplines. They're not the biggest brand, but the products and racers are excellent here in the UK.
I have a love hate relationship with this hobby. Some years I’m all in and it’s all I can think about. Other years I tell myself I’m never getting back in. I’m in my “I’m not going to race anymore” version of myself and your video pinpointed why I’m hot and cold with this hobby. The lack of relationships at the track. I’m in my 30s and I can say I wish there was something of a mentoring program for less experienced racers. Putting less impact on having the most dialed gear and more substance around the basics of the hobby would be great. Creating an open environment where winning isn’t everything or every man for themselves would help facilitate stronger bonds which would hopefully translate to happy racing for everyone. Hoping for the best for you and your new chapter with Losi.
Maybe a video next on how characteristics of 6.1 and 5.0 compare? What does each do better than the other? Do each lend themselves to particular driving style? How do each adapt to different surfaces or unique layouts?
I totally get your Point of Vision cause , i had to make the same Kind of choice by switching from Nitro Truggy to E Buggy for the next Season . The energy to Put into the Nitro Racing with the Pit Crew was always a Struggle when i was Racing , but everybody at the Track was trying to Support me but at the Ende of the day i did Not have my Head free enough to do good Racing , so Thats the Reason why i Switched so i can focus on just Racing and wrenching 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Watching your videos is the reason I want to start racing. I decided to go with Tekno. Just started getting some track time in.. but I'm a bit overwhelmed as to going about setting up my car. The local track to me is astroturf and carpet. I watch your videos and definitely feel like I am learning something.. thank you for all you do for the rc world
Love watching your videos!! I am new to the hobby and started it with my 11 yr old son. He has fallen in love with it. So to hear your story with your dad and your goals as a driver is amazing. I will be showing this to him tonight! Maybe you will make it up to Omaha sometime and he can get the chance to meet you. Keep doing what your doing man!!
Awesome descision Ryan and for all the right reasons too I might add. I haven't raced another brand than Team Losi / TLR since the mid 90'ies and I will never switch to another brand because I love TLR so much. For the record, I still have all my Team Losi cars I have ever raced since the XX and I just can't sell them. They are a part of me in some weird way. I don't hate AE but I just happen to like TLR better in every way possible. I wish you all the best for the 2020 season and I'm looking forward to your outstanding video's. You are truely one of a kind.
I have done tons of trophy races and as much fun as they are and as much fun as it is to prep for them, club racing is almost always more fun. More relaxed, more time to help up and comers, more ball busting. Not much where I live now but owe a huge amount of my development as a person to the experiences I had r/c racing. Great content, keep it going
I'm getting back into R/C after almost 30 years. I just picked up a Losi 22-4 2.0 to do some sportsman racing this coming year. I will end up with a 22 5.0 soon. I have to say, I am nervous being the 40+ newb. Looking forward to your videos and insight.
I am in the same boat. I raced with my dad from 9 to 18 and raced for the first time in 20 years earlier this year. It's intimidating but Ryan's videos have helped me a metric crap ton.
I used to be at the track every week 7 or 8 years ago racing club races. I love where your heart is here! And my experiences back then kinda' seemed to mirror. I had been in the hobby racing years before (think RC10 CE timeframe) and had always been die-hard AE. When I got involved again short course was all the rage, and there was a local backyard SC scene that had their own races. Looking at everything I could find online, I went with a Losi XXX-SCT and I've never regretted it. Online support from factory drivers was outstanding, and once the indoor track in San Diego opened there was a lot of feedback from them on that. I didn't see as much of that on the AE side, but I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't hunting hard for it either. But TLR on the forums was just on it. FYI this was the first video from you I'd seen. Showed up randomly in my feed. I'll be checking out more and maybe subbing ;) Keep up the good work!
Seriously i like your vidz. Its more than a brand. Its hobby, its knowledge and its applyable to every brand. Good job and hope to See you soon. Enjoy 2020
I understand the father son racing bond. My best memory was getting a RC car my dad bought me from radio shack and it then getting me into the local slot car tracks. RIP pops! Now I'm doing it with my kids 😂
My son getting to meet you at s&s was a pretty big deal to him. You have helped us both and have such a great perspective on the hobby! Hope to race with you some day soon.
thanks Again Ryan, as a returning racer you have educated me a lot since I came back, I even bought AE as it was easier to follow with the same kit etc. Now hurry up and get the new 4wd as i've not bought a B74 yet ;) keep doing what you do, and happy christmas to you and your family :)
Good luck with ltr and have fun racing, and keep doing what you love. I'm a sponsored serpent on road touring driver in the UK and don't ever feel pressure to run and be top level at national, and have great support from thrm. Always enjoy club racing and always have time to help other and youngsters even over my own racing would rather help someone who is struggling with setup or repairs and get them racing over myself. Used to be a sponsored TLR on road touring driver some 14 years ago, and if they came back to on road I would consider going back to them for the same reasons. Have a very happy Christmas and successful 2020.
Talking about plane tickets, have you done a video on how to pack when traveling by airplane? What would you use? I have another hobby, which I started about 2 years ago, I wanted to learn it and go into tournaments within the first year, I was super focused on getting better and improving myself, I consumed every bit of information I could during that journey. I was very fortunate to meet kind people who taught me and advised me as well along the way. Although the best advise I received from them was to simply have fun, at first I thought: I am having fun, but I was travelling to every single tournament, not doing so well, frustration was building up and then I took a few months break - I guess I burned out. I came back into it and decided to just take it down a notch, just play for fun. I’ve been having the best results and I’ve been having fun without taking it too seriously now, I now understand what my friends were trying to say and I think it’s important to enjoy it first and foremost, the rest will come with experience (and some luck too). With RC I’ve know from the start that I wouldn’t be competing, I got into it with a friend over 15 years ago when he got his first 1/10 nitro road car. We simply played on the road or in a parking lot. I’m now on my 3rd 1/8 off-road buggy and my first electric car (totally loving it) and most likely it’s just for the fun of it, tracks here in UK are too far away for me, but I hope one day I can check the scene and try my car on a proper track, I think building a community is important, it’s the pillar of everything, finding people who are willing to help others is important, it makes the whole experience much better for everyone and it’s assuring, making new people feel welcomed and spend more time in the hobby and this benefits everyone involved. You have been doing a great job, I really enjoy your videos, it doesn’t really matter which RC you drive, as long as it fits your needs and you are having fun, that’s what matters, it’s a hobby, it’s suppose to be fun and friendly.
Best of luck with TLR, drivers changing teams is part of the sport. Even the great Mr Kinwald dabbled between AE & TLR. You talking reminded me of when me and my dad use to race. I got back into the sport 12 months ago but he wasn’t up for it this time round something about not wanting to get up early to get to the track lol
I don’t think I would be in to this RC thing again if it wasn’t for you. You sold me. Even though I went back to my Losi roots. I was going to buy an AE because you ran it. I hope TLR takes care of you because you’re worth it. Thanks again for your commitment to the hobby. And also understanding the family values in the hobby too.
Hi Ryan!! You've got a fan overseas on me 😅 I left the hobby ten years ago and I've had more than enought with my bike. You know what? Although some buddies are always trying to bring me to the rcracing again, is your channel what is willing me to come back. And those TLR 22 5.0 look so damn good. I guess Santa is coming this year with some wrenching time. Good luck dude!!!!!
I run a TLR 4.0, Holeshots which this is the 3rd season on them. (Our track is proper loose dirt, it's very easy on tires.... VERY hard on bearings heh). 2nd Gen Tekin with a massive amount of hours. Honestly, still pretty competitive. Maybe it's the loose dirt leveling the playing field, bringing out the proper skill who knows. The fact we get people out there and doing it, is the key, and it's fun
John Donovan Windy City Rc Closed on me which was my main track. Also Leisure Hours Raceway, and Time Warp raceway of Lake in the hills. The closest track now is in Wisconsin and south of Chicago but a little too far for me. We had some great facilities but people chose not to support the tracks. When we don’t support our local tracks they are not financially able to stay open. That’s why I always say support your local Hobby shop because once their gone, it’s hard to see them again.
Yeah, my only race back was Windy City. I was really sad when it closed the doors. I was planning on going full in over the summer but never got the chance. Plus I live near lesiure hours, so I lost that too. I think Morris is my closest now.
Ryan, you are doing a awesome job my friend! Your channel is awesome! I enjoy learning new tips and tricks on your channel for going faster on the track, your channel has helped me do that. Keep up the great work.. " So glad TLR and Pro-line got your back " Your a first class driver and person.. You deserve it my friend.. Looking forward for more great videos in 2020 , God Bless.
Glad to see you come over to TLR. I run the the 5.0AC and at my local tracks there arent that many but the ones who do run it really enjoy the new 5.0 platform. Good luck in 2020 and cant wait to see some videos on the new cars.
One of our local tracks is carrying TLR parts now cause there are a couple of us running them. Also a local hobby store where I bought my kit is selling the parts now too. Pretty nice to have a little support when running something that everyone doesn't run. Only issue I had with mine was the kit shock shafts. I did buy the upgraded 3.5mm now and haven't broke any of those.
@@RC-ty5ym I've heard that part of the problem has to do in part with the prices listed from Horizon Hobby Germany? Compared to the prices we get here in the US, everything seems much more expensive? Not sure if it has to do with some tariff situation or not.
Ryan awesome videos man. Im a new sub to you but so far I'm loving the channel. Informative & very helpful. Been non stop on watching your setup tips & tricks. Then you talk bout the families getting into it together. Dude thats the best part of it. Finally got my lil brother to try the hobby n he's all in now. Awesome vid bud. Hits pretty close to the heart.
If You're still interested in local club racing, there are club races every Tuesday and Saturday at the Hobbytown Columbus GA. The members are generally super nice and the racing is very competitive. I'm sure you would enjoy yourself. Thanks
That's funny, I just bought myself a B6.1 after watching so many of your videos! I've been wanting to buy a buggy for some time and finally pulled the plug. Regardless the brand, your videos are so much helpful!
Its so cool that you still into it after 17 years or so am getting back into it.You can be Champion its not hard.I was maltese Champion on budget just gotta be very smooth. Its bringing me awesome memories same here :) keep it up an to evryone stay on budget if need be dont worry no need spend alot trust me use tyres that last longer if you can i did an won most the time. Most important is practise as much as you can so your skills are gr8 an you rarely break the car
Nail on the head how big companies really focus on big events… need more focus on grass roots… need a strong foundation to hold the whole industry up… it’s getting very top heavy. Good for you Ryan. Don’t let number one (you) get taken for granted… you have a good brand for any company to notice the benefits you can bring.?
I absolutly respect the switch. Im subscribed to the chanel for the awesome videos and tips its not about the brand. I will continue to run AE i like the car and its by far the most supported here in Sweden. No one here runs TLR unfortunatly.
Just getting back into the hobby after a 12 year hiatus and found your channel. I wish the guys at my local track had this mentality. I am terrible but my son who is only 8 could benefit from meeting a racer such as yourself. Keep it up man and the hobbies future is still bright! Lovin the content by the way. Maybe TLR or PL would start to host “hands on” days or something for younger racers much like the 3d printing and stem community started to do a decade or so ago. Now it is hard to find a school without a 3d printer lab. Imagine if the hobby took that approach!!
Wow… it’s 2023 and this video is still having an impact!!!! Love your heart man, it’s what people need to see more than anything else.
RC brands need to get into High Schools. The hobby will explode!
Dave Swann I try and push it on people but anything that involves work or maintaining they just don’t wanna. Would rather sit on their phones I guess. Been doing this hobby for almost 10 years and could say I’ve learned a lot. Wish more people did it. But it’s also pretty expensive.
@@Strckt well if they can get 1000 dollar phones
In my opinion, you are the most down to earth pro out there. Thanks for keeping us in the know.
TLR needed a guy like you. I’m happy you switched. Make TLR great again. Lol
Thanks Scott! Best of luck with your family's racing in the years to come! Hope to see you guys at the track again soon
Ryan Harris it's in the works! Looking to add a summer trip as well as Christmas trip for 2020!!!
Just getting back into RC and been going through your videos. Wanted to say thank you for all the help!
Before we could drive at 16 years old. My friend got RC10, and I wanted to fight so choose thee enemy/ competitor with Losi JRX Pro SE.
remember
Gold pan! Was my first as well! Just got back in with a Losi 1/8th rtr nitro
4yrs later and still the best rc racing channel on yt. The editing and shots are superior to other videos. let’s see more in 2022!
Helping people is where it's at man and I feel the same way. Cool videos keep it up bro.
Awesome video Ryan. I Got the family to watch with me, and they loved every bit of it! Can't wait to see the next one!
You do you Ryan, the community loves your channel... it's all in the numbers and growth. All I ask is more frequent content!😁
Wish we had a club nearby, jealous of the track options some of you guys have. Such a great sport for families, here’s to spreading the fun.
Congrats Ryan! All the work you do in the RC community is appreciated. Best of luck in 2020.
Your choice makes perfect sense, love what you do for the hobby.
You totally respect your stuff Ryan. That makes you a winner in my book. Keep on keeping on
Sounds like TYCO wants to sign me.. Cant wait! What kind of tires should I run on my Heads Up Turbo Hopper?
I am a fan of the channel and although I am an AE guy I think TLR has a phenomenal product and a great history in RC. I think you made a good choice and being an ambassador for RC you are going with the companies that can help you to help others enjoy RC racing more. Good for you Ryan, and keep up with the amazing job with your videos!!!
Ryan,
I am 53 years old and I got into this hobby in November of 2014.
You seem like a genuinely good guy and an asset to the hobby. Hope you have a great year Ryan.
Semper Par!
You are the man! Super excited for you! Good luck next year! Keep making awesome and meaningful content!
It's clear that some people have absolutely looked right over the "message" in this video. SMH
Thanks Ryan for what you do for the hobby/sport and the whole industry in general.
Thanks for understanding lol Best of luck out there man!
That’s a great inspirational message for our hobby, thanks Ryan!
This guy’s videos are awesome but what’s more, he seems to just be a genuinely good dude with his values in order.
Just now watching this video as I’ve been diving into your channel and looking to build a buggy awesome content man!
Keep up the great work and good luck with the new rides, Merry Christmas 🎄
Maybe a video next on how characteristics of 6.1 and 5.0 compare? What does each do better than the other? Do each lend themselves to particular driving style? How do each adapt to different surfaces or unique layouts?
Man gotta do what a man gotta do. keep up the great content, Ryan for President 2020
That is awesome, it's all about family, memories, and fun.
Keep doing what you are doing me and my son love your videos. You have helped us a lot thanks.
Been looking at them for the past couple months, mostly from 1 lap back!
Best of Luck in 2020. Really enjoy the channel and i have learned a lot from you.
Hopefully you’ll be able to make it up to the Michigan area in 2020
Thanks for the great content man!
Enjoy 2020
Ryan,You are going to do great with the TLR product, They will serve you well !
Yay a new vid! So pumped to see you going back to ol' faithful! Can't wait for the 22x-4 video ;) happy holidays Ryan!
Great to see they are compagnies that see that side of hobby. That will support you on your ventures in 2020. Thanks for all you bring to this hobbie.
Keep doing what makes you happy!
All the best wishes for 2020🏁🏁🏁
Good luck with ltr and have fun racing, and keep doing what you love.
Can't wait for those TLR 5.0 videos!
Your an asset to the racing community keep up the great work don’t let anyone tell you different it’s about having fun after all....
This makes me miss my only local Chicago land area RC track that closed this past spring. Support your local hobby shop!
Which track? I'm in Chicagoland and finding a place to race sucks
John Donovan
Windy City Rc Closed on me which was my main track.
That’s why I always say support your local
Hobby shop because once their gone, it’s hard to see them again.
Yeah, my only race back was Windy City. I was really sad when it closed the doors. I was planning on going full in over the summer but never got the chance. Plus I live near lesiure hours, so I lost that too. I think Morris is my closest now.
LHR, yup. I miss it to but J-dubb opened Impact RC Raceway. Go check it out. Find on www and FB.
Papo Cordova I’m aware of Impact. Long drive for me though
The biggest TLR problem is the spare parts situation.
Almost every hobby shops sells AE parts, but not TLR.
@@briansypin988 I should have said that this is a TLR problem here in good old Germany.
At least on online shop support for TLR isn't a issue here Tower, Losi parts warehouse, Absolute Hobbyz , Amain some smaller shops.
@@RC-ty5ym I've heard that part of the problem has to do in part with the prices listed from Horizon Hobby Germany? Compared to the prices we get here in the US, everything seems much more expensive? Not sure if it has to do with some tariff situation or not.
Nice videos man, always worth the watch🤙
Glad to see you back with TLR and ProLine rubber Awesome combo, good luck in 2020, Luv the videos...
Just found you today. Love your story and your outlook. It is pretty inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Well said sir, me and a friend of mine we having a very similar conversation. That’s the best attitude to have.
