Awesome deep dive into a fantastic new addition to the lineup of Effects available on Line 6 Helix Modelers! It lookes like they've added a level of control and features not available on the original that inspired the Feedbacker. I think adding "Expanded Parameters" is a really smart thing to do, and hope it becomes the new standard of how Line 6 Helix approachs Parameters on the Blocks. Of course we want what the original gear has, but software based models offer creative opportunities to get much more than the originals provided. Thanks so much for putting in the time to help us get the most from these new Effects, Amps, Cabs, and features. Absolutely stunning! 👏😎
Dude! That was informative as usual but for me the real highlight of this effort was the instrumental at the end. INCREDIBLE!! WOW! That was great! I think I’ll just keep on listening to that.
Thanks so much for the kind words :-) Really glad you enjoy the tune. The entire album that it is from can be found here: open.spotify.com/album/2CIBbosXpqiFyoSGJXO20O?si=6gpCFwmTR1u-795jf50DvA Hope you enjoy!
I've been using the Digitech FreQout for years now. (I practically cannot play without it!) I plug my guitar into it, then into the POD Go (or whatever device I'm using). I've also plugged it directly into my Focusrite interface and used Amp Sim plugins and it works great. It'll be interesting to see what kind of results this device brings to the modelling world.
As always, love your work bud…does the ultimate preset contain the feedbacker…apologies if you did address that in the video but ive been on the Canadian Club so cant remember the beginning of the vid! 🤣😂
The Attack and Release parameters are not working nearly as you would expect them to, even in this video. I hope they can fix this. Learned some stuff here, as always...
To me the sound produced is similar to an ebow. Amazing how they just put this in digital form. I imagine if you assign an exp pedal on this you can make violin-ish sounds..
I have a question on the use of this effect, Jason. I use one preset per song with up to four snapshots in each. Suppose I have a lead snapshot, but I want the feedback to precede the lead. What would I have to do to accomplish that? Thank you!
Set your top row foot switches to be your snapshots and put the bottom row as pedals you can turn on and off! Set the feedbacker to one switch and boom!
You mean carry through into the lead? You can add the feedbacker to your preset, then engage it in the snap before your lead. Change the pedal setting to carry on/off state through snapshot changes and it should carry over
How can we control the actual VOLUME of the feedback?? It would seem a bit too loud in IEMS. My guitar volume is great, but when feedback hits, it is very present and loud
Anybody interested in my Digitech Freqout? I bought it a few weeks ago, because that was the one thing that the HX Effects couldn`t do... Located in Germany
I’ll try it but it’s got that dedicated decrease setting with a max of only 6 seconds. There might not be enough signal left. I hope they fix this in an update. The Freqout does not have this limitation.
@@dreadnotpopAh hmm, yeah, when I use the poly sustain for other sounds, I set it so whatever note or sound I'm making, I can just tap real quick to activate it and it'll hold the current sound/note indefinitely. But would be cool if the Feedbacker could hold infinitely for sure
That means you are over the DSP limit. You will either need to remove other block to free up DSP or move something a different path. Hope that helps :-)
It definitely is DSP hungry. Mine didn't show up on my HX Stomp at first, because I tried to implement it in a premade preset. Only on HX Edit I sae it greyed out, and then I understood.
I thought I'd made a followup to my original post, but evidently not, @@nyeehah. By using a "Press" & Release on the Morningstar MIDI controller with the respective CC# for the appropriate Helix footswitch, a value of 64 & Up will engage the effect and a release value of 63 and Below will disengage the effect provided the footswitch type on the Helix is set to "Latching".
The Bob Ross of Helix demos. “Maybe you want a little feedback over here….just some happy little feedback where you like it.” Good stuff Jason.
Bahahaha 🤣 You know I read that in Bob's voice, right?

Another fantastic video, Jason! Every time Helix upgrades their firmware, you’re the first person I turn to!

So so soon happy to FINALLY get the feedbacker. Been waiting a LONG time.
Thanks for this one Jason this is a very needed one for me and just grabed your 370 pack in marketplace , nice
Run an expression pedal to control the feedback would be cool
Thank You Jason for show us this new Feature from LINE6. It's unreal how they did this!!! Thx again, George Amodei

Feedback while sipping a cup of coffee. It’s already a good day. Thanks for the tutorial.
Life does not get better than that 🤣 My pleasure and glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for the demo!

I was the same, couldn't live without my FreQout, until I installed a Sustainiac, so much better is I can hold a note for eternity
That tune at the end is bad-ass. Seriously...nice work!
Thank you so much 🙏 Really glad you enjoyed!
Great video! I've actually been using this instead of the poly sustain. With the lowest attack and set to unison, it works really well.
Great song Jason! The rest was great as always!
That’s a sweet jam at the end there bro!

Jason, always the man! Thanks for the demo and great and easy explanation!...
Great help,
THANKS!
My pleasure and glad it was helpful :-)
So many possibilities with other controllers like the expression pedal. Or you could put this on a LEAD tone snapshot as an automatic effect.
I was also thinking using an expression pedal so you could with practice simulate getting near and far from a cab
great video and as always... awesome playing!
Thank you so much :-)
So useful. Thank you. 😁
My pleasure and glad you enjoyed :-)
Thanks a bunch! Great video!
Thank you. This might come in handy.)
Oh man.. pod go just now git the last update.. hopefully pod go gets this one soon.. ive wanted a freqout pedal forever.. thx for the demo
Perfect for the end of 2112, or Rush’s “Stick It Out” Even maybe U2’s “With Or Without You”

Is there a way to use it as sustainac? For instance you play one note that feedbacks and you play over it without feedbacker
Great effect! I hope we get this for the PodGo in the next update
Did the Pod Go get any of the other polyphonic shift effects? If not, then I doubt it's going to get this one.
Excellent video, thanks!
great tutorial. thanks!
awesome video, thank you

Like a sustainiac?
So now we can play the intro to Flying in a Blue Dream at a manageable level without invoking a cease and desist injunction from the neighbours? 😮

@@jcmoore5819 I can’t do that. The top row is presets so that I can walk through them, song to song.

Got a bit of a Gong vibe. 👍
which output should I set to go direct to FOH? headphone, output , send ( I own a hx XL) thanks
I just updated this shit and now my expression pedals are not responding, I don't know if anyone else has the same thing.
How can we control the actual VOLUME of the feedback?? It would seem a bit too loud in IEMS. My guitar volume is great, but when feedback hits, it is very present and loud
I would try adjusting the Feedback Gain control.
Anybody interested in my Digitech Freqout? I bought it a few weeks ago, because that was the one thing that the HX Effects couldn`t do... Located in Germany
How can we dial it in for infinite feedback?
Poly sustain after could do it

How does it interact with a whammy bar, as in dive-bombing?
I was just messing around with the feedbacker and it tracks whammy dives really well... so much fun.
nice video
Thank you Rudolf 😀

@@JasonSadites That's what I assumed but I was trying to add it to your simple 2203 patch?
I'm wondering Jason, have you found a way to create a momentary foot switch with the Morningstar MIDI controllers?
Yes, you can do that. I used to own one and remembered it was an option in the editor software. Look up a tutorial on the software

Still no poweramp emulation, that's terrible. I can't believe it!
Feedback seems to require a lot of DSP 🤔
LOL
