@@gregtoope Whoa. Was literally seconds away from getting the Brave 6 (USD $90) when I noticed it was NOT the Brave 6 *Plus* (USD $145) Just a heads up so others don't confuse the two. 🇭🇲👍
Hi, thanks for the video it's really helpfull. One question ; is it possible to use Brave 6 plus as live stream cam?
I got the akaso EK7000 in january 2017. I broke the screen over a year ago an can only see about 80% of the screen but its still going strong today, ( WARNING READ THIS ) only bad thing is when i got a replacement waterproof case it wasn't fully waterproof, NEVER put the camera in the waterproof case till you know the case is fully waterproof, put some toilet paper in the case an then sink it in water for half hour. dont let it float on top of the water, if the paper is dry your ready to go :) hope this helps
this is brilliant, thank you!!
Simply a brilliant breakdown of each camera with a clear, simple and informative review... loved it bud, keep them coming! 👍
Appreciated. Thanks!
You did an abbreviated comparison that we all look for. Answered all my questions. Thanks
love this ! so hard to choose from a thousand cameras on amazon... this is perfect. keep up the good work !
OMG this saved me from an already starting nervous breakdown after not seeing a proper spec breakdown comparison anywhere!
I just love it when a video does exactly what you hope it will. Great review, very well done!
Thanks a ton!
@@gregtoope most welcom! I have a question, do you know the difference between the brave 7 le and the brave 7 which is available to preorder online, I’m a little confused :S
@@Jimmy9904 as far as I know the brave 7 will have external mic support where as the LE did not. Plus I believe that the 7 will be USBC and the LE was Micro USB.
@@gregtoope many thanks, I know it’s an old video so appreciate you taking the time to respond!! Think I’ll go for one of the 7’s in the end, but not sure which one yet haha!

I think i found my go to camera guy!! My first video watched. Cant wait to go home after work to view all ur videos!!
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching! Much appreciated.
Appreciate the time you take for these videos. You gained another subscriber. I just got the Brave 6 Plus a few issues/ questions. The internal mic when there is no sound has a constant chirp circuit sound and in low light with EIS in I get tinted bars 2-4 on the shot. External mic works great!
Where did you buy the brave 6 plus? seems every single one is sold out everywhere I look.
Thanks for this video. I purchased the V50 Pro in September 2022 and it now has the USB Type-C connector on the side.
Thanks for explaining it to me sir much appreciated 👍🏼
Super great review. Grateful for the information!

Great review. One of the best out together..well explained.
Much appreciated! We have some more videos on the Akaso Brave 7 and the New Brave 8
Excellent video. Really helpful
Excellent video. I have the 7000 because I do kayaking, fishing, and hunting videos from time to time. What I hate, and what no one talks about, is (1) lighting needs and (2) the case "pings" on the audio when you're moving and the camera shifts a little.
Regarding the lighting needs, unless it is super bright...the 7000 just won't do. I tried using it for a regular video inside my house. I had 6 LED studio lights on me and it looked like I was shooting at night.
As for the plastic case, any movement of the camera (when in the case), is picked up and makes a loud pinging sound that is impossible to clean up in editing.
I don't know why reviewers never address the issues of indoor lighting (since most small vloggers will use it for i doors as well) and the use of the camera in an aquatic setting (since water-based activities are really huge).
Great video, many thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review. I’ve go 2 of the v50pro’s but Ian ready to change up this year. I would love to see Akaso up their game in their remote offering. That would be huge for we moto vloggers.

Great Review 👏👏. Thank you for such detail. I totally agree about the Brave 7 LE. The 7LE and the V50 Pro SE are the same price right now on Amazon. I went V50 Pro SE because of external mic support.
Totally agree. But the Brave 7 is coming out right away. So that one will have external mic support. Thats the one im most looking forward to trying!

Thanks for your AKASO rundown. I have the Brave 7 LE. As a beginner, I really like the camera for the money. But like you said... no mic jack. Sooo... I'm now looking into the Brave 6+... thanks to your review.
Good choice! Ive been talking with Akaso and the Brave 7 has some internal mic problems, but looks like they may have it figured out 🤞🏻. So the 6 Plus is solid. The 7 will hopefully be better soon.
@@gregtoope now still got brave 6 plus? Can get the links?
There's a few million people who know and understand cameras. There's many million more who are starting from scratch. I still use an A M radio with turn dials. Your videos are very helpful. Thank You.
You are most welcome. Thanks for the great comment.
I'm the owner of the Akaso V50x. What I like about this camera is:
1. Stabilization, really, really smooth and very enjoyable if you recording vlogs, etc.
2. Video Quality, the best quality you can get is defenitely in 4k mode.
3. External Mike, it just makes the Akaso sound better.
4. Design of the camera, I really like the art of material it was used to build this thing and it looks great.
What I hate about this camera:
1. Stabilization, if you are going to shoot very fast action with big shakes, you are gonna be mad. The stabilization is making fast slides when it comes to moving the camera fast and it makes the footage not better.
2. Lens, after turning the EIS on this camera the Image is very cropped in. This is very bad if you are Mountain Biking, where the wide field of view and good stabilization is needed. But not all is lost :). You can swap the lens for wider and it won't crop the image.
3. 4:3 is not avaible, there are only 16:9 resolutions which kinda sucks.
4. Internal Mike, just too quiet and too noisy. Hard to record some quality audio shots.
That's my thought on my Akaso V50x. Feel free to comment.
Thanks for your thoughts on the V50X
@@gregtoope :D
@@gregtoope do the wider lenses come with the v50x?
I just got the 7 le for Christmas. Hoping it will be great for yakkin and fishin. My boys are all about making their very own UA-cam videos 😂. Thanks for all the info! Great, informative video!
That is awesome! Good luck with the Vids
I have the Brave 7 and think it’s awesome. I have no negatives for it at all and the inbuilt mic is terrific quality too. If you are looking for a budget action camera, I can’t recommend it highly enough. What is more, the waterproof case provided enables you to film at 40 meters below sea level that’s around 131ft…
Did you test it underwater? The sound is good there?
@@LeaTex to be honest, very few action cameras mics are good underwater (if that’s what you’re asking?) but it’s waterproof straight out of the box down to about a metre but with the supplied case it goes down to an insane 40 metres. Lea, it really is epic value and often my ‘go to’ choice. Btw, I also own a GoPro Hero 9 too. Buy the AKASO with confidence mate….it’s a no brainer…..
@@Great-to-be thanks for your answer!! I will try it (if I find it here in argentina).
@@LeaTex best of luck finding one Lea and merry Christmas to you and your family.
I bought a dash cam from them years ago over 3 ….and I’ve been happy with it price and performance
Great info thanks a lot

I know this video's quite a bit old now, but I just wanted to say this was an excellent review. I actually watched it beginning to end, I wasn't even tempted to click off--and with my lovely ADHD riddled self, that says quite a bit! If I'm watching a few different kinds of videos, I tend to skip around on the time bar the whole time, haha. But you caught and held my attention 100% for well over 16 mins now--even enough to ramble in a comment for the next hour! Ha! XD
So!
Great information, above all! You come off very authentic; I love that you actually got excited and showed real emotion, like you spoke from your heart. You definitely weren't boring, you have good energy, and you seem very comfortable on camera. You did a great job putting this video together, too. I was very glad to see that you have all of your equipment used to shoot listed in the description, thank you! :P (Can I ask what you use to edit/finalize your videos, before uploading them on here?)
I think what I loved the most was how you didn't just automatically advise to go get the newest, and most expensive one out there, but, & more importantly, that you explained *why* you felt the one was better /for you/ than the other. I'm so glad I watched this, just for the fact that you mentioned the external audio options, alone! (..or lack thereof lol) I didn't realize how big of a deal that was until you brought my attention to it! Oh, a BIG thank you for comparing the lack of an external mic vs the camera in the waterproof case, too! Also *loved* how you pointed out the difference between the newest RELEASE vs the newest model CREATED, great distinction.
Thank you for this little gem of an exquisitely executed video review, my good sir! As a token of my appreciation, (and a selfish quest for more knowledge! >;D) you have just gained a new subscriber!
WOW! This got really long, really fast lol my bad. Ranting has ceased!
See you soon in another video!

Well done. I like the way you emphasized the key distinctions. Ironically, I landed on the V50 Elite for specialized purposes. I'm not a vlogger, so I don't need any microphone at all, or need dual screens. The Elite has almost everything I need (*), and when I found one at a good discount, I pounced. I'm very happy with it.
(* Except motion detection, but the Brave 4 Pro gives me that for when I need it.)

Much appreciated. The Akasos dont do great in low light. But most action cameras have problems when it gets dark. Bonus of these is the price. You get a prety nice little action cam without having to break the bank.

I cant tell you how incredibly perfect this video was for me! I've recently gotten the urge to film on my moto rides and I was just gonna pick up a GoPro9 (image quality and stabilization) but then I found out how insanely buggy they are! Hello, just found your channel, thank you for making this very useful videos. Just what I needed, there are so many of these cameras available it is hard to know which does what and which to get. I am searching for a budget action camera to do moto blogging and I need that external mic. Thank you for clarifying and answering all of my questions. The 6Plus is the one for me. I still don't like that you can only use their own microphone which might not be the best. It would be great to just get a camera with a line in port for any microphone. If you know of such a thing, please make a video about other options out there. Also, I was watching your video on my 2021 regular iPad model, and it looked fantastic, the colors where super, the contrast, the definition, you did a really great job setting up that scene, and it looks perfect on my iPad. I wonder which of those little cameras were you using to shoot that studio scene.
