The absolute best time to Ride thru the Black Hills is any time, besides during the Stugis Rally.. You will do nothing but worry about the 1,000,000 other riders.. I hope you enjoy your trip but I would consider coming early, 2 weeks, or come the Last day of the Rally and stay a week late.. Have fun..!..

Dogs are not permitted inside the Mt Rushmore gate but you can still get great pictures from the entrance area. I also always suggest going to Keystone. It’s a great tourist town , get an old time photo taken, buy some Black Hills gold jewelry. Ride the train. Bear country is close as well as reptile gardens. The Cosmos is very interesting for the kids. There are even places where you can ride horses . Enjoy this beautiful part of the state!

Great video, heading there on Sunday from FL. The book of Enoch explains Devil's Tower were really giant trees, it's petrified wood, there were 200 of them, you'd only have to notice it looks exactly like a giant stump and flat on top, and your eyes are not deceiving you, because it is✌️

TIPS 4 TOURISTS U NEED TO HEAR
-Don’t be jerks and try to touch get close to our animals, we don’t come to suburbia and climb over your fences and try to pet your dogs. STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE ON THE ROADS!
-Did you know that tipping housekeepers is actually really appreciated and traditional?? And do not assume you won’t see the staff, we go to the local restaurants/bars too. Be courteous!
-Be sure you check out your surroundings BEFORE you get there! Many places out here do not have 24 hour services. Fill up your gas tanks!
-While driving through the parks DO NOT STOP in the middle of the road!!! Many locals are trying to get to work or travel through to the interstate. And stay in your vehicle even if you see a animal! You have no idea how absolutely dangerous that is and what a jerk that makes you! Your pictures are not more important than safety!
-Be patient with staff and locals! Staff is very busy and since no one thinks they should work hard anymore we are going as fast as we can! STOP GETTING OUT AND HOLDING UP TRAFFIC!
-If you don’t know basic daily tasks then you need to stay home!
-Locals are generally very helpful and welcoming, but taking pictures of us without permission is really rude. We are not sideshow freaks!
-Remember, being rude to the locals is not a good idea and won’t be tolerated!

Wow! I grew up in South Dakota and enjoy visiting there when I can. While I agree with what you are saying about staying in your vehicle for safety, you could have said this in a much nicer tone. We native folk are kind to the people who visit we don’t need to yell at them before they even visit.

@@stacyfaris281 You sound very welcoming. I think I will move there from California and be sure to tell you all how we did things better back at home. Can’t wait to meet you!!! Any weed dispensaries in town, or drag queen shows for my husband and I to go see? We’re really into that sort of thing. How about charging stations for our Tesla? Thanks!
