Hey guys,
I addressed this in a tweet the day after I uploaded this video, however in hindsight I probably should've left it here instead:
While this series is, to me, fittingly titled *Disturbing* Things from Around the Internet, I completely understand the backlash surrounding the inclusion of number 4. Unfortunately, when making these, I've become more and more numb to what comes off as "disturbing" to me. From here on out, I'll take a step back and consider what should suitably fit as an entry, and I apologize for the mishap.
From how "mundane/boring" Volume 3 was considered, this one is pretty much the antithesis of it. I'll continue working on finding a happy medium and balance in order to ensure that this series lives on for many more entries to come.
Once again, I apologize for the mishap. Thanks for watching.
-Ryan
Nexpo hey man, don't censor yourself, the eternally outraged will find something to whine about regardless, besides it IS called DISTURBING things from around the internet, not mildly inconvenient stuff from around the internet. If they are so sensible they shouldn't be looking this kind of content. just my two cents.
I listen to these, i dont really watch, I listen, so for a while I didn’t understand the backlash until i saw the clips people were talking about.
Honestly, i find this series as a balance of mystery ( with the ARGs and things similar to such, like the reddit posts) and news. Its a good balance and you get to know stuff about cases you have not heard of before.
I understand why people disliked the clips, they are pretty disturbing and honestly, more sad than anything else. Im honestly glad you brought light to the case though, but next time i would put a warning about it being graphic.
I get entertainment from the ARGs and Reddit Posts that are ARGs and such, its interesting to know what people can create when they have their mind to it, the Reddit Mystery posts intrigue me, but for the parts like Adrians, i dont find it as Entertainment. I see it as information, and I sympathize with the victim in that situation. Its horrible, so i dont find those parts as you entertaining me, its more of you informing me.
For future videos, since some people do consider these as entertainment, either warn about graphic content or dont put the clips in. Keep up the good work Ryan!
Hey Ryan thank you so much for addressing this. I’ve reached a similar point of desensitization so I understand that reasoning. I can only speak for myself but I don’t want you to censor yourself at all, just maybe consider tone a little bit while making these compilations. I think the stories such as the one about Adrian still deserve to be talked about but, to me, there’s a time and a place. Maybe those get their own video/series. Maybe I’m splitting hairs here, but that’s my take. Either way I have a lot of respect for you for responding to the issues people had with this video and seriously considering the criticism.
chavaspada, I was one of the people who commented about the content of this video and despite that I agree with you about not wanting Ryan/Nexpo censoring himself. I can’t speak for everyone but my issue wasn’t with the Adrian case being covered but moreso with the context it was in. I’m an avid horror fan and am very interested in true crime and cause of that I have seen a lot of really fucked up stuff, true and fictional. But sometimes I’m in the mood for creepy internet stuff and not real life child torture and murder, yanno? I’m sure a lot of people who don’t have the same tolerance for fucked up stuff watched this and were upset but it wasn’t solely an issue that sensitive people had.
thank you for being mature about this. i think if you were to make a separate series for this kind of thing and put warnings either at the beginning of the videos or just before you show something sensitive, no one would have a problem with that. i think most people, me included honestly, were just a lil taken aback because we were only expecting a halloween special.
if a child comes to you telling you that they've been abused, kicked in the head to the point that bones appear and punched on top of that and you just ignore then you should go directly to hell.
Noone Special don’t not pass go do not collect $200
But yes in all seriousness they should be punished to the full extent. No child deserves to go through what that poor baby went through

Poor woman and poor baby, truly a terrifying experience for both of them :(
I agree. I cannot imagine the torment she endures daily. :(

I was in jail for 2 weeks once. And there was some people in the cell block with me that were being transferred to different prisons. The topic of what would make prisoners kill someone else in prison came up, and the guy told me most prisoners have absolutely zero tolerance for child rapists, or child murderers. To actually think that Adrian Jones’ parents tortured his poor soul for such a long time before leaving him to starve to death is absolutely gnarly to me. To think such a sweet boy can be subjected to such inhumane cruelty sickens me to death. I truly hope he is in a better place now, and that his parents rot in prison.

EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT..! This is INSANITY! Poor poor child.. who EVER would EVER think of a baby dying in this manner? Ugh I kno she was sick, but WTF??! Ugh 😩 Rip poor sweet angel.. you SHOULD HAVE been protected from this monster “mom” 😢💜🙏
The Adrian case goes to show how even your closest neighbors could be doing such cruel acts behind closed doors. Someone could be tortured 20 feet away from you inside their house and you wouldn’t even know.
The case also shows how many people will dismiss claims from young children, even if the claims were true.
One should always trust a child's judgement because it's innocent. I don't trust any adult. They're full of shit
I'm kind of glad you included the 4th video. Now hear me out, I was a detective for 5 years. I had to investigate some of these crimes involving children as a second to the main detective. This horrible horrible shit happens. It sucks to see that, but I've seen that and a few worse things. People need to be aware that this is more common than you'd like to think. It's hard, hell I went home every night during some investigations and cry, out of rage, out of sadness, out of sheer frustration. I'd puke before work, knowing what I'd have to be doing that day. I held a little girl's hand just before she died. I'm now a traffic cop with patrol, because I couldn't keep doing it. It was changing me, so much. It was only a matter of time before I put a bullet in the head of one of these monsters who do this to children.
Seriously, keep an eye out. If you see something out of place, make a report. Get the police (and CPS who work with the police) involved, if it turns out that you're wrong, that's great because no one is getting hurt! If it turns out you're right, then you've possibly saved a child.
You're amazing, man. Thank you for everything you've done and had to go through!
Well damn. Well... Thanks for the info
It's so frustrating that it's as illegal to kill an innocent person as it is to kill an evil monster.
Thank you for your service. I’m a Navy Us veteran, and think police should be thanked more for the sevice they do for us too. So thank you.

The worst thing about Adrian's case is that if he had been believed he would still be alive and would live much better than before
Yeah, very tragic…. Rip Adrian
Listening to that voicemail instantly took me back to when I was a kid. We had a landline with a wireless phone in our backroom that we got when I was about twelve or so. We'd gone into the city to do some shopping, and been gone all day. When we got home, Mom went to the backroom to check the messages, and I followed. She hit the 'play button' and on came the generic 'You have one missed message', and then what happened still haunts me to this day.
A little background for context: my mom' and her older brother didn't have the best relationship; he passed away from a heart attack two years ago, and he was more con man than good man. He treated my mom horribly, refused to acknowledge we were even part of the family (even going so far as to calling her a slut in front of me on the front steps of our house after a particularly bad argument, before calling me a bastard; I was eight when that argument went on) and so we rarely, if ever, heard from him unless he wanted something that could benefit him.
So fast forward to that voicemail and missed message- what we heard was a man in absolute tears. He was sobbing for several minutes, before we finally hear 'Karen, I'm sorry. Karen, I'm sorry. Karen, I need your help. I'm sorry, Karen. I'm sorry. Karen, I'm sorry.' I know my uncle's voice very well; it sounded exactly like him on the message, to the point where I tugged on my mom's sleeve and said, 'That's Uncle Herb.'
Mom called the number back, expecting to hear my uncle on the other end of the line, but all she got was, 'The number you are trying to dial does not exist.' She actually called my uncle, and asked him what he needed her help for, and why was he apologizing, and he replied with, 'Karen, what are you talking about? I don't need help. And if I did, I wouldn't call you.' And she replied with, 'Yes, you did. You told me you needed help, specifically by name. I have the message.' He insisted he hadn't left the message, and had been at work all day. We've never figured out who the man was, why he called us, or how he knew my mom's name, and I've never forgotten it.
To me, it sounds like your uncle was under the influence of something and his conscious caught up to him. Maybe he doesn't even remember calling or leaving the message 😕
Yeah, but what about the number not existing? I'm pretty sure he didn't get a burner phone while being high af just to call them and say sorry. I don't know, sounds creepy...
I know this comment is from a year ago and you might not see it, but I have a plausible answer that might bring you some peace. Many years ago, when I was little, there was a common scam practice in my area (Buenos Aires, Argentina) where a scammer would call a landline pretending to cry. They would get people's names and phones, usually through stealing their mail, and would call desperately asking for help. They usually targeted people who they thought might have children, and would ask form money saying that they were their son/daughter and had been kidnapped. This usually happened in the middle of the night so the parents would be half asleep and scared and would comply with the "kidnappers" and take money to the front door, where an accomplice on motorcycle would pick it up. Although this happened years ago and in a different country, something similar could have happened in your case, whith the scammers leaving a voice message when the phone wasn't answered. It doesn't explain why the caller sounded so much like your uncle, although that could be a creepy coincidence. However, it does explain the number not existing anymore, since these calls were made from burner phones to avoid detection. It even happened to my mom, but thankfully I was asleep in my room and she already knew about these type of scams so she didn't fall for it.
@@victoriamarquez5792 you're right, this makes a lot of sense! We have a lot of scammers like that in eastern europe too, although they usually target old people and say, that their grandkids are in trouble (medical, got caught up with the police etc...) and are in need of money. I don't know why I didn't even think about that.

I’m so happy for you that you are getting to make yourself and your healing a priority. You deserve it.
As someone who works with kids every day, Adrian’s story is exactly the type of thing we wind up having to check for signs of on a daily basis. We absolutely dread ever finding instances of it, but know that the potential is always there. So many kids who are in abusive situations will let someone know about it, and you would not believe how often that sort of thing just gets brushed aside or outright ignored by people who could put an end to it just by stepping in in even the smallest way.
Please don’t write off the things kids tell you. You have no idea when you might be saving a life by getting involved.
I cannot believe how a human could be so sadistic and evil to torture and dehumanize an innocent child.
Molar Mars 66 Agree those Parents are probably

During a psychotic episode the person usually checks out. This isn't of their own free will, mind you. She must have had some serious shit happen to her that caused her to mentally snap like that. She even said herself that she had no recollection of those two days, and that's actually commonplace for some people during a psychotic break.
I'm not excusing her actions though. If a person has serious mental issues they should not be allowed to bear children *at all.* However, I don't think it's right to call her a monster when she's a victim to mental illness, like the son was an unfortunate victim to her own actions.

Few things make me cry on these videos, but I absolutely started sobbing when Adrian's story came out. Those disgusting monsters, I can't even imagine the hopelessness and fear that poor boy felt. He deserved so much more than that, he deserved to live a happy life and play with friends and go to school. Some people in this world are the human representation of a garbage dump, I swear to god.
Some things I picked up from that voicemail :
"I've never been so terrified in my life"
"I gotta (maybe upstairs?) I've got to"
"He's here"
"Somebody, somebody, anybody"
If you pay attention to when the screams really start getting louder, there's another voice... I cant tell what it says, maybe be quiet or something similar. But for a brief moment it's there, and you can hear it, a distinct difference in volume, tone, and distance. Creepy.
Idk how much of this anyone else has found, and there are a few more things I can half make out, but nothing I can say for certain. It's insanely scary, this really sounds like a woman in danger, screaming for somebody to help her. The voicemail ends in the video right as the other voice arrives and her screams become loud and wild and terrified.
I'm sorry to say it, but I don't think this woman lived much longer after this voicemail...
I heard her repeating "how do I get out of here?"
I thought I heard "I got upstairs, I got out". Why can't FBI use their fancy equipment to analyze it and hear more? I've seen this on other cases.
I want to offer some (albeit not much) positivity here. I and others in my family struggle with mental illnesses. This voicemail sounded eerily similar to my mom when she has panic attacks. While it’s still a terrible situation, hopefully we can assume that the person was just having a breakdown like the video mentioned instead of trying to escape from a captor, etc.
The woman's crying has just stuck with me for a couple days now...Jesus it's just so hard to listen to to me.

It baffles and angers me ! I can't understand it, why do these people ignore constant warnings ?! It's insane to me.
Zionna Edwards There’s really no excuse, anyone who ignores a cry for help from a child is just as horrid as the abusers. Especially when helping children *is your job.*
The case of Adrian Jones is the saddest thing ive heard for a long long time.
@Danklas MacArthur execution is too good for what they did. Torture would serve better.
Adrian’s case is so sad. The thought of people being mentally capable of hurting a child makes me sick. I watched that segment and couldn’t help but look at my three year old son with tears in my eyes. There are thousands and thousands of kids out there with similar lives as Adrian. I wish I could help every single one.
Adrian was failed beyond words. Everyone who heard that baby say those words about his father and stepmother hurting him should be sitting in prison, as well.
I feel so bad for the kid being pushed in the swing... Like how did no one hear his cries for 2 days... So sad 😥
Unfortunately even if they did hear his cries, they would probably assume the child was just throwing a tantrum and would leave it at that.
More importantly, how did passerby's not even see the kid dead in those last few hours ??
why didnt he jump off
Mike Leonardi it was most likely one of those ones where you put your legs through the holes.
T. Watson never even thought of that since the picture showed a normal plank swing. That’s very much possible
I love adrian jonas so much. he went through all that torture for so many grueling years. despite his god awful life, he was probably the sweetest kid. i cried.

Same here i got emotional especially someone who had two kids.
Death penalty needs to be restored. President should act on it.
Some of these just go to prove that all children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children.
I have a friend who does exactly what Carin Habsburg does. he was a normal guy who posted normal things. One day, on the way to a camping trip he started to panic about being followed. stopped at a store to buy a suit that he claimed he needed for a disguise. This was the first sign of the rapidly approaching schizophrenia. Anyways that was in 2009 and now he spends his time in care. His facebook page looks identical to hers.
stories like adrian's make me want to believe in reincarnation. i hope he's gotten to live a new life somewhere, with a family that loves him like he deserves.

RussianKirby99 n i c e
Kid diddlers and other abusers dont have fun in the pen, at best they get bitched on the daily, commissary took, treated like garbage ect, at worst they get gang raped and beat to death. Lotta child abusers get sent to the PC (protective custody) yard, but the PC yards have dropout gangs(gangs made up of people who dropped out/got kicked out of other gangs) and they might be snitches and bitchmade pussies but they still hate child abusers and they're still willing to put in work.
Edit: Fucked up thing is some states like Idaho have given special protections to abusers by law, basically as an inmate if you put hands on another inmate who has abuse charges you get charged extra for a hate crime.
I found your channel and have loved all your content. Been going on a binge watching your videos in random order.
This one though, really made me feel un-easy. The story of Adrian was really sad and hit close to home. When my kids come back from school, I am going to hug them. It is inconceivable that a parent would do that to their kids. I hope people like that get punished and locked away in a small room forever.
The other cases you covered also gave me that creepy-crawly feeling. People can be so messed up sometimes. You have a gift in how you present these stories.
It can't be easy to research these stories.
I legit start crying when I hear that case. Is devastating. Not only the fact that he was abused, but that he seeked help. If a child tells you they're being abused, you don't ignore it. Life in prison is too good for those "parents". Sometimes I think "cruel and unusual punishments" are necessary.
@@RommekePommeke the parents need to feel what they've done to their son
@@RommekePommeke They deserve the dearth penalty, they tortured their son for life so I feel as if the death penalty is too good for them to get away with too. I'm not saying torture them because that's fucked up but just saying they should be punished severely as they did something unforgivable and probable one of the most disgusting things you could do as a "human" if that's what they really are.
The inmates, knowing what they did might actually kill them. Guys and girls in jail who have children may see it fit to kill them or beat them, so on so forth.
Not everyone in jail is a horrible sick twisted person, some are in jail for something as simple as stealing a car or damaging property. Maybe a drug abuse that they are recovering from. Then this person comes in who relentlessly tortured their own child. The ppl in jail would go tf get out, die.
Soft Batmen like you are the reason why monsters like this are more prevelant in this world, punishments used to fit the crime not to long ago so there were less psychos around. Then the Batmen came and dpouted they're idiotic nonsense that" if I kill a mass murderer I'm just as bad as him" or "slowly torturing 2 guilty monsters makes me as bad as they who tortured and killed a child" to be just as bad you would have to torture a innocent child, not two guilty monsters.
Rommeke how would making those two monsters feel what they did to their poor innocent child make me the monster? It’s not like I’m hurting someone who doesn’t deserve it. The death penalty is too simple for people like them and solitary confinement just gives them an opportunity to think. Our own minds are the greatest things we have as humans and sorry if this sounds bad but for what those two “parents” did, they don’t even deserve the right to think to themselves. It isn’t fair.
I can relate to how "the boy" part went. I myself was abused by my mom's boyfriend, I ended up telling a police officer & he came to the house & talked to the guy that was it. It ended up making it even worse for me for another year of my young life.
These videos are so well made and so disturbing. I know this is an attempt to make his situation sound better but it's not, the kid is dead and he died in the most fucked up way, he was probably not even scared cause to him this was everyday life with those 2 psychos as "parents" and that's not respectable, that's just terribly disturbing and no kid should have to deal with that shit, I hope at least people learned something from this and listen when a kid tells them their parents are abusing them.

The parents that abused Adrian probably got a real warm welcome in prison. I’ve known people who have served hard time and they’ve told me that people that abuse children get treated much worse by the inmates.
prison gang code
@@korioa it’s really just the unwritten law in prison for everyone.
@Nik Liwanag it’s more the fact that hurting a woman or child is considered a coward move by prisoners.
My dad worked at a prison as a guard, he told me that there were child molesters that would come in on the bus would dig their fingers into the seat and tear their finger nails trying to stay on the bus.
@@murkywaterz7663 that doesn’t surprise me. Even if they get solitary, I’m sure the inmates find a way to welcome them.
I was abused as a child, I reached out to social services and they contacted my stepmother told her everything I told them and released me to her treating me like an attention seeking liar. I have never trusted authorities since. I learned at a young age nobody cares about you and you can only rely upon yourself to make your situation better.
same here. when i was very young, my school caught on that my mother was physically abusing and neglecting me, and they sent a social worker to talk to me about it. i told them everything and then they talked to her about it. she put on the crocodile tears and nothing came of it. i was never helped.
i dont understand why they figure talking to the adult at all would verify anything in that situation. of COURSE the person being accused of abuse will deny it and claim innocence. no one would ever admit to something so incriminating. my mother, in that sense, was a master of deception. she was very good at fooling people in to thinking she was a calm and benevolent woman, but behind closed doors she became a monster to me. but because everyone believed her lies, she was able to get away with hurting me until my dad finally caught on to what was going on and kicked her out. (thank you papa, i love you)
children do make up some fake stories every now and then, but if a child is ever talking about being abused or neglected, it is the responsibility of the adults around them to intervene. children pretty much never lie about something like that. i dont think they have the capacity or knowledge to.
At least you had your father. My dad left me to the tender mercy of my abuser. I stayed and protected my younger siblings until I was 15 and my dad finally left her. At that point I knew my brother and sister were safe I left. It did make me the man I am today.
@@kigut7443 These stories are horrifying. I am so lucky to have such a loving and supportive family all around me.
The only story I have is this. When I was a teenager a younger kid lied to me by claiming he was abused. I investigated as best I could and was conflicted at the time. He was a prankster and was making it all up. He invented sorts of stupid stories to get a laugh. He would persist for weeks with the stories.
Stories like these make my blood boil because I've seen many old friends and kids I knew growing up that were also in abusive situations and that were only made worse by cps/dhs. I fucking hate cps they get paid to sit on their asses and turn a blind eye to any kid who doesn't have bruises up and down their body or cuts all over. They don't ever catch on to anything until it's too late and its fucking pathetic.

In the voice-mail, I believe I can hear her screaming that she wants to leave, and then right before she starts screaming maniacally, I think I can make out another male voice.
Yeah I heard it too. So far I think I've made out "he's gonna (something) me" "I want out of here" and "(something something) so bad" and maybe "(something) gonna die". I heard the other voice too. There's a moment where she starts screaming louder and more frantically I think that's when the other person walked in or got closer to her because soon after those screams you hear him or them talk. It kinda sounds like she said "he's gonna r*pe me" toward the beginning. Also something that sounds like "get the f**k off me" toward the end. It's so hard to tell because I don't think she's speaking into the phone.

They should find that social worker who ignored Adrien blacklist them from any job which involves children.
I feel the same way. I wonder if the social worker was charged with any crime? Like negligence resulting in the death of a child
Ya, social worker and CPS seem to increasingly have a habit of this. It’s becoming a pattern. They seem to ignore the fire and obvious cases, but then take away the child of parents who smoke weed. I do not trust CPS.
*ignore the most intense, not fire
it seems increasingly clear that cps is more about trafficking kids than getting them help
He shouldn’t be in jail for negligence which resulted in a death.
I damn hope that the authorities who failed Adrian Jones faced justice afterward, their lack of action was absolutely detestable and punishment for them would at least serve as an example to potentially dissuade this kind of negligence from happening again.
Even tho i suffered something different (being bullied since i was 3 and losing my childhood to say the least) stories of little children getting murdered or tortured absolutely breaks my heart, like, they’re so innocent to put in those really strong situations and knowing that they were ripped apart from a really good childhood or normal kid memories it’s heartbreaking
that Adrian Jones story is just more proof that CPS doesn't give two shits about child abuse,
wish at least a family member would have saved this kid from his horrible parents.
Stop being bad DIO,
I can't speak too much towards how CPS works as I am located in Canada. However, if the Children's Aid Society (our CPS) is anything like the system you guys have, it can be tricky.
Due in part to how easy it can be for any anonymous schmuck to make a false claim of abuse, there are systems in place that require workers to slowly work through everything, unless BLATANTLY obvious.
Even in those cases, all child welfare investigations are grinded to a standstill because of all the bureaucracies that don't get the child the best care they could possibly can.
We were taught, in college, that the best interests of the child or youth come first and, in situations like this, it is a damn shame that the system, and the bureaucracies, failed Adrian.

You know what makes it scarier about Adrian’s case? That there are most likely so many more innocent children, and adults too, going through a similar ordeal. And that there’s nothing we can do to prevent it because we don’t know who or where these people are. So heartbreaking and chilling.
It's terrible. These poor people are more often than not trafficked and we need to raise more awareness of these horrible types of events
Deffinatley. This happens globally and these people deserve to have a voice and speak out against awful abuse, which in some households is commonplace. My mother has been working a health visitor and children's nurse for some time, and she claims that child abuse, on serious levels happens often in some houses. Police often do not help in these situations as much as they should.

The final entry reminded me of a story, which occured to me a few years ago.
I was visiting my grandmother, we were talking about different stuff, drinking tea and everything was alright. Suddenly she received a call from my younger sister, and became genuinely worried. Sister was crying, saying something indistinct, and sounded like she was in pain or scared, or else. To make the matters worse, she wasn't responding to our speech, like she didn't even hear us.
I freaked up, took my backpack and rushed to the train station to get to the house, because, well, I didn't know, what was happening, and what I did knew disturbed me pretty much (I imagine how it disturbed my grandma, lol). On the run I phone called all my family members. They clearly weren't home, but I had to make sure if anyone was near our house to check WTF was happening. Nobody knew anything, of course, and was only getting worried.
When I already got to the train station and hopped in the departing train, I received a call from my elder sister. She called our younger sibling and it turned out that she was having periods at the time, it did hurt and she was walking around the empty flat, crying out of pain and annoyance, but she accidentally unlocked her phone and dialed up the random number, and the first number in the dial book was my grandma's..
When I got home, everything was settled down, sister explained me everything and said sorry for disturbance, then went to bed and pretty much slept the remaining day. So, it appeared to be alright, but it got the whole family disturbed for a while, lol.
Well this voicemail in this video might be similar to what you were talking about. But I think the voicemail in this video is someone being hurt or the person is going crazy.
