Great video!! You also want to make sure you keep your gun 90 degrees (level) while spraying so you don’t have more product where the gun is angled.
You have good luck sanding with 220grit between coats vs 320?

Hey there. I'm a first-time viewer, and I love your content. I hope you are still making videos! I live in Wisconsin, so I have Rockler and Woodcraft stores with General Finishes product close by. Question for you. In the near future, I'm going to stain and glaze a swamp ash Telecaster guitar body light gray with midnight black grain lines. Do you think the process and GF products you demonstrated will be a good one for my guitar topcoat?

Apologies for the delayed response! Balancing content creation with the demands of life (especially with four kids!) can be quite the juggle. While I lack expertise in musical instruments and their finishes' or potential impact on acoustics, I can attest that all the furniture I've crafted using GF products surpasses their oil-based counterparts. The finish is impeccable, cleanup is a breeze, and overall, GF proves more forgiving if errors occur. Count me as a staunch supporter of GF! Besides Rockler & Wood Craft Amazon also carries GF products and is a lifesaver since it's hard to get locally here near me - plus they ship to my door! ;) Keep me posted on the progress of your project!

    Why spray out water first?

Spraying water through an HVLP sprayer before using water-based finishes is important because it cleans out any debris or residue, prevents clogging, and ensures the sprayer is functioning properly. This practice also lubricates the sprayer and helps avoid contamination, leading to a smoother and more even application of your finish.
