I ended up buying this laptop with the I7 and 32 GB RAM. As a programmer and part time student, this does everything I need. Sound is definitely lacking, but I usually wear headphones and use an external DAC/AMP, so it's not a deal breaker for me.

Excellent review Shahpar! My son is headed to college later this year. I've been debating between the Lenovo Slim 7i and a Macbook Air. It would be great to see a little more in-depth info on the gaming performance. It's great to hear that battery life is 10 hours.

      Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the feedback about the gaming portion, Ill see if we can do anything to make it a little more detailed. With that said while neither laptop is meant for gaming the Slim 7i being a windows PC will have far more compatibility with games. On the other hand the MBA will out perform in the battery life department by a long shot.

I've been looking for a new laptop for over a week now, doing research everyday. I found a ton of different solid laptops, but they all had drawbacks that didn't really fit in with how I planned on using my new laptop. I found this laptop for sale today for $850, and after watching this review as well as a variety of reviews, I'm completely sold. The CPU (I'm getting the core ultra 7), the high RAM and storage, and INCREDIBLE build quality are all things I would not have expected from a laptop around the $800 price point! This is an amazing laptop for my use case, and this is an even more incredible review. Thank you so much for this, much appreciated!

I'm strongly considering this model for photo editing. Do you have any experience with this machine handling Lightroom classic and Photoshop? I am not a professional level photo editor and the 16 GB / 512 SSD should be fine but I can get the 32 GB / 1 TB SSD from Costco for $350 more. I can probably manage dumping images onto a portable hard drive now and then to save cost. I thought I saw on some older reviews that this was a two-in-1 tablet. Not a deal breaker but the thought of a 2-in-one with a stylus pen could be handy now and then. Do you have any thoughts about this machine handling photo editing without much issue and would it be better to spend the extra money for the 32 GB / 1 TB performance?

You should check the 2023 model, yoga slim 7 14 gen8 with an Amd ryzen. Thats hundred times better than this i can't believe they downgraded so much man.
Ok so the 2023 slim 7 had
•much better display: 3k 90hz 14.5 inch with much thinner bezels
•custom amd apu for the device with performance competing with HS ryzen series and and integrated gpu with performance equal to the new intel arc.
Much better speakers: a 6speaker setup with two on the top amd two at the bottom with two on the sides giving amazing sounds as good ass an zephyrus g14 2024.
Battery: with a 70whr battery and the 3k res it still delivered 10hrs of use in general productivity
Weight and thinness: it was just 1.35kg being 0.5 inch bigger in screen and size. Was thinner too, compromised on the io by having 3 usb c and headphone jack but it was worth the thinness imo. I already mentioned that the bezels were thinner.
Its simply the same model but previous gen with amd, their naming convention depends on country to country for example this same device you reviewed in the video is called yoga slim 7i in India. Where the name 'i' simply denotes intel variant of the laptop
This is the biggest glow down in laptop history iv ever witnessed 😪 😂😢
They could have atleast given a wqxga(2.5k) res option to upgrade with 90hz and four speakers with the platonic show on top being actual 2 speakers the way the pro 7 has. It would still make some sense, but this is horse shit in the name of a premium laptop, this should have been the slim 6i ffs.
