Range, price.. but also promised features that didn't make it like- tailgate loading ramps, air compressor outlet, sail panel storage, integrated PV, seating for 6.. what else am I forgetting? I've been waiting for so damn long it's hard to remember.. only to have my hopes and dreams dashed by that price. To be fair, on the flip side, 4 wheel steer by wire and an apparently awesome sound system are a bonus.
ya i had the full about in the bank $39000 waited 4 years during covid nothing elon added $20000 cut the range ...im ready for ford screw tesla
payload was originally stated 1k higher I believe
But they put a lot more shit into the truck than what they didn't. Seriously builtin loading ramps? I can see you don't really haul heavy loads. But they gave SbW, 4 wheel turn, differential lockers, air shocks, better clearance in a smaller package, a working motorized weather proof tonneau cover, a 240 outlet, plenty of fucking storage, a true 6x4 foot bed, 90° doors, a nipple to add compressed air in he future, Tesla software and I keep going. Who honestly believed this truck would be under 50k after covid? If you don't like the company, say that. But a lot of y'all are 🤡 that hate everything you don't have.
@@nycLPplayerno, it has more than the original payload
@@DaGoat97News flash the ramps never happened either and the lockers aren't actually available either because if they released them they would frag the driveline. The other stuff you mentioned is cool but doesn't save it. No one is turning in their towing rig because of drive by wire and rear steer.
Tesla almost never even meet their official stated range. Even the Bolt beat Tesla on range in a mountain challenge on TFL.
1. So the car isn't the actual price it was said.
2. It doesn't have the features that they said it would have (It's not bullet proof and it doesn't have bullet proof glass.)
3. it doesn't have the range
4. it doesn't have the charging speed.
5. It has bad build quality. I would also like to refer to the sober truck which drove through water and then malfunctioned.
6. The loading bay is too small.
Keeping it factual and honest Alex!!!! Keep up the good work.
Love the spirited discussion! Let the consumer decide and keep the government out of it.
Government does need to be involved in safety
@@EforElectric yes, agree but less involved in price fixing! Like the $7,500 and the chicken tax.
Owners already starting to have rust problems lol, they noticed orange spots on the panels, piece of crap.
What? Stainless steel is not a good idea to make cars out of? If only we already had a bankrupt car manufacturer go through the same problem before!!!!
@@EforElectric you're right.
Makes one wonder if Tesla went with a cheaper grade of stainless steel...
It's stain-less, not stain-never. Different types of stainless steel but anyone buying the CT can afford to wrap it and the manual carefully states it needs surface maintenance.
In Dec'23 Motor Expo in Thailand, BYD was #3 Sales and Tesla was DEAD LAST in #18
Wait till the Bangkok Motor Show is over is on 7 Apr'24.
Wait to see the Sales Figures of BYD vs Tesla
The 2023 GMC HUMMER EV is pretty cool (i think it's also on its own dedicated platform). And it shows that GM (legacy company) is somewhat getting their stuff together. 🔌🔋
The reason why it doesn’t matter if your Tshirt, shoes, or couch is from a profitable company is that those items don’t require maintenance. Whereas you want your car company to be 7:16 around for awhile to have parts and service available to keep your car alive. So I see Warrens point here.
Alex, you won the discussion... and also lost it. The cost of repairs, and locations for the repairs of ALL Ev's, is sketchy at best. Paint matching IS a difficult thing to do, as Warren stated...
I have had 4 different paint jobs on cars. 3 came just fine and one color match was not only good but turned out looking better than the original. The key however is I had almost 15 paint repair places to choose from in a rural Oklahoma county. The last one I had dozens to many to count and choose from. Just saying it is hard is easy but it is not impossible. Even my first one I had in highschool was what I would call today a questionable backyard type guy turned out good. I have seen to many videos of Teslas that were headaches get problems solved often taking months in some cases. Tesla needs to imbrace right to repair and should be building up their ability to produce and supply parts for 3rd party repairs. Most of those with repair issues were not poor persons so the had ice vehicles to use while trying to solve their repair issues. If Tesla does not address this sooner rather than later it is going to hurt them in the long run.
You mean matching the colour of the rust on the body
Hertz said, the issue with Tesla was customer acceptance and high maintenance cost. It had nothing to do with it's resale, all the rental car companies post COVID are keeping cars in their fleet longer, in some cases three years. Pre Covid, the fleets were a year old.
The other issue for Hertz and other companies. Was the Tesla experience. Imagine, flying in after a long flight and picking up your car to drive to your hotel and being handed a card. There is no button, no gear shift lever and no one to help you.
Here in California they have replaced the Tesla with the Polestar which has more of a traditional experience. They also have Chevy Bolts and a few EV,6 in the fleets.
Hertz is selling USED Tesla from 23K to 32K.
A premium price demands a premium product.
It is a major pain in the ass to keep my stainless steel appliances looking decent, and I never take my refrigerator out in bad weather.
Alex tells the truth.
just want to add elon musks comments about ukraine war and russia is not making EU happy those factory and tesla has been tranished forever by elon
Exactly this… @EforElectric is soon going to have a field day, once this fully develops.
Those recent comments (with synergy with Tucker and his "fake history documentary") - for most Americans, it's probably beyond understanding, but the majority of central-European to east-European nations - at least parts of them with higher than Elementary School education despise RuSSkies and particularly Moskals (ethnicity from Moscow and St. Petersburgh) because of decades on slavery, murders, r*pes and oppression under communist rule.
If I make it more understandable for U.S. viewers:
Tzar-X Elmo's takes on The Invasion are for Europeans the same thing, like Elmo enthusiastically pronouncing his love and support towards KKK and donning their robe in a torch march through the black hood.
So, Elmo's connection towards the brand can be a HUGE problem.
Yes, TMY is still a great car, still the best EV available. However, it's expensive and is losing its advantage over competition. Yes, the competition has way lower range and trash infotainment, BUT if you just need an EV to get from "A" to "B" in Europe, where many countries are less than 500 km across, dotted with 50 kW charging stations, a small and cheap hatchback with 200 km range is by far sufficient.
And with Tesla being tarnished by its connection to tzar-X Elmo, they can quickly lose ground.
Imagine how much a set of tires are going to set you back for this thing, never mind what a battery will cost.
Good job owning that clown. You should look into total BS channels of Randy Kirk and Brian White(FutureAZA). Both pumper channels with highly questionable content. It would be good to see you debunk their ridiculas claims about Tesla and Musk .
Thw gent is an apoligist fantrool & acts like he isn't. So glad Alex brought up the profit comments, unprofitable is good for consumers. The reason we don't hear about paint probs is everyone sucseeds at it.
If this stainless steel body is so great, when will the S/3/X/Ys be converted?
Here is my issue with EVs. I can currently go to a Honda dealer and buy a new Honda Accord for about 31K. The Accord has a range of about 450-500 miles with about 35 mpg. As an ICE vehicle there are gas stations on almost every corner. The Accord is known for great reliability but if a repair needs to be done there are multiple repair shops nearby available at reasonable prices.
Now when EVs came out there was great interest. People thought wouldn’t it be great to get away from paying for gas and all the maintenance that comes with ICE vehicles. What consumers have learned however is that EVs are not always that great. The nicer EVs are expensive, they have limited range, it takes time to recharge the batteries and charging stations aren’t all that readily available. On top of that there aren’t that many places that can fix an EV and if you do find one it may be a long wait and can be very expensive to repair an EV. On top of all that insurance for an EV can easily be twice that of an ICE car and even worse EVs depreciate a lot faster than ICE cars. Right now it appears EVs are only attractive to consumers who have high incomes while ICE cars are still chosen by lower income consumers.
At the introduction, Tesla said the AWD CT will get 300 miles of range. My AWD CT significantly beats that range number.
It's still over 300 miles, you complain about cars being boring but the CT is anything but that, we have seen accidents and the other cars are always f'd up with minor scratches on the truck. Plus they came out with the pricing of the panels and they are cheaper than normal cars due to the way it's manufactured. So it appears you want to turn your channel into a hate everything channel. We get it. You require perfection but nothing on the road is. So compared to what we can get now is how you should base your reviews. I'm just seeing someone who's butt hurt about everything.
Range is based on government standards….. Tesla is not missing on range
I learn to just subtract 30-50 miles from the EPA standards. With Tesla I feel Phantom Drains and Sentry Mode takes too much power. I think an option for solar panels to negate this would help.
If you knew anything about this topic you would know that Tesla ha5ve underperformed its own EPA ratings by pretty much more than any other car maker
Was Elon saying the range was gonna be with 4 motors or 3?
@@EforElectric That is probably a problem between the steering wheel and the seat. I know several Tesla owners and all of them have a range very close to our EU standard WLTP, which for example for TMY is 533 km (331 miles) from spring to autumn…
Other brands are far way worse in that. However, if Volkswagen figures out how to fix problems with Enyaq beyond what they fixed in 2nd gen, 4th gen (in 2027?) could be on par with TMY regarding closeness to WLTP and slowly eliminate it through less negative connotations and easily accessible servicing…
Had my 1st Bolt EV 2022 through Hertz since no Tesla were available. To play it safe they showed 3 ranges with the middle matching real world miles.
Ford (Fix and Repair Daily) in 2023 manufactured 750,000 ICE trucks People aren’t buying EV’s because they’re not sustainable vehicles in 10 years you need to replace the batteries at an average cost of over $20,000. In addition there’s lots of charging locations where you have to wait hours and hours and if you live in an apartment building, the landlord is not going to install the 240 V battery charger they’re not gonna spread the body and in some cases, they don’t have the capacity in their electric panel to add a two wire 240 V 40 or 50 Amp circuit breaker! With that said or electric grill is 50 to 70 years old it can’t handle all of the power requirements just look at what happened to California in summer of 2023 they had to contact customer to tell them to reduce the power consumption of hot days and in California four months out of the year it’s over 90°!
Can’t believe that you still going on about this. It is what it is.
Get over it already.
If you love it get it, if you don’t, don’t get it.
Bad spokes people like Warren R is why I would never buy a Tesla what an ugly personality.
Actually you are wrong on the F150 Lightning range. At 65 miles/hour, my Lightning actually surpasses the battery range. I also have a Model 3 and love it. Best car ever made in my opinion! You are a hater.
We are talking about the EPA range. Not your particular truck going at the particular speed range. That's what a standard like EPA rating is, sweetheart.
