2025 Toyota Camry XSE vs Hyundai Sonata Limited |Which Hybrid Sedan Is Better For Under $40,000?

- 👋 Let's take a look at the all new 2025 Toyota Camry alongside the new Hyundai Sonata! This is the 2025 Toyota Camry XSE and the Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid. Both cars get around 50 MPG and come in at similar price points just under $40,000. The Camry has more horsepower and torque so it drives a bit quicker and can accelerate more. However the Hyundai Sonata Limited is very feature packed with vented seats, 360 camera system, heads up display, rear seat shades and more! The new 2025 Camry has more of a sporty ride while the Sonata has more of a luxury ride. So they really have a lot going for them. If you want a bit extra power and a more sporty design, the Camry might be better for you. But if you want a lot more features and a more plush ride, the Sonata might work better. Definitely a toss up and I think long term reliability and resale will be the true deciding factor to know which car is better to own.

I traded my 2020 Sonata Limited for a 2025 Camry XSE a month ago. The Camry is quieter, gives a smoother ride and handles better than my Sonata did. Very happy with the trade.
Oh nice! Check out the new Sonata tho. Big upgrade from the previous generation
Cross shopped the Accord, Camry and Sonata.
Things that made a difference:
Gas hood struts versus a hood prop.
Power Trunk where the hinges are enclosed.
6-Speed automatic instead of a CVT.
Dashboard and controls are more streamlined and less obtrusive than many new vehicles.
Moving the gear selector to the steering wheel and cleaning up the busyness that you find on many center consoles is nice.
The driver assistance technology. Lane Keep Assist is the best I have experienced so far.
IMHO, the redesign is a big improvement over the old Sonata with its "catfish" front end styling.
The Sonata also has a lower drag coefficient.
As you stated, the ride does feel Mercedes-like.
Reliability was a concern for me, but I am hoping that because this is a refresh rather than a redesign, that the drivetrain has been vetted and refined by now. Time will tell.
Yeah all good points for sure!
Great video, well done!
Thank you very much!
Living in an area that benefits from AWD, having it available as a hybrid on the Camry is a big plus. Otherwise these two are pretty comparable and I'd be interested in seeing how the actual real world MPG shakes out for both of them. Nice job!
Yeah I like the AWD option! I was getting close to 45 MPG in the Hyundai all week. So I'd assume the Camry can match that
Always go with Toyota. Both are good looking cars though
Gotta will probably outlast the Sonata. But Hyundai really packs their cars with features!
If the Sonata had an updated engine it would easily win this comparison. But since it doesn't, you would have to narrow it down to whether the reliability + drivability of the camry matters more, or the looks and tech of the Sonata.
Yeah that's about what I concluded with these
People always saying Toyota over any cars. Have you ever consider other cars? Many people reported that some of the Camry give problems although a Toyota usually beat an Hyundai but companies do better each year.
Yeah Toyota is still very well ranked at the top. However it does seem they are getting a bit sloppy lately with some issues
the comparison ive been waiting for
Which one would you buy?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I want to drive and feel like this 10:14
@@mynameisjeff5225 Yeah the Hyundai has a very good ride!
wow. i am curious on this comparison
Cool cars to compare!
Nothing beats Toyota's hybrid system.
yeah, actually engine reliability issues, lol a lot of owners of the new camry have already reported it has issues.
@@diegochavez49erslike what?
I’m here for a good time. Not a long time.
Yeah they have a lot of experience with hybrids!
@@diegochavez49ers What issues?
Toyota for reliability.
Yeah I’m sure very long term the Camry will outlast the Sonata
Both are reliable as long as you keep up with the maintenance
Toyota reliability is not like you think, they having a lot issues
@@kennethsmith6899 😂
KIA for not falsifying safety data
Was wondering I hear people complain about how it feels driving and how it sounds inside saying it’s loud inside as you hear everything.
Which car? I talk about ride quality while driving both
No way you’re talking about the 2025 Camry… that car is almost Lexus quiet
You do realize you can get heated and ventilated seats and heads up display and around car camera and Birdseye view with the Camry XSE correct?
Yeah I think the first XSE I filmed a month or so ago had all that.
Does the Hyundai still have a 100k mi warranty?
Yupe
yup!
hyundai warranty is joke.
@@tocreatee5736 really? I’ve heard a lot of people say Hyundai honors the warranty pretty well
Sonata for the Styles and Features
The boring Camry for reliability
lol I can see that. But the Camry has more power tho and a more sporty ride
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I wouldn’t buy a Camry for power/sporty ride, I would rather get a properly tuned Toyota or Honda with reliability
Sonata because it has tech features I need and as for reliability, I’ll take chances in this
The extra features are very nice! I’m sure 100k miles should be worry free
@@BrosFOURRSpeedbesides, I’m sure I’ll eventually get tired after 100k miles anyway. Besides, there are people who say their Hyundais have lasted longer than that.nits just that I wanna get luxury for moneys worth. With Camry, you’re struggling with whether u get 360 cam, HUD or not
@@blackgold754 definitely good points. I haven’t had a car past even 50k miles aside from my first car lol. So I’m sure tons of buyers would trade in for something new every 5 years or so and never even hit 100k. The Sonata definitely gives you a lot for the money.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed what cars in your experience would you say haven’t crossed past 50k miles?
@@blackgold754 Cars that’s I’ve owned. I’ve just never owned a car past 50k since I sell my cars and move on to something else quite frequently. I seem to trade my cars out every year since it’s part of my business
Easy, just split the two in half and weld together to form a CamNata.
haha that'd be fun
I've been driving Hyundai's in Canada since 2003. Six of them. Four are still in my driveway.
2011 Sonata 2.0T with 155 000kms
2018 Elantra Sport 6spd manual with 95 000kms
2022 Sonata N-Line with 20 000kms
And a .........
2023 Elantra N 6spd manual with 25 000 kms.
R.I.P. to my
2003 Elantra 5spd and
2006 Elantra Hatch 4 spd auto..
Cool, glad you enjoy them.
It’s shocking how they all just copy each other. The protruding hood with slim headlights and grill, the huge lower air vents, the angular trim around the fog lights, the emblem on the hood, swoopy side windows.
Yeah lots of high volume cars end up lookin very similar these days
That sonata is loaded compared to the Camry
Yeah lots of features!
I'm not happy with the interior of the Toyota, but who buys a car for its looks, lol.
In person it's pretty nice. But the Hyundai is more feature packed for sure
I will choose toyota toyota hybrid system still best
Yeah it's very proven for sure
I think a comparison of the XSE with the Sonata N line would be more interesting
dude the hybrid limited offers more than the XSE , N line sonata will just own the XSE camry lmfaooooo
This is what I had to work with
Never buy hyundai
I go with the Sonata it's because the style is more sporty looking one ☝🏼😉
Pretty cool style for sure!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Camry is bigger 2:42
The Camry interior already look outdated 😮😮
True, but it’s not bad for Toyota. The Sonata is certainly better though. And how can you trust a company that falsifies safety data? Makes you wonder what else they are sacrificing.
@@Ricky-mo6mv I have own both sonata and Camry, never had issues with none, I drove my sonata for 9 years .my son driving it right now for his first car and I still moving.
@@kromahj Yeah, they are both very nice!
Seems nice in person tho. Not fancy, but nice
Someone may need to be let go. Haha.
Both 2025 Camry Hybrid and Sonata are crappy vehicles. Get a Mazda CX-5 or CX-50. The 11th Gen Honda Accord is a bad choice and has died in the last 2 years also it is worse than the 2025 Camry Hybrid.
