I tried these out for a few days at shred fest and I can say they really get the job done. Way more stable, very great if you are into filming and use your onewheel as a dolly
Add a rubber polymer bumper to the axle surround and you would get some light dampening.. you could also make an Allen key adjustable, axle with index marks so a purchaser could customize their profile, axles one way to raise with Allen bolts, swap block sides to lower. my only real thought on the design, looks good to me though. :),
These are such a brilliant idea. The tail drag on steeper trails is my absolute nemesis. I will definitely be giving these a shot. Thanks for all you do for the OW community.
Please make a video of the wtf tilt kit. Also awesome detailed vid of explaining of the lift/drop kit. Very helpful making my decision. Keep it up I’ll be watching them
I go lift for clearance especially when I'm going up or down steep inclines. As for the wobble problem this trick comes from EUC riding tutorials instead of leaning opposite ways you use a twisting motion of hips and feet to stabilise.
Maybe have a option to purcase the lift and lower kit together if people want both Like have the battery side and both of the different motor side blocks included
@@JakeLearyand still obv have the lift and lower options for people who have their mind made up, if i get a second board that doesnt have w's ill deff be picking up a set of these as kindof and "alternative" to w's
Hi Jake. I just installed the lower kit on my WTF Growler. They are really well designed and machined, nice job. I subsequently bought a lift kit to put on my trail board. I have a question though: Did you have an issue running your battery cable through your lift kit channel with W rails? I feel like there isn't enough slack in the cable to arc up the W and then higher into the new lift axle. Were you and TFL able to bend it around without shorting any wires in that bundle?
It’s no prob at all with Ws. The lift kit has an identical battery side block as the lower kit, but you install it upside down on the lower kit. Only on the lower kit does the cable goes above the outer bolts.
@@JakeLeary not really unless I’m trying to on purpose. Ima get a pair and do a review on my channel. I don’t see much out there on them so be dope to have some info out there for the 200+ riders. Keep killing it my dude
Porque no los dos? The lift-drop kit adds both a lift and a drop to put your board exactly in the middle sweet spot for the best of both worlds. Super easy to install, you don't even have to unscrew the wheels.
Jake - I also emailed Float Life. They suggested I reach out to you directly with this question… So I’m not sure if I’m thinking too hard on this but have you tried the lift/lower kits on the WTFs and what would that feel like? Any benefits or concerns either way? Thanks Could you do a video on testing it out if it’s compatible and what it would be like?
For sure planning to make a video on this. WTF with the lift feels quite similar to tail rails and with the lower kit it feels reallllly nice and low, but without too much loss of clearance.
Jake, I have enjoyed your videos from day one. Your video on foot stance and turning continues to shape how I ride. Thank you and the rest of The Float Life crew for everything you guys do for the OW community. You guys are basically what FM had the opportunity to be!
Yo bud I had asked you some questions on your 1/2&1/2 riding test video, you responded to me and that helped me decide to go ahead and purchase these. I have them on my GTR lowered with an 11” 10A Hoosier treaded. Gotta say I love them. The smaller diameters plus the drop equals nose dive proof. Awesome product!
Hey Leary, I am still waiting to get an email back from the float life before purchasing, I wanted to confirm if I would get free shipping if I do a review because shipping from Canada is not cheap! I really would like the lowering kit to make my ride more stable, also do you know if these axles are lighter weight than the stock axle
As a fellow maker/inventor
Totally

Hey thanks Jake!!
And welcome to the 40 plus group😅🤙🏽
It's not about the age... It's about respect and spreading the stoke 🔥
See you out there
Great Invention Jake!

This looks awesome man! Glad you’re out there innovating.
now I need a drop kit! also lookin forward to your OW shoes, Jake! 🤙🏾
Haha nice! I am super pumped about the shoe project!

This could be pretty helpful raising up with the thicker front and back bumpers on the GT.

A couple people have suggested this since the release, we may wind up doing that

How do W rails feel with the drop kit? Crazy stable and carvy? I’m sure you guys have tried it.
Been riding the drop kit for about a week and loving how it feels combined with a whisper. I could be mistaken, but feels quicker...anyone else?
Hmm maybe just gives you the confidence to accelerate faster?
Good work
If one side is reversible wouldn't you just be able to sell the 2 different hub sides for a combo kit? So a 3 pack instead of 2 separate kits?
We may start doing this! Only one or two people so far have mentioned they might be interested in a 3 pack

@@JakeLeary Ok, thanks for the quick reply Jake. It looked like the cable wasn't going to make the run and I'd have to leave it exposed underneath.
👍🏾
If I drop my board will I need to raise my (FM) fender? I don't see any fenders in the video.
It depends on the tire, but you can put spacers in between the fender and rails and get longer bolts if necessary
@@JakeLeary Thanks Jake. I’ll give it a go.
for a 200+ rider are there any advantages or disadvantages to lowering? Also did it change the range at all. Im about to get the lowering today.
Well for a heavier rider it does take more time and power to brake especially going downhill. Do you scrape the tail heavily on your current set up?
It doesn’t change the range
@@JakeLeary not really unless I’m trying to on purpose. Ima get a pair and do a review on my channel. I don’t see much out there on them so be dope to have some info out there for the 200+ riders. Keep killing it my dude
Is it compatible with ow pint?
No
How easy would be the installations?
ua-cam.com/video/7sdN_owy9lg/v-deo.html
what’s the difference with drop kit vs homebrew rails?
Hombrew rails are replacement rails that do not change the shape of your board. They’re just stronger than stock rails.
Ugh I just realize that I can’t decide between the mobility of the lift kit and the stability of the lower kit
Porque no los dos? The lift-drop kit adds both a lift and a drop to put your board exactly in the middle sweet spot for the best of both worlds. Super easy to install, you don't even have to unscrew the wheels.
Does dropping the board increase chances of nosedives?
It’s more likely that the nose will scrape, but since it scrapes earlier / at less of an angle it’s much easier to deal with if it does happen

These half & halfs are dope AF. Such a good idea. I can't wait to buy a drop kit and provide feedback.
Any chance you could do something similar for the Pint?
Thanks for the breakdown! Looks fun either way.
Good work jake!

Workin on it
It’ll be a month or two before they’re out
