You can improve the Airzound by screwing it on bigger bottle with the same thread pattern, for example here in Germany a 1 or 1.5l Coke/Sprite/Fanta bottle. They not just hold more air so you're able to use it more, they're thicker as well so you can get higher pressures so it's even louder. It's very helpful for situations where car drivers don't pay enough attention. That said, I'm glad I can whistle VERY loudly without needing the fingers, that never runs out of pressure. Many drivers have confirmed that they have in fact heard that whistling in their cocooned metal boxes which get even more cocooned in the years to come...
The goodnight bikes is so adorable! We need more stuff like this to get kids into biking and make it an art form that kids think about and love rather than just a toy.
I came across Air Zound's air horn in the 90's - Still have it... Great product! Best thing about an air horn that loud is when you are on the road, sometimes, a car comes up behind you and honks, just to mess with you. I usually wait until the car is just in front of me - then honk back. I makes them jump, and we all end up laughing. It is way to loud for warning joggers on the trail, but amazing to get the attention of someone in a vehicle that can't see you. Never forget, that a horn is not going to save you - react first, get out of harms way, then honk, if needed. They used a thicker plastic bottle in the 90's, I always used to run 100 PSI. After about twenty years the hose developed a leak and needed to be replaced. I have replaced the bottle a few times as well. The version I have did not come with a strap - it takes up bottle cage real-estate.
9:48 those drops coming off the squeeze filter into your bottle, from a bad source, could make you very sick. Have to be careful not to cross-contaminate. Don’t hold it directly over your water bottle or at least make sure you mostly dry the squeeze pouch off on your clothes or something.
"And it is locked to the tailgate, this thing, you cannot get it off without unlocking it. Unless you grab a scissor, then you could cut this." Seth you are so subtlely hilarious with how you deliver things and edit them. Also just ordered a copy of Goodnight Bikes--congrats on the release of your book!
My Silca seat pack with the boa has been rock solid since it's a plastic coated cable on the boa reel. I can get, two cO2 canisters,c02 inflator, dyna plug racer, extra dyna plugs, multitool, patch kit, tire lever and valve core tool in there with ease
Those boa strings are really strong. I saw my friends boa snowboard boots. Apparently it is a parachute grade kevlar string, the ratchet will break before the string, at that point you will have blood flow problems in your feet.
If it's Boa brand, then yes, very durable....so much so, I'd worry about it wearing into the seat rails or frame. Boa has excellent free (not even a shipping cost) replacements for their dials, not sure about the cord. I've never heard of anyone needing a cord replacement.
This channel is the reason why I bought my kids $500 spawn mountain bikes instead of $100 Walmart specials. It’s also why I bought a $2500 rocky mountain bike instead of an el cheapo.
Disclaimer, this comment might sound wierd lol. Dang Seth, your looking fitter and fitter every video! props to you man, you're doing a great job! congrats
I have the airzound horn it has literally saved my life more than once. The cap easily screws off the bottle and fits 2 ltr soda bottles for a bigger air tank. I wrapped the bottle with gorilla tape and and no issues for 2 plus years and i run mine at 100psi. I recommend it to all riders
I am happy to see we are on the same Amazon store fronts. Half the stuff in these videos I have in my wish list, these videos help me so much with what I end up purchasing. Air Zound got upgraded to cart status.
Bike specific air horn is brilliant. I need it for my commuter e bike because in my town, cars don’t look out for cyclists. Could also put it on my trail bike to celebrate after hitting jumps lol
The AirZound is hardly stupid or unnecessary. I've used one for over 10 years and it has saved my life soooo many times. In the Bay Area people drive way too fast and don't pay as much attention. I love my AirZound !!
All that "dropper post friendly" means, is that there's not a strap of any sort wrapped around the seat post that prohibits the dropper from going down all the way. Wedge type saddle bags usually have a strap around the seat post and if you run your dropper all the way down, it mangles the strap a bit. And if there's a buckle involved, it's worse.
I’ve talked to the guys from Cache a few times at various races. Great product, but if you drive a full-sized truck their pad is not going to cover your entire tailgate. They are supposed to be releasing a larger option at some point. Good people with great quality product, I’ll be buying one for my truck when they release the larger option.
I have the AirZound. It works fine, but the trouble is in any situation where you might want to use it, you are far safer keeping both your hands on the grips and covering your brake levers. Some electronic horns have a small remote button that you can position under your thumb, but the electronic ones are not as loud.
I had to LOL a bit at the pooper shovel. If I were gearing up to that level of preparedness I'd rather have a lightweight survival knife or a small machete-type multi tool so I could do much more than dig holes. And double-LOL at the poop depth gage! LOL!
06:20 More and more outdoor recreation places human waste has become a problem that you're actually supposed to pack it out with you. Burying doesn't work anymore for a lot of places.
...actually, I hope it catches on with people hiking with their dogs. And a pretty good design for backcountry/bike packing excursions. I've always used a gardening trowel carried inside a ziplock bag. I really like the design of that poop shovel.
Overnight backpackers use this, or similar all the time. Many highly frequented trails in the mountains require backpackers bag their shit and take it out with them, to keep from fouling water sources.
I had an airzound when I commuted to work in Manhattan in the 90s. I think O used it 4 times. Stopped cabs in their tracks. I also had a bell and a smaller electric horn.
I used to have the metal airzound in Sydney. Worked perfectly. I prefer having cycling infrastructure and respect on the road more, though. Now living in Germany.
Hi Seth you should look at the Honda ridge line. It has a trunk in the bed. The trunk can be used as an ice chest. It has a drain plug in the bottom so you can fill it with ice. It’s a great idea. I’m planning to put this ice chest in one of my hotrods.
FYI that Cache Jeffrey Cooler doesn't have clips for a pannier rack mount, in my opinion is a little bit of a missed opportunity, but there are probably other cooler bags that will mount to bicycle rear rack. Cache figured when marketing/designing this that someone who's driving their bikes to a location isn't going to need a luggage rack mounted on their bike, which is fair enough.
Topeak Burrito Pack looks almost the same as the Granite one, but it has classic velcro and I bought it because I was loosing tools on the trails all the time, cause just strapping them on the fram was not secure enough.
That pressurized plastic bottle being so close to my package would terrify me. One rock being flung up from the tire would probably make that thing go off like a bomb.
Seth, I wish there was a mtb company that catered to us fat kids. I am 6'5 and 300lb. Where do I find gear? Heck even your shirts only go to 3x which is no where near were I need to be. What say you?
What kind of gear are you referring to? Other than wearing armor you can ride in just about any kind of normal clothes. For example for most of the rides that my wife and I do here in Colorado we just wear normal shorts and tank tops, gloves and helmets. We typically only throw on jerseys and armor if we are doing bike park laps. For the gloves you honestly can wear those synthetic leather, kinda breathable, gardening gloves if you can’t find mtb/dirtbike gloves. And if specific mtb shoes don’t fit you can get away with flat bottom rubber shoes like vans or converse. You could try calling your local bike shop or a smaller brand bike company to see what they recommend too. Additionally you could look into dirtbike gear as they might have more sizes and the gear is so similar, other than shoes. Haha I really hope this helps and you get some gear that works for you. It’s awesome that you’re into mountain biking!
@@TheOutstandingLife The challange is pad type stuff really. I don't ride hard, but have come down pretty hard. So knee pads and elbow pads are a challenge.
6:10 NOOOO!! Hell no with teaching kids to use blinking lights. Those things are dangerous. When in complete darkness, it is incredibly hard to focus eyes on something that is blinking. It makes it very hard to estimate how fast the blinking light is going which makes it very hard to anticipate how you should change your own speed and driving lines. *ALWAYS USE NON-BLINKIN LIGHTS IN DARK!* Continuously burning lights make both you and the other traffic much safer than blinking lights. And I say this with healthy eyes with no focus issues. It will be even worse with any kind of focusing issues or other problems with your eyes. I have to say, I'm seriously disappointed about that. 3:33 Not for warning other pedestrians and bikers. It's for flipping them a finger without the need for you to remove your hands from the steering. It's for road raging safely. ;D
What a way to start the video

I agree 100% we need more of this
The kids can see themselves in the story. Very cool!

sounds like a lot of extra stuff on the bike when I can just yell
I bought one about a decade ago. It comes with a tin can roughly a pop can size. It doesn't fit a standard bottle cage. Wth!
The goat of mtb UA-camrs

It's more money, but I like the Loud Mini $100. It's usb rechargeable, and it is basically a car horn. It does get drivers' attention.
they're gonna do what to my bike? 1:53
This channel is the reason why I bought my kids $500 spawn mountain bikes instead of $100 Walmart specials. It’s also why I bought a $2500 rocky mountain bike instead of an el cheapo.
I love the goodnight bikes book it's so well done good job guys u have made the MTB community proud
This is the best intro I've ever seen. 😂😂😂😂😂

Lookin good there slim👍 Congrats with the book dude, that's awesome!🤙
Since I work at Amazon’s print on demand facility I wonder if I’m going to see your book printing through our facility🤔🤔🤔
can i just take a moment to say, since seths lifestyle scare/change video, he looks like he's lost weight and is doing well, hats off!
i love early uploads
"Ill just buy the cooler seperately, cus thats very cool" 😂 i like what you did there

I'd say not so subtle

Loved the cold open on this video. We all know what we're in for on one of these, so no need to explain what the video will be about.
I use a handheld personal safety air horn if I get chased by dogs. It works really well. I like the idea of a handlebar mounted one.
so glad I got to see this early, this series is amazing lol

I do a lot of urban cycling....the airzound is a lifesaver.
i like the air horn. my bell is pretty much useless these days due to people with the headphones in
Did you do a surly moonlander review?
Would be interesting seeing Seth send the Moonlander on Bermpeak sketchy trails!
I’m thinking of buying one, a review would be good
Was going to ask if anybody else noticed the Moonlander…
That’s a cool book, wish my son was a few years younger when I still read to him every night.
Just ordered 2 books. Looking forward to it!
When I used to commute to work by bike, I used the airzound numerous times, it definitely gets drivers attention
I didnt know airzound were still around, thats great to hear!!

In regard to the tool wrap Lezyne makes one thats identical minus the boa , they use a strap like the peatys roll.
06:20 More and more outdoor recreation places human waste has become a problem that you're actually supposed to pack it out with you. Burying doesn't work anymore for a lot of places.
Yeah carrying around human waste all day is a great idea!😂 Should be places to drop it off.
Poop shovel is silly.
...actually, I hope it catches on with people hiking with their dogs. And a pretty good design for backcountry/bike packing excursions. I've always used a gardening trowel carried inside a ziplock bag. I really like the design of that poop shovel.
beach goers in canada could use one ,,but bike just stay off trail eh bye
Overnight backpackers use this, or similar all the time. Many highly frequented trails in the mountains require backpackers bag their shit and take it out with them, to keep from fouling water sources.
The link is broken too.
0:31 "the cooler is pretty cool"
Happy thanksgiving Seth!!
We have electric horns on our trikes. And bells, for the more gentle communication.
I had an airzound when I commuted to work in Manhattan in the 90s. I think O used it 4 times. Stopped cabs in their tracks. I also had a bell and a smaller electric horn.
Do some David Bain style Christmas jerseys.
World famous in New Zealand.
Love the video keep up the amazing work
Why does your Revel have Fox 34 and Float now? And a different Surly?
Congrats on the 1 million.
I used to have the metal airzound in Sydney. Worked perfectly. I prefer having cycling infrastructure and respect on the road more, though. Now living in Germany.
damn seth you are so athletic shape now!! keep going my bro!! you look amazing
Just ordered the book the second I saw it! Can’t wait arrives in 2 days for my Two year old!
I need more moonlander!
Nice vid, Cyrano!
Your poop shovel link for amazon has already morphed into a different product.
If you want a comfy seat, get a recumbent bike. :D
BTW Seth, have you ever thought about trying out some recumbents?
That would be a good video. Riding it down jump trail
Family dog catching some air😂hell yea
Seth, your health glow up really shows. Keep it up, you look so fit and healthy, I bet you feel like a different person!
Just ordered a book for my youngest! Thanks Seth!
Seth looking like Rudolf 😂 very festive!
Thank you, as always, for sharing.
Hi Seth you should look at the Honda ridge line. It has a trunk in the bed. The trunk can be used as an ice chest. It has a drain plug in the bottom so you can fill it with ice. It’s a great idea. I’m planning to put this ice chest in one of my hotrods.
Seth just traded in a Honda Ridgeline for that F150 Lightning a little bit ago.
11:30 I’m on the peatys one. Switches bikes easily and the tools are separate the tube so can match tube size without unpacking
already liked the video before it even started
Looking good Seth!
My dads bike came with an air zound, the previous owner crossed africa on it, and they used it so lorries could hear them.
You’ve clearly lost some weight and look amazing! Keep up the fantastic work!
I have an airzound horn and its great
Gimmicks are fun providing they do something useful.
"120 psi" 😂
Fun experiment, but stand back
120psi, off the cuff 😂, typical Seth

I want that first product just so i can do what seth did
Yooo the moonlander is sick! I want one so bad
I was gonna say earplugs man. Fabulous book!
New Moonlander! I hope you do a review of that Seth, I'd give my left bollock for one of those things. 🤘🤘
Just ordered the book!
Why can't I stop watching these videos?
Check the Sawyer Squeeze. I like them because they also do a ton of donating to get people clean water all over the world.
You pls should do more flip bike videos that are so interesting and fun
Ive had the air forn for about 10 years. Haven't used it much but it works well.
12:04 the Silca version of this (and probably the one they copied) has on my road bike for years without fail
Topeak Burrito Pack looks almost the same as the Granite one, but it has classic velcro and I bought it because I was loosing tools on the trails all the time, cause just strapping them on the fram was not secure enough.
Dat Moonlander….😍
A standard marine air horn will fit in a water bottle cage. No need for hoses, valves, and zip ties.
Talk about that crazy fatbike!
That bottle could blow yer bollocks off at 120psi
That pressurized plastic bottle being so close to my package would terrify me. One rock being flung up from the tire would probably make that thing go off like a bomb.

lookin good slim!
Seth's looking jacked.
Really hoping to see a review of that amazing Surly fat bike of yours! ....
Hell yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
You need to review the peatys bottle and their tubeless valves

Could you use the air horn as a back up pump as well? I suppose it's not a ton of air, but might be enough to get you going in a pinch.
That horn is very loud even just by watching from a video at 40% volume.
