They are referring to Queen, the band, not the actual queen! Your queen has more German blood in her than English. Did you know that, hadn't been for king George V, they would still go under the name of Saxe Coburg and Gotha? It was George V that changed the name into Windsor because of the anti-German feeling that there was in the country. Also, another one that changed his name was Lord Mountbatten; his name was Battenberg, berg meaning mountain in German, and he changed it into Mountbatten to anglicise it! After the Tudors, the Stewarts (Scottish) took the throne in England. and after the Stewarts, William of Orange (the house of Orange is Dutch). After them, the house of Hanover ) German) took over, with Queen Victoria being the last Hanoverian monarch...and from there we know who followed: the house of Saxe Coburg and Gotha. So, yes, god save the German queen lol...and your anthem should say: "god save the people", not just one person!

That's the genius of Freddie chosen the nama Queen not King for their band to fix that anthem. The band can play the anthem to glory them as well as their queen. May be if they the British had a king those days, he would have chosen the name King.
