4:08 if TV is turning off because Tcon board is shorted then TV will shutdown to prevent further damage. if Tcon board is replaced but still TV shutsdown you may have a bad LCD panel which is common on older Sony KDL LCD TVs (some Sony LCD panels were recalled) Get TV boards at goo.gl/dkHfDD or electropartsonline.com/ use code "tampatecfriend" for discount, (one time use code) check here Sony LCD TV error codes tampatec.blogspot.com/2015/03/sony-bravia-kdl-lcd-tv-error-codes-for.html?m=1

Tampatec thank you for the information I really enjoy your videos thus far. I replied in an older 'Sony post but have yet to hear back from you and I still have my XBR65X900C not working. I understand your a busy guy but I have already replaced the LED Driver board per your videos/sony's service manual and the problem still exists. I am looking for the next board to replace but need some insight if your willing to help. I have seen a grip of my model TV with the exact same issue. Any help would be great. Michael

In case you don't see the post in the other video, my problem is my XBR65X900C starts to turn on but while the screen is still a dull grey or the android sign is loading the screen will alternate led lights along the bottom from one side to the other then shuts down and 4 blinking red lights. Like I said above LED Driver has been replaced. Whats my next move. Thanks again. Michael

Great instructional video young man! You have the natural "knack" to share knowledge... consider if you may, place your teaching skill in a 3 series books on how to repair TV, e.g. beginners, intermediate and advance course and a bonus book on TV Tech instruments most use... just an idea... I know there will be many young men and old timers like me that would be interested in reading it as well... we always learn everyday and I have learned and I am sure I will keep learning from you... in any event, as always, I do enjoy your videos very much... BTW, the snowy picture brought me back to the days when my dad repaired TV and radios before retiring in 1972!!! Joe-K4JGA - JGA Electronics Repair Center, Casselberry, Fl.

Hey Tampatec great channel, you've saved me a couple hundred bucks already with an older samsung, it was easy to replace capacitors and i've gotten extended life out of an old screen! thanks so much, I do have another samsung, slightly newer that is having a problem now. when there is no source connected, i am able to turn it on, navigate the menu and everything is great. but as soon as i plug in any kind of source, once the picture is about to come through and display, the screen shuts off. it will sit and wait a couple of seconds, and then try to come back on again, but as soon as the picture is on (if it gets that far) it just shuts right off again.
I bet you have already answered this question before, but i'm having trouble pinpointing. I appreciate all your time and effort. Thanks :)

Excellent videos!!, thanks for sharing. I have a problem on my vizio, does not have power but has the vizio logo on orange. Based what i learnt on you videos i measured voltage in the pins and the SB voltage of 5.3 is ok . But there is another pin with 12 volts does not have voltage, i do not want to troubleshooting all the components of the power supply. Do you think that the power supply may be the problem? if so my power supply is a revision 2 but the one in the electropartsonline is just a revision 1. DO you think that i can use it without any problem or missing function. any advice is really appreciated. Thanks again.

Nice job on all of your videos. I am currently trying to get my two year old Sony Bravia back to life. It lost all audio and video. I replaced the LED Driver board with no improvement. I then took it to a local repair shop where it sat unattended for two weeks. When they did finally find the time to trouble shoot it they told me that the main board was bad and the repair would cost almost the original cost of the TV. Brought the set home and decided to see if I can find a used but good main board. My TV is a Sony KDL-50W800C The main board is an A2071530A and no one seems to have one except two that I found used on eBay. One of the two suppliers you recommended has one but lists a defect as a cosmetic problem and all functions work fine. The picture of the board is a stock photo so I am a little concerned about the board. Keep up the good work. I am lifetime electronics tech, but have no experience with TV's or the new mico components.

Thanks so much. I think that is the same one that is listed on ebay. I posted a bid, but if that is not accepted, I will order this one. If this indeed does not fix the problem, will they take it back? The boards on this set are very easy to replace. Thanks again for your help. Keep up the great work. I am also about ready for a new Fluke meter. But with all of the micro stuff now coming out, there is less and less chance to fix at the component lever. It was becoming that way when I ended my two way radio repair career.

Tampatec - your videos are the best and have helped this DIYer fix several tv's. I have a 40 inch Phillips now that blows the fuse in the power board. If I disconnect all the cables to the power board the fuse is OK when plugged in. I find that adding the main board BA01P2G0401 2 to the already connected Power board BA01P0F0103 3 and tv isgnal board BA01P0F0102 3 causes thde fuse to blow! The fuse will not blow with the power board and signal board connected when plugged into the electrical source - add the main board and pow! Any thoughts?

    Hi Paul,
I have a Vizio M60-C3. The LEDs started going out (or dim) on the left side, 4th row up. Then the dimming sort of spread to most of the bottom row and about half the two rows in between. Other than this the TV works perfectly. My completely speculative idea based on watching some vids is that it is most likely the LED driver board. It just seems too unlikely that bad LEDs would cluster? But I know very little. Thanks for any help you may give.

How about troubleshooting a TV which starts to restarting, sometimes after a few minutes sometimes after loading a smart app. Sometimes it doesn't restart at all and hence works normally. I tried to use a multimeter, in dc mode almost every voltage is showing correct except for 1 which is marked as 5v and loading 3.9v. Disconnected all cables and re-connected them. At his point I don't know which board to replace. What is your opinion?

Thanks for your videos! We tried replacing our T-Con board on our Samsung tv. It had sound but no video. First T-Con board was defective; only 2 of 3 blue lights lit up. Tried a second board and at first had 1/3 of the screen, and then 2/3 of the screen after reconnecting it. Tried a third time to reconnect and only got about a 1 x 2 inches of lines in the bottom left corner that quickly faded. Ordered a 3rd T-Con and got nothing on the screen (except backlights). So we decided to take advantage of Black Friday. :) Now for my question---where can I donate my old TV in the Tampa area. I'm assuming someone could get some good parts off of it. Thanks Sandy

I have a JVC LT-47EM59. Blue power light blinks after trying to turn on. I've tried the "Reset" fix, works until you turn it off again, then needs reset again. Sometimes after resetting there's no sound but I have picture. I opened it up, upon visual inspection everything looks good, no bad caps. I tested voltage to the power led board and get 5v and 3.2v so I think that's good. Since everything else seems to be good, I'm thinking it may be the main board that's bad?? Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks!

Thanks for posting. Please help. I have a sheer white screen (tiny horizontal and vertical lines) on the left half of my Seiki TV SE32Fy22. Using as a monitor with my MacBook Pro, not as a TV. I can see through it, but can't use it for detail work. Tried hard reset, disconnected everything from computer (VGA Connection)and from surge protector. Hooked it all back up - no change. So I watched your video and another one and disconnected ribbons from t-com board, cleaned ribbon and contacts and that didn't help. I did notice that some of the cables in various places looked like they had been singed/scorched - not burned all the way thru, but it was alarming. Is there any way I could send you a photo to see if they are burned or if there is something else that would cause them to have black spots? I definitely don't want to have a fire. If they aren't burned, is next step to replace t con board or could it be something else like the main logic board? Thanks!

So I have a LG led tv and there are dim or faint lines (almost like the back light is weaker in these areas) only during motion in certain colors (usually duller colors). Anyway couldn't find anything online about it but I've summed it up to being a uniformity issue but I'm not 100% on that. What do you think?

I have a Dynex DX-L42-10A 42-inch TV. I pulled it and four other TVs (of varying sizes and brands) out of the dump (I have a guy who works there who sets them aside for me as soon as they come in). This one was working fine for a few days and suddenly this loud static sound started and the TV would turn off after a few minutes.
I noticed a capacitor that is starting to bulge (on its top) on the power board, but was wondering if there was anything else I should look for?

Yo - I learned more about TVs than I ever wanted to....thanks in part to your channel. So cheers. I work in Low Voltage / I.T. world for a living....so, I'm somewhat tech savvy.....BUT, what I've realized with half of TVs now- is that there's a simpler solution. Just buy a new TV. LOL. The amount of time some of this shit takes, in order for it to be cost effective (with time commitment) I can't say I'm ever going to trying fixing any TV that was less than $600.00. After troubleshooting the T-CON board, backlight circuit to LED driver board, and finally the strips themselves......then determining the failure is likely at the 50" Panel itself after temporarily repairing (so I thought) - the driver board working properly with the backlight circuit. Replaced one LED strip, but do they all need replaced? Can the LED panels themselves just fail after 2-3 years? That conclusion does not seem logical in my case, but not sure what else it could possibly be........Ummm....AND....I think I'm done. Thanks again though. Great channel homie.

Clint McCoy check your cable connections and ground screws on the boards but usually no audio or video can be bad main board. if tv has backight glow, you may have received wrong board version or damaged main board, it happens. if your voltages read good to main board and tcon I would contact the source where you got the boards from.

    Hi Tampatec,
I just joined your channel. I have a problem with my LG 42PG6000 TV. Some time ago, at the time of power-on, the red LED flashed for several seconds (ultimately also 40/50 seconds), followed by toc toc (relay?), Before turning green and appearing on the screen. From today this does not happen anymore, the TV does not turn on anymore. The LED does not even become red, but shines green / red very fast. I wanted to try to repair it myself even if I understand very little electronics. Can you give me some input, please. If necessary I can send you some photos or videos of the defect.
I opened the back panel .....
    Thank you.

*Tampatec* - Hello. In our city no one takes a plasma TV Pioneer PDP427XD for repair. If you can, tell me where the breakdown is: I turn on the TV, it takes 5 seconds and it turns off, blinking the blue diode 8 times. On the main board, a red diode at number d8402 is lit.
I checked the voltage regulators on the mainboard of the (NJM2846DL3-xx) series with a tester - all the workers. The power from the power supply to the mainboard and from the mainboard to the TV tuner is supplied correctly.
Tell me what else to check ?

Thanks for making these videos!! I have an LG 47LW5700 LED TV. When I turn it on, I hear a click and then the Standby Light flashes very slowly, fading in & out. I checked the standby pins on the Power board...7v. Should be 3.5. None of the capacitors are bulged. I'm wondering, because I'm getting the wonky voltage reading that it could be the Power board rather than the Main board. Did the flashlight test...nothing. No Sound. I looked all over for error codes for the slow flashing standby light. Your thoughts? Thanks in Advance!!

How many volts on the signal cable from the main board to the T-CON board? My boss normally check for about 12v and it works.
Can you please do a video on led screens, how to determine if it's a Samsung or LG TV screen by looking at the tag please?
How about how to do alterations to fix some TV problems.

LG 50PS60 Plasma. Intermediate sound with no Video. If I unplug the ribbon cable from Main board to Tcon board and plug it back it in I can make the screen work on command. When the screen comes on it is a great picture. All voltages except VS are on spec. Instead of 195 V, they are 183. Thanks for any help.

Just fixed a 60 inch someone tossed. Mainboard was bad, but like to fix it for a back up. Symptom I have is Powers up and stays on no problem, but as soon as I connect video source plays fine or a couple minutes then I get a pop and tv image goes away. Any ideas on what chip I should be looking at on main board?

I need your technical help regarding LCD TV Haier LE32B50. By power on blue light comes on but back light does not comes on, after a few seconds it comes on but goes off and red power led glow again blue led comes on , this will continue, means blue on, back light on and off. By disconnecting back light connectors (03) power comes on and remain on, now on connecting back light connectors tv comes on and all functions are ok.After power off after 7seconds tv will not on and shows the same problem. so if back light connectors are disconnected and reconnected then power on otherwise no.

I have a Vizio E241-A1 that was not turning on but the led light was illuminating. I was able to hard reset it a few times and it worked, but now it just lights the front led and wont turn on. I purchased a repair set of boards from shop Jimmy and replace both boards and it still does the same thing, just the led on the front comes on. Any ideas what else it could be?
