The Brick Bank might be a better option for the back corner since you don’t like the Corner Garage. It also ties into the new Police Station since it has the laundromat referenced on the billboard of the police station. As far as the roads going straight into the walls, you can use an old model railroading trick of putting a mirror on the wall at the end of the road to make it look like the road keeps going. The Palace Cinema is also an awesome corner building with a great front facade.
A good start - like what you have done with the modulars but as you say it needs another side road where you can maybe put your smaller buildings. The sea maybe needs some boats and jet ski as well as a small jetty maybe. The rail track could also run through some of your city and maybe loop round the theme park
I think having all the creator sets on one side feels a bit crowded. What about breaking them up to make a town square where the center part can be a park that you can make the lego treehouse the center of. The big old tree kind of thing where town festivals and such gather around for.
Nice progress I would get the corner garage to give yourself more possibilities. I would also mod the city buildings to make backs for them or just make them bigger because they look out of place next to the row of modulars and it’s strange. I would keep the train track but it at the edge or something so it doesn’t take to much space
I love this with the road plates - that's one of the things I thought of with these road plates that the old ones couldn't. Another would be making the road in front of the Flatiron building with wedges and tiles angling one road away and opening up space for this; a third is using a lot of those wedges to make a non-square lego city; like the old Italian cities. Lego would need to release many more 8x16 plates for that though - especially without zebra crossings - and possibly a 15, 18, 30 or 45 degree road plate wedge. Or multiple, of course. Try some of the 4-wide macaroni pieces on the green plates near that crossing to make the edges more defined. I've tried designing a roundabout for them on a 32x32 baseplate but it needs a 16x16 circle in the center to look correct for a single lane roundabout. Maybe something you can do? Another thing I had though of was to use the ramps ( that you have in excess now) as car entry for garages near the sidewalk, to interrupt the sidewalk like it does in real life. Just one more; you can also use the ramps together with the zebra crossings to make them into raised zebra crossings (and to make it into a 16x16 without using another road plate) which doubles as a minor (high speed) speed bump.
I think those haters r worried about the other plates being discontinued. I o nly build starwars so these new plates will act as big smooth grey tiles. And the 8x16 with white lines remind me of walls in any empire type of build. And if ur running out of space, just build the city clear through the whole house😂
Nicely said about the new road plates, I personally love them and bought a couple of packs last weekend. You’ve definitely got to get the corner garage. I think if you don’t get it whilst it’s available on Lego.com you may regret it later. I’m going to take a shot in the dark and predict a florist shop as your next moc 🤔 mainly due to the flowers you’ve arrange in the centre reservation. I love the way your city is coming together and look forward to future developments.
Those new roads side by side look really good when you have two of them next to each other and some greenery in between...creates a look of a big city, somehow the image of LA pops into my head, especially with the beach at the end! All in all a great update and a good decision to do this👍 Whooops wrote the comment before watching the whole video😂
For the wall....do a small mural that looks like a Tunnel. In the same fashion the UCS millenuim falcon gave tge illusion on hallways with a perspective sticker.
I love your city build and I love the divided street and the number of street lights. The new set up is better. I like the corner garage. It give a logical reason why the road dead end at the garage.
I do like the beach at the new end of the table. And I really liked your idea to have two parallel roads with a median between. Lined with trees, that would look really nice. Have you considered raising the builds and roads part off the table a bit, perhaps with blocks of 2x4's? You could then make a wall facade and stairs or what not leading down to the beach.
Saw your channel on youtube suggestions. Glad i liked it. Hello from Japan. I found a way to use the old plates with the new ones. Just line up the centers together and i put the length of the slopes over the old road plate or next to it. Then add some flats on side and make some little steps along the sidewalks.😄 The slopes that came with it really comes in handy.haha Creates a little hill on your city.😊
Corner Garage will be a great add to your city! I hope it's still for sale for the normal price. I love that set I put some speed champion cars next to it. It looks so awesome good luck building your city👍
Hey Emily! I like the medians you have placed between your road plates. Very cute. 🙂 We are guessing that you are doing a Mario Kart MOC ? Haha. Mario was cruising in your city. 😆 Nice video. 👍😊
I'm not a city builder personally, I collect 80's nostalgia (for me) sets mostly but as for the new road base plates... they retired the old ones and they are impossible to find at a reasonable price now. So yeah, people are going to complain because there was no reason to take something away that was working perfectly fine for everyone just because they want to sell a new design. It's almost like they expect city builders to now switch to using all new ones which is a real slap in the face to the community who could have dozens if not hundreds of old roads. Visually, they don't work together. Lego did an oopsie.
Yes I agree. I think the new road plates are great for the market they are targeting in the City line. They are allowing kids to connect their sets together to make their own little LEGO city. But there is no real reason to discontinue the old plates that sooo many people use and love and have used for decades.
Looking great guys my road plates should be here soon what about going straight with the train like you said put Treehouse where you have the old road plate move them buildings to were the cure train was make road go all way to beach. ♥
The city looks awesome with those new road plates. I like how you've made the modulars and those new road plates compatible. As for the Corner Garage, I'd say do it. It might not be the best modular ever (Assembly Square is my favourite), but there's no such thing as a bad modular in my opinion. I'm a modular completionist though. However I don't own the first three as those are crazy expensive nowadays. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the next city update. :)
You made the new road plates look really good. I am still not a fan and sticking to the old ones, but nice work making it look good. There is hope haha..
that movie theater set does look cool. reminds me of the one from back to the future. beats me if I will ever be able to get some of those new road plates. as for your beach/harbor. if you have a extra table it may fit better on there. next to your lego city but not connected to it really.
I have an maybe idea u can display the rest of those sets...have the train tracks lead up to the Disney world castle and well behind the castle put the star wars ride and the Ferris wheel.....because amusement park needs rides...idk something like that...
Sorry, look like junior lego roads... if the plate would be 4x4 maybe, but 16x16 desn't look good... MOC roads with tiles lookd great!. But, very nice city street! Good luck!
Switch the diner and police station . The sign on the police is beter viseble and minifigs who are joying thier diner don’t have to watch ugly minifigs in swimsuits on the beach 😂😂😂
Haha! I'll have to try that! I do kind of like where the diner is though. The white beam around it looks cool and so I do kind of like having on the end
He shows up in some of the vlog styles videos sometimes, he'll also appear on some of my live stream builds to help me with the comments! Thanks for watching!
I think the corner is the one place where the corner garage would look really good, I’ve kind of come around to liking the garage.
I like how you've done a double road with the green area in the middle, also the mariokart on the road is cool!

Mario on his go kart: this new mushroom kingdom looks *a bit weird*
The corner garage is fun to build, working Doors and a working cailift and you get a truck with it

The sea maybe needs some boats and jet ski as well as a small jetty maybe. The rail track could also run through some of your city and maybe loop round the theme park
The new road plates make it look a lot smoother in my opinion

Yea that's something we've been thinking about too. I think we might be doing something similar to this soon, stay tuned!
Money not being an issue I think that the corner garage would look great, however if your on a tight budget than the other thing would work as well
Ooooh maybe the moc is Mario themed? I’m excited to see what happens next! The beach is super exciting and makes me want to add a beach as well.
It looks really pretty. Love how you used the new road plates.
Even though it's small city it really looks cool. I like it ;). Grass in between is excellent..keep up

I love the inclusion of the old Town Plan set! Gives me Back To The Future Hill Valley Vibes. Super cool!
The problem is not the new Road system but rather the lack of alternatives whilst older Road Base Plates inflate in price.
I think those haters r worried about the other plates being discontinued. I o nly build starwars so these new plates will act as big smooth grey tiles. And the 8x16 with white lines remind me of walls in any empire type of build. And if ur running out of space, just build the city clear through the whole house😂
If you can get your hands on the Theater modular it would look good in the corner.
Looks really good 😍
you should definitely get the garage to put in the corner
I saw mario driving the red car! The modular setup looks really nice can’t wait to see the complete city!
Looks really good. Of course it’s a work in progress, but that’s the fun part. Also, love the pink and teal convertibles. 💕👍🏻😊
Love the changes! The median is really cool too. Maybe a park in the corner? The tree might look good where the octane station is?
Right?! I love the median, I didn't even think about it till we started using them. Having a median really livens it up.
Nicely said about the new road plates, I personally love them and bought a couple of packs last weekend. You’ve definitely got to get the corner garage. Pretty neat cityscape Emily.💗
i love that double street, really unique idea haven’t seen anyone else do that yet
I love the corner garage, but that’s up to you

oh man your city is really tempting me to get some new road plates and make my own even though i don’t have the space

The separated road was a nice touch. The joy of Lego though, nothing has to stay as it’s built. Keep going. Enjoying the progress.
Hey Emily! I like the medians you have placed between your road plates. Very cute. 🙂 We are guessing that you are doing a Mario Kart MOC ? Haha. Mario was cruising in your city. 😆 Nice video. 👍😊
Thanks Sara! I wasn't expecting the median to look that nice and you got it! We love Mario and Mario Kart, hopefully we can get that out soon.
@@Emmasaurus Cool! 😊 I look forward to it. Your other Mocs looked great.
You should totally get the corner garage! It is a GREAT set and would like fantastic at one of the corners of your city.
Like your road good luck with your Lego city
Is the Easter egg Unikitty?
Would the Sesame Street Lego Ideas set be good in the corner?
We're actually planning on making that set into its own modular!

I have the Corner garage on the Same Place in my City... i mean next to the streets and next to the Pariser Restaurant... and it’s Looks wonderfull...
Looks good! And definitely smart to move the beach. That Mario must be the hint...Mario Kart moc maybe?

I love the New road plates too. Wish they weren’t sold out, so I could finish my LEGO City, haha.
I think you should get the corner garage
You should build a mountain side by assembly square with a fake tunnel for your road.
Curved road plates would be nice too.
I think the new roadplates look really great in your city. It just looks a lot more clean and smoothe😋
Love the new road plates
Hey ☺️
I really like that their shinny. And they look really nice

Is that a custom cinema? If it is, it looks really cool and I love the street lamps as well!!!
That's the cinema from the Town Plan set from 2008.
@@SalixScape oh ok, thanks for letting me know 🙂
Love the Mario cart

I think the easter egg was Mario in a car? Maybe a Mario Kart Moc or something Mario themed? Also your city looks great so far!
Do you have costum stuf?
how many sets of those new road plates did you use in here?
We were able to get our hands on 5 of the new sets!
I think you should really consider levels, with your limited space. Could solve some of the train/space issues
I'd love to try something like that! Great idea
How did you raise up your modulars?
I made another video on the road plates recently! I found two pretty easy methods to work with the modulars and road plates :)
The new road plates look really good due you have a name for your City 😃
Name reveal coming soon 😉
double roads, that's what I wanted to see :)
Sorry, look like junior lego roads... if the plate would be 4x4 maybe, but 16x16 desn't look good... MOC roads with tiles lookd great!. But, very nice city street! Good luck!
Get the corner garage!!

i don't get the hate, i enjoy the new ones more. I'm glad I haven't started a city yet cause everything would be a pain to change lol
Please can you respond to this message how many role-played sets did you have to use for this
Do you mean road plates? We had 5!
@@Emmasaurus yes thanks so iknow how many i will need
