Nice that they changed the look from that "catfish" design. I've always liked the Sonata but, I end up going with KIA as their ride and handling feel more European and sporty. Had 3 KIA Optima hybrids and the weak point has always been the tires, swap those out for a better driving experience. The Sport mode on the 2017 was really fun, spun the factory tires if you're a little heavy on the throttle, had to ditch them for some UHP AS tires, then later lowered it, was a really great performer. I call it my Sport Hybrid. These days they make hybrids that can provide long range and sporty driving, I like that.
@@andyhernandez4019 do you still like your car now? I am strongly considering the purchase, but want to hear if people have buyers remorse after a few months.
I love my 2021 limited hybrid and love even more this new design, I don’t like they removed the solar panel roof but I understand didn’t provide much charge although it was a cool gimmick, maybe I prefer the solar panel because I have an Acura SUV with a pano roof and barely use it, however overall is a nice update to an already nice car.
Smaller engine, 20% less hp, only a 6 speed, no RWD and not a really proven hybrid system. I’m preferring the 2025 Camry. I do like the light interior color, most of the styling….. I would like to know more about how this hybrid system works. I had a 2011 Kia Hybrid and got some very rough shifts once in awhile.
H/K fixed that issue on the second gen Sonata/Optima. I managed to rent one at the Houston airport years back. The powertrain in this Sonata is dated back to the first gen hybrid, so all the kinks have been ironed out.
Great looking car ,the gear select in our Konas is the same , you get use too it quickly, and you don't have to look at the selector, it's viewable straight ahead on the display. Nice detail review Sam 👍
Hyundai and Kia need to settle on a.design language unique to their respective brand. They totally redesign the body shells each generation without any ties to the previous generations, as if they're trying to escape their past mistakes. This, along with well know reliability issues with some of their engines and transmission have kept the brands from the same level of trust and acceptance as Toyota and Honda. Interestingly enough, their competitive advantage in pricing have forced both Japanese brands to cut corners in recent years and that have shown in increasing quality problems among the Japanese brands.
We just purchased this car & we are loving it!

One correction, the paddle shifters do not change gears on the hybrid. They change the recharge amount. They do change gears in the N line though.
They change the brake regen and in sport mode it will change gears
I just got mine ,it's really nice and neat ,and the features ❤

New sub and and I am a fan of cars for years.
A hatchback plus PHEV will make this car so perfect…but pretty good overall with the sexy, non catfish look!
Just out of curiosity: Which cars in the class are more comfortable; i.e. which ones have softer suspension?
2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited vs camry 2025 xse which one will you pick?

I'm getting a mini Toyota crown vibe from the front end

Love driving my sonata through Papago 😅
Did your vehicle have the Homelink rear view mirror?
For some reason, Hyundai deleted Homelink on this. The dealer told me they could install one. Weird

this or n-line???
apples and oranges
Toyota should be embarrassed! This looks so much better than the camary and less expensive!
HUD in this model ??
Yes
And 360 cam with blind spot camera
It should have it my 2021 limited hybrid has it.
@@Avatar1946 yeah, I'm not sure why it was never mentioned, or why the sunroof wasn't opened
Good review. I'm going with the '25 Camry XSE
I'm going with this car the Camry xse😊 interior is horrendous it looks like 1980.. same with the rear end
I drove all 3 of the them. The Camry SE + + was the best fit at the right price for me.
I thought the pre refreshed interior was better
Uni-brow front lightbar is disturbing 😮
It’s beautiful to me, reminds me of Robobcop
Cap you know panoramic roof is completely useless
The Hyundai uni-brow front is not attractive IMO. Camry hybrid for me, please...
big gross fingerprints right on the screen, easy to tell what you've been pressing, timestamp 7:00
Yes, left to illustrate the point ;)
Travel with a microfiber towel, wipe the surface down and poof-fingerprints gone
@@pete84101 and do this thousands of times over the lifespan of the car, instead of just building it with a matte surface, great idea.

This is ugly and lazy design
It’s just ugly.
