Of all the new releases I've played this year Street Fighter 6, Armored Core 6, Hifi Rush, Pizza Tower and maybe Tears of the Kingdom were my favorite games this year
OLED's infinite contrast advantage only comes into play when there's no reflections what so ever, otherwise the reflection will make your black pixels not black anyway. So if you have high end LCD it won't look very different except in a pure dark room.
I couldn't get past the horrid d-pad on the legion go. To me, the Steam Deck just hit all the right areas of what I needed in a handheld. Picked up an OLED, which addressed the main two issues I had with the deck: Screen size and battery life.
HDR technically shouldn't look much different than SDR for most things on screen, but the color gamut and contrast is expanded and smaller highlights can get much brighter. HDR 1000 doesn't mean the whole screen gets 1000nits, just highlights. Also, the menus look washed out because they still use SDR. Only the game itself is HDR. You can minimize the blowout by adjusting the HDR/SDR brightness balance in the Windows HDR settings.
There's a huge difference between HDR and SDR on streaming services like Netflix. I tried saving some money by downgrading my Netflix plan, but after having been spoilt by their HDR streams I couldn't handle the washed out SDR image, it was absolutely awful 😅. That said, I have an Xbox One X which supports HDR. And while it does look fantastic, I agree that SDR also looks great, so maybe it's a video game 'thing'? Perhaps games are, by their very nature, more vibrant and constrasty than movies/TV shows, making it less obvious... Interesting, I'd not really thought about it before...
my first time listening to the pod, & it’s absolutely fantastic. loved listening to the various points about these devices - some I have, others I don’t & it’s great content. Been using my Ally, & I love it. I had a SteamDeck (might get the OLED) & I can’t understate enough how impressed I am with Valve continually supporting the device & pushing the envelope in their own way.
I have zero issues with the OG deck sticks. Even with them being a bit flat, i still managed to beat Sekiro using them and never had to think about it. But at first I wasn't sure about their shape.
Much as I love my 4K laptop, for a device focused entirely on running at 10 watts I hope Steamdeck 2 launches with a 1600x1200 screen just for the retro nostalgia (1600x1200 was "top of the line" throughout the 90's).
I’m a longtime subscriber, and just commenting on a FORMATTING preference: I think the discussion works better with 4 speakers, and 5 is one too many. It just leads to too many vocal collisions, and I think it would be too awkward to implement some kind of formal turn-taking system. I also think 55 minutes is the perfect length (broadcast TV formula)
Well, about the fan. Valve definetly thought the fan was an issue, becasue they changed the fan curve and also released silent revisions that changed the fan. It actually became roulette for a while whether or not you got the quiter fan. Also, when you live in a rural area where the apparent noise levels of the area (essentially the noise level that you can't specifically hear because you adjust to it when you move to a new area) are much much lower, the fan noise can stand out a lot more. I do also apprecieate Russ's take though where he likes the sound of the machine at work. Like I kind of like that about my PC sometimes like the sound equates to how powerful my PC is lol But then it can affect my relaxation if its too bad like the original model PS4 that sounded like it was getting reeady to fly out of my window and off to the moon when just looking at the map in God of War.
I really didn't realize that HDR is still seen as this weird thing that does nothing for many people. For me it's the single greatest increase in visual fidelity ever, and without performance cost. But without a good standard protocol that is accepted by everyone, I guess we are still in the HDR stone age. For movies it's easy now, it's Dolby Vision. But we need a good hdmi standard for that for gaming. That means that currently, where you never know which games supports what or not, turn ON tone mapping. Internet experts will scream at you that "it's not accurate!!!!!", but without any tone mapping, it's basically not worth using hdr in games at all. In Alan Wake 2 for example, it looks outright amazing, especially in all those twilight scenes, where stuff looks really dark. In a lot of other games it just gives the image so much more depth. SDR is basically done to look like printed colors, a picture, HDR looks like a window to a scene.
The LCD was a huge problem for me on the og Steam Deck. I know it sounds dramatic but hear me out. As someone with a Switch OLED, I found myself playing most of my games on that despite loving everything else about the Deck. The matter of fact was, that most of my games looked better and were more portable on the Switch. I only grabbed my Steam Deck for very select titles, which was not how I initially intended to use it. The Deck OLED is just an instabuy for me. All the other bonuses are just that, bonuses. The simple fact was that with the LCD was preventing me from using it. There are drawbacks to the Switch too, and I do very much dislike those flaws, but man that screen is just wow. I have Enter The Gungeon on both Switch and Steam. I really wanted to play it on deck but man, maybe its the popping colours on the OLED panel but it was felt like much more of a dopamine hit whereas on the Deck LCD, it felt kind of bland, boring. The screen was the deck's only drawback, and it was a big one. If you were to nitpick you might say battery life. They have now gone beyond fixing these issues and more. It is the perfect refresh to the current line. So yeah, I am eagerly awaiting my Steam Deck OLED.
I love my Ally but honestly windows ruins the experience. Mostly because standby doesnt work worth a crap, as a dad, the pickup and play standby/resume of the Deck is the most important feature for me. I just can't wait for a SD2 with more powerful apu to give me Ally/Legion-Go level performance in AAA games
in case it wasnt mentioned, the reason why we feel microphone placenement is important, is because of something you or rich arent considering. if you put the mic at where YOU would hear it, that audio then gets played through my speakers and im most likely not placing my speakers direcrly into my ear. so realistically, if youre providing us with a sound test, you need to consider that most people will have different audio setups. its probably best for you to reproducee xactly what the hardware is producing vs what your ear-distanceis.
You guys are great I listen while cutting grass or any yard work to make that work feel like nothing. We always try to stay away from fanboyism which is tough at times especially in general comments. With that being said I've had the steam deck since launch and wanted the thing to be oled from the start. I got the oled model news and wanted oled model immediately. I considered the Ally and Legion GO. But there's things I like about the steam deck that keep me from investing in those other ones. 1. Valve is a gaming first company. 2. Steam is the one that don't run windows. 3. Steam deck has the console like nature feel. I just think your budget and what you enjoy the most is where you should play. For me I just like the price and ecosystem of steam deck. I'm expecting one day Valve will work out anti cheat software in linux and it will be a no brainer for me.
The fan boy part is so relatable.. any over hyped thing on the internet, I'm usually trying to ignore it till I can determine for myself or whatever. But these things came out and I'm flying to micro center and best buy like an apple fan boy on launch day🤣
i think when talking about the screens, the advantage of OLED is obvious but it really really becomes obvious in a dark room, like so much better than any LCD its a joke, you cant even see the edges of an OLED display in a dark room and the impact that has on your viewing experience is huge because the image looks as if its floating in front of you, like you can reach out and touch it and thats where i think you realize how incredible OLED displays are... in somewhat good light the impact of that display is reduced and next to a good LCD that LCD looks a lot more competitive in comparison. But then there is all of the smaller upsides, the pixel response time on OLED is phenomenal but you only notice that in games with darker trees or something that may ghost or smear on movement and that is lessened anyway on IPS but you try an average VA panel with darker greens and my god its a stark reminder how damn good OLED is. We do have a remarkable ability to adjust and adjust very quickly though, if you have a legion go and dont have the OLED next to it or know how to really find the advantages of that OLED then you will in all likelihood be very very happy with a screen like that on the GO because its just a great display, that cant really be said about the LCD deck which clearly has problems producing deeper color, reds always look dark orange on that thing. With all that said though, i promptly sold my rog ally on the deck OLED release and ordered the OLED, ive used a LG C1 oled for 2 years or so and absolutely like was said the honeymoon period has worn off, i have forgotten how good it actually is but i know how to remind myself, dark room, ori, HDR on... no visual gaming experience like it.
What gets me about the Portal is that it's just a highly restrictive tablet. If you wanted to stream your PS5 to a tablet with a telescopic controller attached, you could have done that years ago when the PS5 released. Right now there's a decent Walmart tablet for 150 bucks and gamepads with attachments are available for around that same price so there we are. But then of course, we can use bluetooth, use a web browser, and stream from anything else that isn't a PS5 and cloud gaming as well. The attitude of 'But I want a seamless experience, I don't want to go through a setup' is also problematic because it is what causes Sony to not care and not give us a seamless Android or Linux app for streaming in the first place. If we reward them with 200 bucks for not giving us a seamless Linux app, then things will never change
Bg is the game of year, for me personally this is why, I had never played any bg games ever, I never really play turn based strategy games, so the fact that a game converted me to liking the genre that’s a game of the year winner for me
You absolutely have to opt in to the pc part of the deck should you want to do anything not steam related. But it's track pad and easy to launch keyboard help a lot. The said still hate the deck form factor. Waiting on the mini. Got lucky and sold my deck right before the oled announcement
Great video content, I ordered the lenovo Legion Go, but now the steam deck oled came out. I cancelled the legion go as the comfort seems better for the steam deck. I'm a gamer handheld who wants the issue of Windows updates and changes settings for games to work. Plus, the price of the new oled is a no-brainer comparison to the lenovo go.
Really glad to see everyone back on! Been watching since the beginning and it’s great to see the group’s chemistry get better and better as the episodes of on.
I get where you are coming from with the Dune movie being the same store, but it's not the same as RE4 being on the game awards. The new Dune recast all the actors, changed many story elements and for all noteworthy metrics is a new move. RE4 is reselling the same content with visual upgrades.
honestly the legion go screen is so good and big.. yes oled is the best.. but that screen size and hte resolution does make a huge difference. it really depends on what you want and what kinda gamesyou want.
I just got my limited edition OLED in! Screen is beautiful however have had a terrible time setting up due to the device not connecting to my wifi. Restarted it, factory reset. Looks like this is an issue right now with the new OLED wifi cards. The set up probably was worse than the rog ally setup although I'm pretty good with windows.
Much respect for bringing up the Game Awards incongruity with how bogus they are most particularly this year with all the rampant layoffs. Wasn't expecting it but it's always a good topic to bring to light. Edit: Also completely agree with the haste with which some titles are getting added to the tgas at the literal last seconds and how annoying it is.
As a Cloud gamer almost exclusively I hate using my phone that's why the G Cloud exists in the first place. There is no way I can get more than 15 minutes without being interrupted. I need space on my phone for more important things I can't do not disturb I have kids. Those phone controllers aren't convenient to carry around in your pocket drain battery I gave up on those not to long ago. But I would only buy the PSPortal if it was in a bundle either with the PS5, the headphones or both!
Fan noise for me is a factor when it is ramping up and down over and over. Steady fan noise is much more acceptable up to a certain volume. Same on my desktop. I'd rather have a low to medium constant fan sound then a fan that is going up and down from low to medium....
I really hope at least some of you guys will do a head to head against the glossy vs etched displays. I'm just not a fan of the way that etched/matte finishes mute the colors and blacks. It just doesn't make any sense to me to hurt the display quality with an etched glass screen.
@@airjohnpro no, people should be able to see the difference head to head so they can make an informed decision. Valve shouldn't market the etched glass as "premium" when you lose color and contrast with it. It's misleading.
But they don’t sell two of the same storage where your only choice is the glass. You either want 512GB or 1TB storage. If you are at all concerned about it, buy the 512GB model. For example, I only want the Limited Edition case so I didn’t have a choice. And this isn’t the first time they offered etched glass, so nothing new to be discussed.
I have a matte hdr monitor that I use on my gaming PC and I hate that the colours are washed out. If that’s something that would annoy you, go glossy. It’s not even a debate. Glossy is better for contrast.
@@airjohnpro and that's a bad thing. So if you want a LE or 1TB, you have to get the etched glass screen which hurts quality. I ordered the 512GB because it was the only one without etched glass. So Valve saved me money, but a worse quality screen shouldn't be forced on people who want more storage or a special colorway.
i have a 4k oled monitor and it takes the most power out of all my panels.. so much it can't even power on sometimes.. and hdr... it sucks up alot of power.. so there is a plus to lcd in that regard. same with my fold.. its got an oled panel.. but it drains much faster than my other devices.
Hey Gentlemen, love the info you guys provide us! I have an observation about the Steam Deck OLED that I haven’t heard addressed. Have any of you had an issue using the OLED plugged in with something other than the AC adapter provided? I’ve attempted to use two different UGreen adapters, 60w and 100w, but regardless which one I use the OLED runs down to 0. Dead! Usually without warning. Your thoughts?
yea i mean, steamdeck with Chiaki4deck just made the ps portal completely obsolete. but i guess if you dont have a steamdeck, i suppose it could be fine
The PS Portal is redundant. Sony already has remote play apps for most mobile phones and tablets, and windows. They need to release a native app for Linux (e.g. Steam Deck), but it's still available there through Chiaki. Through a similar discussion format with my friends we've come up with a wishlist that would have made it worth it. - PS Plus catalog streaming - PS4 and older native gaming / emulation (upscaled maybe?) - WiFi 6E would have been great for increased stream quality E.g. handheld + streaming machine
How about a video of cloning my steam deck ssd to move everything to the new oled model? I have spent a ton of time tweaking and downloading non steam emulation and don’t want to start over. Can you clone one deck to the other with opening them up? Want to sell my old deck after the transfer is complete.
The earbuds new audio technology that's what they are priced that way, they sound better then most to any earbuds at $200, it's more for gaming, too big to go out with them, if you want the same quality with the other bells and whistles they have other options for $300+
Great video ! Couple of things , upload speeds are very important , download speeds need to be above 1 gig , bandwidth is a problem , can’t have anything downloading in the background on your ps5 as it will drop the quality of the stream . Also unplug the HDMI cable so it won’t send audio and video signal . All these things will give you a great experience .
Kyle is amazing, his vocals were low in the mix while we were recording and so we often couldn't hear when he started talking. We all apologized to him afterwards once we figured it out!
I swear half of the time I can hardly participate in the gaming awards stuff just because of how little new stuff I've played...that or bad memory of what I've played at least earlier in the year and whether that was even this year or not.
The price of the portal just absolutely doesn't make sense for what you get. If they'd had PS4 remote play and PS Plus streaming too, that'd be completely different.
the steam deck sound is massively better, but go once u tune it iys not bad. most important is important to have less tinny sound.. just being loud doesn't make something sound good.
16:50 So to try and help you understand HDR a little better... With SDR we are limited to 0-100 nits in terms of brightness in a scene. You can make the screen brighter (so 300-400 nits or crank your brightness even higher like 700-800 nits). HDR on the other hand allows content creators to master their content to be 0-1000 nits. Or 0-4,000 nits. Or even 0-10,000 nits. Basically you can have content be extremely dark and extremely bright at the same time. That is simply impossible with SDR only allowing 0-100 nits. Obviously displays are no where near 10,000 nits yet and that will only be used for peak highlights like the sun or a camp fire. Most of the scene would be aiming for a much lower nit value just like SDR content. Also by enabling HDR you move to the Rec. 2020 color space instead of sRGB so the ability to display more colors goes waaaaaaay up. OLED TV + Planet Earth II UHD Bluray is absolutely incredible looking. As for games Ratchet and Clank or Spiderman have excellent HDR implementations.. many other games do not. It's really hit or miss. A game like RDR2 just straight up looks better in SDR imo. So game developers have to be paying close attention to that pipeline while the game is being developed and just slapping it on at the end doesn't turn out great (Starfield being the latest victim of garbage HDR).
Playstation, Nintendo, whatever, that's an OS running a game. Steam Deck is the same. It's a console. The only realy difference is that it lets you USE the OS out of the box.
I appreciate Kyle mentioning games like Hogwarts Legacy not even being considered for a single Game Award, probably due to politics. Would it have won Game of the Year, No... But it would've been nice to see it at least mentioned and at nominated for the graphics or soundtrack.
im getting rog ally for the same price as steam deck oled as a black friday sale ,which one would you recommend i play some fps here and there but idont think ill play fps on a handheld cause i got dedicated pc for that, love triple As i want something portable with a decent battery life . On paper ally seems awesome but the battery life in SD i so good im kinda into tinkering so i dont mind the windows in ally
Yeah this was something I thought too. You don't "have" to go into desktop mode if all your games are supposed and in steam. But if they aren't or aren't supported you have to go into desktop mode a lot and it's definitely more tedious than just the mild initial setup you need to do in windows where you download hhc or Riva and set steam to launch on boot or use play nite and never have to see the desktop basically ever
@JohnRodriguezVodnikHOTS yeah. I have liked that having to learn how to make games run on steam deck has been fun as a new PC gamer. And it just makes me want a Powerful desktop.
It is great. I don’t get the hate it’s getting. If it was $300, then I could understand. But this is priced the same as the DualSense Edge or an Elite 2 wireless controller. And you get a lot for that $$.
What he said toward the end about he doesn’t feel like Alan wake 2 should be on the list because a lot of people havnt played it…. No it’s not that at all, there is millions of people have played it and that’s why it’s on their as it’s very well received you guys just havnt played it because you make UA-cam videos and don’t sit down and play games enough.
Kyle: "It's a console by default and an opt-in PC" Agreed! Just because something runs linux or is an x86/x86_64 doesn't make it a PC. Playstation has been using BSD for their OS in most of their systems and no one calls them a PC.
The problem with this discussion is you all obviously like oversaturated and inaccurate screens that are displaying oversaturated colours in the incorrect space. In this scenario you won’t like an OLED since generally they are built for accurate colour reproduction - which is why valve have added the sRGB colour option as this is accurate colour space for games. It’s easily and without doubt the best screen in any of these handhelds, better than the switch OLED and a generation better than the legion go or ASUS rog ally…but if you just want oversaturated brightness then frankly the screen doesn’t matter so much.
Does anyone have any idea why ratchet and clank, and cod cold war crash on the legion go? I have had zero problems with any games except those 2 they get to main menu and crash immediately. I thought maybe it was the res but they still crash on lowest settings and 800 p. Drivers are also up to date.
The idea of the PS Portal actually does not bother me I think its fine as an accesory but it has design faults. The Wii U GamePad from like 2012 was able to stream directly from the console to the pad with very little input lag and no need to connect to the router. Apparently the reason that the Portal cannot do this, its because the PS5 would need an extra Wi-fi transmitter built in. The Wii U has 2 wifi transmitters, 1 for the Internet and one for the GamePad. The PS5 only has 1. What makes this hilarious though, is that the PSVR2 would also have benefitted greatly from this. So I think it is lack of foresight in the architecture of the PS5. Sorry Mark Cerny.
Wouldn’t dare buy a steam deck again till they get more power. The amount of games I run into trouble with. Also the inability to have flexibility as it pertains to other launchers is ridiculous.
My biggest problem with the deck was the power. I used it alot for emulation and alot of games especially ps3 wouldn't run well without a ton tweaks. The ally has literally run everything I threw at it effortlessly! If this oled is more powerful then I'd consider it. I'm more leaning towards the legion go for new handheld purchase. The portal isn't even a thought! That thing is trash!
Yea I hear u. Like I said the rog ally so far as run every game I've thrown at it nearly perfect. I think the deck for what it is, is absolutely amazing. I just can't justify for myself getting the oled without having some sort of power boost. I'm even having trouble justifying the legion go. I'm probably gonna hold off and see what the deck 2 or ally 2 has to offer.
Com'n, this year has been one of the worst year for video game if not the worst year ever. Triple A particularly. Indie games have been saving the video games for the past 3-4 years.

Like I kind of like that about my PC sometimes like the sound equates to how powerful my PC is lol
But then it can affect my relaxation if its too bad like the original model PS4 that sounded like it was getting reeady to fly out of my window and off to the moon when just looking at the map in God of War.
We need 12 bit oleds on the market for real dolby vision. It may be years before that is standard.
@@eternalbeing3339But it's at least a standard about how the tone mapping information of the material
Really looking forward to SD2, Legion Go 2 and Rog Ally 2. The baseline is set now with HDR, OLED and VRR for the screen on these devices.
But these things came out and I'm flying to micro center and best buy like an apple fan boy on launch day🤣
Lets get to the important stuff, how does the vent smell?
They also laid off the composer, who is an absolute legend in the Destiny community
It’s that move that makes me think they’re abandoning the game after TFS
i think when talking about the screens, the advantage of OLED is obvious but it really really becomes obvious in a dark room, like so much better than any LCD its a joke, you cant even see the edges of an OLED display in a dark room and the impact that has on your viewing experience is huge because the image looks as if its floating in front of you, like you can reach out and touch it and thats where i think you realize how incredible OLED displays are... in somewhat good light the impact of that display is reduced and next to a good LCD that LCD looks a lot more competitive in comparison.
Been using the portal for the last 3 days. I have started on my backlog, with guardians. It is so good. All I want for the portal is native streaming.
😂
Thank Gaben for the etched glass option... I hate that matte displays have gone away, but at least I can get one with the Steam Deck.
Gotta admit, having a PS Portal with an 8” screen has made me start to want a Leigon Go
I just got my limited edition OLED in! Screen is beautiful however have had a terrible time setting up due to the device not connecting to my wifi. Restarted it, factory reset. Looks like this is an issue right now with the new OLED wifi cards. The set up probably was worse than the rog ally setup although I'm pretty good with windows.
PS Portal has a lot of marketing behind It. Nothing else.
Sold mine after two days it was an agitating experience but at least I made $40 off it lol
Chiaki reportedly has less latency than PS Portal. I would much rather use my Deck OLED for remote play than that thing.
The 512 is the superior model
512 ftw!!
the LE way better, you feel you have a new steam deck on your hands
I can't believe people said no one cared about battery life increase.. BG3 is 2 hours at best. The battery life increase is why I bought it
Fan noise for me is a factor when it is ramping up and down over and over. Steady fan noise is much more acceptable up to a certain volume. Same on my desktop. I'd rather have a low to medium constant fan sound then a fan that is going up and down from low to medium....
An xperia 1 with the 4k screen that has a dualsense attachment and works like the portal would be so cool. I would buy it.
Yes! Thank you for bringing up the Xperia Play! We need a modern version of it.
I really hope at least some of you guys will do a head to head against the glossy vs etched displays. I'm just not a fan of the way that etched/matte finishes mute the colors and blacks. It just doesn't make any sense to me to hurt the display quality with an etched glass screen.
Can’t wait until we’re done talking about this. Buy whichever one you want.
So Valve saved me money, but a worse quality screen shouldn't be forced on people who want more storage or a special colorway.
metroid prime remastered is my best gaming experience of 2023
Some people also get their tactical pizza cutter with laser guide...
Love what you guys do. Keep up the good work.
To be fair my pizza cutter has sliced thru more quesaillas then pizzas to which it was intended. Granted this is prolly outlyer data.
i have a 4k oled monitor and it takes the most power out of all my panels.. so much it can't even power on sometimes.. and hdr... it sucks up alot of power.. so there is a plus to lcd in that regard. same with my fold.. its got an oled panel.. but it drains much faster than my other devices.
I use UGREEN adapters exclusively. No issues.
yea i mean, steamdeck with Chiaki4deck just made the ps portal completely obsolete. but i guess if you dont have a steamdeck, i suppose it could be fine
Why not just buy a screen protector instead of the etched glass. That way you always have a choice.
That's such an odd choice for the thumbnail lol. Was the Deck's long initial firmware update too underexposed for the camera?
Buying an LCD backlit tv and not OLED is a huge regret of mine
The PS Portal is redundant. Sony already has remote play apps for most mobile phones and tablets, and windows. They need to release a native app for Linux (e.g. Steam Deck), but it's still available there through Chiaki.
Through a similar discussion format with my friends we've come up with a wishlist that would have made it worth it.
- PS Plus catalog streaming
- PS4 and older native gaming / emulation (upscaled maybe?)
- WiFi 6E would have been great for increased stream quality
E.g. handheld + streaming machine
My ps5 is a gran turismo set with a fanatec wheel and a racing seat so the ps porta is perfect for me.
You only need to setup chiaki once for the ps5 remote play its worth it especially with the wifi 6 oled i recommend to try it
Yep, I have a video about this.
As someone who’ll probably never be able to afford a Steam Deck, I’m happy living vicariously through you guys!
Never???
Never? I want to donate mine now.
@@highlander5304 life situation will make it unlikely at least for a few years. It’s alright, good things come to those who wait :)

How about a video of cloning my steam deck ssd to move everything to the new oled model? I have spent a ton of time tweaking and downloading non steam emulation and don’t want to start over. Can you clone one deck to the other with opening them up? Want to sell my old deck after the transfer is complete.
The idea that a remake can't win "game of the year" is wild to me. It's an argument that falls apart with nearly any dissection.
The earbuds new audio technology that's what they are priced that way, they sound better then most to any earbuds at $200, it's more for gaming, too big to go out with them, if you want the same quality with the other bells and whistles they have other options for $300+
It's nice to have everyone back, this episode is hilarious
Great video ! Couple of things , upload speeds are very important , download speeds need to be above 1 gig , bandwidth is a problem , can’t have anything downloading in the background on your ps5 as it will drop the quality of the stream . Also unplug the HDMI cable so it won’t send audio and video signal . All these things will give you a great experience .
What’s best handheld for epic games library?
Poor Kyle he got hardly any time lol think you forgotten just how legendary his is for the deck community
Bill need to return that bad unit and get a new one
the steam deck sound is massively better, but go once u tune it iys not bad. most important is important to have less tinny sound.. just being loud doesn't make something sound good.
Love these guys Modern, Chill, Informative and so much fun Thanks guys and more videos like this please 👍😎🍹🍸🍾🍍🍯🦐🥩🍺🍤💯👌
im getting rog ally for the same price as steam deck oled as a black friday sale ,which one would you recommend
i play some fps here and there but idont think ill play fps on a handheld cause i got dedicated pc for that, love triple As i want something portable with a decent battery life . On paper ally seems awesome but the battery life in SD i so good im kinda into tinkering so i dont mind the windows in ally
Steam deck oled if you care about battery. It lasts twice as long per charge.
return the unit is stuck on 44%. There's a few people they could get past it ...just return the unit and get a new one.
I played Alan Wake 2 and it's my game of the year.
On steam deck. If you want to play some unsupported games ypu sometimes have to use desktop mode.
Good podcast. The PS Portal is great btw; sounds like maybe he didn't get one to try out?
It is great. I don’t get the hate it’s getting. If it was $300, then I could understand. But this is priced the same as the DualSense Edge or an Elite 2 wireless controller. And you get a lot for that $$.
Its 300$ where i live 😢
What he said toward the end about he doesn’t feel like Alan wake 2 should be on the list because a lot of people havnt played it…. No it’s not that at all, there is millions of people have played it and that’s why it’s on their as it’s very well received you guys just havnt played it because you make UA-cam videos and don’t sit down and play games enough.
did anyone on the panel test the headphone jack on the new deck?
Kyle: "It's a console by default and an opt-in PC"
Agreed!
It’s easily and without doubt the best screen in any of these handhelds, better than the switch OLED and a generation better than the legion go or ASUS rog ally…but if you just want oversaturated brightness then frankly the screen doesn’t matter so much.
should I get the steam deck OLED model or the Lenovo legion go?
Depends on if Windows is important to you.
Rog ally and steam deck are the best options out there.
Does anyone have any idea why ratchet and clank, and cod cold war crash on the legion go?
I have had zero problems with any games except those 2 they get to main menu and crash immediately. I thought maybe it was the res but they still crash on lowest settings and 800 p.
Drivers are also up to date.
Bill, did you hook it up to the ps5, like a controller, and try to update it loke that maybe. I don't have one, but I wondered if that could work
Yep
@@NerdNest damn that sucks I hope they can send you out a swap
PS3 emulation is something that still requires a pretty strong CPU even on desktops, so it’s not unexpected that the deck wouldn’t emulate ps3 great.
