money support by the town council. As for myself, I'm here watching your beautiful property flourishing and getting more and more beautiful. I'm Portuguese and I still live in Lisbon but When I see brave people like you that want to restore and make that house alive again, you have my support. Someone said why you were wasting your money in such an old house! Thank you for not thinking that way, there are buildings all over Portugal that need the local town councils to be listed and referred to the District councils that are precious and become an asset if they are restored for the whole region and even for the country. Europe is history and it's a shame that our politicians only care about Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve, if they care!!!??? I'm going to stop here because there's a lack of historical and cultural knowledge on preserving beautiful old constructions. In Lisbon they turned down beautiful and igood condition houses and buildings because of profit... the ones that are being restored is because some people have, I think, understood that they have an architectural, historial value.
Thank you so much. What lovely comments. We are really grateful that people like yourself appreciate what we are trying to do. Yes Lisbon does have some fantastic historical properties that should be preserved 😀
Your house is awesome. Its a gem and I wonder why the town council didn't do anything to help preserve this unique stunning property. It's unique because of the way of the windows, doors, the metal frame ... were built and I call it art. I hope you are able to get some
Just a stunning house & must have been a very prominent family in the past that had it built … Please engage with a architect that has experience with stone buildings. I’ve worked on historical stone buildings & you have a beauty .
@@TeaAndTinto No shortage of them , but always check on some of their past projects , but you definitely need a specialist in the field of craftsman buildings & more importantly don’t let the cowboys that widened your gateway touch anymore of your stonework, I’ve never seen someone butcher a beautiful quality craftsman built wall to such an extent . They could easily ruin a piece of history.
@@The4wildboysAgree. I would be inclined to seek the advice of an appropriately experienced architect. It seems to me that the ground floor was re-done in the mid to late sixties: the parquet, the covered up beams, etc. The age of the bathroom fittings could be a clue. Lots of mistakes made during renovations in that period. Take your time and get advice.
@@elizzy8754 Very true.. I’ve worked on many heritage projects over the years, once a old stone Anglican Church , many pictures & drawings as I had to paint numbers on every stone to ensure the building was as close to original as possible. I love t&ts house the stone quality is lovely 😊
Such a gorgeous, gorgeous house and in better repair than some I have seen on Utube. A little CRC on your keys and locks will make a difference. Have you repaired the roof? Water ingress does so much damage.
Hi from the UK👋 Loved your opening scenes made me laugh 😂 It must have been a beautiful home once upon a time and I am sure given time and within your budget it will be once again. Love the glass doors or half glass idea it will definitely bring some much needed light into your home 😊
Your old house is gorgeous. What year was it built?? Are you guys going to ever share how much you paid for this beautiful home and property with us? I just love your home. It is absolutely spectacular.
Wow...great beginning! What a great project you both have. It's going to be so nice! I love your idea with the kitchen and dinner looking out thru glass doors! You're very blessed t have this! I so enjoy seeing it all.....
A casa é maravilhosa, vocês tem muito trabalho pela frente. Vou acompanhando daqui do Brasil. Parabéns pelo trabalho e principalmente por recuperar uma casa tão linda.
Lots and lots of work needed on this house but given time it could be a fantastic property. Really need the water/wet problems sorted out a.s.a.p. I can see that because of the cost you could consider splitting the house into 2or 3 homes. I wish you good luck with this project and am pleased that you are saving such a wonderful old building. Dread to think of the cost here in the U/K. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the tour from Florida USA. Great to see the before _ you will be busy bees! Now that you have basically whipped the land into shape it's going to be fascinating to watch what you do inside! How old is the house?
Hi there in Florida, USA. Thank you for watching. I love the comment about whipping the land into shape. Made me laugh. If only we could do the same quickly for the house 😀

What a project, will test your building skills and bank balance. Looking forward to watching you develop it.
Ha ha. That's so true.
I think the ground floor would make a lovely guest apartment.
We will consider it. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much. I agree with you. It's hard sourcing an architect. Any suggestions or contacts would be greatly appreciated 😀

Your stories are engaging, both through your lens and with your narration. Your house is an architectural jewel. And frankly Anita- you rock!

hello from Minnesota, USA!
Hi there Kathy in Minnesota 👋
Casa maravilhosa e a precisar de muito trabalho mas devagar se vai longe.
É bom ouvi-los falar português ❤
Muito obrigado
Consider the paint pealing off the ceiling in the kitchen . That is what will happen to the other ceilings if you paint them
We will not be paint other ceilings. Thank you for your advise.
All the outside walls need to be stripped to bare stone to stop the moisture collecting . Lime render/ pointing will stop that
I agree, it will be a long term project. Thank you for your advise.
I see a lot of work but there is quite a lot potential would be good to get it done
Thank you 😊
wat een prachtig huis hebben jullie.....love it
Thank you very much 😁
Hello from Kentucky, USA
Hi Linda in Kentucky USA

Hello from Johannesburg South Africa
Hi there Eileen in Johannesburg 😄
That bucket you called a shower isn't a shower it's designed to work while you are sitting in a bath
Oh! That's very interesting 👍
There's an awful lot of damage due to damp, and flooding.
That's true
