Honest answer: Use the grade of Petrol that is proscribed by your owner's manual. It it says that the cheap stuff is OK, use the cheap stuff. If it insists on higher octane, use the higher octane to protect the engine.
Thanks for another great video, can't wait to get back! No worries about the content Trev, its totally understandable that you have been focused on the Buzzin Lounge. Take care of yourself first, we'll wait, and all your efforts are greatly appreciated! 👍😎🤘
Hi Trev great video as always I really enjoyed when you show around in Thailand looks very beautiful there keep up the great work that you do have a great day today and night
one time me n my mate was in phuket a few year back, took our laundry to get washed one morning, it started raining so we took cover in the nearest bar till it stopped , I think it was about 10 o’clock in the evening before we left 😂😂. Good times. Top video as always bud.
I am talking about pre-Covid here, but the best time of the year for me to visit Patters was always July or August, that is during the rainy season. This was for two reasons. Prices of hotels are a lot lower then than during the peak season, November to Feb. Also the rain cools things down in what would otherwise be the hottest time of the year. The streets don't flood all that much during the odd torrential downpour. Only once did I have water up to my knees when walking around town, and that was one night along Soi Bua Khao. I left my sandals on for the wade, being afraid to stub my toe on something. This didn't do said sandals a lot of good. But well, most Thais I saw wading through the Bua Khao River that night were carrying their sandals, stilettoes and shoes. Thais are not stupid.
I love the pothole ,The afternoon sessions i had there sat in a bar (After to much sun ),Mainly Amon's original place ,watching guys trying to Look/Walk/Navigate the puddles at the same time 🤣They should sell tickets 55 Thanks for your time Trev 👍👍

Good vid Trev. Unless you're driving a sports car or bike just stick to the 91 octane fuel, otherwise you burning money for nothing. Little tip for you mate. When your going over bumps or into pot holes on the bike, lift your backside a little off the seat. Sounds like you're being pile driven when you don't. lol Stay safe mate.
Higher octane means more pure fuel. The higher octane means less gunk and less residue in your engine. Basically here in California if you have a Turbo high performance newer car the high octane grade fuel will boost performance and keep the engine healthy. Honestly for a mid grade engine and Honda, Toyota, etc. you can get away with the cheapest fuel. Good video. Peace!
Hi trev was great to meet you but unfortunately I only got to visit once as I was busy going Koh Larn, kohSamet, Bangkok and lots more, booked to come back in December
Patts in wet season can get wet, but always fun, just stay in the bar knock a few down and wait till it stops pouring. Trevor mate, so enjoyed my first time in Buzzin lounge a few weeks back. Will be back in Patrs Aug 15th will head straight over ( miss Kitty as well 🥰🤣🤣🤣).
I was there June 22-July 19. It maybe rained in Pattaya twice (once hard but it was overnight-ish). I copped one of those Seven-11 plastic coverall ponchos and never used the thing
heya Trevor good ride around really if you (other people reading this) haven't joined discord give it a shot, lots of good info and some times bucket loads of laughs ..... 😉😉Trevor
VERY good places to know. If someone travels for nightlife then a Central Hotel is the way to go. If they are returning back to their room when the bars are closing then noise is not a great concern.
Not really a petrohead, but the 91 / 95 (or whatever) is the octane rating. Your vehicle will have a minimum recommendation which you should follow. (Failure to do so can result in engine knock, which can damage the engine.) Sometimes you can get more performance by using a higher octane rating, but obviously this isn't likely an issue for moped riders.
In the early 90s I remember walking down second road and at Mike mall it was waist deep in flood water.made it to rosies, sat outside and watched small trees floating passed
Whether 95 or 98, depends on the compression ratio of the engine. Most engines today are so compressed that unleaded 95 is the best choice. Since unleaded 95 burns faster than unleaded 98, 95 is required for low compression ratios and, vice versa, 98 is required for high compression ratios or high filling levels.
Great Ride About. Octane 95 gasoline is more flammable and lighter than 91 gasoline. The internal combustion engine performs better with higher octane numbers.
Gas rated at 95 is a bit cleaner grade than gas rated at 91. Basically, gas rated at 95 will have less byproduct and leave less residue on the moving parts within your engine.
As a very general overview Premium unleaded 95 petrol is a type of unleaded fuel that is designed to be more fuel efficient and cause a smoother engine operation, (than 91) which in turn improves performance. It is meant for use by imported and high-performance vehicles, but can be used by the majority of cars.
you have to be carefull with that drains when its flooded as well , ive seen a car on a flooded road with its front wheel down the hole left by a missing drain cover , had it been a bike i hate to think what would be the outcome
As Trev said yes do come to Thailand during the wet season. But it's a BIG Butt don't go to Pattaya or BKK as the weather is at best rubbish. Sorry Trev. Go more up north some 300 km north of BKK and you will find that the weather is far better. We haven't had any rain for days all it's been is that sun thing, as I tap this out it's 33c and sunny. Don't panic you can find there are "ladies" available. Not as in your face as the tourist places but they are there and at much cheaper costs.
Trev, since the turbocharged engines use high compression ratios, the use of high-octane premium gas (91 - 99) is recommended for optimal performance and efficiency. Nevertheless, for my car the cheaper the better. 🤣
91 RON Fuel is low octane rating and prob suitable for scooter, 95 RON is higher octane and suitable for most cars, 97+ is super unleaded for performance cars, standard 95 is about £1.40 a litre in UK at moment
So here's question Trev. They spend so much money redeveloping Pattaya but why is POT hole such a mess and why don't they sort the surface out like all the other areas.?
Hi Trev petrol 91 or 95 and 98 if you get it there, the number is the octane level and if you see E10 or even up to E85, the E is for ethanol the number is the % of ethanol in the petrol. Ethanol is used because its better for the environment its not fossil fuel & it burns cleaner than petrol.
😂 I think I dumb this down for Trev 😂 see my reply but he said petrol heads so I gave him a petrol head reply, cause yeah still have the R33 back in Australia and S15 here in Japan. They where not meant to be investment but fme paid 10k for the S15 dam thing is worth 50k now... 😂 2 year holiday in Thailand, we have 105-8 here in Japan presently around 175 yen a littler. So what that about 1.90 AUD.... NeVer use E10 in a car or bike that’s doesn’t label it on the petrol cap , it will corrode you rubber O rings and pipes and damage the fuel sender unit in the petrol tank. Heads up...
I think it's the octane. Higher the octane faster you go. I only know that may well be the answer as my son raced go-karts. Many years ago cost me a fortune.
The high octane petrol would only make a difference in a high performance engine, the regular stuff would be ok in your bike, unless you upgrade to a ridiculously fast bike or supercar! Higher octane fuel can make engines run a little cooler too, but again you would probably only see a difference in a high performance engine.
The theory is the higher grades will extend the life of your motor, they have done many investigations in the US and found many gas stations use the low grade gas in all 3 tanks

You will only see a difference in performance between 91 and 95 if you have a performance engine. A performance engine that needs it will knock if getting poor quality fuel.
High octane is for high revving engines. Less wear and more efficient for your bike I would imagine, but no motorbike expert. Recommended fuel on any owner's manual.
Certain cars, such as SUVs and modern pickup trucks, benefit from the higher octane fuel. The 89 octane benefits improved fuel efficiency, less wear and tear on For your bike, use the cheaper grade.
