Agree about camera , didn’t want a all action one ( to old ) , but got it this week for my motorbike, went out for a 30 mile run , no problems, sound is always of ( bike noise ) but if I left it on would use the sponge camera cover supplied , got it on the longest loop with a 128 micro card installed, and mainly using as a bike cam , no movement and great video. Good little camera 😊👍👍

I agree with you 💯 for the money you can't go wrong with Akaso BRAVE 7 it's a excellent budget action camera. I've shot over 200 videos on my Akaso BRAVE 7 LE cameras so I'm speaking from experience. I have a dji action 3 and a GoPro 8 now but I still feel like the Akaso BRAVE 7 can pull it's own weight. Excellent review Thanks for sharing!🔥🔥

Brave 7 or GoPro 8? That’s what I’m trying to decide rn for my first action camera.
That's a close one. I would say Hero 8. I think "GoPro color" is really well done if you want punchy scenery and you like a little over saturation and contrast. It's a better built camera and the software suit like QUIK (especially if you have an iPhone) is just better.

I own 2 of the brave 7 and use them for kayak fishing vlogs. I love the camera for this. My gopro hero 10 overheats after about 40 minutes, while this camera goes for 1.5 hours on 1 battery at 4k 30 frames. Highly recommend

My issue with GoPro is overheating. It is such a problem that many content creators will take out the batter and just plug in the camera to an external battery bank. Something I have had a problem with Akaso in the past is the lower models do not let you use a battery bank to avoid changing batteries while in the field. Do you know if the Brave 7 allows you to run it from an external battery bank?

Great review and I love the AKASO brave 7. I own the 7 and the 7Le. Both great cameras but the 7 is the better of the 2

Nice, I just bought one as well. They had sound issues previously, but the 2023 version appears to have those corrected.
I did a review on the v50x a few videos ago and the sound issues were horrible. It was unusable. Yes actually I thought the microphones picked up quite well. Thanks so much for watching.
I have heard the internals on the V50X are not what they used to be. Cheaper downgraded from what they had been.

@@preppy890 Thanks for your reply. So the improved sound in the 2023 version you mentioned earlier is firmware related and not hardware? I read about the downgrade of the V50X too and I'm still on the fence for the Brave 7 LE or any other Akaso for that matter.

Thanks for the review! I'm buying this camera for $75 bucks as of 5.1.23. I have a go pro hero 3 lol that still works, but I hate to edit the videos on my laptop that is 6 years old. I like to do short 30sec to 1 min videos and to be honest, I only need it once or twice a month and this looks like the best bang for my money...

Nice! They just released the Brave 4 Elite so there might be some pricing pressure on the Brave 7. That really makes it the one to get.

This looks like a better alternative to the 360x3 and the $300 price tag, is there a body-cam with same features?
Not sure about 7. My 7le stayed recording on a hot day locked in the car. I was using it as a dashcam on loop and forgot to shut it off. When i got back to it, it was still recording. Apparently overheating issues are not a thing.

I just bought one and hope it works well while recording my ATV rides.
I think you will find that it works well! The only use case where I wouldn't want to use it was specifically for very detailed scenery or something where I needed very accurate colors and detail for production etc. Otherwise it's a solid camera for the money. Thanks for watching!

I do not use any external mics. All of the audio that is not narrated of course, comes from the camera on board mics.

How have you found opening the battery and charging ports? Mine are very difficult after exposure to salt water, even though I am very careful to wash after use. No problem with my old GoPro 6 though
I usually rinse them in the bathroom at the beach on the way out. I don't think I'd say I notice a big difference. I will say that I haven't used it really underwater though. Just splashes.
What about the brave 7 LE?
I'm considering buying one of these for fpv drone flying. are there any ND filters available for it and also can you change the shutter speed and iso?
I am not aware of any ND filters. The Brave 4 Elite comes with several filters and I just reviewed that camera but it is more for underwater use and I think overall the Brave 7 is a better camera. You can adjust EV compensation but There is not much in the way of manual controls.
Hi, if possible, can you some some reviews on night vision/low light action cams please. I am looking for one to wear for work during the night/driving in the night. Thanks.
They just aren’t good at night. Possibly look at dash cams. Cheaper too.

the best lowest price camera may be just an Insta 360 one RS. Yeah I went the route of others as well, and it all comes down to having one good camera thanx for the share
I agree. The old saying is the best camera is the one you have, and for me it's pretty much been my Pixel 7 Pro and now Galaxy S3 & one action camera with right now is the DJI Action 3. But we have to remember not everybody can spend four or five hundred so it's good to see there are options. Thanks for watching.
I really like these low budget action camera reviews. I just want a good one that won't have any file downloading/compatability issues with my MacBook Pro. Could this be the one?
I had tons of compatibility issues with the V50X and Sufola SF530. I had zero issues with this camera but I am on Windows. Unfortunately I can't comment on Mac. Thanks so much for watching!

I'm sure you've already guessed it, a place like that is only in California :). North of LA is my guess.
It's in Southern California. I do most of my shooting in the Laguna Beach or San Diego area though I am spending a few months traveling. The hills and flowers are actually in Corona, CA behind my home.

I like the brave 7 le but gutted I can’t find a protective frame case, so I can only use the waterproof case if I mount it, so audio is awful, I’ve looked everywhere but can’t find anyone who sells it ???
I am not aware of one. I know that the cage with cold shoe mount from the new Brave 4 Elite (my last video) does fit the Brave 7 but haven't seen anything aftermarket.
Much nicer then the last two you've tried. But would you ever actually grab it over others when running out?
I wouldn't grab it running out, however there are a few use case scenarios where I could see taking a decent camera that I don't mind getting the crap beat out of it. Also of course there's plenty of people for whom $149 is the limit. Thanks so much for watching.

How does the Brave 4 Pro's audio compare? I ordered it the other day and now I'm worried.
Both the Brave 4 and Brave 7 have decent audio. It’s not going to be what you’d expect from DJI OR GoPro but as long as you don’t have unreasonable expectations, you should be OK. I did a review of the brave 4 elite and you can find that on my channel with some audio samples.

Long as it don’t over heat as go pro 8 upward I’ll research it more as it sharp and good ois has blur in the grass but you was running. Might be mine choice in hot weather climate

I kept going between the okaso v50 x and the okaso 6 I want a super sharp and high contrast. 1080 & and 2 k all need for my small 2 k monitor. I’ve. Found the camera that does that don’t think you have it, it’s the xtu s3 camera.
It’s like the osako v50 x strong but not darker in the shade as it, handle sharper better,the flowers color pop. The tree leaf are super as the grass same as go pro 9 I say. Think I better than the 8for sharpness. It’s only 87 at Amazon it’s in the mail. only 4 left. They got the pro but tone down the contrast for lighter colors . I live in Honolulu so it alway too bright

There are plenty of good laptops. You'll probably want to look at a gaming focused laptop for the best performance for the money. If you are doing video editing I would recommend an RTX 4070 graphics card or higher. You can get them under $1,200.

So the Brave 7 is down to 150 on amazon and the gopro hero 8 black is 200 on best buy. Im guessing i should just get the gopro for 50 bucks more?
Yes. Hero 8 is a good camera and I actually think the default color profiles on Hero 8 are good as long as you are okay with saturated colors. I still use my Hero 8!!
4:00 panning looked very weird and distorted there. Some of the footage here didn't convince me.

I bought an Akaso V50X. It's audio was terrible. The file naming was terrible - I couldn't tell the sequence of the files without having to view them. Then it stopped letting me download files to my PC. I had to remove the usd card and use a reader on my PC. I tried a firmware update but that didn't work. So eventually I returned it for a refund.
I had almost identical problems on a SJCAM SJ9 PRO.
The only good budget camera I found was the Yi 4K - which you can't get anymore.
Yeah it was a nightmare for me. AKASO Brave 7 is a massive improvement. I also have the Brave 8 in the studio and will be doing a review soon.

Does it overheat like the gopros??
Haven't done enough with it in those conditions. The only time I had a GoPro overheat Was in a long day on a mountain bike trail in the high desert. So perhaps I'm just not using it the way some do. Thanks so much for watching.

I think for the price the performance is quite good. There is a new camera coming in May from AKASO as well that is focused on underwater use. I will be reviewing this soon. However, I think the Brave 7 is worth the money. Yes!

I’d get the Brave 8 or Hero 8 at this point also check out deals on the Hero 9, which had a lot of changes.
Unfortunately all of your sample footage is under bright sunlight. I'm curious how terrible the image would look if you had 50% cloud coverage.
That’s a good point. Sometimes hard to get good cloud coverage in Southern California but my next review of the DJI Action 4 is being done now and I’ll be sure to do that with future cameras. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching! Yeah I'm trying to get my subs going as best possible. Yes I think it would work actually quite well for something like that. Look if what's you're trying to get is simple stuff and you are just going to run in 30 frames per second it should be perfect. I wouldn't want to use it for the money shot of the waterfall and jungle in Hawaii but for what you're describing yes!
I got the s23u because I was tired of slow shit phones I want an action camera thats decent so I can record videos on my euc and also have footage in the event of a crash. Yesterday a minivan pulled infront of me with no warning as I was going 55kmh I almost tool a mirror off with my shoulder with how close I was even after swerving and slowing down.

This gets really frustrating because I go from review to review where one person says the Brave 7 is absolute garbage and proceeds to show awful footage that would prove that statement. So I decide against buying it. But then I come to a review like yours and it shows absolutely stunning video for a budget camera, with recommendation to buy it. What gives?! I want to like this camera and ultimately get one but I never know who or what to believe. How can one person show absolutely awful looking video and the next look fantastic? Like they are 2 completely different cameras!
Those are some really great points. I really can't speak to the consistency between different cameras and there is always a possibility that there are build quality issues which would lend to a different result. If you watch my latest video I honestly think if you're okay spending $100 more The GoPro hero 8 is a good buy. I can only tell you that I've been happy with the brave seven and I do use it. Periodically.

BUT, and it's a HUGE but...I don't vlog and I don't post on UA-cam, I simply want one to play with on family vacations to Hawaii or wherever we go maybe a once a year. So I really don't NEED a GoPro and my wife would kill me. I'd like one but it's really not what I should be getting. I have an older Akaso EK7000 Pro and the quality is just not there. I was hoping a better Akaso would do the trick.
@@JeffCD77 Those guys are taking the images and clips with the most optimal conditions, and therefor it will work. However, in your vacation you typical have the worse condition when capturing, therefor those budget cameras will not fulfill your wishes. A Good rule is, when you see an affiliated buy link of the product in the description, most likely the review is opted to be "very good product, and highly recommended to buy" 😏

A lot of UA-camrs have an affiliate link and it makes sense because they're putting all the work into bringing us these valuable videos and they might as well make a few cents while they're at it. And they're not making enough money to be bribed into lying to the public just to jeopardize their reputation.
I’m using go pro 8..the camera have one of the crisp crystal clear image..but after use one year.. the camera have problem..that appear a red light and hard to on..or sometimes cannot on at all..the point is what is action camera, when cannot on in second..I regret buying go pro..

I did not. I tested the Brave 4 Elite underwater which seems to be much better geared for underwater use.

Well, If you put it up against GoPro it doesn't. However, I've been using a lot of budget action cameras lately and it gets a lot worse.
This isn't really a budget camera. It's almost the same price as a gopro, but suffers quite badly from cmos blocking when reviewing fast moving footage like the mountain biking shots.
I mean, the Brave 7 is selling for $135. I just did a review of the Brave 8 and that's $289 and in that review I absolutely acknowledge that might not be technically a budget camera but I think the seven is.

Brave 7 / GoPro Hero 8 are my choices so far. I have the Brave 8 and the SJCAM 300 in for review.

They are available online at Amazon for $169. I guess "budget" depends on the consumer but considering mainstream leaders in the market (DJI & GoPro) are selling for $400 to $600 I'd say... Yes?

@@HeHasTheCamera Your video was super informative and will ck out the coming video. I found that the Brave 7 can used a 512GB card yet the 7LE is limited to a 64GB card. This seems odd unless the the LE is for 'limited'. Guess I answered my own question? Your thought on that ?
