As a testdriver at Volvo, the google maps in the infotainment is GOLDEN. They removed some nice and useful things from the former infotainment system (like being able to swipe to the sides to get to the lighter settings) but overall this new android based one is better, not as good as Polestar 2 maybe but it is up there. Not a fan of you having to enter the settings to switch between charging and hold mode if you have a hybrid (the little wheel to change the modes doesnt work on our testcars so I dont know exactly what you can change with it now).

On working days I drive my xc90 b5 diesel 125 kms. A mix of motorways, country roads and town driving. My average is 5.5 litres per 100kms ! This is 51 miles to an imperial gallon.
I've noticed that car reviewers hardly ever talk about the stereos. When they do it's almost always the briefest mention possible too. It's strange. I guess since UA-cam is so aggressive about copyright strikes or whatever it makes sense basically no one lets us hear anything, but to avoid talking about it entirely? And yeah I definitely pay attention to stereos when I'm shopping. It's one of the top considerations. Some people plan to take the car to an aftermarket place immediately anyway but that's not always an option.
My parents have that car (MY2022), and the long term average fuel consumption is 73,5 mpg or 3,2 l/100km. At wintertime, you can expect about 30 miles or 40-50km of electric range, and at summertime you can pretty easily reach 50 miles or 80km of pure electric range.
Hello! Thank you for the great review. I just wanted to mention that you didn't use launch control during your test of the 0-60 acceleration time. As a result, you weren't able to achieve the claimed time. I recommend trying out Volvo's launch control feature in your next test as it performs quite well. Best regards.
I had a fully loaded T5 Inscription Pro from new back in 2018 and absolutely loved it. It was a genuinely nice place to be on long or short journeys. I swapped it out for a Tesla MYLR back in March and honestly, I miss nothing about the Volvo, except maybe the massage seats 😃. It was a great car, was superbly well built but it now feels like a dinosaur by comparison.
Agree re:dials, but i find it easier to change the A/C temp by voice control. You can turn the seat warmer/steering wheel warmer with the same. Dial screen looks better when u click google maps on it so u can use the infotainment screen while getting directions. Dunno about the uk but in aus the car has its own sim card and runs on android operating system, so i havent needed to use android auto via the phone Phone just connects via bluetooth so u can use the phone wirelessly.
We bought a new Volvo XC60 last year in September. So far, I have been in the service center 4 times because of various problems, the most dangerous of which was that the car stopped on the highway at a speed of 130 km/h. My wife and I have been thinking about a Volvo for a long time, having previously owned an AudiQ5 and a BMW X3, and I have to admit that in the end I was disappointed with the Volvo.
I had several Volvo's in the past and they were great value for a fairly premium feel car, but then they just got silly expensive and now largely punching above their weight.
It's good of you MR Matt Watson to point out the front bonnet how high it is and how who ever but it is going to have to put some effort into closing it and also the speed too over all you did a very good review of this vehicle so keep giving it in that way fair and true 👍👍
Couldn't help but notice your follow (lead) car, Citroën, is my favourite. I own one. Could be slightly biased there. Yup. And I've been renting a V90 T6 Recharge for 2 months. It is too da-m expensive to run. And unless you have charging possibilities, you will only drive using liquid power. But boy, oh boy, is it a joy to drive. If you have the money, get it.
Is there by any chance you could do a mid-size luxury SUV comparison with this, an Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, Porsche Macan and a Tesla Model Y just to create an overall context? Thank you.
A comparison video is coming up check the time stamp 8:00 where you can see the Q5, X3 and GLC parked together while Mat is showing the boot space of them individually…
We owned a 2020 XC60 R-Design, and have just taken delivery of our 2023 B6 Ultimate. Both cars had the maximum configuration. I have to say, I'm not particularly impressed with this iteration. Sure the wireless Android Auto is cool. The trade-offs are however: a less sporty feel (yes, I know, it's a comfort SUV), no self-parking (this was such a nice feature for tight spots downtown), speed limiter at 180 kph (I've gotten, sorry *heard*, our 2020 could get up to 220 with relative ease), the driving mode switching is unnecessarily complicated. It's disappointing to see such changes. Maybe the speed limiter is a Canada only thing.
I’m on to my third XC60 in its current incarnation. Have to say the change to Android/Google is a disappointing backward step compared to the old Volvo system. It might improve with future updates but so far mine has been back to the dealership twice since it was purchased in January. The first over air update completely crashed the car which had to be dragged on to a low loader. Generally the IT is more laggy than the old system and routinely fails to recognise my mobile. Final grouch, for a £50k car why does it only offer wired Apple Car Play??
bitter truth, but its sad to see that you can clearly tell volvo is starting to look more like its chinese counterparts thanks to a chinese company owning volvo itself
Was watching all of the reviews on newer XC60s because I wanted to get one, got an old T6 at last, you just cant match an inline 6 with a 4cyl, still a great car, but yeah, wish they would still give the option. Guess I will have to keep the xc60 for as long as possible because I really like it, only options I see are the macan/cayyene with their V6 and V8 options, maybe the X3 M40i but then they are just not as reliable as a good old volvo 6cyl

Serious dosh currently but there's not a lot of competition for those who don't like merc and bmw.
This was the best SUV of the 2010s in terms of design and value as far as I'm concerned. It really revived Volvo as a brand.
I have an xc60 which I really like, my only worry is that when they unveil the ev xc60 it’ll likely be almost double the price
The parcel shelf fits under the boot floor dude!
I like the review and the car! I actually own a V60 myself - just one minor complaint - at 8:16 you can actually see the two buttons you can use to fold down the rear seats. So you dont need to lean inside the car at all
Those are the buttons to raise or lower the suspension
@@mathiasvdk up and down buttons actually?
Oh, they are? In thar case nevermind. 😅
In my car those Buttons are for the seats.
I miss my XC60 had a 2017 model when then first did the new shape drove like a dream should never have got rid
One of the best SUV ever! I love everything about this Volvo XC60!
You are 100% a bot😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Mat that was a hell of a voice crack there😂 (13:11)
In terms of Power this Volvo is now in the same bracket as a Ferrari F40.
😯😲
On working days I drive my xc90 b5 diesel 125 kms. A mix of motorways, country roads and town driving. My average is 5.5 litres per 100kms ! This is 51 miles to an imperial gallon.
I had a windscreen washer built-in into windscreen wipers in my Peugeot 405 from 1991, nice job Volvo!
405 is another dream rally car that only appeared in VRally 2.
Still driving a 2009 XC60 D5, now with 320,000 Km on the clock. They are built to last.
The car has a brilliant Bowers & Wilkins stereo from what I've heard but how come Mat didn't even mention it?
I'd only have this car for that
Im surprised too that b&w system is next level
I've noticed that car reviewers hardly ever talk about the stereos. When they do it's almost always the briefest mention possible too. It's strange. I guess since UA-cam is so aggressive about copyright strikes or whatever it makes sense basically no one lets us hear anything, but to avoid talking about it entirely?
And yeah I definitely pay attention to stereos when I'm shopping. It's one of the top considerations. Some people plan to take the car to an aftermarket place immediately anyway but that's not always an option.
$5000 extra
@@hassanger8128 not really around 3k to the harman/kardon. In BMWs it costs 7 grand
The 2020 XC60 is way more practical than the later versions and the display is alot better you should do a reveiw on that👍 And it has launch control
2022 VOLVO XC60 apparently not quite cool but its 7.5/10 for me.
I wonder what its gonna be in 5-6 years. I hope those cars aint gonna be a throwaway in several years. Not really eco.
I am not really fan of Volvo but I think it is one of the best cars at this size and price. Thanks for reviewing this car. ❤❤💙💙🚙🚙
Always love a Volvo!
So do the Chinese
@@Kronos0999 So do Hyundai and Proto Motors.

15:47 I wasn’t expecting that van in the left… 😳 such a cool car
18:29 another XC60?
yes another one 👍
Hello! Thank you for the great review. I just wanted to mention that you didn't use launch control during your test of the 0-60 acceleration time. As a result, you weren't able to achieve the claimed time. I recommend trying out Volvo's launch control feature in your next test as it performs quite well. Best regards.
This is actually one of the safest SUVs and it is also one of the strongest ones in the market 😄
Not this case. Model Y is the safest SUYs right now.
@@EverydayCats1994 yep. Along with X1.
I had the 2018 version, always happy with it. But i dont see what is new with it except the infotainment and speed limitation.
I did the opposite. Sold back the Tesla because i hated the interior and bought myself the 2022 xc90. Haven't looked back since.
Cheap luxury isn't what Volvo would like you to put in the thumbnail 😭
Yep. Seems like Carwow loved to change those thumbnails.
I am looking at these for my next car
Can you do a PHEV group test with the new F-Pace, this XC60, maybe a Velar P400e and the germans?
Or even XR-PHEV?
We bought a new Volvo XC60 last year in September. So far, I have been in the service center 4 times because of various problems, the most dangerous of which was that the car stopped on the highway at a speed of 130 km/h.
My wife and I have been thinking about a Volvo for a long time, having previously owned an AudiQ5 and a BMW X3, and I have to admit that in the end I was disappointed with the Volvo.
Boot capacity is not reduced by batteries, but electric rear motor under floor. Batteries are on central tunnel between front seats.

I can't wait for a review of Lamborghini Revuelto
Can you review the Mazda cx-60?
it has the price of volvo xc60. better taking volvo.
Thank you.
And Stelvio
A comparison video is coming up check the time stamp 8:00 where you can see the Q5, X3 and GLC parked together while Mat is showing the boot space of them individually…
Parcel cover storage is under the load floor on the right. Front to back, slotted.
My XC60 will be delivered feb24. Speed limiter 180km/h as well here in Belgium, and not in Belgium only but all over Europe I guess.
13:08 Did any body else here Mat's voice crack or is it just me.
NEVER be afraid to use terrible puns..!
On older models there was a driving mode selector in center console. Strange to remove that
I’m on to my third XC60 in its current incarnation.
I also think Sensus Infotainment system was better overall.
This was the first and probably the last time we heard Matt saying a glovebox is massive
Can we all take a moment to appreciate just how terrible the crease looks on Mat's phone?
Yep. Its funny but terrible crease to say the least.
Had my 2012 xc60 6 years best car ever
Has to be one of the most dated cars on the market
One of the dumbest comments on this video
XC60 VOLVO apparently a solid choiced car. 7.4/10.
Same old dull crap exterior design.
Too conservative for these modern days.
there are flies everywhere , you gotta change the filming spot
bitter truth, but its sad to see that you can clearly tell volvo is starting to look more like its chinese counterparts thanks to a chinese company owning volvo itself
Except that the appearance of the XC60 hasn't changed for years, so you'd need to be hallucinating.
10:25 there is a button taht reads "driving mode" next the the volume button underneath the screen
I have a v60 T6 hybrid and its a rocket. My wife has a xc90 D5 and I love that design even more + 7 seats
My wife's 2019 B4 has a configurable individual drive mode, accessed via the rotary dial by the gear stick
My 2018 xc90 has the rotary dial as well, it was removed for cost saving due to car shortages.
@@bianzidan I heard that it wasn't compatible with the Google os! Nonetheless was a brilliant shortcut that was safe to use whilst on the move. We use the individual mode to disable the start/stop system.

Gonna get one by end of year, Diesel ICE. No PHEV (i have one now, it just doesnt add up if you drive roughly 600-800km a week).. Looking very much forward to it.
