I love this city! Even though I have watched every episode, I still can't believe this is a vanilla + DLC city! So much can be done with the base game plus the DLCs, and your detailing is, as always, incredible. I could watch you detail in time lapse for hours, and add in that walking p0rn in the transport hubs...YES PLEASE! Excellent addition to the city, Egg, just loved it. Will watch again, as usual. 😍❤❤
There are some nice ideas... 😁😁😁 I would put the stations on a side track to prevent jams. 21:02 Change the middle section into a street with grass. In this case they have the same width of the streets and the overpasses wouldn't look that ugly...
32:19 might be a good opportunity for another train channel, creating a steep embankment against that road and "hiding" the train from the neighborhood. (It doesn't work that way in the game, but IRL this would mitigate noise pollution too)
I can definitely say I also enjoy watching the pedestrians in the video walking to and from the stations. It's extremely satisfying seeing the work you've put in pay off with barely any people driving. Can't imagine the absurd amount of traffic otherwise
Ah I was playing around with this today based on real life trains in my city. I enjoyed what I managed to setup, but after watching this video I will have to start over. :)
If Carlsberg were to make intercity train transport convergence videos for Cities Skylines then this would be it. Absolutely amazing episode that you just knocked right out of the park. I have been following your vanilla builds since Bergusia and i struggle to remember a better episode created by yourself. Masterful creation!
No judgement here...wanna know why?... Yesterday I fired up the game to see Cims move around the city, that's it. Look at the cars go on the highway too! 😂😂 It's kinda relaxing (unless u got traffic issues 🤯 lol)
I'm a bit behind on this series but you know I just had to watch this one! I enjoyed it and although I have to admit I was expecting a huge central station hub, the idea of different stations, hubs and styles is brilliant! Nice work as always Egg!!
Super bendy bus is an awesome addition to the game! I was having the same issues like 400+ passangers waiting in each stop and i solved it with super bendy buses running on dedicated bus lines. Now line works perfectly well without any bottlenecking with 1k+ passengers
Can’t wait to see the railways humming with internals trains! It would be interesting if you went with a solely elevated train network but that might not be terribly feasible everywhere

I really have to start thinking more about where my rails are gonna sit when I start a city (or just tear through entire neighbourhoods to give way for the rail like a victorian rail baron... But I can't build up the courage to do that when I love all the areas I built and decorated so much ! )

Don’t forget about viewing the map in the traffic routes view as well, like when you were waiting for a train to come to your station, you can click on the train station in the traffic routes view and see arrows indicating all people and vehicles heading to that station and the people and vehicles themselves are highlighted.

For example how are you avoiding the 'Not enough workers' and 'Not enough customers' messages from your industrial and commercial. You seem to have a high demand for residential.
For bus line 6 (the downtown line) would making a local and express line work? It seemed there were few passengers waiting at the beginning and end of the line and the main bunching occurred on the middle 4 or so stops. If there was an express running (the current line) supported by a local line (just those 4 or so stops) would that help? I haven't experimented with this in my own city, but think about it from time to time.

Or would that be too congested on the train line, and also redundant due to the metro and monorail running parallel?
You could run the same set up with an internal line, obviously just don't connect it into a national line. Although in most of my cities I've usually relied on other methods for internal methods. I find trains to be a lil clunky 😌

I have travelled in trains a lot, and it is the only part of designing in which i can say that i am better at than you.

I really have to start thinking more about where my rails are gonna sit when I start a city (or just tear through entire neighbourhoods to give way for the rail like a victorian rail baron... But I can't build up the courage to do that when I love all the areas I built and decorated so much ! )
I tend to place fences along railway lines for increased safety and blocking noise.
I have to get more comfortable reworking things. Get some funky transport lines and paths trying to build around existing stuff :)
