Following up on my original How To Create a Great Tone video from a number of years ago, I figured it was time to do a refresher video and see if much has changed in the way I go about dealing in my Helix tones. I hope you enjoy the video and the tones.

Totally agree with your point that everything is subjective. It’s the same for music generally, it would be really boring if we were all the same... For what it’s worth, I really like the little tweaks you make here. Love the outro tune too - my favourite so far! Thanks .
Your channel seems to always keep getting better and more interesting! This is great stuff
Thanks so much and really glad you are enjoying :-)
Glad I found this channel a little while back before I sold my Helix... these videos are THE most valuable Helix videos out there bar none. Ultimate Presets are killer too! Thanks!
Thank you so much for the kind words and really glad you enjoy :-)
I appreciate the deep dive into the LA studio compressor/hi-lo shelf EQ… 😀 you rock Jason!
Always my go to ever since you first posted absolutely love it ,thanks dude
Thank you so much and thanks so much for watching :-)
I am a HX Stomp and Pod Go user and thank's to your tips I have improved a lot the way my presets feel, and more important, I can now tweak much faster the presets when I take my modeler out there with different PA systems and get the sound almost as equal as if I were using it at home. I owe you a couple of beers if you ever come to Gran Canaria😀😀
Mang...thank you for all you do. SO HELPFUL!!!
My pleasure and thanks for watching :-)
Awesome. Quick and simple. Much appreciated. Good info.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed :-)
Great video and awesome song, Jason! 🎸👍🏻
Thank you so much :-)
Currently touring the UK with my Helix setup Jason. Thanks for this! 👍
My pleasure and have a great tour 😀
Thanks Jason
Brilliant as always . My helix transformed my playing and you transformed what I got out the helix. Thanks .
And my over all understanding of where tone fits in mix and eq compression. Etc
Thank you so much and really glad you enjoyed and found it helpful :-)
Jason just got hx stomp xl as back up .
Do you use a “mastering “ template on it as well ?
Thanks for the inspiration, Jason.... I need to blow the dust off my Helix!
My pleasure and thanks so much for watching :-)
Not related to the video at all but it'd be nice if they could include a tuner on the HX Edit window somewhere.
Also, I'm low vision so I strugle to see the tuner meter on the Helix's screen so it will be nice if they can indicate the flat, sharp, or tuned in the footswitch LEDs like the Atomic Amplifire models do.
Just wanted to put forth the idea for some people to see.
I use HX Stomp XL, where can I check gain reduction input level or output level? Thank you
👍👍
крутое соло, мужик!
Спасибо!
What is your global EQ set to in this?
My Global Eq is always off. Never use it.
🤘👍
My helix has been giving me digital artifacts for weeks now. Anyone got solutions?
Diagnosis requires information. Barring that a good guess is your signal is a little hot. That could produce digital clipping.
What is that digital artifact you are talking about?
It sounds like static/glitchy sound. More so when using IR’s. I’ve tried cutting highs and reducing the master on the amps. I’m so far only found one video to describe it gah
Do you have any fx blocks in the preset that has a "headroom" parameter?

Maybe you are running everything too high in terms of level or volume.
Or you might have a defective one.
