I want to thank you for flying Delta and everyone else for their positive comments. I've been an aircraft mechanic at Delta for over 35 years. Delta has provided me and my family with a great life all of these years. So I deeply appreciate your comments! And concerning us Aircraft mechanics that work on the planes everyone flies. Our motto is, would we put our family on that aircraft when we sign off the Airworthiness release? Trust me on this, we work and live by that motto everyday and everytime we touch an aircraft to repair anything on it!!! And we have as aircraft mechanics the power of God when it comes to that plane leaving the gate. We can ground that aircraft without any consequences from management. Management is behind us all the way. That's why I love working at Delta! Safety is job #1 and is never questioned.

Jeb, to be fair and transparent, you may want to consider building an itinerary that has you going from JFK to LAX or Vice-versa leaving in the morning on three different days with those three different airlines. By doing this, you give yourself and these three airlines comparable comparisons. JFK-LAX on Delta day one, LAX-JFK on AA, day two, and EWR-LAX on United day three. Now you will really get a true comparison of the three airlines and the service level’s. Well done video!

I took Delta on a round trip from JFK to LAX. I found the first class on that trip included access to their lounges in both airports -- where I was very pleased with the breakfast offerings, as well as the lie flat seats. Although at LAX getting from the lounge to the gate involved a long walk, and a bus ride, and then more walking. The folks who checked me into the lounge told me to allow 20 minutes, and it took me a minute or two longer than that.

Gotta wonder if United was the dinner flight instead of the breakfast flight if they would have pulled out the win in the Food category and then the overall win/tie. skipping the lounge access, i think what this video showcases is service can be spotty depending on the crew, route, plane type and length of flight. But when you put it all together, they all pretty much offer similar experiences. Great video - enjoyed this!

Of those three airlines I have only flown 1st class on AA. They have a direct flight from where I live to back home. The flight attendants have always been so nice. I don’t mind there not being a screen on the seat back because I prefer my iPad. The case I have has a stand that fits nicely in the slots on the seat in front of me. I like the warm mixed nuts and it’s even better when they have the cheese and grapes. It was very interesting to see what the other airlines were like. I enjoyed the video very much.

It's not a question of trip length. JFK-SFO is a domestic Delta One route. Just because a flight has a lie-flat doesn't make it Delta One.

I guess it depends on the flight. In September, (my first flight since before covid), I flew first class United (DEN to IAH), was on a 777-200 with flat bed seats, pitch 78, sparkling white wine served before take-off. Pre-ordered lunch, which was hot and good, (not great). The video screens were big but had to be because they were far away. I didn't see the flight attendants too often, but enough that I didn't lack for anything. I especially liked the app that followed my checked luggage from check-in through unloading and loading at connections and told me when it got to the carousel, (and its #), where I could pick it up. That was new to me, and with a tight connection I was glad to know the luggage made the plane.

I’ve always had positive experiences with American, but my only experience I’ve ever had with Delta was despicable! I guess there's reason why Delta is priced a bit higher out of USA's "Big 3." I have flown cross country in their 737-800s and they did a great job modernizing their interior, plus topping it off with the seatback IFE to pass the time.

So excited to finally get to see our first lounge at the airport. Nope! You do not get lounge access with a domestic first class ticket. Great video. This is a good comparison of long haul domestic but to rank the three airlines accurately, you’d need to see how the first class experience scales down on the regional flights. There’s a much wider difference when you look at how consistent and premium the experience is from a regional flight all the way up to international.

I recently flew United for the first time and flew Delta for the first time in a long time earlier this year, and I definitely have to give Delta the nod for Economy. The cabin felt nicer they offered a choice of a few different snacks on all flights on Delta. United only offered a small bag of pretzels on one of the three flights (BZN-DEN) and it was the shortest one. The boarding process was also much smoother on Delta. I will definitely give the nod to United in that the Embraer 175 we flew from BZN to DEN was much nicer than the 717s we flew from MSP to CLT and CLT to ATL with Delta. We have three different flights home from Costa Rica with United in a couple days so we’ll see if they do any better… I would appreciate even a small breakfast on our four hour flight from SJO to IAH that leaves at midnight…

I think United's is in an interesting position. If you get on a MAX the experience is a bit nicer, great seatback entertainment, bigger windows, and more comfy seats. Also pre-departure beverage is a mixed experience. It is supposed to be back in full force, but I've had some flights with none, some with just water, and some with OJ, Champagne, and water.
The other thing when flying United is you don't have to fly with the cabin you had! 757 and 777 are common on the same route with full layflats. The 757 without the layflats is actually incredibly uncommon.
