Hillside jank is so tricky, but you are very good at explaining how to work with it. Thank you for the effort you go to with these tutorial type builds. It is an added bonus that you're building a great little city as you go. Makes me think that even I could build a good looking city one day. And who'd have thought that a bulk planting of green trees could come out looking so right?
The timing is so perfect, I was just getting started on this myself after trying to make my beach look like L.A. area. I always love learning from the best. :)
Wonderful addition to the city! Watching this, I realized one of the greatest things I've learned from you, and that is to give myself permission to change things as I play. Other creators either make it such a big deal, or only change things to improve a traffic issue, or whatever, but you will find an asset that you dislike and say, "No, that's atrocious, you're going" and just delete it. It's okay to change things because I don't like how they look. It's ok to completely change an intersection because the first time didn't go so well. It's ok to make the city look the way I want it to, not for traffic or because in the real world it would be done a certain way, but because I want it to be that way. 😍 Because of this, I love playing this game even more! Once again, thank you for sharing your creative talents with us, and thank you so much for giving me space to change things in my gameplay. I know you don't know how I played before or what my cities looked like before, but I know I never would have shared screenshots of my old cities. They were hot garbage! I'll forever be insanely, fiercely loyal!! ❤
I must admit, I need to get away from just cutting off the tops of hills that get in the way, your approach is much more pleasing to the eye. Ty for the VOD. 🥃🥃
I feel like the green tree suffers from the same problem as the vanilla palm in that it turns the ground below it brown. It looks great from ground level, but I hate the way it looks from the aerial view. Anyway, great build as always.
Ohh another good video as expected from you Sir. And I do really love how that observatory is placed, must admit I normally find a giant mountain to put it on in my cities, but perhaps something like this could be something to adopt into a creation in the future
Me who either terraforms the terrain to make it respect me or just makes a regular grid which causes ugly tearing in the terrain: This is actually a great idea!
Great when there is so much demand for residential as you play it so slowly. ;) Love hillside suburbs, much better than those boring flat parts of a city. :D
The observatory reminds me of the Griffith observatory in LA! Have no clue if they still use it but I’ve kinda been using diamond coast as a LA/Miami hybrid to do a kinda nightrun/vaporwave ish city
what a lovely residential area! I especially like the hilltop park :) Just 2 little comments though... (you know me, got to criticize SOMETHING :p) 1. You could try turning the Eldercare center around and placing it against the road behind it? I think that would work better with the slope of the hill. 2. IIRC different buildings themes play differently well with sloped terrain - European HD res for example conforms to slopes rather well. Perhaps something to discuss in the next hilly episode?
always amazing this timelapsemusic. thought there is nothing better than brandon out there, but i was right. Great build as always. Will help me to improve my hillside suburbs
Wow...So lovely! I love the way you used trees to beautify and fill out empty areas. What is the piece of music you had during your detailing part of the video, please? It was lovely too :D
Are u going to use the 81 tiles mod once the city map is fully built on? Apart from that, i think a ferry line can be really useful from downtown to the fish harbour and to the greencity boulevard!
Ferry port would be good 😌 Probably not! This series is intended as a vanilla guide and probably won't move into 81 tiles. We'll see what people want come the end 😊

Thank you Sarah! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Lovely suburban build, the trees really help to hide the vanilla landscape, that’s a great tip! Thanks, as always, Egg!
15:31 "Someone has died at the police station."
Oh, mannnnn I was hoping that City Skylines municipalities didn't have any bad cops! ☹
I must admit, I need to get away from just cutting off the tops of hills that get in the way, your approach is much more pleasing to the eye.

I absolutely understand what you’re saying from an aesthetic point of view, but trees and tree cover do suppress green growth beneath them
I blinked and the episode was over 😭 I’m building on a mountain so this came in clutch
I've discovered so much good music from your channel! Thanks for posting the song names/artists.

"Someone has died at the police station - that’s not good news." Egg’s cute sense of humour. 🇬🇧 Love it!
Love the videos. I have not played the game in years. I get as much or more enjoyment watching you as I do playing. Thanks for doing what you do!

The mix of trees to make a hillside forest is really nice looking.
Going to have a go at this, but overlooking the university
Looks wonderful. Makes me want to start a socal/Mediterranean climate city. The palms just have that jenesaisquoi
I cried console tears watching Egg draw roads with elevation contours visible. 😂

This city is amazing!
On a side note are you going to continue the Foundation series?
Thank you! We'll see, could move it to streams :)
Amazing work, Egg!!!!

It's called Edelweiss, created by Oyncs, but I can't find it on youtube unfortunately :(
@@Haeronalda Thank you kindly. I must have missed it on the screen.
@@Haeronalda Found it! It was on UA-cam after all :)

Great job as always Egg
Excellent work
Another great build Egg.
cool. I really like this build.
Inspirational build Egg! Anyone know how you can stay in terrain view on console or is that just reserved for those on PC? 🤔
I love suburia builds
