- Mount Rushmore National Memorial is located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Gutzon Borglum along with his son carved the 60 foot heads of some of our most famous U.S. Presidents (Washington, Jefferson. T. Roosevelt and Lincoln). We visited the site both in the day and evening. In this video we also show our dinner and hike to the base of the Memorial.

I really loved the evening ceremony. Watching all the veterans go on stage brought tears to my eyes!
Thanks for watching and sharing your support! Appreciate it! Yes, we are blessed to live in the best country thanks to the brave who fought for our liberties.
Being from SD, I have seen this 3-4 times......I had the honor to sing the National Anthem with the SD Honors Choir back in 1988 at the start of the program for the lighting ceremony........love the Black Hills!!!
You have some great stories to tell! And what an honor that is! Enjoyed seeing how patriotic the presentation was. Having visiting many of the Parks in the US, the Black Hills is still among my favorite areas!
Randy, it was 1976 when I visited Mt. Rushmore . . . don't remember the parking garage then, it was just a parking lot. I think that garage and new visitor center was built in 1990's. I am glad I was able to visit the he original Visitor Center with the Buffalo Dining Room and Gift Shop that was featured in the Hitchcock movie "North By Northwest" and now the facility is much expanded to allow many more to visit in a single day. Your video tour is great, and the evening show looks inviting, THANKS FOR SHARING! . . . Mike
Appreciate that, Mike!
Was just there sept 18,2022. Loved it. Just very interesting. Went to crazy horse memorial also.
Wonderful to hear! You caught one of my older videos - great memories there as well!
Seriously so cool. We would love to see mount Rushmore. Would have never expected that kind of business.
The Black Hills are great. Definitely recommend a trip with the family to that area if you've yet to be there! Thanks!
Great timing! One of my kids came from school yesterday and said, Did you know there is a mountain with people's faces in it? 😆 We would love to go see Mount Rushmore.
Awesome! Definitely one of those places everyone needs to experience!
pro tip: watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Connor Royce yup, have been watching on Flixzone} for years myself :)
The furthest west I've been in the states was to Mount Rushmore. I would love to go back and explore more of it. I was only there for a couple hours.Such an amazing place. That pulled pork looked so delicious. Another good one Randy!
Thanks, Josh! Look forward to checking out some vids from your recent Mexico trip! Also - agree with your other comment about disengaging. It's a fun hobby, but UA-cam can easily pull us away from the things that are more profitable in life (people, working, exercising, reading, etc.). Glad I'm now caught up on editing our summer trips - plan to significantly limit my involvement.
We’ve seen Mount Rushmore, but now we have to go back for pulled pork and the nighttime show! 😀 Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely! There sure is something special about the Black Hill area! Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas!
Looks like a fun adventure guys! We definitely have that on our list to do :)
It's one of those place everybody need to see. Something really special about the Black Hills of SD! Thanks for watching!
Nice, two video uploads. Looked great at night!
Thanks, still trying to catch up from some aggressive summer traveling!
Nice job! Loved it. I was there on July 20,2017. Like you, I was a little surprised at having to pay for parking. It was the only place that we paid at on a 9 day trip, except for Pike's Peak. It is a special place, love that area. Look forward to going back!
I hear you! Been to the Black Hills three times now. There is something really special about that area! Thanks for watching and sharing your kind words.
Very Beautiful Video Sir. Thank You so much. Take Care. Bye.
It's a special place! Have a great evening!
@@AmericasParks Thank You Sir for the reply.
Dad is hilarious after eating, he reminded me of a baby after drinking a full warm bottle of milk, how they get sleepy....lol Great video.
Thanks again!
Wow! Loved this video! We also enjoyed our visit back in 2013.Cool! We also stopped and ate in Keystone and I remember a restaurant we dined at that we loved and had the best all you can eat salad bar! Is that my brochure your daughter is holding? Thanks again for sending me that! God bless America!
Oh that's funny - it was your brochure! She did a good job keeping it free from the BBQ sauce!
By the way,,Just noticed that you passed 40,000 views a while back. Congrats!
Thanks! It's humbling! Have a blessed Christmas, my friend! Luke 2:8-11
Americas Parks And also Luke 2:13, 14.....The Heavenly Father THE ALMIGHTY GOD OF US ALL IS MAGNIFICENT IN ALL THAT HE DOES, DID AND WILL DO💖 Thank you for the reminder of GODS GLORY IN JESUS CHRIST... This Country, it's Countryman and it's Landscapes.... PEACE AND ALWAYS LOVE EACH OTHER SPIRITUALLY💖
God bless you! Really encouraged by your heart for the Lord!
Boy it's changed a lot since the early 80's.
Hey Phil, thanks for watching and commenting. Man, you have to love the Black Hills. Happy to hear you've been out there!

I went to SD, Wyoming & Montana every summer vacation with my parents growing up in the 80's. Amazing.
@@philspurling6414 Nice choice of locations! ...and might I add, the best decade too! :)
Hey that’s Avery Brooks voice narrating the evening show, who starred in: 1987’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Hawk from Spencer for Hire, and Capt. Benjamin Sisko from Star Trek DS9. He’s got quite the voice. He also did a History Channel series documentary called Ancient Evidence, which explored into biblical and historical evidence. That must have been quite the show for you and your daughter to come out of there feeling patriotic.
Neat to learn that, John! And yes it was quite a patriotic experience. Regarding so many changes, nice to know it is still promoted at times in our country.
Our boys are younger, but we try to have a "meet up" plan if we get separated. It's never happened, so we quit making a plan. Thanks for reminding me that it is important! We didn't make the evening show. This makes me sorry we did, but we now have a reason to go back!
Right on! Yeah, my kids are getting older and the separation thing hasn't been much of a concern, especially since we hike together and often take remote trails. This one caught us by surprise!

Thanks!
What cameras do you use to photograph? Also what vlogging camera do you use? I love your videos by the way.
Thank you! I have a Lumix G-9, but have been using my iPhone 14 more due to the convenience. If you look below any of my videos, you'll see a full list of my equipment. Take care!
@@AmericasParks Thank you for replying! We are going to Mount Rushmore this summer.
@@thetravelingtwos Enjoy! Here's a newer and better Rushmore video that might assist you (if you haven't already seen it): ua-cam.com/video/KDpWyDOMfWs/v-deo.html
Gutzom Borglum is in The Great Mausoleum.Tony
Thanks... wasn't aware of that!
Looks like a hi-tech show at night! Maybe that's part of the fees to park. Did your National Parks Pass help with the cost? Dealing with that crowd in the that small of an area, will not be something we are looking forward to. ;-) Thanks for taking us along on your adventure!
I hear you! Never a big fan of the large crowds. It's unfortunate that most of our best parks are just overrun with people. I'm grateful people want to see these amazing sites, but it really makes getting around tough. I'm learning where to go both in the park and location at the specific park to enjoy some space. ...and park pass didn't help - I always ask!
Sorry must not had fireworks over the president's at night. Sorry you missed it.
Yeah, was back again this year and no fireworks. That must be one spectacular sight!
Would you like some pulled pork with your ketchup
lol! :)
Anyone messes with this monument, you go to prison!
YES! Regardless of how people "feel" we need to respect our history and learn from it!
