It's a short enough time that you can pretty much wing it with the hardest part being figuring out what you're going to do for it, in Grants case for this one it's his slides that have all the information about his routes and achievements he's working on.
For food he said paella because it doesn't make a mess and it's easy to eat. Plus you could always have some snacks in form of fruits. Best gamer drink? Water. Breaks id say it depends on what you're playing, if you have unskippable cutscenes etc

For example I was using 1/2 normal 1/2 decaf coffee for the first 12 hours, then normal coffee for the second half 5) Eat non-messy finger food or stuff that sticks together so you don't have to worry about spilling or whatever. 6) Pre-make all of the food and beverages so you don't need to spend mental bandwidth on things. 7) Practice whatever you're doing so when you get tired it hopefully becomes automatic instead of having a collapse where critical thinking has become impossible. With all that in mind it isn't easy, but it allows you to focus on the goal ahead of you, and increases odds of things working out drastically.
1:39:15 Yeah, definitely a pretty stark difference between the campaign and multiplayer, I still to this day remember the Snute vs Titan game on Alterzim where Titan mined out 3 corners of the map and still lost to Snute's swarmhosts and Queens after an hour.

As for "refused to let Hardened Shield reduce damage of her abilities", well that's the thing, Hardened Shield never worked against ability damage. It only ever reduced damage of autoattacks. Nobody did. Helping Kerrigan destroy the UED's Overmind? Raynor and Fenix where also assisting with that and nobody blames them for anything bad. Slaying Raszagal? It was a mercy kill. She even thanked him for it in her dying moments. The only "bad" thing he ever did was revealing Aiur's location, which was completely unintentional and I guess not managing to get close enough to kill the origional Overmind so Tassadar had to martyr himself. But that wasn't malice or even really incompetence. Also it gave the protoss a legend to rally behind for the storms to come.
Whether or not it's justified, *Zeratul* certainly blames himself for all those things. In his own mind, he is responsible for dooming Aiur, then he was tricked repeatedly by Kerrigan, then he murdered the leader of his own people. Then he ran away, rather than becoming her successor like she asked. Then he helped Kerrigan become a zerg again. It doesn't help that he's the only one who knows a lot of the stuff you could say in his defence (like *why* he killed Raszagal), and he's so mired in guilt that he might not actually defend himself properly. And he's a DT, so they can't use the Khala to check. And the people who blame him for the 'Aiur' thing are HT who probably don't really know how DT things work and what he should or shouldn't have known - they just want someone to blame.
Sounds like they hate him for helping Kerrigan. You have people IRL who pretend the whole plot point about Amon's corruption doesn't exist. Now imagine the Protoss in-universe, who saw their own murdered by the Queen of Blades, and who didn't get to play Heart of the Swarm to know wtf happened. They ain't gonna appreciate Zeratul helping Kerrigan become what they believe is just the Queen of Blades again. But in LOTV they just mention him accidentally revealing Aiur's location, AND call him a "heretic" like we're still in SC1, so who knows at this point.
Zeratul got character-assassinated so hard in SC2. In the first game he was this wise but pragmatic ninja master, making the hard choices while everyone else was waffling over what-ifs. In the sequel, he runs around on his own looking for prophetic visions to tell him what to do, constantly lets other people make "heroic last stands" so that he can sneak away in the chaos, and whines about how everyone hates him for things that he didn't seem to regret in the original. It really says something that his Co-op Commander version _literally has him running around picking up prophecy fragments_ while the rest of his army just A-moves toward objectives.
Would be nice to see a video on the main channel similar to your speedrun videos. It would be amazing if this created a new speedrun category for all achievements in SC2 (if it already exists, I can't find it)
I'm not a cool person either, but I do understand the intricacies of whether to be early or late. If it's a doctor's appointment, you want to be HELLA early. I'm talking half an hour at least. You're more likely to get in early if you are early. If it's a party, though, it depends. If it's for a family member, and you're heading to the host's house, you should be a little early. Maybe fifteen minutes, tops. Then you have time to set out what you've brought along. If it's a restaurant or bar, just be on time. If it's your party, though, you can be fashionably late. No more than fifteen minutes, though, or people will think you're rude.
Its not necessarily bad its just horribly expensive. Solar lance costs less energy and can delete entire attack waves. Slots 2 and 3 are way way better because warp in reinforcements costs way to much energy for some reason
its really weird that Kerrigan takes damage from the Psi-Field in Death from Above. I figure the Primal Zerg Goop she requeen'd in would make her immune to it. but i guess not.
On The Reckoning and previous mission, do enemies remove creep immediately if you spread it? Because no creep spreading is the reason everyone was slow.
I know you don't like Swarm Hosts, but I always get a couple with the deep tunnel upgrade. They help to spread creep so fast. I send them out where there is no creep, root them, and send a queen with them to throw down a creep tumor and make it permanent.
At 5:03:47 there were a whole bunch of enemy infantry on the right coming in just after the Apocalypse went off. If it went off just a second later, I feel you could have gotten the achievement. Pretty unlucky there.
Grant needs to learn how to use Alt+Num, it's like Ctrl+Num but it's exclusive. For example, if you have 40 mutas in ctrl group 1 and you grab 20 of them, you can just hit alt+2 and now you have 1: 20 mutas, 2: 20 mutas, instead of having to redo ctrl 1 after moving the 20 units away. 1:49:05
Warfield keeps asking her, how she could do this? Why are you doing this? We saved you. Does he not know that Mensk killed Raynor, or is he just really stupid? I don't remember the game ever saying one way or another if he knew Raynor was supposed to have been killed.
They're not so much bad, as just unnecessary. If you're investing that much into mutas, then you could just as easily make more mutas, slap on the fast regen mutation, and dive bomb targets you would otherwise need to spend a while shooting with BL's from afar. Even if there was, say, a sea of missile turrets you could swoop in to nail one, back off and regen back to full, swoop in again, rinse and repeat.
Day 3 of asking you to play StarCraft 2 Odyssey, imo it's very very good, and its very story driven, it can be big but it has very good cinematics for it's time (it's even older than the invicta that you played, but MUCH MUCH BETTER)!! Pretty please?
2:13:08 you want your lurkers a bit further to the left on the cliff so they start attacking earlier and still snipe things that get through the ramp. Honestly I never had issues with this mission lol didn't know you could even lose units in it without doing it on purpose
I remember a mod that made the both the lurker and the implaer equally good think it was nightmare and it was awsome cause the lurker fells like such miss of blizzard in heart of the swarm
Damn that was a bit painful to watch near the end, fatigue + overconfidence are really a bad combo. Starcraft 2 is such a snowbally game in it's combat so a situation that is very easy can become a slaughter if you have just a few less units or don't take a second to heal them up and regroup. And the fact you stopped making safety saves and also were super distracted in the beginning of missions really made things so much harder for you. That made for good content though =p
yeah its too gimmicky, and the lotv campaign relies way too much on OP spear of adun abilities. would be a lot more fun if you actually had to play starcraft.
@@Norrieification What I did to make it feel zergy was to only allow my to make zerglings and banelings whenever possible. That made it better, but the game was not at all optimized for it and it was felt, in every mission.
No wonder many say that Wings of Liberty wad overall the better campaign. Ehile WoL was designed more around how SC 2 plays, HoTS more often then not felt like a WC 3 campaign (heroes stealing the show) and LotV gave me CnC:Generals vibes (off-map abillity spam).
The mission and campaign design is a fun power fantasy, but the focus on hero abilities does make it feel like less of a Zerg campaign. Heck, reskin "credits" to "gene sequences" and the Terran campaign would feel more Zerglike. It also suffers from having the fewest missions (20, not counting Evolution missions), four of them being no-build (five if you count Niadra's mission), and two of *those* not controlling any Zerg. I like the Hyperion mission as a change of pace (much like the Protoss missions in WOL) but it cuts into valuable Zerg time. Compared to WOL's 24 Terran missions (27 if you count the "split path" missions separately) and LOTV's 22 Protoss missions (plus 1 epilogue mission per faction). Ultimately though it's not the mission design or Jim/Sarah melodrama that gets me. It's how so many of the named Zerg characters follow human English convention for masculine/feminine names. Niadra, Zagara, Izsha, Yagdra feel feminine; Abathur, Brakk, Zurvan, Kraith feel masculine. Slivan, Dehaka and Naktul buck the trend, but as a whole they just don't feel *alien*.

I'm TheSwarm, btw Medic Facilities Grant.
I was this many minutes old when I learned that Grant is a fellow Oregonian. I didn't know before, welcome, rain-soaked brother!
HOLY! last building on panet fall with 3 seconds left... damn
Hey Grant! I missed the stream. Do you mind Redo the 24h stream so I can watch it?
Bests regards 😂
"you dont need to be strong if you have healthy friends" actual vampire
1:58:50 for one of the strangest bugs I’ve seen to date
Would be nice to see a video on the main channel similar to your speedrun videos.
It would be amazing if this created a new speedrun category for all achievements in SC2 (if it already exists, I can't find it)
15 hours I'd say is a good time for this category
that planetfall achievement was beyond clutch. paella superpowers.
Where is the lost Viking episode 🥺
It's the end of the wings of liberty one
@@ryanryan8849bro I straight up missed it entirely. I watched the missions and clicked the HoTS one without actual at finishing the WoL xD
Fuck, I didn't know warp in reinforcements was bad :,( Oops.
Its not necessarily bad its just horribly expensive. Solar lance costs less energy and can delete entire attack waves. Slots 2 and 3 are way way better because warp in reinforcements costs way to much energy for some reason
Heart of the Swarm Mission select gives you every upgrade? Good to know
its really weird that Kerrigan takes damage from the Psi-Field in Death from Above. I figure the Primal Zerg Goop she requeen'd in would make her immune to it. but i guess not.
I guess it attacks the Zerg hive mind, which kerrigan still uses to control the swarm despite having a primal body.
That is an excellent point I had never considered...it's primal Kerrigan, and primal zerg are unaffected...
I saw some cool new things in part 1, so I'm doubly excited for part 2 now! :)
Wow! That mega mass high five of death against the hybrids was absolutely amazing, haha!!
1:09:32
G: Did I messed up?
Niadra: Yes.
My brain finally realized that Phantoms of the Void is Stukov getting revenge on Duran for killing him during Brood War
Pretty unlucky there.
the real advantage to leveling up niadra is the camera being zoomed out. the increased supply is not bad either
I do enjoy seeing bouncing bane, I love using it to cheese kaldir normally
this is probably random but is what you are eating Paela? you've gotten me curious and i want to find recipes. love the content
Oh no, blizzard reforged the primal zerg boss fights!
Are his notes of the run in patreon?
omfg, my grandpa does the literal same thing with chilling in the car and arriving an hour early
*Me playing this game since 2010*:
😮😮😮
I changed my mouse curser of my windows to the starcraft 2 one and now I keep trying to click on units.
Luxury problems.
Warfield keeps asking her, how she could do this? Why are you doing this? We saved you. Does he not know that Mensk killed Raynor, or is he just really stupid? I don't remember the game ever saying one way or another if he knew Raynor was supposed to have been killed.
You're a madman. This was great.
After watching an episode of Realscale I’m looking going ‘why is the Levisthan so tiny?!’
I don't know how well paella works for streams but thanks to you i found another great dinner dish
So what your saying is if I hug best girl isha then the leviathan will throw up?
Are Brood Lords really totally useless in HOTS Campaign? I've always been very fond of the unit - what makes them so bad?
They're not so much bad, as just unnecessary. If you're investing that much into mutas, then you could just as easily make more mutas, slap on the fast regen mutation, and dive bomb targets you would otherwise need to spend a while shooting with BL's from afar. Even if there was, say, a sea of missile turrets you could swoop in to nail one, back off and regen back to full, swoop in again, rinse and repeat.
Moving on to Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm
2:08:50 - 2:08:53
You became the Numa Numa guy!
Couldnt he have quicksaved before a good Armageddon spot and just killed a bunch of units over and over? Or does the counter reset?
He could. If achievement doesn't specify "in one mission" or something you can easily savescam it
Day 3 of asking you to play StarCraft 2 Odyssey, imo it's very very good, and its very story driven, it can be big but it has very good cinematics for it's time (it's even older than the invicta that you played, but MUCH MUCH BETTER)!!
Pretty please?
to be fair, you_ did have at some point turrets that shot banelings
Am i the only one that tears up during warfields death?
I wood be on the floor sleeping with a headache after like 3h... how ??
1:35:52 you haven't lost the drone. I guess you picked it and sent to do smth else . so he left the biomass .
Bruh in the Fire in the sky mission they called achievements Command and Conquer, Red Alert
3:54:00 Aaaah, Steve Danuser. An absolutely garbage tier writer, no surprise why WoW's story has been so bad for years
i know this video is old but you made me laugh calling zigzags a karren lol
Hearing about your dry paella makes me so sad while watching this lol
love your content ❣💯
20:28 Bro fly to heaven 💀💀💀
2:13:08 you want your lurkers a bit further to the left on the cliff so they start attacking earlier and still snipe things that get through the ramp.
Honestly I never had issues with this mission lol didn't know you could even lose units in it without doing it on purpose
I remember a mod that made the both the lurker and the implaer equally good think it was nightmare and it was awsome cause the lurker fells like such miss of blizzard in heart of the swarm
The more times I watch SC2's cutscenes the more I realize how much they're shallow ass "catch these feelings" clips with no real substance
You should play Supreme commander it's a very good rts game
Instead of Slappy Boy how about Slaparration?
Next time you do ling achievement combo the ling recon with swarmlin
you can't switch evolutions
3:09:50 knowledge is power sir
Cool
4:33:20 put the stinky on 'em
Damn that was a bit painful to watch near the end, fatigue + overconfidence are really a bad combo. Starcraft 2 is such a snowbally game in it's combat so a situation that is very easy can become a slaughter if you have just a few less units or don't take a second to heal them up and regroup. And the fact you stopped making safety saves and also were super distracted in the beginning of missions really made things so much harder for you.
That made for good content though =p
2:24:00
Why.. Why are you like this xD
Ive always been dissapointed in the hydra evolution missions, i want my good hydras, not these boring ass impalers or lurkers
I prefer the vile roach
Eyyyyy oregonian!!!
3:30:38
I do not like Heart of the Swarm campaign design. Not Zergy, and way to owerpowered Karrigan.
yeah its too gimmicky, and the lotv campaign relies way too much on OP spear of adun abilities. would be a lot more fun if you actually had to play starcraft.
I enjoyed it, but you're definitely right that it didn't feel zergy. Fun to play, but yeah I wish it was more about massing units and spreading creep.
Slivan, Dehaka and Naktul buck the trend, but as a whole they just don't feel *alien*.
grape!
Disappointing lack of jokes about him being a Ghost at 11 or whenever that one ghost died.
Loving your latest challenge, but man oh man do I hate the writing in HotS. Almost every time the zerg characters speak I cringe.
Time stamps! Dont be lazy 😂
