Your reviews help me greatly in my search for a new laptop. I feel like i can really trust your opinion since you follow a set formula, and you don’t seem biased towards one brand. Keep up the great work.
Such a great review. I've been researching laptops for months trying to figure out what to get for my daughter who will be starting college in the fall. This is the laptop I had finally narrowed it down to and this review helped me confirm my choice. Thank you!
Great review, but I would suggest adding specific model code, so we can look up exactly what we are looking at since these laptops have so many different configs
Thank you for this review. I ended up buying this laptop in part due to your review. I got this thing on sale for 850, and after doing research on new laptops for 2 weeks straight, this is definitely the one for my usecase. Loved the review!
Just bought this laptop yesterday, thanks for the great review, now have to work out how to get all my stuff to new laptop from old one. Thanks for your work..
Great review! Want to see the new Yoga 9i compared to the Spectre 14. I know you will bring that comparison. Trow in also the Zenbook 14 if possible. 😅 Can't wait. 🎉
Thanks for another great review. Definitely a decent deal for the price. If it had a 120Hz refresh rate screen, it would have been killer. As it stands, Asus Zenbook 14" OLED 2024 is a better deal in my opinion because of that 120Hz OLED screen and with the same 32GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD for $1299 vs this one configured with Ultra 7 for $1240.
My Hong Kong version has 120Hz refresh rate as well as 2.8K resolution, OLED glass screen at around US$1300. Other specs are similar to what we saw it on Andrew's video.
Thank you Andrew extremely much for producing such great comprehensive reviews, non-biased, straight to the point and enjoyable at the same time. I appreciate it so much and wish you and your channel a bigger support. ❤
At $1056.60 as configured, definitely no price gouging here and for what you get, the 2024 Lenovo (Yoga) Slim 7i 14" is a great bang for the buck. It's got a clear 1080p webcam, clear internal mics as well as quad internal speakers that sound pretty good for a Windows machine. However, the speaker audio is still not a match to the Apple MacBook Pro which is still the king of speaker audio. Once again, for the price, this is a very satisfying laptop that won't break the bank and it's highly recommended! Thank you once again Andrew for your spectacular review!! 👍😁
Thanks, Andrew, for another really good laptop review. Lenovo’s naming conventions for their laptop ranges are very hard to follow! In the UK the pricing levels for the latest version of the (Yoga) Slim 7i on Lenovo’s local website are currently not nearly so competitive as in North America - a common story this side of the pond . But when available on GBP discount I agree that this laptop offers solid specs in a quality chassis. Incidentally, I LOVED your MacBook Air review!! Speaking for so many of us!
I enjoy your review cos you put the spec and pricing upfront and on the screen during the first few min of your review unlike some lazy reviewers who just rave on vocally and quickly, during the middle or the end of the review. Keep your reviews coming.
Great video as usual my friend, Man that live stream chat was wild the other night, got a bit out of control haha! Keep up the hard work, lets hope Apple makes some changes at WWDC 24 and ups the base specs of the machines. When you can get 32GB of ram in this, I still don't see how people think the Macbook is value for money! I own plenty of Macs, but my own machines are all upgradable. So will last me a lot longer than those that are not!
Finally, I am the first one to watch and provide comments. :) (so I thought). Oh well, as always your reviews are on point. I am in the market for a laptop for my daughter, so she can get off her mother's laptop. Your videos are so well organized and put together. Having worked for a major news network, you video is well put together. Thank you soooooo much!!!!!
Sorry to missed the live show, had to work. The video and audio is good for me. I think this is a good "budget" laptop and yes go for the 32gb model right out the gate. As others said, a 120hz screen would be better. I think this would be a big seller around the xmas holiday's at the price point.
I'm confused.... my local retailer is selling this model... everyone is talking about it... yet I can't find it at all on lenovo's website (Portugal). All I can find is the Pro model. Great review btw. Subscribed.
Why not get older but I think better Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X 2022 with 3050 and great 3K IPS display with tochscreen and 120 Hz refresh rate? It is still better laptop overall, it's better bank for the buck, display is better. If you buy laptop not for a 1-2 years, can you be sure that OLED won't be berning out after let's say 5 years, 6, 7? My IPS displays absolutely fine after 10-12 years of use.
Glad that I found this channel, your reviews are very professional and in-depth. I am looking for alternatives to the Samsung galaxy book 4 pro and this one seems to be in the same category or a bit better for a cheaper price.
Great review thanks ! I'm looking forward to a video from you on the 2024's Yoga pro 9i 16", I think it might be an incredible laptop this year. Are you planning to do a review on it soon ? Thanks again for your work !
Haha, it might have been me you referenced, for more context: Macbook Air 15' M3 16/512GB is 9400PLN with tax straight from the site in Poland making it 2350USD after quick conversion!
Thanks for the great review, Andrew! I just ordered the Lenovo 7i on their website here in India. Good Specs & Price point justified, Your review helped me be firm in this decision, insightful! ❤ Cheers
@@TechWhoosh so far its been great, it works as it is described in the review videos, impressed with the battery life it lasts around 9-10hrs(with battery saver on) for normal usage like coding, watching yt/movies, the oled display is top notch, slim n light weight to carry around, gets charged in 1hr or less approximately! also you can do casual gaming on this. PS: dont use this laptop keeping on a bed or else it'll get heated up slightly due to no air ventillation
That was a good review of what looks like an excellent laptop with a good spec and an excellent price. It would be interesting to see if it maintained that performance while running on battery. This is where Mac's currently have the edge.
Nice pc. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Camera colors looked a little washed out but that is probably due to the bright lights in your studio. Speakers sounded good although some of the sounds sounded a little distorted probably due to the high volume. I would bet they sound clearer at not full volume. Display looked very good. One question I have is how long is the power cord on the power adapter? Since it plugs in at the power brick directly into the outlet I would think they should make it at a minimum of 10 feet. Anything shorter would be not the best and might cause some inconvence to users. Great review of this unit.
I only recently bought a lenovo T14S with AMD and I can say it is a great laptop with great battery life and keyboard. I have an M2 but I could have bought these T14s, I do not think the M2 was worth it at that price
warning! The hinge holding mechanism on previous models fail pretty regularly, and requires a full top shell replacement. Lets see if this design has made enough changes. Before buying I would suggest using the hinge repeatedly to see if the laptop you have has a faulty hinge.

Lenovo laptop what you are showing is Lenovo Slim 7i but your video's subject title says 2024 Lenovo (Yoga) Slim 7i so I think you need to correct the title..........
Thank you so much detailed review. Just wondering which screen you like better between xps 14 oled, this one and macbook pro 14? Also which has better battery between this and xps 14 oled?
Outstanding review, I'm considering this for LRC/Photoshop photo editing (not video). You mentioned it's good monitor display for editing. Any thoughts on amatuer level photo editing abillity and performance? So far I have priced the 16 RAM/512SSD at $649.00 through B+H. Would you think there would be a strong noticable performance improvement with the higher RAM and SSD machine you used in this review for amateur photo editing needs? (I ask because I'm not tech savy with RAM and SSD terms)
It's a good laptop - especially for the price. That's a lesson for Apple and Dell. Thanks Andrew for the review. I really wish that the Lenovo Slim Pro 9i was still available, which you have previously reviewed. I felt it was a better laptop overall (and there's a debate to be had between OLED vs the 165Hz 3K Mini LED. RAM and NAND prices have gone way up, which has driven up the prices of laptops. One thing I wish that they did do differently is that they added a 99.9 Wh battery - the legal limit. That would mean about 50% more battery life. That would mean a battery life closer to the Macbook Pro 14's battery life. As you've noted, the only other issue is that the OLED could have been a bit faster than 60Hz.
i was choosing this vs the hp laptop , but once i tried the keyboard i knew instantly iwant the lenovo yoga keyboard ... it almost have a feel of a thinkpad , what a keyboard this yoga comes with.

Will you be reviewing the Lenovo Ideapad Pro 5 Gen 9 with AMD? I can’t believe how it can offer so much at such a low price. I'm particularly interested in the 14-inch version with integrated graphics. Thank you for the great videos and keep it up.
It seems slim 7 (US) = yoga pro 7 (offshore) for 2024. is this correct? I know in previous years they called it "slim pro" in the US, but I am noticing that the chassis on this slim 7i this year exactly matches this of yoga pro 7 2024.

That OLED display is the deal breaker. Flickers at such a low frequency that cause headache and higher eye strain compared to PWM free IPS display. Not the monitor you would want to work on for all day...(Only good to watch movies )
To be honest, I am having a problem with all these consumer targeted laptops because most of them last not much longer than 2 years. That's the only reason I prefer buying business laptops where I can still exchange/add memory and storage, myself.
What is the heat dissipation of such a CPU? I find those high poweres cpu 's insane. 115W that emties the battery within one hour. Last year, I have bought myself a latop Ryzen 5 7530U for office work. The fan spins nearly all the time. Has this something to do with the small form factor of only 14 inch? This year, I have bought anothe laptop I7 -1360P but with a 16 inch screen. The fan does not nearly spin as often as my 14inch model. Do bigger laptops have better heat management?
Hands down Lenovo 7i, I ordered one just now.... A user had posted that Asus build quality is weak and it does auto clicks when you hold the laptop on one side n lift it, it's that weak.. dropped it due to this reason and also this OLED hdr display gives more battery backup than 2.8k OLED display which consumers more battery...

Hey @andrew can you do a review on 2 in 1 hp envy 14 core ultra edition and lenovo yoga 7 2 in 1 core ultra edition anytime soon?
Looks nice, Great Review....I dont see a 32GB option on the website

@@schizofennec found the option only under custom build but its over 1200
What is the heat dissipation of such a CPU? I find those high poweres cpu 's insane. 115W that emties the battery within one hour.
Last year, I have bought myself a latop Ryzen 5 7530U for office work. The fan spins nearly all the time. Has this something to do with the small form factor of only 14 inch?
This year, I have bought anothe laptop I7 -1360P but with a 16 inch screen. The fan does not nearly spin as often as my 14inch model. Do bigger laptops have better heat management?
You need to change settings if the fan spins all the time by limiting the cpu power to 99% so it won’t go in boost.
You are saying 32GB RAM but I'm only seeing 16gb on their website
Would you rather get the Lenovo Slim 7i OR the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED Q425MA?
Hands down Lenovo 7i, I ordered one just now....
A user had posted that Asus build quality is weak and it does auto clicks when you hold the laptop on one side n lift it, it's that weak.. dropped it due to this reason and also this OLED hdr display gives more battery backup than 2.8k OLED display which consumers more battery...
Do you know if we are going to get the same laptop with 16 inch screen? It would be nice
Hopefully
