I just got mine! Such a chill, cool species. Stays in his lair mostly, and comes out occasionally just to see what’s up. Slow moving, except when food is involved! I enjoy having this on my desk at home
The reason why I’m watching this is because I just got one today as a freebie at a reptile expo, I was planning on buying just a dwarf species which I got, the Pumpkin Patch Tarantula and I got a red-knee for free! Thank you for the informative UA-cam video!
Guys, whenever a species name ends in "i" it is pronounced as "eye", whenever a species name ends in "ii" it is pronounced "ee - eye". If you're not certain about a pronunciation just remember that most species are either named after someone in the field (it's actually a faux pas to name a species you discover after yourself) or after a physical characteristic (for example the genus name Brachypelma means short (brachy) foot (pelma).
I just got my first tarantula. It is a Mexican Red Knee, she has really pretty colors. Thank you for the video is help to know I’m doing things right 😊 I was kind of scared that I didn’t have the right information before I got her.
Me and my whole family watch your videos religiously. My mom just got a brachypelma hamroii because she watched this vid and decided that was the tarantula for her lol we appreciate the knowledge you share and your experiences.
been wanting this tarantula forever i’ve had a pink foot which I had to rehome and two salmon pink bird eaters that are thriving I can’t wait to get a mexican red knee it’s something i’ve been wanting forever and i’m getting one in january!!
I just got mine today! It is such a chill species. I opened the take-home box’s lid to let him out, and he just casually strolled out into his new enclosure, no problem. He doesn’t mind my hand being in the cage either, dropping crickets and adding water to his bowl.
I'm afraid of spiders but absolutely fascinated by them. I'd like to eventually own and care for one of these beautiful creatures. But first, education. Thank you for the video.
I already have three tarantulas and always refused to get this one just because it is so common in the hobby. But a few days ago I saw a juvenile in my local reptile shop and just couldn't resist.. They are so beautiful!!
you like the only person in the world talking about this species, if i had to choose what my favorite spider is ITS THIS ONE! i love the colors no idea what they like as pets though.
I’ve been looking at getting a tarantula crib for each stage of development they look nice and I want it for a display even if the T isn’t out it the pure aesthetic properties of the cage sold me!
Thanks for this video. I know it was made several years ago but I just got my red knee yesterday and this video helped a ton. Hope everyone’s spiders are doing well!
The effort and advancement in the video is crazy, the video quality, the audio is clean, good useful information and even you now have chapters of each section of videography... crazy!! How long would you say it takes for you to make a high quality film like this?
Thanks a lot! That means do much to hear you say that. I am a one man show, unfortunately I dont have anyone that can help me film or edit. Between researching, writing, setting up lights, mics and cameras, filming, editing, music selection, etc....it averages between 60-90 minutes of work per minute of video.
Life saver. There was a major issue with FedEx getting my T's. 3 died (doli's and elegans) but I was so surprised to find after a month and a week of Fed Ex deciding not to send me my package that my hamorii sling and pulchra survived. I gave up on getting a home ready. This has been a last minute life-saver. My new hamorii thanks you :)
I just got my first tarantula. And it is a B. Hamorii! They are in that delicate spot of just barely juvenile. And I got to watch them eat for the first time and it was great.
Thank you so much for all this super information. I’m waiting to welcome my first sling B Hamorii in a couple of days and I’m very excited. It’s actually my Christmas present from my husband...😁
Such a great species and has been my favorite since I was a kid and my grandmother and I used to watch USA Network weekend horror movies and saw The Deadly Cargo and Kingdom Of The Spider's. But back in the mid to late 80's to even early 90's it was impossible to buy one of these beautiful T's at a local pet shop in Jersey where I'm from cause they were on the indangerd list and could only get them at reptile and exotic pet shows.
