    Nice diagnostic. Police Fleet units go thru them alot just around the 100,000 mile mark.

    Thanks for your time
    No warranty left on the truck

      Dealerships in my area deny warranty due to the idle hours . It has over 3.000 hours just idling

    Quick and easy diag’s are the best. Another great video

      Thank you 🙏 I appreciate it. But it’s only easy because the first truck I did took me hours and every time after that I found quicker ways to get the answer I need.

      @@AD-T Absolutely true, first couple times take the longest to figure it out. It’s nice when you can look at the code and pretty much know what the problem is from experience, just have to verify it. I enjoy watching your videos seeing these newer trucks you work on. I don’t see many of the newer ones yet, mostly newer rams and that’s it.

      @@drewsshoplife this week I’m gonna do a video on can network diag on a 21 Silverado 2500 to show old techniques won’t work on newer can bus and how resistors in parallel vs in series.

    Sad that a 2 year old truck already has a fuel pump failure. How many miles did it have and have you had to replace many of these on the L5P? BTW, love your content and keep them coming.

    • @AD-T
      @AD-T  Рік тому

      It’s a 6.6 gas but both of them are the same diag and process . It had 84,000 miles

      @@AD-T HAHA Yep, maybe if I had paid closer attention to the video instead of breezing through, I would have picked up on the desired psi. oh well...my bad. (still to early for a pump anyway)

    • @AD-T
      @AD-T  Рік тому +3

      @@rvorbust6260 it’s the extended idling that ruins the pumps so this truck had almost 3,000 engine hours and that in itself turns that pump easily into a 200,000 mile pump. So every hour is
      60 miles. 3,000 idle hours x 60 = 180,000 miles

      @@AD-THow much(part cost) are the low and high pressure pumps for this engine? Thanks!

      I have to put a fuel pump in one of these. The chevy dealer we called didn't have one and told us it was "too new." 😂 We then had to check every dealer within 100 miles, and we finally found one.

  • @charliemagoo7943

    that pump speed is a dead giveaway. 3000 rpm and 40% command at idle when new

    When you said pump, I thought "Denso high pressure fuel pump", then you said "low pressure fuel pump" and I said, what, this is a Gas 6.6. Way cheaper repair than denso! What do you think, catalytic converters next for repair due to high idle hours?

    • @AD-T
      @AD-T  Рік тому

      I have yet to get a 6.6 L8T in for catalytic converters but I would imagine once it gets to 8,000 engine hours and over 100,000 miles I think those converters won’t last long .

    I have this same code but my truck drives fine(21 silverado 1500 with 3.0 duramax). Dealership said my ecm could be bad but not sure. I've changed the fuel pressure sensor already. Pump is running at correct psi as well. Could it be something else?

    • @AD-T
      @AD-T  Рік тому +1

      It’s almost always the pump. I had new ones out the box that are junk. Even had it where they gave me the wrong pump from the dealership.
