It's a T-850 model 101. A T-800 would not survive a direct hit from the T-X onboard plasma cannon. T-800 was also nuclear powered with no extra fuel cell.

I like how TX is more focused on killing Connor rather than dealing with T-850 after throwing it across the tall. It only decided to terminate him after he ambushed her again, but rather than destroying it, she took control of its systems knowing Connor would be fooled by it. TX is ridiculously durable, relentless, and cunning. Everything a Terminator needs to be.
The T-1000 did the same thing if you remember in the Foundry. After defeating the T-800 hand to hand and trapping it inside of the gear, it left it alone and continued pursuing its target. It only finished the T-800 off once and for all after it once again interrupted its mission afterwards, or at least the T-1000 thought he finished the T-800 lol

No to mention: is the last iconic model of the franchise.
All that comes after is just derivative or a bad imitation of the TX concept, but missing all the elements which makes her special in the first place.

The best thing about the Terminator movies is the physical fights between two opposing Terminators. When you watch them fight, there is no technique, no matter of utilizing martial arts. It is just two purely mechanical machines trying to tear each other apart physically and brutally.

Is it just me or is this fight scene from 20 years ago better than most fight scenes nowadays? It mixes great editing, stunt work, set pieces, practical effects, and special effects to create what is essentially a live-action Looney Tunes battle between two robots from the future. Take notes future filmmakers!

this whole thing feels looney toons. I'd have gone with the TX trying to constantly disengage and the Terminator desperately slowing her down (and failing). Instead they trash a set with little consequence.
There are garbage scenes every year, not just nowadays, this scene is impressive, but if we compare with dark fate (which is mostly shit, except in special effects), the effects are better, this scene in the 3 is good but aged a lil bit

Compared to the rev 9, the TX was an actually challenge for arnie's character. The rev 9 was getting beat by the T800 while the TX was giving the T850 hell.

With the exception of the cheesy “balls” grab, this fight is actually pretty great. The action sequences in this movie are well done imo.

At the time it came out? It was disappointing. Then the rest came out and we realized that while it wasn't great, they really didn't set the bar very high.
Its very good but i hear people hating on it for some reason its not as good as the first 2 but good enough after this things got a lot worse.
If it were a standalone movie, it'd be good in it's on right. But as a Terminator film, it doesn't do it justice. All The Terminator films after 2 are bad, although 3 is definitely watchable.

One thing quite pleasant about Terminators is the fact that the directing always perfectly shows the immediacy need of efficience of the machines. "No more ammunition" OK, so, in less than a second, "found the first object usable as weapon within easy reach". They are, in a way, pure cleverness and ingenious when it's about to fullfill their mission (killing or saving) and finding new solutions every second in a neverending fight of several minutes, no matter how and no matter consequences except what they have to do because their were programmed this way. Their coldness is what they make them so lovable.
If the film were shot differently and with no such good actors, it could really turn into a disaster. Their behaviour is one of the keys for credibility about a fight between cyborgs and humans.

Despite what literally every fan says about how Terminator ended with T2, I love Arnie's performance in this one the best. Absolutely robotic in literally every aspect. Now that's a terminator right there people came to see
Noir, the biggest problem with the Terminator franchise is T2. It was such a good movie on so many levels that all the other movies and the tv show sucked by comparison.

Some nice ideas, executed without passion or care. Too many callbacks to the previous film. It was underwhelming. Which, compared to the first two films, is unacceptable. T1 is gripping and T2 is fuckin' HARROWING. T3 being underwhelming feels like a real slap in the face. Also, killing off Sarah Connor like that... what?
Then Salvation was... a bold choice. But it had the same problem as T3, just without the nice ideas. Nice overall concept, moving to the future war. But no idea what to do within it. Barely remember that film... Least said about the next two the better. Genisys was so unnecessary and dumb. Dark Fate... while one could argue it was a better film than T3, Salvation or Genisys, the decision to kill off John right at the start basically negates EVERYTHING in the first two films. Everything you felt? Doesn't matter anymore. What a dumb decision that was.
None of the Terminator sequels past T2 are terrible they just arent as good as T2.

Using stock sound effects in a big-budget movie is pretty ridiculous. And that's not the only one even in this scene.
2:03 I always found this attack the most intimidating in the franchise. Imagine yourself, as a human being, being trapped by a cyborg and knowing that your face will be torched off, you would be screaming, and your instincts as a human would be consumed in fear.
But the fact that the T-850 sits there and takes it, barely flinching, flesh melting, seems so eerily fascinating. You're fully convinced, as an audience member, that these people really are two machines brutally fighting to destruction. And the actors have to be praised for pulling this off fantastically 👏

I always come back to this scene, it's still the best thing I've ever seen. I love how the TX is just waiting its opportunity because it knows those blows are *nothing,* and yet still, the T850 is trying with all its might to buy time for John Connor's sake, forcing its cpu to calculate a little faster than the TX because it knows that a wrong movement means game over.

I've always loved how, despite the size difference between Arnold and Kristanna, you can clearly tell that the T-X is a superior model to the T-850. The scene didn't hold back at all with her fight choreography and having her toss him around.
What makes Terminator to be interesting is when the killer is Superior to the protector. It was the fact that good must triumph over evil that Makes T-850 to win
The TX is obviously built with a much lighter weight (on purpose), but that’s only because they built it to be more durable and able to carry more weapons.

Never noticed that small detail. T-X has really grown on me over the years. Her actor did a great job with how mechanical and emotionless her movements were. Even that little glance at the mirror is executed in such a smooth, automated, way. Didn't like this movie overall but the Terminator combat sequences were top notch and just insanely cool.

@@ttn20101 She's a hybrid of the T1/T2 terminators, with additional abilities thrown in. I have no problem with rapid healing, but even her clothes are unaffected, and they're clearly not simulated or made of some futuristic material.
Mitjitsu, all these years I thought she was made of pure liquid metal. Well I guess the actress must have had a clause in the contract that state she must look gorgeous and perfect at all time. No wonder she was checking herself out in the mirror earlier on.

I loved all three terminator movies. They kept to what the movie was great about. Robots and car chases. The rest of the other sequels made terminating bugs look more interesting. 😂😂😂

I think T3 is just the most underrated one of them all. I loved it from the moment I first saw it at the cinema. The SFX & the action sequences are excellent, & still hold up now, & it took the franchise in a believable new direction IMHO. Its poetry in motion compared with all the others that followed it, even if its not as good as the first 2..
It's a good Arnold movie just isn't as good as T2 if you want to hate all the sequels for not being as good as T2 then that's fine. However, if you can enjoy sequels that are still fun but not on the level of T2 then this movie is easily a good time.

@adr5389 The first 2 are a hard act to follow, impossible to follow really, but T3 is still way better than what followed IMHO
One of the main reasons why the T-X terminatrix was the deadliest up to this point, was that she could not only destroy a T-800 with her arm cannons, but she could also re-program them, changing their mission. 😔
Plus she already was tested and killed an upgraded version of a T-1000
