I always wondered why this channel doesn't have more subscribers. Maybe it's because it is UK based and not US?? Is it because the focus is not on knives (which is probably the epicentre of EDC videos)?? Who knows....Anyway, I get most of my ideas on EDC here and I thoroughly enjoy what to me seems the absolutely best presentantion of the products anywhere on YT. Thank you Jonathan, for yet another absolutely enjoyable and informative video. Can't wait for your next one....
I agree, and I like the fact that there isn't much emphasis on knives here. That content on some other channels leaves me a bit cold, maybe because here in the UK the knife carry laws are quite restrictive.
I from the US and love this channel. I don’t always need knife videos like here in the US. Sometimes i just want practical edc gear and affordable which i end up seeing here.
Something I like about your channel is that you don't just endlessly yap about random things that aren't even relevant. You got into the important stuff an about 2 seconds in the beginning. Straight to the point. Very appreciated! I subscribed! 😎👍
Volty Switch is a very useful instrument and it fits perfectly in my Leatherman ARC and in the Leatherman Wave as well. A very versatile and ultra-portable micro multimeter. Besides checking batteries, I used the EMF detection feat in order to make sure that the wall socket I was taking apart has no power in it.
Not teaching you to suck eggs but don’t use this or a similar device to check that something is dead, use it to make sure it isn’t live then use an appropriately proved voltage tester before starting work 👍 stay safe
@@nje657 Thank you for your advice. I used the Volty to check for the presence of EMF before removing the fuse, and then checked again, confirming that the power was off.
I got a molle sheath with my Wave, I didn't want the molle sheath I wanted the regular one tho after the upgraded sheath and a bit kit the charge woulda been the better buy
It's been sold out for ages. I have contacted Leatherman several times in attempt to get a solid date as to when they will be back in stock. The popular answer over the phone and via email is the they are "waiting" for the manufacturer overseas to figure it out. C'mon Leatherman let's goooo!
That wild I carried a Gerber for yrs till a yr and half ago I decided to buy a wave while ordering it I got a rachet driver also I got lucky as heck and never knew it
The Leatherman Molle Sheaths were originally designed for the MUT and the MUT EOD ( both discontinued) you forgot to mention the wrench slot located in the molle attachment strap.
I would LOVE the Leatherman Ratcheting Bit Extender but it’s perpetually sold out on their website. Tried buying one on a Leatherman Facebook group and got scammed. I even signed up for the emails for when it comes back in stock, and it will come back in stock on a whim, but they will all be gone in less than a day, and I never get the email.
If someone needs an every day toolkit, isn't it better to carry the Wera Tool Check Plus with you? Or anything similar. Thanks for the nice informative and entertaining video as always.
The thing is most people that are utilizing these toolkits have them built specifically to have everything they need, nothing they don’t and usually quickly accessible (I.e. available on their belt). Something like the Wers tool check plus is going to have excess tools and not be a minimalist option
The Volty link doesn't work. Other than that, great content as always. It is really nice to see uk based EDC content. A large percentage of US EDC kit (knives especially) seem unavailable/illegal here.
Lots of good info… I find the Leatherman pocket clip disappointing. I picked up an iGuerburn Surge clip on Amazon several months ago for around $9 and it is excellent.
Once again an awesome job Jonathan. Great content, great job. I enjoy all things Leatherman and Victorinox. Thanks again, I will share your channel with everyone I know! Carl in the US (New Jersey)
My best Leatherman Accessory this year has been a B/Bury. If you are really into adventure, you need a knife that you can risk that drop and bounce into the drink, from the top of the mast, but never mind, you have several others to hand out.
Some great finds here! I have no use for a Volty but the innovation is great 😁 I like that the videos don't have a lengthy intro, straight to the point 🫡
Zapwizard Designs had a bunch of useful aftermarket LM stuff and some good holsters. The main add-on I use is the ratchet driver, makes the bit driver experience so much better. Volty looks interesting but I’d rarely use it over a standalone tool. I basically never use any bits other than the one that comes with the Arc, but a carbide glass breaker would offer a but more piece of mind
The Wave and Surge have hidden lanyard loops. So that got me thinking what is the one with the pocket clip going to be usefull for. Well if you attach it to your backpack you have a place to mount your tool on the go and quickly release it.
The clip-in lanyard loop used in conjunction with the (hidden) built-in lanyard loop on some models of Leatherman like the Wave and Charge can be used to make a Leatherman into a slingshot.
Very informative. Multi tool/Swiss army knife drops in a pocket or glove box, can't see the advantage of multiple pouches or bags personally. Thanks Jon.
The molle pouch is frustrating. The XL is too big for a Wave to fit well, it drops too far down and it doesn't fit the bit kit well or additional wrench or bit extender... it really isn't great. But the Large version fits the Wave great, but only 1 bit kit again and no side stretch slots... so weird.
Buy the large leatherman sheath with the main pocket and two thin pockets on the inside and the two elastic side pockets. It fits my surge with two bit kits, saw/file blades, extender bar, 711L ratchet, small tweezers and a torch! The extender bar fits on one side and the torch on the other. 👍🇦🇺
That leatherman ratchet driver has been unobtanium for several years now. Nobody has them in stock and Leatherman has never done another run of them. Only way to get one is to spend 100-200 from a ebay scalper.
that’s not true, they restocked it recently and said they’re going to do another restock…but yes it’s annoying to get. i got the last one in stock on a different website
Yes they restocke a miniscule suppy and don't bother to send the email notifications I signed up for with THREE different emails Addy's. Getting sick of Leatherman....
The zipped Leatherman case is a bit pricey - and a bit on the large side - for an EDC kit - but - there is Always a But, but this is a positive one - the case would be marvellous as a Camera case for most compact digitals with charger, cables, spare batteries, SD cards and any other accessories - even lenses for a body.
Correction: the leatherman Molle sheath has another really good pocket just next to the one you showed. You have to squeeze the sheath together to open it.
Hi Jon. Is the 934940 available in the uk ? I've tried to order it thru the uk leatherman site and they are saying £30 to deliver which suggests it's coming from the USA
I dont understand why Leatherman's standard sheaths/belt pouches are so small. Every one i have is very tight on the tool (Wave+) never mind trying to fit a pack of bits.
unless your Leatherman came with those strange bits last I checked everywhere is SOLD-OUT 711L makes some NICE tools although a bit pricey but a GOOD TOOL is worth it!
I personally don't get a case for a Leatherman. I feel the point is to have a small tool with a ton of functionality. If you have a whole purse can't you just have individual tools you need? To each their own, just my thoughts.
Try using a Philips head screwdriver and a proper carbide glass breaker on safety glasses and you'll see if it makes a difference. However I can't see the reviewed attachment being particularly useful in the real world. Still it's not much money.

The Molle sheath can be had by anyone in the US for less than 10 bucks at any army surplus store as its the same thing as a spare 9mm magazine holder. Leatherman quality has gone to crap lately. I'd stick with Victorinox.
its not a case or a kit....its a small bag......and unless its made of gold i can guarantee its not worth anywhere near what leatherman is charging for it.
Appreciate. I see this is four months old. The kit and pouch have doubled in price and the ratchet bit extender is now $120 ish! We need to simple STOP BUYING THEIR 💩 until they come back to earth.

So for the metric users it would be a Ratchet Spanner, or more commonly just one word a Ratchet. Money is the edit, I stoped watching this video after the second time you said the price of an item then said pounds or dollars. Leatherman is encouraging scalpers. Idk why they don’t continue producing it with so much demand. Doing a huge disservice to us consumers
It’s currently in stock for 39.99
