Just ordered it for $1008.98 total (with your coupon). Thanks. It just came down $20 for some reason. It was $118.99 before your code and your code brought it down -$17.85. Thanks again!
My son received his Akaso Brave 7 LE from his mom and me this Christmas. Early signs are that it is a very good camera indeed for its budget price. Having read and listened to a number of reviews, we decided to buy him the Akaso, the price being the major factor. Well aware the Gopro and Osmo are by far better cameras but the prices reflect that. Akaso Brave 7LE is not to be ignored!
The DJI was surprisingly over exposed when you did the bright sunlight test, the Akaso handled the bright sunlight much better with a lot less whiteout, who'd have thought it.
I am so glad that I found this excellent, informative and detailed review even if it’s a few years old! I just purchased the entry level AKASO EK 7000 which I like a lot. The Brave 7 LE will be my next purchase. I find myself really excited about the AKASO brand of action cameras, and really don’t find it necessary to spend hundreds of dollars more for a camera that practically has the same performance and less accessories. I don’t know if you’re still posting video content like this, but I have subscribed anyway. Thank you again.
Thank you for putting the unboxing at the end instead of the beginning! I hate sitting through an unboxing before I even know if I'm interested in something. Great video. I've got on of these on the way to serve as a second cam to my Gopro.
I received this camera today and I’m very pleased with how it works. Thanks again for providing a great review and coupon. I’ll be purchasing my FPV stuff - probably around Christmas 🎄- and I’ll definitely try to use your site to save money and offer my support. 😎👍👍
So I purchased one on Amazon and got it today ( the Akaso Brave LE ). Amazon sent me a special offer so I got it for $119. Wow what a great little Action Camera. It is just as you described. You get a lot for your money. Very high quality in my opinion.
I bought two to do documentaries (when gas is cheaper) and for stop motion animation. Talk about multi-use. I didn't know it had time-lapse as I just got them from Amazon for Father's Day yesterday. Thanks for showing the review. I also bought Movo wireless lavaliers to make up for the poor sound capture. I get two mic transmitters to one receiver which is perfect for traveling, interviewing, and filmmaking. For anyone serious about filmmaking, you should have separated sound from the camera - the poor sound quality wasn't a big deal for just this reason. My Nikon DSLR can't do most of the stuff this does and I was able to buy two, and the lavs for about 20% of the DSLR. Now that's budget filmmaking. Add good lighting and it's a done deal. Thanks for this simple video. You sold me.
I was so impressed Steve that I purchased one along with an Osmo Pocket for my new blogging Chanel I will be launching soon in the UK. Thanks for sharing.
Capt, you failed to mention the most important feature...that 1/4" mounting is worth 100$ sometimes but to have it on there in the first place is very nice. Thanks
Awesome video. I have made several videos on the Akaso V50 Pro and love what Akaso is doing for the money. I'll have to check this one out now. I have to agree too, that the camera view is more narrow than a GoPro, even in it's wide view. But for the price, it's definitely worth it. Thank you again for an awesome video.
Great review, Cap! I recently bought my first action cam, a Crosstour for only about $35, and it's worth every penny! LOL, no, it works OK and for the price no problemo. This Brave 7 sounds like it might be my next purchase. No way would I ever pay for a DJI Osmo thing. Well, not until I make my first million, anyway.
Haha, I just ordered the Dji osmo action, if you do your research like I have been doing you’ll find the osmo has dropped in price and is a whole lot better than the akaso
Picked one up as well, going to post some test footage from mountian biking soon. It's taken some tinkering and the stabilization definitely doesn't stand up to the dji or gopro. It works and for the price it's extremely well built. For vlogging and just walking and stuff it would be a great camera, but upgrading to a hero 8 in the near future due to the stabilization. Great review!
@@suzukisv6507 Yes! I have it on mine for a year now. Great in 4k. I use it mostly in 1080. Video is smooth and zero shaking. Batteries run up to 90 mins each. You should get more batteries or use USB cable to constant charging.
@@suzukisv6507 I am so appreciative to Akaso that I am looking now to get the Bravo 7LE. These cameras quality for the simple life vs the dollar is unmatched. Make sure you get the memory card they recommending. Good luck !!!!
I just purchased me one of these because you made a good point on how high quality this is for the price and I was needing a new action cam and the duel screen is a plus thanks Captain Drone
Seems like an overall good value and I came close to buying one, but after watching a bazillion YT reviews on generic action cams I've come to the conclusion that really good sharpness, dynamic range, flat grading profile, and very smooth stabilization (beyond just walking) only comes from the big names. For $199 the DJI Osmo Action with spare battery on Amazon now has fewer compromises. It's older, but overall still comparable to the GoPro Hero8. I felt that was worth the extra $. If I get around to configuring my jumper mulitiprotocol TX I might slap it on my old 5" quad...
VERY COOL ! And looks like a good price point !! Thanks again Captain. And this thing can do a lot !! Very cool camera ! Maybe next up- you can show us how this can be mounted on a drone ? Always good info, Captain, Thanks, Wulfy
Thanks for a great video, Steve. I've ordered mine through your link and look forward to seeing what this can do. For the money, it definitely looks like a good deal!
I would likely never shoot at night, so this is a great camera! That drone footage is awesome! And the Traxx 4x4 RC footage- was really good for that price camera! Would be great for my mountain biking videos and kayaking! Great review! Excellent job!
How do you use it as an fpv does it connect to goggles or a phone and what is the max range away from the operator and what type of goggles would it be good whith
Nice camera in a very sensible price. If I wouldn't have GoPro 8 Black already then I would definitely wanted to try this Akaso. I truly value your videos.
Excellent review, main points needed covered, no waffle, good shots & edit, subscribed. Add timestamps for sections in blurb & you'll get million subs. 👍
Seriously considering one of these as a secondary camera for the motorbike... I think as a secondary where you're not worried about the audio, this could be a fantastic camera
Excellent video editing, composition and a pleasant performance. I assume by now that you have figured out that the narrower field of view on the Brave 7 is caused when you have image stabilization turned on. That's because the Akaso uses software to analyze each frame and adjust the composition to minimize camera shake and this operation reduces the field of view slightly to accomplish the same. I put up some motorcycle videos and came to the same conclusions, great camera for the price, perfectly acceptable performance for a camera at this price point, pretty disappointing audio. I would love to know how or if you were able to use the external mic with the Brave 7 or did I misunderstand that demonstration ?
Awesome camera for the price. I bought an Akaso V50 pro SE about a year ago and am very happy. Maybe now buyers will see how GoPro are ripping everyone off with their crazy prices. And what you get with a GoPro. Nice one Steve.
Rick Britton, Thank you CAPTAIN DRONE,,I haven't been able to afford a camera, but wow what a deal, for me being new at every thing, like Drones, fpv quads, and cameras, this could be my answer to not break the bank, Thank you so much again, you are making dreams come true, your amazing human being, I will be purchasing this camera as soon as I can Thank you. Not bad at all, I’ve got a runcam 5 orange, which I use for motor bike rides, and when I get my new drone I’ll be using it, but I’d like something for in my car, this could just be the one for me. The picture quality looks pretty darn good to me.
I realize the 7LE is yesterday's paper, but can anyone that still has one confirm that the older firmware didn't allow high speed playback speed on recorded clips? The one I got recently only does 1x, and I wonder if this is something that only happened with later firmware versions or if no one ever noticed it because they don't usually play back clips on the camera.
I have the GoPro Hero 8 and am happy with the stabilization and quality of picture, but this one might be worth the effort to give it a try. I need a camera to use on my boat when offshore fishing. It would be clamped onto the tower and can quickly grab and get up close action, but would like the option to have it plugged up to either a power bank or external USB power to keep it going all day. I can't do this with the GoPro as it will overheat and shut down. On my older GoPro Hero3 Black, I was able to connect to power and also an HDMI feed to my boat electronic display and view on the large screen. Again, I can't do this on any of the later GoPro Camera models, so looking for a different camera that can do this. Any idea on this one?
Thanks for your review and the most important Point for us Pilot's, the fov are to narrow. Ok, the stabilazion are also important an not hypersmooth likley. If I doesn't have a quad, then I would absolutely buy it. I like this cheeper one with a good picture for the price.
You have a far better impression of this camera than I do. From the beginning I didn't like the short depth and pixelated performance of the Wifi. Looks like the video from an old drone I own. I recommend you buy a older model Hero 4,5 or 6 online for about the same price and get quality footage rather than limp whistles and bells.
As noted in the video, the camera is not the same experience as a GoPro or OSMO Action, but for the price you get more than the price, because there is nothing else on the market at this price that gives you this much.
Very nice camera for the price. How long does each battery last in video mode? Keep on keeping on Captain. Thank you for all the fantastic reviews and videos.
