like in the west a while back, married life starts early. family pressures them a bit and children are hard to take care of. family will help so you can go off to work and just send some money home. in thai culture children must honor and take care of the people who gave them life, unlike in the west where you are supposed to take care of your children. (the ungratefull bastards ;)
being new and know nothing of western men and not speaking english the first boyfriend(s) are thai. I found myself once in a bar with these thai men and learned of a concept, to wich i forget the name they gave it.
each of them has 3 girlfriends. they explained that 1 might be busy with a customer, you might loste one and you need time to replace them. 4 apparently is too much because three might show up. the thing that was craziest to me, is that when one of these girls called, they went to pick them up and the girls would give them a little money. the idea being that it is easier to make money for a girl and a GOOD girl considers her boyfriend.
Now back to the girls. hitting 30, speaking a little english and familiar with western man the girls start to consider relationships with western man. especially traditional speaking, man take care of woman. any children would be taken care of too and have an above average life. furthermore, western man are easy to please. if you find yourself with a thai steady girlfriend, she wil what we consider spoil you. rub your head or feet for no reason. getting you something nice to eat.
i've met a bunch of girls 35 to 45 i would love to have as a gf, but they consider me too young. i might see another girl i like, i am way to active and after years of partying they want to slow down. and even the best efforts are useless, because these girls are way too smart for any of us. the romantice thing or seduction, at that point, no chance.
for anyone, in my view, go 35+. can do 30, but, they might still be hussling. there is always a change for that but options are running out and most of these girl wil start to think of themselves and resent a little, those that live of them.
Just listen to there lifestory. you want a girl that is ready. if they focus more on family than themselves, if they want to go dance twice a week, if they are eager to spend all day with you, (other girls) hold off.
a serious girl will give you room and want you to be happy. so they will want to know what you like. anyone that doesn't inquire what you like, see it for what is is, a trade.
anyway, hope it helps. for me, all the girls i think highly off are my age or older and ive been in pattaya 50 weeks or so. at last, i remember my grandfather say once that you should take a woman from her mother or take a woman that "worked" for a few years. I finally start to understand what he meant.

the place (area) you are, culture, age or point in life and a perspective on relationships from both sexes.
I tried to lay out a basic life for an average thai girl moving to a place with farang men. the troubles, expectations, needs and purpose. this changes over time for everyone.
forgive me my 'grammar', i am not native in english and perhaps i kept it too straight to the point to follow for someone just visiting once or twice. in my mind this was for people spending a lot of time in thailand and were considering a long time relationship with a thai woman. i am convinced they understand the outline. anyway, hate that you didn't get something out of it, hope others do.

The eldest is finishing university - Chemical Engeering - this year and I help the boyfriend of my youngest daughter and middle daughter girlfriend. Hello and thank you are the only words I speak in Thai. Everything you say is correct. I am 60 and my partner 46. Its been difficult at times but the life style living has always suited me. My partner is very traditional. She is caring and nurturing, brings me peace and respects me and always follows the decisions I make. Great video!

A dear friend of mine, now departed, was an elderly Danish nuclear physicist (had been a colleague of Neils Bohr. Some of the old timers might have known him). Although brilliant company with a fulfilling intellectual life and a great pool player (physicist!), he had become increasingly lonely. So, he spent his 70s, 80s and early 90s in Bangkok and Thailand with many young girls who were very good to him.
20 years ago, on a very noisy night in Sukhumvit Soi 8 a group of 20'ish English girls were sneering at him and his pretty, young girlfriend, calling him an old perv, etc. He calmly, in perfect English, stated: "Have a look at all the old guys in this bar, laughing with young girls. If they were at home in Europe, they would be sitting by the phone hoping for their children or anyone to ring. But here they can have company for reasonable money with a pretty girl who actually might care a little bit. And she is happy to have money, take care of friends and family, have a laugh and be safe."
After about 30 years in Thailand, I am now in the old fart category and have never been seriously ripped off by a Thai girl (the odd drink, perhaps). Living can be so easy in this country if you are sensible and a bit selective. I have found most Thai girls, including all sorts of bar girls, to be mostly kind and fair. In fact, they are not really stereotypical prostitutes because they often become genuinely fond of you.

What some people forget is Personal Hygiene , Thailand is hot and 1 shower daily is not enough , the Thai girls have a very good sense of smell , so showering 2-3 times daily and smelling good is important , also fresh clean clothes , having your clothes cleaned at a laundry doesn`t cost a lot so make sure your clothes are clean as well

Regards the language , i find alot of thais like you to speak some thai , but certainly dont like you being able to have a conversation , because that means you understand what they are talking about . I had a friend in bkk , who spoke very very good thai , but would always talk english to the thai girls , and when he had his fill at the bar or wherever would always say in thai what the girls where talking about on his way out , and the look on their faces said everything . Lol. Also having been married for 25 years i found that alot of thai women listen to what i call old wives tales , and believe it , but i suspect thats just down to education . And lastly , yes your right , my wife wanted to go back to the uk , for better oppurtunties , which happened , given the chance theses girls want to have a better life , and they are very good at re-educating themselves , i found that the marriages to farangs that failed and went back to the uk , most of the time , the husband didnt want them to work , basically stay at home cook and clean , didnt want his beautiful thai wife to be chatted up by other men , but i would say that most of the time the women are very very loyal , and its the man who messes up in 1 way or another . I met my Thai wife almost 5 years ago, she was a friend of a friend. I was 52 and she was 12 years younger. Only a couple of people have made negative comments, one said am I happy being took advantage of financially. I just replied that I am so happy that if I had a time machine I'd go back 10 years and meet her sooner. A female relative asked what is so great about Thai women besides sex. I said that's just the cherry on the cake, my Mrs takes care of me so well and appreciates me. There's very few 3rd wave feminists in Thailand thank god!

I lived in Pattaya for 2 1/2 years, and I completely agree with you about speaking Thai, they don't seem to like it. Being in my 60's I just wore clean shirts, clean shorts and Asics shoes. Nothing fancy, but clean. One thing about Thai women, they really do watch us, especially if they get to know us in a non bar setting. I didn't chase after one woman when I was there, because I learned that if a Thai woman is interested in you, she will let you know, and you can take it from there if you chose to. But the ones who made it a point of talking about becoming bf/gf or husband/wife, all said basically the same thing. John I know you like beer, but I never see you drunk, and I never see you with different ladies. Then I would tell them I do have lady, just not many. I tell them I am normal man, and they would say, yes I think you are good man, then seriously want to talk about becoming bf/gf, these were women ages 23-55. I agree with you that many of them are looking for an improvement in their living condition and the stability of a relationship. You take care of them, they will take care of you. A bar girl not only wants your money, she wants a way out of where she is. She doesn't think a young guy actually wants a committed relationship with a bar girl. An older guy might overlook her origins because he'd be so grateful to have a much younger woman. An older guy is not going to be all about sex in a relationship. She'd be able to be a more traditional wife with an older guy. He'd appreciate the other things she can do. If the older guy can get her out of there, then, after awhile, the old guy will probably find himself with the problem of having a younger wife with unsatisfied needs. I've met quite a few foreign women like that. Usually, when first talking about their husband, the first thing they say to me is, "He's so old." Good luck with that.

At 42, I've been going to Thailand/Philippines for a while now and you get the same old tired responses back home, let alone what they say behind your back. But it's fine, they can live their boring plantation life in the west while us passport bros live a life of adventure. There is a big cultural difference where the average Thai person is just much nicer and more approachable than any westerner I've ever met. Actually I like talking to my fellow travelers a lot too because we're of the same mind-set. If you're looking for a relationship, age really does matter less but you still have to bring something to the table obviously, like cash and character cause in the end everything in life is a transaction. Coming back in December, life is good!

Women and access to \!/ does not come free. It’s always a transactional relationship. Understanding this is the key. Find the one who you can communicate well with and share common mindsets and goals and all will be great as long as you’re paying your access fee.

I recently got back from Chiang-Mai in Thailand; for walks in nature and visiting temples it's great and the city has an OK bar scene but if you want to see a lot of ladies then I suppose you have to visit Pattaya at least once. For nice beaches the south of Thailand is better (Phuket/Ko Samui). You can find all these things in the Philippines as well (recommend Cebu/Palawan/Boracay). A big plus for the Philippines is that most people speak English very well and it's more of a (Spanish influenced) vibrant culture. You'll find more Americans over there, Europeans/Russians tend going to Thailand. Of course there's also Vietnam, Cambodja and Myanmar. All worth a visit imo.
For 10 years I lived in Pattaya for 5 months a year. My steady was a professional lady who took pride in the fact that I could speak at least some Thai, could handle spicy food and was conscious about how I dressed. She also was OK with me going to my favorite bar on the 6. At the bar one day I told one of the working girls that I was not a butterfly I was a hellicopter, she replied "that's OK I will be your airport, damned near spilled my beer!!!

My confession:
The Thai saying, "like a frog living in a coconut", describes well the world view of most Thai bar girls I've known.
I talked numerous men out of marring bar girls in the 1980's (worked in Saudi then, first trip to Siam was in '82).
In 1994 I was sent to live and work in Thailand by an international company... jumped right in and went against my own advise and eventually married a 19 year old bar girl... I was 41.
Learned Thai by hiring a tutor, not a bar girl. Thai language helped me greatly when I was looking for action other than with my wife (in numerous other ways as well...lol). I could tell the girls what I wanted before we left where ever I met them... made things much much better in that department.
One day in 2005 my 5 yr. old daughter and I boarded a plane to the USA. I was broke and the Thai wife was violent with our daughter...within 18 months the Thai wife found her way to Canada (with a Canadian) and then moved him down to the town next to where my daughter and I lived in the USA. I give her credit for that... but, she continued to be 'nuts'. Today she's 48 and manages two local jewelry stores (I had sent her to gemology school in Thailand) and she is estranged from our daughter due to her behavior.
My daughter graduated University at age 20 and is now 23 and in New York City chasing her dreams... heading to graduate school in November.
Like you, I knew a lot of bar girls, many have level heads on their shoulders; however, some number are damaged like my ex-wife... but, they are frogs living in a coconut... be wise... pay to play with them but DO NOT kid yourself... very few make life partners.

Being 54 now and finding a great life companion who's 49 4 years ago I can honestly say I haven't been happier . Outside Bangers, Patters, Hua Hin and Phuket speaking some Thai is actually a big advantage. For instance, I would heavily recommend new arrivals learning the numbers up to a hundred along with polite expressions like 'sawatdi khap', 'kop kun khap' and 'sabai di'. (Also 'mai ao khap' is great for politely getting rid of pesky ambulant street hawkers). I've spent a lot of time in parts of Isaan (N-E of Thai), where you run into a lot of people with minimal English. (Having said this communication problems are far worse in countries like Nam when you get off the beaten track).
I take your point, Trev, that bargirls tend to think you are Thai savvy, that you've travelled this land and that you know the ropes when you speak a bit of their language. For me this is mostly a positive thing as I don't like to be zoomed in on by the predatory ones. So OK then, let them think it.

I have been lucky enough to holiday in Pattaya 2 times 1 month at a time. 10 years ago and 5 years ago. Got to know some girls on nightclubs like Insomnia. When talking about tanned skin, most of them thought that milky white skin of Asian origin was for those with money and good jobs because they worked in offices etc. those with dark sunny skin were `poor', because they worked in the fields/low-paid outdoor jobs when you talk about what they thought of other people in Asia. Quite different from what we in Europe think of tanned skin. We think nice tan is healthy/have time to take a holiday. ;)

Always excellent content. I'm going on 2.5 months here, two of those in Pattaya. Met quite a few girls and heard their stories. One even showed me the blueprints, company, models and pricing for the house she's building for her, her younger brother and mother. Many of these girls do have a real plan and are doing what makes them the most money to get there. Like anywhere else, there are girls here, too, that are after your pockets just because they know they can and so many fellas making rain on them🤣

Very thought provoking discussion. As someone who visits Pattaya once or twice a year for a couple weeks at a time, my views are perhaps a bit more jaded. As far as the dress code; I hang out in beer bars more than anything else. So, I dress accordingly; nice shorts tennis shoes and nice tee shirt, sometimes sleeveless shirt because of the heat. I do not speak any Thai and have no desire to, lol. I don’t shy away from a Thai girl who may not speak as much English, I use Google translate where I have to. I scale up the dress only as far as a nice button down print shirt on occasion. But that said, I never go out to a bar in flip-flops or a bathing suit; never go topless, ever! I get tanned because I stay at a hotel with a pool and come to Pattaya to relax. I’ve invited girls to my hotel pool and most generally like that offering, even if they can’t swim. I try not to get attached to any one girl; that limits vacation prospects. I have fun with the girls and will repeat with a girl I have fun with. That said, I would never consider bringing a Thai girl back to my home country. As they say, why “bitchinize” them at home! At my older age I do better with a 30 something bar girl than a 20 something go-go girl. If I were to consider living in Pattaya, I’m sure.my attitude and lifestyle would completely change. Just my two baht!

As an previous bar owner ( ao nang - butterfly bar ) i can say that these girls have an hard live , most come from isaan ( i have been there 3 times and its no fun out there ) and there parents are really poor most of the time ( and yes , i have met the parents of the girls that worked in my bar ) . Being back in Holland for a long time now ( about 20 years ) i have learned one big lesson : i consider myself lucky living in the western world where live is a lot easier .

I just came back from Pattaya and what i really noticed during my 2 week stay is that the Thai woman arent nearly as we might call "desperate" as they use to be .
Oh no having a beer gut and not taking care of yourself not dressing nice smelling nice etc... isnt gonna land you a (normal) girl anymore .
Ofcourse you have the typical go go girls who dont care who they go home with but the vast majority of Thai girls the ones worth keeping in youre Line have high standards these days .
And thats good for them and also for us eventually because it helps us being a better person aswell and not having expectations that are just un realistic in long term i mean i care much more about a woman that loves me because of who i am what i like and dont like and have similair things in common than a woman that just cares for me because i'm a male with a heartbeat from the "rich" west and thinks she can milk me dry .

I think it's a fair call to say all girls under 25 don't like men over 50. The less fit ones will bonk for cash but I have been rejected by so many fit young women in my 40s. Over 25 or there abouts they are more open to us oldies but they still aren't attracted to us. I'm 52 and I know all my giks would never see me if I didn't offer my money. They want guys closer to their age for love, us oldies for money

This is pretty perceptive. IMHO it's best not to try to overcome negative reception by being too generous. If it's an unpleasant chore for them, find another. At some point we can no longer even offer a temporary BFE (boyfriend experience) to a lady with whom we want a GFE. The best we can offer is a good gik (sponsor) experience and hope for the same attentiveness we get from a massage shop lady. Take them out to their kind of food (ask where you can get good som tom poo), some light shopping. If you want to see them next trip, buy a little gold and bring back cosmetics they know from Facebook or a Coach clutch or bag (stateside outlet prices are very reasonable). Never fall in love, just "in like", never send money but be generous in person. Just respect them and be happy.

Hi Trev my wife and I meet a lovely Thai girl in 2015 had drinks a few laughs together watched some AFL football and that was that since then my wife passed away in 2018 . My nephews took me back to Phuket in 2019 this lovely Thai girl came up to me and said I know you and after a bit of chat we realized we did know each other from back in 2015 long story short she now lives with me in Australia and we were married back in July this year she is 47 and I’m 67 and it’s all good ,happy to share our story with you cheers Trev.

I find being an older man on a decent pension sure helps with financial security not having to worry where the next baht is coming from. Spend it while you are alive on hot attractive young ladies and enjoy the rest of your life, because I have reached the point in life where I realise I have fewer years left to live then I have already lived is my moto. I just love helping to contribute to the Pattaya social security system for single Thai mothers, and the odd african ones too

Hi Trevor, I’ve lived in Thailand for several years, married to a Thai, and can speak some Thai but far from fluent. I live in central Thailand and occasionally when the wife has some business in Bangkok l’ll drop her off and spend 3-4 days in Pattaya, so I actually did a little experiment to find out if there was any difference in the night out. First 2 nights I didn’t speak any Thai and the next two night I spoke Thai. I found that I had much better nights when I spoke Thai, go figure! 🤔

I agree that all of that matters, but confidence (not cockiness) and a good attitude washes over a lot of first impressions. I'm a t-shirt/shorts/flops kind of person but I treat people well and I'm confident in myself, so it goes over well, when I'm in Thailand.

I've been holidaying in Pattaya since the mid 80s, lived in Thailand in the 70s for 2 years. Believe me Pattaya is all about BUSINESS, the Thai women are there to make money so they can support their families, only a Fool will look for and/or expect "love" from a working girl in Pattaya, Phuket or Bangkok.

Speaking Thai has only ever worked out in my favor. But I'm also fluent, so it's easy to explain why I speak Thai and don't have a girlfriend. I've found the girls really open up, because most of them have never had a real conversation with a foreigner, because foreigners don't speak Thai, and the girls don't speak good enough English to have a meaningful conversation. Like you said, girls like to talk, and when they can talk in their own language, they really light up.

I break up a couple of years ago with my thai girl after 14 years. She's 18 years younger than me and maybe she come into some 40 years crisis. Anyway, not so fun of course. And still I have responsibility for our son and he's 13 years old today. I also have grown up children but they are selfgoing today. He is very good at school and have a lot of friends, play golf, pingpong and skiing and everything is going very well but anyway I must have power to support him.
But as I say not so fun when your soon 60 being alone and I was think this is it, now I'm going to be alone. Yes I know I can meet a swedish woman in my own age but I don't want to have a cow way 30kg more than me. I probably can meet a younger beautiful girl in Thailand but then it's the whole process to bring here to Sweden and I did not have that power.
But around 18 months ago I was at gym as I use to go every day and there was a woman I never seen before. Very good looking and we start to talk to each other. From South america but she speak fantastic swedish. We did not talk so much and most about training. Then we say goodbye and I took bicycle and went home. Day after same woman was there again and we say hello. This time we talk more about ourself and she was in same situation as me and have been divorced a couple of years ago. Same as me her second marriage. She's not from Stockholm but live i a city around 50 km from here and was visiting a friend lived near by gym. Anyway, when I was on my way going home I say to myself 'what you have to loose, ask her out for lunch'. I know very well I was not the youngest or the fittest guy in the gym and this woman was much younger than me and I could see how other men looked at her but what I have to loose. And she say yes so we went out for lunch and then I asked her if she also want to have dinner with me and she say yes and after dinner I drive her to a beaty saloon cos she was fixing her nails (yes I like girls dress elegant and sexy with high heals and good looking makeup). I called her when she was at train going home and say I had a great day and ask if she want to see me again and we decide we would meet day 2 days later. Drive to her city, pick her upp and we get back to Stockholm for dinner and then went home to me and watch a movie. Day after we meet again and was out on town all day and when I follow her to train she ask 'are we a couple now?'.
And after that we together and everything is going well. She is fantastic with my son and as he start to learn spanish in school last summer now he have the best teacher at home so he speak english, thai, spanish and of course swedish today. I have good contact with my son's mother but when we speak is about the boy not so much more.
I pay for the trips when she go to Thailand with our son and I also buy a car for her cos I know this benefit my son.
I can't say I miss Thailand but I miss her family and the time we had together.
But anyway, South america has a lot of fantastic places and countiries and I like her family. They are very religious but nothing new to me cos my thaigirl belived in Buddha as most thai.
This summer we go to California and stay to school start after my son come home from Thailand so from no on it has been a lot of traveling for him but he like to see new places.
She have a son 18 years old and a very nice young boy and soon he start to study in US.
So after rain and darkness it's will always be sunshine even if you don't think so when your in deep shit.

I first came to thailand in 2016 and visit every 12 weeks and stay 1 month . In my experience there is a class thing in thailand village girls tend to go for an older guy because they think and older guy will look after her financially, its better than the alternative of working in a factory or bar . But if you go the trendy areas of bangkok where the high class thai girls are most of them have trendy thai boyfriends who have good jobs . They tend not to go for older foreign men they are more like European girls .

Take the time to be well dressed, many of the thai in the bars and gogo will be impressed some will tell you and some won't but believe me you will be noticed and like very much. Thailand is a fashion hotspot,
watch how much conversation talk it add to your bar experience.
i dress very smart and every girl in bars make the thai saying loh maak = dress well or look handsome.
the security guards for the clubs also give a 👍 up.
Pattaya is for fun so dress up for fun.

I absolutely agree when it comes to the point of speaking Thai hindering your chances of getting close to a Thai girl that you meet. I was surprised the first time when I spoke a few Thai words to a Thai masseuse and got the question back if I had a Thai girlfriend, but when I thought about it myself the assumption they make is understandable. So yes, If I would not have a Thai girlfriend and meet any new Thai girl for social purposes, I would certainly not show the best of my Thai language skills.

I am 60 but don't go out at night usually. My daytime is in beer bars and the occasional gents club. I still am surprised by the often 30 year or more age gap between the girl and the man- this I think is more down to money than anything else. I have always preferred an older woman so I look at those that look and speak well between 40-50. There are plenty out there and it is a more natural fit.

In regards to having a sun tan being a negative thing via Thai women, it’s not a good indicator at all. There are many warm weather states in the U.S., and lots of those are tan year round.

i haven't watched any of the video yet but the word "some" needs to be add to the title. i moved here to pattaya 18 years ago, im 63 now, and the difference between then and now is huge. im tall and slim and not bad looking for my age, but the girls aren't yelling at me anymore "hey sexy man"

The girls in Pattaya think about one thing and it’s is how they can relive you of your money old or young and how they can mug you off for even more money .. My wife only dated older foreigners and no, though I don't judge, she didnt work in a bar. University educated with a career she just personally finds them more attractive provided they take care of themselves with working out etc. and older men tend to be in a better position to bring something to the table economically. And how is that different than what Western Women want. Someone who is able to take care of them. The difference is Western Women bring their liberal attitudes and place to high a value on their own situations. There's a reason so many men are moving to SEA Countries like Thailand to find a woman who still acts like a woman.

My mate brought his thai girlfriend back to the uk she ended up running off with her boss as he had more money 😂 also she didn’t like the way in the uk we don’t go out every night of the week socialising people are usually tired from work the weather in the winter is also depressing dark mornings early days cold wet miserable I’ve been Thailand lots I got a girlfriend but I would not bring her to the uk I will eventually live here when I’ve made my living I’m also not saying it doesn’t work for everyone ofc everybody’s life back in their country is different I just don’t think in the west we socialise like people do in Thailand the weather plays a big part I haven’t been to Pattaya in 4 years now I tend to come to my girlfriends home up country as we have 2 children together and I absolutely love were she comes from great vids btw keep them coming

I think it's all about being happy both ways, No matter what the girls intention or reasoning, if she will commit to you & you are happy, I really don't see a problem.
On my trips to Pattaya, I have made no secret of having a girl friend etc. But that doesn't mean you're now ignored, the girls are so friendly & have a laugh no matter what situation.
I agree the girls go to so much effort to look nice when they go out. In day time I'm not really bothered, but at night I dress reasonably. I won't go out at night with flip flips & shorts in Pattaya. Some do, but I don't. I don't wear suit, but shoes, chinoes or jeans, nice shirt etc.

They deserve respect just as anyone else does & let's remember, not all Pattaya is bar girls. I have not paid once ever. If I go a restaurant, you get dressed up. Many places, you don't even get the choice. Dress respectfully or don't come in.

I found this video both interesting and a little focused in one direction as opposed to something that could be of wider use... I will explain... 1. I think you list is perfect for a guy going to a bar, I think this is EXACTLY what a "bar" girl looks at... 2. I think girls interesting in Foreigners, Bule, Farang etc. take on many looks aside from the bar girl, but the bar girl may be the 1st thing a older foreign man meets (definitely the easiest to find)... that being said, I thing all girls outside of bar girls have a different list than what you provide, and many have a VERY short list. 3. I have been to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc. but most of my experience (ex wife etc.) is from the Philippines... and I think a guy watching this video might be interested in a younger asian woman, and might want some other perspectives (of which there are plenty of comparison videos). Filipina bar girls might size up a prospect the same as what you describe the Thai's, but you can find a girl outside of the bar easy as from one of the many dating sites etc.... (do not think this will keep you away from the scammers... it does not take a bar girl to scam you... a quiet one with 2 kids can do the same!) 4. I like your idea here, I think it is a good idea to help other foreigners prepare themselves for what they might encounter, I hope my comment might give you a point or 2 that leads you to another video (I know I am not taking the time to make one... but appreciate you putting your face out there!)

Knowing the language and the money has both massive advantages and disadvantages. Biggest advantage of knowing the language and money of Thailand is that you are deftly more aware of your environment and surroundings and know when you're being cheated or taken advantage of. A possible massive disadvantage is if you're into the bar scene specifically while knowing the language and money is as stated before is you've kinda made yourself slightly less desirable in the context that those bar girls have to watch what they say in front of you plus they already know a "veteran" of the area is way more difficult to hustle and finesse money out of.

My experiences when the ladies noticed that I spoke a little Thai were consistently positive. But yeah I'm still single, maybe they just didn't want to tell me what they think to my face :)
But I was in the language school for 11 months in 2021.
I think communication is important, even if I'm not sure if that's what all women want.
It can also be impractical if the husband-to-be sits with the family and understands more than he is supposed to when they talk about him, in his presence, believing he doesn't understand a word anyway. 555
Admittedly, it's not enough for me to have a reasonable conversation with a Thai, but they don't have to know that. Just the superstition that I could understand some of it scares some people *laughs*
But the basic question for me is "How can I have a normal relationship with someone if I don't understand him/her and can't talk to him/her?"
I could already experience how this is regulated more often in Thailand.
I did something wrong but no one could explain what.
Then Tirak was mad at me and consistently ignored me for several days. After 2,3,4 days everything was back to normal as if nothing had ever happened.
But that's not enough for me.

I had the same experience. I went to language school full time in Bangkok and lived in On Nut (just normal working class Thai people and the college students live there). I really put myself out there in the community and made myself available, but I never found a woman. For serious relationships I don't think Thailand is a very good dating scene. I'm going to try a 1 year stint in Cambodia and Vietnam and then head to Leyte, Philippines. They have the Morena filipinas that look like Thais.
good on you for learning the language. As someone who worked in Thailand for 11years i csn assure you that if you want to meet a Thai lady who is not 'sop-an-knee' you will need to take a concerted effort in the language and culture. Thais in bars scene of course do not want you to learn Thai as they can manipulate u more easily if you dont... but outside of rhat scene- speak the language.
i know many Thai women who would not dare date a man who has spent any time in Pattaya.
Much as English has phrases and accents that associate language with certsin socioeconomic levels and locations- so does Thai language.
A few classic examples being 'gu' & 'meung' words you hear slung around by bar ppl and is almost always very insulting snd of very low status. So if you are listening to a Thai convo and you hear Gu and Meung (used in relation to the words I and YOU... careful as Meung can sound like a lot of other words) that person does not respect you.

I’m 36 years old. I live in Bangkok for a year and my experience in the bar scene is this. It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you treat them good they will do the same to you, but most importantly, if you have money they will “love you”. The truth is Thai girls would prefer for you to be young but if you don’t have the money, they will definitely prefer an older man over you. If you want a girl to actually like you for who you are I suggest you don’t try to find her in a bar. Your best bet is for you to get away from Bangkok and Pattaya.

Agreed mate, regardless of age pull out a few notes and there will soon be girls about, its not the fact they prefer older but as Trevor said in general older are more financially secure, if we're going solely on attraction 90% are goinna prefer a guy aroujd their own age . Wouldn't say stay away from Bangkok though mate there are over 10 million people that live there, just if you want a loyal girl stay away from the bar scene. My girl is from Bangkok, a few months older and works 6 days a week in an office. Has never asked me for money.
