haha funny
I don't know if your still looking for a good and unusual game to play that isn't RTS but yes Persona 5 Royal and Yakuza Zero or Yakuza Like a Dragon are great unusual titles with lots of silly moments you'd love with your humor to enjoy. Wasteland 3 is another one I would recommend.
On Unsealing the Past, you built an immortal at 3:22:17. You can hear it's unit complete voice line play as you start pushing into the final base at 3:22:57. By the time that immortal joined up with the rest of your army (you can see him coming in from behind a tree on the right at 3:23:34), you'd finished off the zerg.
You killed an innocent Protoss for arriving at the battle when you told him to.
Grant committing warcrimes, thinking no one would notice.
Also: all warcrimes in sc2 speedrun when?
Oh my god.
You are right, That vanguard was innocent!

Not all heroes wear capes.
imagine being a marine of Raynor's Raiders... you started joining him to overthrow Mengsk... and somehow you ended in some strange pocket of space fighting the forces of an ancient god alongside of the Protoss and the Zerg xD
Technically they did overthrow Mengsk, with substantial help from the Zerg
@@Ethan11892 not technically, they literally did that xD what i'm saying is that it had been one crazy trip :p
"...And i'm _still_ stuck in this CHICKENSHIT OUTFIT"
@@SeleenShadowpaw XD
Legit one of those random marines from Backwater Station could be there in Amon's Fall.
It feels like a massive missed opportunity that they didn't explore the whole "the Terran are experimenting with Pylon and warping tech" angle more. Could have been a cool thing for an Amon Devotee faction to explore as a potential 4th campaign between the Prologue and LotV..
Technically its not expanded on, but i think the tenchnology is progressed with how nova gets recalled in her campaign to prevent death?
This whole game is missed opportunities galore when you look at the campaigns. Look what they've done to the Hybrids alone...
all of sc2 is a missed opportunity
@@merlockqueen4137 Yeah... I love those games, but the story and lore is such a mess despite the cool cinematics. Broodwar wasn't some milestone of ficiton but it was comptetent enough that we all got somewhat invested on the characters and the various factions. SC2 just seems like a spint towards the finish line by tying all the loose ends in the most generic, tropey fashion imaginable (prophesies, mind control, all we're missing is time travel to hit the trifecta of crappy plot devices). I miss my backstabs and shaky aliances...
@@Lurco8 A lot of the men behind Brood War were no longer working at Blizzard as the Activision merger started and last few years the last of the really good game / art/ story dudes seem to no longer be there.

6:49:20 Giant Grant Games loses the eggs to Amon.
The rally point disappearing is icing on the cake.
To be fair, the poor dude had been up over 12 hours and was functioning on a heavy dose of caffeine and low caffeine tolerance xD
4:38:20 I'm of the opinion that Karax is actually a smooth almost-liar when under pressure, and he instantly recognized "Oh, this powerful warrior just suspiciously asked if I could mind control him. Which I definitely can do. But he'd at best distrust me if I said as much. Then again, I *do* have a reputation as a science-focused, slightly oblivious egghead. So, for the safety of my own hide, I'll pretend that it could never cross my mind to control him."
So he said out loud "Oh? Sure, I could break any mind control our enemies put on you." while looking innocent as a daisy.
I think he can't actually take control of a Purifier because it's way more elaborate than any other robotic unit no ?
One of my favorite bits of Karax's personality is when, in the short story "One People, One Purpose", he is faced with a potential nerazim assassin/thief, and my boy Karax grabs a knife with his robotic appendages ready to stab a bitch.
Grant, don't forget about the medical facilities
Impossible! Medical facilities on Auir?
@@Cyber_Cheese It is they who have been healing the zerg!
Medic facilities has become a new meme and I'm here for it
But what about the Dusk Merchants?
Switch Medical Facilities to Brutal
My guess for why Last Stand becomes super laggy whenever you activate the Solar Lance overlay towards the end might have to do with the fact that you have so many buildings. Maybe because it cycles over every unit and building you have, to decide where you're allowed to position the ability or something? In any case, the main reason why I think this might be it is that that would explain why it only happens on this mission and no other.
I'm pretty sure that's it. I think it might eve be specifically the monoliths. They have a lot of textures and animations and this is the only mission anyone would build more than a couple of them.
6:04:50 Jim was the one who saved stukov and gets him disinfected in starcraft64, so yes they do know each other.
5:40 The lore reasoning behind the pylons; is they're Nerazim. They're not connected to the network you're using with Karax. Zeratul calls in his own gang.
Is it a good explanation? Not really... But it's what they gave us.
As you said, they wanted the warp in tutorial next mission, despite giving access to it in the prelude. Some things in Starcraft are timeless. Something will always seem unpolished/poorly executed :/
I believe void pylons were to work only for mechanical beings, thats why stalkers were warping in
6:26:32
Grant saying hes not supposed to call Zagara cute because shes an 8ft tall monster.
Grant being an 8ft tall monster can absolutely call her cute because he's Giant.
Zagara is our autistic queen.
Currently grinding for 100% all achievements, so far it took me 13 years
Grant being an absolute legend going all these achievements in 24 hours, meanwhile I can barely stay awake through a regular 8 hour work shift :P
3:26:30 is it possible to beat Unsealing The Past as Vanguard-Pacifist?
19:00 If you are still taking suggestions, I cannot recommend the game Outer Wilds enough.
NOTE: Do NOT look up information past the very utmost basics to see if it fits your interests; it is an exploration/mystery game with only the barest hints of scary to it, and spoilers can often ruin the gameplay experience.
The majority of people who play it agree it becomes one of their favorite games of all time, from what I have seen. It *might* not be quite as good for a UA-cam series as RTS games are, though, considering there are not as distinct objectives or missions.
I will hide under your comment and suggest Baldur's Gate 3, which comes out on august 3rd.
I shall too hide under here and recommend chill games like World of Goo and Little Inferno
Outer Wilds is the best exploration game ever made. Words cannot descirbe how good it is at times
@@leonardopena6895 Also hiding, and following on the Tomorrow Corporation creations, I'd strongly recommend "7 Billion Humans" and "Human Resource Machine" 😅
Protoss: Hierarch we are in terrible trouble. Artanis: just send the void rays. Protoss live happily ever after.
Let's acknowledge that Probius is the real hero of the opening cinematic.

In the original storyboard for the opening cinematic the probe (later named Probius) was the one that charged the banelings~
@@CombatMagic I'd pay to see that
3:05:30 I miss having good AIs who make good compositions and are actually challenging. Both for allies and enemies. It makes it feel more rewarding to work with them and makes them more than just eye candy. It's also very immersion breaking to see the swarm that just obliterated Mengsk on Korhal sending like, 4 units per wave.
On the final HOTS mission your allies periodically send waves that are about that big too. The Swarm is apparently quite stingy.
The problem is balancing. Even in the missions with only one ai ally (and usually it's 2 or 3), if they macroed well, then the typical human player would be upstaged/useless, and an unusually good human player would be dependent on their ally attacking with them, which is usually not what players want. I understand the sentiment, but implementing it is quite problematic.
@@EllipticalReasoning"Making the allied AI not incompetent" is apparently problematic. They manages to do it in Age of Mythology apparently.
The most obvious reason I can think of is Blizzard didn't want your ally to do all the work for you. I'm assuming they just wanted the zerg to be little meatshields.
That said, if I was in charge of designing waves for the AI to assist with, I would give players the option to choose when the ally sends waves (if they have a full wave). Make that option include holding back until they have 1-3 waves to send. If you just need a quick meatshield, have them send 1 wave. If you need them to clear a smaller area while you are distracted by a different objective, make them hold 3 waves before sending. That way its customized to your playstyle but still wont have them completing every objective for you.
If memory serves, unless they changed it with an update the timed defense where Kerrigan transforms can be cheesed with Spectres. They have infinity cloak and enemy has no detectors, so while its a bit slow/expensive, you can basically have an invincible invisible death squad rolling around.
I like AI allies to be competent enough to not die, but I get mad if they're competent enough to win for me, because I really like exploring the map, doing things like Extermination and such; and sometimes AI allies just win before I have my fun
30:35 It's because the building is soooo big. The projectiles that hit the closer edge of the building move super slow because they don't have to go very far, but the projectiles that hit the far edge of the building travel super fast.
4:51:25 Amon's full name
pls explain, i'm being dumb
@@grinm1899 Amon Gus -> Among Us. There's a meme about finding the characters of that game everywhere.
I know you usually prefer rts but Hades is a very good indie hack n slash. Very buttery smooth gameplay, almost no bugs, hundreds if not thousands of dialogues between the dozen or so characters, easy to learn hard to master.
Grant's slow descent into madness is so funny to watch.
If you are having trouble keeping Alarak alive in Templar's Return, I suggest turning his charge off auto cast. You can use it to move away from enemies and to focus nydus worms down (takes 1 charge and one wave). I found it much easier to get through with only him once I made that change.
2:17:13
Nydus Worms! You could fit the entire human race into those and it would be this mission times seven!
Zeratul: Kerrigan, destroying the Hybrid is meaningless.
5 minutes later
Zeratul: the Hybrid have awakened! Strike them down brothers!
I think the thing with disintegrate was becasue of the cutscene script not letting a DoT ability get the kill or soemthing dumb like that
So did anyone figure out the "Pacifist Vanguard Mystery"?
Pretty sure he was the slowest to fire, so everything died before his shots landed. Vanguards are kill hogs, so if you have a few shooting there will usually be a couple with the majority of the kills. It just worked out a little more extreme in this case.
Got to Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void, beforehand I finished Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty and Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm with 100%, like you did GiantGrantGames. Now I've played it for the first time and I'm happy with the last Addon of Starcraft 2. Getting 100% in it, is currently my goal. Your stream for the sweet 100% in all campaigns helps a lot for the achievements
So glad to see the Lettuce Attack again.
as far as the issues the bot has been having the whole time, it just seems like uncleared data buffers lol
"The Gathering" and "Spear of Adun" are both 13 characters (44:28), so if you only overwrite the first so many characters of the string with the new mission title, you could get Spear of Adun Shadow lol, and similar stuff was happening on the other vods. Brings back memories from class a few years back where we did C programming lol
Grant if you're looking at this still for game recommendations then I highly suggest Hi-Fi Rush! It's a real throwback to when games were *just* fun
2:47:45 I always enjoy the Temple of Unification mission. I usually use Phoenix Immortal, rather than DT, but same concept. Also, it is easier if you take out the Protoss base and then take it, so you still have money after the Terran base.
My question: Where was Zeratul's shadowstrike during the end game thing in WoL
50:00 just look a this stalker death , just what happened ???????
The pilot first lived in a Bethesda game before being warped into the SC universe, but he brought some quirks with him
14 hrs. That's the moment where you first really see Grant hit the physical wall of exhaustion. And to think, there's only 10 hrs left after that!
Amons last name got me...
Would it save time to get "deploy pylon"/"warp in reinforcements" achievements done by saving when you have 75 energy, casting it and then loading that save until you get it? This of course takes a bit of time as well, but might be an overall timesave, since you can use the energy in other missions for things that are actually useful.
You could also do the save/load later in the campaign or in the master archives by banking more energy and casting multiple weaker/useless abilities at once.
There might be other uses for this, like saving ~second before "zergling reconstitution" procs and loading enough times.
At least it's something that can be used as a backup strategy, for some of the achievements that otherwise take longer.
He mentions this, but says that doing that while not progressing other achievements is a time waste
@@ryanryan8849 Yeh, got to that point now. Not entirely convinced by the argument though. Fair enough, you are not progressing the campaign, but you can claw back time by picking and using optimal setups for missions. Would be smoother and more consistent at the very least and with some testing and optimization you could break even or gain time.
Probably depends on the type of drive you use too, since Grant does not cut loading times from the total.
Of course possible that he ran the numbers and you would actually end up losing too much to gain back. He clearly put in quite a bit of effort in to planing this, still possible to miss something. Reasoning he gave certainly was not airtight. (To be fair it was more of an off hand comment almost 17h in to the run.)
Hard to say without doing some testing, sadly I'm too bad at starcraft to effectively do that myself.
If I had to guess I'd say it's probably a time loss to do that for the whole achievement, that said it could be viable if you're at 48/50
2:11:00 Giant Grant BassMan featuring GuitarGuyWhoMastersWorstLOTVMission
Yay I can watch the part I slept through
wasn't there an achievement to listen to all of PFenixes movie references?
Watching the vod for a game recommendation I'd recommend Library of Ruina
Good story, wacky combat. Turn based strategy game featuring deckbuilding and dice. (invite people over, beat them up, turn them into booster packs, use that to get better cards and invite better people)
"The difficulty spike is Vertical"
For Spear of Adun would completing the mission when your doing the mastery achivment and going back to do the 15min one give you more credit for deploy pylon?
I never understood why they sent everyone all the time in the epilogue.
Mission one is optimal zerg food with relentless push forward offense.
On the second a terran bastion is optimal.
The third requires a öarge sustainable army, something that almost never needs reenforcements, optimal protoss, who have few strong units and don't need supply lines for new units and can last if cut off.
Large. Cant edit for some reason, not öarge.
TiredGrantGames is very entertaining. I can’t wait for the next 24 hour stream
That cinematic still gives me goosebumps till now
It was always weird to me that you couldn't warp in on the 2nd mission when you could in the prolog.
5:21:49 hard to say hah it's been a while since I've listened to Temp0
But, When I'm Grandmaster is a certified classic
I wish results in a mission affected future missions. But not in a way that just makes future missions easier.
Can't campaign Liberators overlap circles? I thought that was true in Covert Ops.
4:51:25 this got me really good
how do you have access to the mothership at Rak'shir
Love the lose/lose propositions at about 25.5 minutes. Sign me up.
"why do [ai allies] have to be so bad" well, red alert 3 has a (mandatory) AI companion on every map that can basically do the maps for you if you just defend them a little.
it's not great.
Well there's a pretty big gap between "does the mission for you" and sending three cheap units every 10 minutes.
I think good ai allies works really well when the whole game is designed around it. Not an RTS but I always think about Star Wars Republic Commando. The squadmates feel like an extension of yourself and it really shifts the tone of the sections without them.
So for something like SC2 I think being able to give some direction or strat to the ally would be a lot better.
You should play Deep Rock Galactic for a week and we'll see you come back with a beard worthy of a dwarven high king
Rock and Stone brother !
I'd say Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance if you want something outside of the RTS genre.
Oh hell yes. 👍
Mass Effect is a realy good game if you're into character driven 3'rd person shooting
About Temple of Unification difficulty- It's not actually hard mission... If you don't have to do achievements. It's very lax in terms of speed, you can clear it as fast as you like.
Isn't there a mastery achivemnet to destroy all the zerg buildings
at 44:08 it is funny it says "all structuresatchery". Bot became the impersonation of Grants mind.
"I am curious phase smith, can you take control of me".
Who do you think is controlling you right now?
Yes finnaly the Legacy of the Grant continues!
So excited to see this continue :D
I like sleep deprived ggg's humor... can we have him more often?
Would it be at some point faster cheese the pylon's achievement by reloading a bunch ?
My thoughts exactly! Although its a time budgeting thing, so he probably wants to accomplish as much as possible along the way, without reload spamming.
Edit: 3:50:50 Grant addresses this, its just sitting in menus instead of progressing missions. Therefore, its a backup backup strat
I Got Timberborn a few weeks ago. Its a colony management with a cool mechanic of being able to stack buildings to make sprawling skyscrapers. But most importantly, its residents are beavers and its absolutely delightful. Its so cute to watch a bunch of them chillin in a mud bath.
4:21:42 I wasn't aware we could give the hybrid swirlies, must attempt now
2:51:33 Whats with the Zealots? LOL I laughed so hard. looks so ridiculous
Wait, what do you mean by "I thought liberators could fire into each others circles" and that being wrong? Am I hearing it or understnding it wrong? You can bring in multiple liberators and overlap their target circles just fine. They will all fire into that overlapping area just fine. Or, is this a campaign vs ladder difference? For example, in GSL people will seige up 3 or more liberators over a tank and all three will fire to take out the tank. 🤔
Circles can overlap, but each liberator will onlt fire into its own circle. It wont fire into another circle. Grant thought a liberator can fire into another circle if circles overlap.
3:06:00 To answer that question Grant I believe the answer is no. Because I have HATED every game I get really stupid AI team mates. And yearned for smarter ones or somewhat stronger ones every damn time. The problem you often get to with the game? Is do you also hate the AI doing it all for you? Which sometimes occurs if you design it well. But the drawback is to make the player feel useful they force them to do the work of two by handling issues the AI can't because it's dumb. But often times you just hate the fact you got an ally you can't even rely on in a situation where your supposed to be able to do that.
Edit: Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 I feel did partner AI well since the campaigns are built to be done by two players. So to compensate they made your AI ally competent enough that they don't usually need your help. Least on medium and easy, on Hard this is sometimes false. But that just inspires you to be less passive as if you get aggressive enough most of the time? It solves that problem.
Red Alert 3 even had the Starcraft's "What-to-do" system where you could direct them to do what you wanted them to do for efficient support
Really sets it apart from some other RTSes where you kinda just have to pray your ally sends an appropriate attack wave or just doesn't die to like 2 units harass
@@aloe7794 this is very true. Red Alert 3 is my favorite of the red alert series for that reason. I wish Tib wars did that.
I was there to tell you about the egg problem.
Skytoss. Arbiter, corsair and carriers work soooo good in salvation. Best units for the mission.
