Great video! I've just got the bmcc 6k pro , rs2 with nano setup, with tokina. 11-18mm this is for promo making rather than. Films , so events , wondering as you have rs2 and if your using SSD to film on I think , how can you power the camera and use the USB c for both functions as gimbles draw power from the cameras power to control it or does the nano do it another way maybe I can dump the cables on the ronin 2 as that takes over find it confusing

Great job! How were you able to balance the BMPCC6K on the Ronin S? I've been told it can't be done, but seen some like yourself do it? Also, what was your battery solution for the camera? Thanks man!

@@YannickGalaske How long would that 1TB hold up at 5:1? I think when I looked up the speeds. It was like 300 mb/s. SO that would be like 500 GB over 30 min. But I may be wrong. So if you have 1 hour of footage you alraedy need to buy another 1TB?
Klasse gemacht 👍👍 Wie zufrieden bist du deiner Zeiss Contax Linse?

Amazing operation and ability to keep focus, Yannick. Perfect focal length for this type of sequence. I am very much looking to ditch my traditional 14mm & 35mm lenses for a 28mm Vazen 1.8x Anamorphic. Hopefully that gives me similar dof/view (with additional oval bokeh)
Thanks for the warm words Travis! I agree, 28mm is the most versatile focal length for the s35 sensor of the pocket6K. Love everything I’ve seen so far with the Vazen. Really interesting lens. Right now it’s out of my budget and I feel it is a little bulky. And it’s only available for mft if I’m not mistaken?
@@YannickGalaske The fact that it's not an EF mount is the only thing preventing me from pulling the trigger on this lens. I have a Gemini S35, and who knows what the rear adapter would do with the vignetting.
Yeh I still don’t understand why there are no anamorphic lenses for EF, when most cinema cameras have an EF or PL Mount. Must be a reason. If the vazen would be EF I would’ve already saved up for it aswell, because the image I’ve seen from it on the pocket4k or zcam is closest I’ve seen to real unpayable anamorphics. Not digging the new 1.33x Siriu anamorphic line at all.
This is brilliant mate! Im thinking about doing something like this with the new RS2. But where on earth did you buy such a long micro usb cable for the nano? Cant seem to find any
Thank you William! Yeh, the RS2 looks really tempting to me haha. Seems like the perfect gimbal. I got the cable off of German Amazon. Did cost like 5 bucks 😅
@@YannickGalaske Great, thank you for the reply! Can I ask, was it one of those OTG cables (on the go)? Seems to be the only ones i can find. Where one end is red and the other black. thank you so much for your help!
I don’t even know if I have ever used 3:1. I normally find 8:1 to give me every flexibility I need in post for corrections and grading. I just went with 5:1 here because I had no control over the lighting and was filming against the sun, so it was just for safety. But honestly I have never compared any compression rates. 12:1 for simple corporate shoots and 8:1 for everything else - that’s how I roll.
really appreciate for that. how do you stack those filters ? is it like lens - 1/4 bpm - uriv cut - and lastly variable nd ? Also how did you grade those shots any specisif color grading method lut or powergrade you have? my 3th question will be about gimbal are you happy with it . i was thinking about crane 2s or crane 3s but cant really decide.
Thanks man! Yes, that’s the correct order. I used a Kodak 2393 powergrade by Juan Melara as a base. Then made nodes to adjust skintones, highlights, blacklevels and add softlight, grain and a vignette. The only gimbal I’ve ever used is the Ronin S, so I can’t really compare. For BMPCC cameras it’s probably not the best solution. I’m pretty good at balancing but it takes a while with the BMPCC. I also needed counterweights. But it is manageable and I’m satisfied with the stability. The features I would like to have though would be the option to lock the axis for transportation and being able to change settings without an app. So if I would need to buy a gimbal now I would probably go with the Crane 2s. The 3s seems a bit overkill and too bulky for my liking.
Yannick Galaske definetly 3s looks bulky , is there any reason you prefer kodak 2393 over juans alexa lut btw ? Or do you use both like first using juans alexa and disabling last logc to rec709 lut and instead use 2393. im not really sure on correct order on that
You cannot really mix powergrades. I just love the look of the Kodak 2393 and I think it fit very well for this scene. Gives it a 90s movie feel. The powergrade also gives you a lot of options to play with. Apart from the powergrade I try to create my own looks now instead of using a LUT. I only really use them when it comes to coperate projects where I need to be quick.
Yannick Galaske i think he was saying you can mix both , i remember he said he was converting footage to logc with his powergrade and disable last node and use the kodek lut instead, or maybe both powergrade is same until last node 1 for kodek lut other for rec709 lut. ill probably need to buy it to test . i am very bad on grading myself, i definately need luts or grades :)
Ziya Serinturk oh that’s what you meant. Yeh you can change the input lut at the end node of the Alexa powergrade. So you can adjust a powergrade but not mix 2 different powergrades. I was a total noob as well when it came to color grading but I’ve learned a lot so far from watching tutorials from the qazman. Look him up, if you don’t know him. They are really good and easy to understand :)
Thanks so much man! I used the Tilta focus handle. There is a version which uses np-f970 batteries, that you can power the camera with and even a nucleus nano ff. If you get the plus versions of the battery they hold for roughly 2.5 hours of straight shooting. I normally carry around 3 which last me a full day.
Thanks dude! I really like the grip so far. I think focusing works pretty good and powering the pocket with the npf batteries holds up longer than I thought. The cables are a lil annoying but no deal breaker for me. So all in all I can recommend it!

I wish there was one for Drive. It’s my favorite movie. But Nicolas winding refn has done a lot of these for his older movies like the pusher series for example. Big recommendation.
