Hello. I've just popped in to say that I've had my Mazda cx60 for nearly two weeks. I opted for the Homura, all the packages PHEV in the deep blue. I LOVE it. I do plug it in every night to domestic AC 3-pin (external, Plug in vehicle compliant) and have achieved 200 mpg and 39 miles on a full battery. My last car was a Volvo XC60 R design diesel - so similar in size. Things I've noticed: the 20 inch tyres are more forgiving than I had expected given the various reviews of the car. Mine has had all the recall items fitted/adjusted and I find the ride firm without the 'fidget' described. Road noise is more than acceptable compared to my Volvo and it corners as if on rails - again, compared to my AWD Volvo on 19" wheels - which inspires confidence and minimises body roll. I'm still 'learning' the car and am enjoying it immensely. I looked at other PHEVs as Matt suggested: The French equivalent was more expensive and its style will date easily. The Germans - well, £15k more for similar size but much lower spec. The Honda CRV was similar as was the Toyota RAV - but I just didn't like their 'loud' interiors. The Mazda oozes quality and has quiet interior styling. Perfect

And also how is the "weight" feeling compared to Volvo? I really like how heavy Volvo XC60 feels (and is) and it just goes over bumps like a tank without you feeling much. Do you have the same feeling of heavy, solid and stable car in the CX60? Because CX5 definitely doesn't feel that way.

@@vivek5562seats are slightly better on the volvo, but in my opinion the mazda is a better car. We have had ours for a year and 5000 miles without a single problem, whereas my uncle who has a volvo xc60 has had several issues with his car. I recommend that you test drive them both and see how you like them, keeping in mind that the mazda is £10000 cheaper with the same equipment.

They all had different engines, but what's the same is that they have outstanding reliability without sacrificing the performance aspects. Been running one of these CX- 60 PHEVS for the last 3 months and have nicknamed it "The Bungalow" as it is a big SUV. Bad points, very firm suspension, never really feels planted, particularly on motorways, so not overly relaxing to drive and the combined fuel economy (I charge it regularly) has never bettered 39mpg and it has safety features that annoy, two in particular, for no real reason it will sound a warning and flash on the screen "Distracted Driver Detected" which means if you weren't you certainly are now and when driving on a road that has parked cars on both sides and you reach a slight bend it sounds an even louder warning and a big "Brake" appears on your screen as it believes a collision is imminent, this has the ability to scare the bejesus out of you and any passengers on board.
Good points, lots of space, great standard spec (although I agree that ACC should be part of that) great driving position and with a fully charged battery, Sports mode will see you surprise more than a few drivers on how it can move, particularly the mid range acceleration which is somewhat brisk to say the least.
Overall a good value for money SUV which can be seen as a credible alternative to the likes of BMW and Audi.

      @steveshaw6560 Рік тому

@@pawkaster Nothing on the 12v battery warning but plenty elsewhere. For clarity I am running this as a company car so the issues have had minimal impact on me personally but could on a private buyer. The initial CX60 went back to a Mazda dealership as the steering was faulty, which I believe is a known fault with a particular batch of cars, which involves a complete replacement steering rack that has to come from Japan and can be anything up to 3 months to arrive (after my first had been in the garage for 5 weeks I rung and they simply could not tell me when it was likely to arrive and the repair completed)
Spoke with the lease company and they sent me a replacement, which promptly broke down on the way to my house with a complete electrical failure and the dashboard doing a good impression on the Blackpool illuminations. Back to the lease company, another one was to be sent, this one had an issue with the bonnet not being able to close properly, back again to the lease company and I am now on my 4th CX60 which, in the 6 days and 450 miles driven is seemingly holding together although for how long who knows??
One thing I will say is that, through all of this, Mazda have been really "on point" with their customer service and this is the main reason I have stayed with the brand and model despite being offered a variety of different cars via the leasing company.

But it seemed to be from the transmission. They tried to fix it (prop shaft replacement) but failed, then no-one seemed to know what to do. Not just my car - they had some others with the same issue and people on forums were reporting the issue - some dating back to December 2022 and still no fix. Only on the PHEV. @@jdmguy44 Soo.. why do you think I bought the CX-60 PHEV? I had expectations of using it as a retirement vehicle. Sadly that did not work out. When something (that the dealership and Mazda network) could not resolve after a couple of attempts in my car - and others - I lost confidence in tis vehicle being a long term proposition. The issue appeared to be that 'something' in the drive train (apparently) seemed to be 'wrong', assembly issue, misaligned parts, out of balance shafts, no-one seems to know... then you have to wonder if the vibrations underlying the 'thrumming' will leave the owner with a series of transmission related issues down the line. after warranty has expired etc. It's a new and very cool drive train (one of the reasons I bought it - I liked the concept) but it does have an ICE with clutch in line with the EV motor and another clutch and the 8 speed gearbox. Great idea (you always have 4 wheel drive irrespective of EV / ICE / Hybrid drive) but it seems that if it has not been assembled well or there is a duff part then you have issues.

It’s slight bigger compared to CX5 … the cX 90 is the larger one… ( like cX 9) the same 2.5 used in cX 5, cx8, cX 9 … performance is good and fuel economy depends on driving style

It's like an interim proposition from main stream to luxury. Given the price point, why spend the extra cash for just a little bit more. Also the interior looks absolutely well built and well thought off as to be in the luxury segment.

Test drove one of these and was very impressed. In the end I stuck with BMW simply because of the seats. Ergonomically the seats aren't as deep as in European cars and I like support to my entire thigh to the back of the knee. The Mazda's were too short and left my legs with an unsupported dangling feeling. Other than that I loved the Mazda but my driving comfort was paramount. However, I'm sure it will suit many people.

Holy crap you're right!! that's not good for Carwow integrity!
I review wrist watches on my channel and had a brand threaten to sue me if I didn't remove a review of one of their watches as they were not satisfied with what I had to say.
I simply pointed them to our first email Exchange where I said I have only one condition: I get to say whatever I want to say: The Good The Bad and everything in between, to which they agreed!
After that they stopped threatening me and I never removed the video as I felt it would have made me a sell-out

I have one of these, except for the suspension dumping, which can be improved with an specific KONI dumpers and eibach springs the rest of the car works pretty well.
In fact, if you put in off road mode the car will 0-60mph in 5,2sec!!!!

The rear suspension now has an upgrade available, 2022 cars have rear shocks with a D at the end of the part number, 2023 up to Q4 have an E at the end (which I had). 2023 Q4 onwards had shocks with an F at the end which I now have, much much better. Speak to your dealer to get the new parts installed

I test-drove the diesel version of this car yesterday. The power, interior design, and exterior appearance are impressive. It felt great driving on flat roads. However, the road noise was quite loud when driving over coarse chip at speed. It's not a quiet highway cruiser; instead, it's loud and boomy. The suspension feels cheap and doesn't effectively absorb bumps or road imperfections. Additionally, there was a small rattle in the dashboard. Overall, I would not recommend this car yet, but I'd like to one day, after Mazda do the engineering properly, and address the asking price.

I thought Mazda has done away with turbos and only went naturally aspirated. But anyways, great practical SUV with a sporty touch. It's a huge step forward from the CX-5. I would only go for the diesel though for the torquey punch. Petrols seem too feeble for this size of a car but I may change my mind if I drive one.

This is the similar situation with the pre-facelift Audi Q8, in which you have two obviously fake exhaust tips with the real ones pointing downwards. Since receiving a facelift on September 5th however, this is no longer a case.
