    The Leatherman Free T4 is a multitool with the size of a Swiss Army Knife and the novelty that it uses magnets to keep all its tools in its casing. Is it as good as the legendary Leatherman multitool? Well... I am not convinced... Watch the video!

    Very good review Thijs. Especially regarding the subject of the magents instead of using springs. It means you have intensively tested this tool with your knowledge. Greatly done!

    Interesting points, thank you. I bought a T2 since I never met a job for scissors that a knife couldn't do "ok" at. My biggest complaint so far is how difficult it is to open one hand, even after paying extra for the pocket clip. I suppose I can buy the aftermarket thumb insert but it's a shame to have to do that. I am trying to "force wearing in" by opening and closing it hundreds of times a day.
    The rest of the T2 is great, especially the package opener. I use that a ton and it saves wear on my knife blade too.

      Hi Solocanoe, Agree: the package opener is a blade safer! And I agree on the difficult one hand operation.... Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Cheers, Gijs

      What do you want to use it for? The T4 is fine as a Swiss Army knife but just keep it clean when using file. Or take an other Leatherman and just a knife.

    Excelente video.

    It's a good review but people always go too far in their reviews... why would you file down a big ass piece of metal with you pocket knife while being in your shed/garage when you got the right tool for it ? A pocket knife is something you use when you're not home with all you tools... people prying with the blade on something amd the they break it and then they say the tool is not good... a blade is not for prying(example)
    And yes you can use it one hand only. People don't know how to use period. I'm opening Buck knives without thumbstuds with one hand.. people complain nothing.
    Of course this is your personal review and i respect that but, it's not everyone's opinion and like i said.. there's a proper way to use multitools/pocket knives/knives...

    • @OutdoorguruGearReviews
      @OutdoorguruGearReviews  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Grominator, Thanks for the comment and that you liked the video. I try hard to make good reviews. One thing I would like to explain is the comment on the filking. 'People always go too far', well that is a bit like 'people always drive to fast'. Just not true but... You mean that I go too far. No problem but let me explain the why. I do this in my shed because outside it was raining so hard I could not do it. I've use the T4 a lot outdoors before shooting the video and it started with filing a point to a flattened out nail to make a spearpoint. I discovered that the small metal parts sticked to the T4 and that is just not right. No other reviewer before me talked about this topic so yes, I go a bit further. In my shed I just tried to demonstrate something I could not shoot outdoors at that time. And no: blades are not for prying; that is why the T4 has a prying tool so we agree on that ;-). I hope you understand why I did what I did. Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe, Cheers Gijs

    "This is like really good quality cardboard!"...lmao 🤣! I'm still thinking ill get one, I got the Gerber lockdown pry-tool. Which is alright, except for the most important thing!, which would be an accessible knife. Same problem, I had to dremel some gouges into the ridiculous "notch"!!, we're somehow meant to get a decisive grip on! I'm thinking about drilling the blade and then putting a thread in it for a nice, screw in ,notched piece, like u showed at the start 🤔. Bloody Leatherman! How these magnetic differences can increase sales, well hell, id be doing the same!! Magnets hit people in the subconscious as magic, marketing 101 right there! And I'm on board! Can't argue with the price!! And a concave blade, perfect for me! Thanks m8, top notch review 👌! Im subscribed!..., and You have my details if anything other worldly comes up!! Lol One love brother

    Well I found your review to actually be a useful one. Some of the ones I've seen just didn't give any real information in my opinion. I feel the use of magnets to be an example of innovation and find your con for them a bit nit picky. I have spring locking pocket knives and multi-tools that pick up all kinds of debris when I'm using them and its really nothing to clean them off when done with the work I'm doing. I feel you were a bit harsh calling their magnet idea stupid. To each their own though. The one thing about weatherman I definitely like is their warranty. Again great review sir.

    • @OutdoorguruGearReviews

      Dear John, Yes, I was a bit nit picky about it. I like the magnet idea but don't put a file in the tool then. To me it works a bit like. a red flag on a bull (is that English?) Also because the file is small and not that useable. I had rather see a different tool. But... I like Leatherman don';t be mistaken about that. I use one almost every day. Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe! Gijs

      Hi Evan, You mean the music of the intro? I turned it down in my last video because somehow it was turned on pretty hi in the edit indeed. Thanks for the compliment! Enjoy the Outdoors and Stay Safe. Gijs

    • @et4able
      @et4able 3 роки тому

      Yes exactly the music in the intro. Your voice was so quiet after the music finished, so I had to turn up the volume. It’s a simple fix just make sure to “normalize” the volume of your voice in whatever editing software you are using. Or alternatively, turn up the gain on your microphone to get a higher signal. Look at the metering of the audio on the master track throughout your video and make sure it’s relatively consistent throughout. I think your set is beautiful and I really enjoyed your approach... just want that audio to match.

    I've got to say I actually think it's pretty middle-of-the-road on looks, it's not ugly but it's definitely not good looking in my eyes. I feel like everytime leatherman tries to introduce 'style' into their tools it's a massive miss; the PST is a thing of beauty because it's so utilitarian and pure in its purpose looking.
