My 12 year old son and I just bought a 84 Camaro at a garage sale. He is so excited to start working on it cleaning it up! Your videos are super helpful for ideas! Thanks!
I was about that age when my Dad got a 92' RS camaro from my aunt that she was going to junk. He already had enough cars, so I asked him to let me have it. He said, "Help me fix it and it's yours" we rebuilt the engine together and fixed it up enough to keep it stock and run. As soon as I got my license he handed me the keys. 15+yrs later It's been my 1 and only car ever since! My dad and I still work on my car to this day. We've done quite a bit over the years. Used to be auto, switched it to stick, swapped the rear end, put disc brakes in the rear, and slowly been restoring it little by little. Last month I got the engine bay painted and the old man and I dropped in a LS1, a tubular k member and A-arms! Next is subframe connectors and going to get the whole body pained. I will NEVER sell my car, it means too much to me. I'm not home most of the year, but when I am, you best believe my dad and I are working on my car!
@@SniperMan5858 Dude that's an amazing car story. Imagine if you are able to pass it on to the next generation and keep it running. That would be so cool

Beautiful gen 3. It's awesome seeing these get some love. Keeping the stock 305 and making it a better driver and more comfortable is such a great way to have a reliable ride that is also a head turner without taking out a second mortgage.
I've had 3 third gens and miss them all an 86 305 5 speed with a 4bbl, 91 rs with a swapped in 350tbi, and a 92 rs 305tbi. Honestly the 305 is a great motor and I daily drove mine for years. Curious did you have a two stage or a three stage flow master prior to the magna flow? Just curious I'm redoing my 92 and might be changing my exhaust out and I've had a three stage since god knows whenever lol
I've owned GEN4 LS1 cars, but never a GEN3. The GEN3's are lookers. IMO someone should do to a GEN3 Fcar what they've been doing to Foxbodies for decades. The same way people have been LS swapping Foxbodys, someone should GEN3 Coyote swap a GEN3 Fbody. With the GEN3's strut setup you could probable squeeze a Coyote in there, and while Coyotes are pretty tall and wide compared to LS, they're noticably shorter with they're much smaller bore spacing. A high spinning full bolton 5L in the low to mid 500 WHP range without the need for an aggressive cam setup would be very fun in a Fbody.
I'm about to be 20 in about a month and I plan to get a 3rd gen Camaro to learn how to work on cars. Should I pull the trigger or go get a different car to start learning?
For me, I got a 3rd gen as my first car, and still going strong after 4 years as it's been my daily the whole time. I think they're pretty reliable (at least in my experience) and still relatively simple to work on and to learn on. If you really want a different car and not some generic "grocery getter" and you like it enough, then go for it. Also just be ready to deal with a bit of rust (especially with a t-top option car).
are you talking about the supplementary little metal line that goes down to it? If you mean that, We just crimped it off and I never got a check engine light from it
@@Black91RSCamaro left the air pump on. Didnt do anything other than crimp the metal line, and wasn't even crimped shut tight, just kinda smushed it flat lol
if anyone sees im reaching out for some advice, i found a 1991 camaro with a 305 it needs some work heres the list does need - a new driver floor pan - headliner - driver side head gasket - doesn’t have ac or heat, needs heater core hoses/tubes -doesn't have cats and needs some interior work engine has 98K miles they're asking 4k for it but im not sure if its worth it or if i should just keep looking
Hey beardedreviews, I wanted to know if you know a website where they sell a dash shell since I can’t find nothing at all and mine is all cracked and making me not want to restore my 3rd gen anymore 😂
I love an LS motor, but I don't need more power, and they are not as reliable as an SBC. Yes they are lighter and better fuel economy and stuff, but that does nothing for me

I bought a 9 bolt rear diff out of an Iroc off of FB marketplace
I've owned GEN4 LS1 cars, but never a GEN3. The GEN3's are lookers. IMO someone should do to a GEN3 Fcar what they've been doing to Foxbodies for decades. The same way people have been LS swapping Foxbodys, someone should GEN3 Coyote swap a GEN3 Fbody. With the GEN3's strut setup you could probable squeeze a Coyote in there, and while Coyotes are pretty tall and wide compared to LS, they're noticably shorter with they're much smaller bore spacing. A high spinning full bolton 5L in the low to mid 500 WHP range without the need for an aggressive cam setup would be very fun in a Fbody.
did that bumper thing like under the headlights and LED blinkers come stock because it looks nice but i don't see them on any other 3rd gens.
yea they are super unique!
Where did you get your black interior plastics from?
I got them from a friend I believe. You could also paint yours with SEM paint
You missing a lug nut on the right rear?
probably. This was right before I switched back to stock 16s
Currently doing a 350 tbi t56 swap on my 92rs can i get some info on the size of the fuel line fittings to the TBI thank u great video 👍
Glad it was useful for you man!! PTFE fuel line will make it future proof and super durable :)
@@beardedreviews thanks do you remember the size of the fittings?
@@cesarzuniga209 Not exactly sure, but I think I linked the exact fitting in the description of the 6an video
When you deleted your cat, what did you do with your AIR injection system and pump? Do you get a check engine light now?
are you talking about the supplementary little metal line that goes down to it? If you mean that, We just crimped it off and I never got a check engine light from it
@@beardedreviews , did you leave AIR pump on or did you replace it with a delete pulley?
@@Black91RSCamaro left the air pump on. Didnt do anything other than crimp the metal line, and wasn't even crimped shut tight, just kinda smushed it flat lol
OK I'm subscribing

I have a 1991 Camaro. Rs. That will be using some of your ideas.
how tall are your ceilings I'm trying to get a lift I don't know if will work
10 foot ceilings in that garage. Advantage car lift
Hey beardedreviews, I wanted to know if you know a website where they sell a dash shell since I can’t find nothing at all and mine is all cracked and making me not want to restore my 3rd gen anymore 😂

Haven't finished the vid yet....but is your car lowered?
You'll never know unless you finish the video. I mean maybe I put a lift kit on it? It's a mystery :)
@@beardedreviews show us that addidas tattoo mystery man.
@@RonSavage01 lol well I got 2 of them
@@beardedreviews how do you know the torque for the hinges on the back glass? I need to do mine and was sweating watching you ...
@@RonSavage01 hawks publishes it on their website. I believe it is 10-12 ft-lb, but make sure you double check
late 60s is the best but 3rd gen is great too
You got that one backwards :)
For a second I thought I clicked on a Doug demuro video on accident😭
You gotta put an LS3 in it: 1) It’s lighter, 2) Better fuel economy, 3) More power, 4) More reliable and 5) Lower emissions
I get the point, but that changes the vehicle in a core way. Some people just want to keep that era of engine because it just feels better.
I love an LS motor, but I don't need more power, and they are not as reliable as an SBC. Yes they are lighter and better fuel economy and stuff, but that does nothing for me
@@oceanman207 exactly! Somebody gets it :)
And a lot more expensive!
@@michaelm3381 lol exactly!!!
Man I bought all new weather strips and window seals and y shit leaks more now than the old 1s that leaked too
Do ya own a Vacumn Scuba ? lol JK looks amazing Brutha
Lol I probably should have washed it and cleaned it out for this video, but I didn't wanna come off as a try-hard lol
Man i love ur camaro
U want to sell it?
Sorry, it's not for sale, it's my favorite car :( Thankyou so much for the compliment though
@beardedreviews 👍
Lmfao you got me with the intro

Keep the wheels get toyo tires or Michelin.
The 305 tbi L03 is such a sad motor for those cars. Great chassis though.
Reliable though. And it's plenty of power for me
They are like c4 corvettes kinda
LOL Taht was funny Thissss I get it ahaha
Hawks? No thanks. $$$

We found the mole!!!
