So begins Year 6! It's pretty cool that I've been doing covers on UA-cam for over 5 years now, and I thought rehashing one of my old arrangements would be a fantastic way to start. (For those of you curious, yes, the Year 5 compilation will be coming your way soon, as soon as licensing clears up!)
Super Mario Galaxy is such a fun game. I've only ever played Galaxy 2, personally, but from the Let's Plays I've watched of Galaxy 1, it looks amazing. I miss playing a 3D Mario game quite as big as Galaxy 1 was, so I'm definitely looking forward to what Super Mario Odyssey has to offer!
DJ Cutman approached me a long time ago and asked if I'd be interested in sending him stems of one of my songs for him to remix and produce. It took a while for this to actually happen, but after I started listening to some awesome low-fi hip hop mixes by Blazo, I decided to give it a try! Cutman did a wonderful job with this track, and was fine with all the nit-picky changes that I made to this track! If this brand of music isn't exactly your thing, don't worry, this arrangement was an experiment at trying out a different style; normal videos will be resuming soon :)

I won't lie, I was absolutely estatic when I saw this pop up in my subscriptions. The nostalgia hit me real hard when the melody came around. Amazing as always.

No, I was saying that you can have nostalgia for things that are way less than ten years ago. Many people seem to see the word as something solely used for childhood/memories way in the past.
This makes me think of the entire Observatory being a cafe.

My favourite game of all time. Galaxy 2 just didn't feel the same to me, but it was still a very good game.
I especially love the static editing, with static audio as well. You need to do things like this more often, It feels like a old VHS some guy dug up. Perhaps if you ever went into Electro swing, this would be useful.

Stuff like this has to be executed well(which you did just to be clear). if you are going for a old fashioned approach in your music, go with static editing. Some other editing tips to think about is making it in black and white(If you want to go really old fashioned), darker tones of color for depressed music, and all flashy and pink for hollywood/broadway/sensual jazz.
Shades of orange and brown can also portray a autumn like mood.(Or makes it feel like a sunset) If you are going for a tropical approach, Seagull/wave/wind sounds are a nice touch.

The comet Observatory has to be my favourite hub world in any mario game. The different parts, seeing it all power on as you continue, the story in the library and the little bonus' like the one up you could get with the red star just make it a joy to be in instead of filler between levels.
I just ran across this on Tidal as "other music you might like" and it's DELIGHTFUL.

Super Mario Galaxy was the first Main series Mario Game that I beat.... (cause I suck at mario) But this song is one of my favorites.... This was a good remix.

Galaxy is one of my favorite games of all time, and this is probably my favorite arrangement of maybe any video game song ever. The nostalgia, combined with just how good you are, makes this absolutely perfect
