You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch - as the holidays approach, this features Matt and he owns it. Can You Feel The Love Tonight - This cover of the song from The Lion King is beautiful both visually and artistically. There are a lot more but this is enough for now. Again welcome back. I love how Kirstie steps up and *owns* her mezzo range in this number. She's not some squeaky soprano or a chirpy-voiced pop diva. This lady has some serious *pipes* and she takes that key change and really lets loose here.

Kyle I’ve been a fan of Pentatonix for ages. I’ve seen them in concert. I’m loving your videos and your reactions to their music. But this is my all-time favourite. Your reaction when Scott starts singing is fantastic. And even though this is one of my favourite performances of theirs I don’t mind that you keep pausing because you are clearly enjoying this song and that is so lovely to see. Pentatonix released a lot of stuff while you were gone they released an "At Home" EP with 6 new covers (there's a video for each one except "Cologne") And they just released a brand new original called " Happy Now" It's Matt's first original with PTX
As to the Avi/Matt, they bring so many different things to the group. I was a die hard Avi fan, and was not thrilled at first with Matt coming in the group....until I heard him sing. That voice is like velvet! Soooo good!
Don't apologize for pausing. Your pauses are always on point, educational and interesting. Believe me, there are reactors who pause far more often and have totally stupid comments. I love listening to you because I always learn something and it's always a joy to watch people discovering Pentatonix!!

I just discovered and subscribed to you yesterday and have gone on a bit of a binge because I'm a fellow Pentaholic. I, too, love your "I'm a little worried / concerned / wondering how they'll..." followed by "my concerns are gone / HOLY MOLY / or just deep stares into the screen" so keep doing what you do when you come back. One thing in this version that I notice, that no one ever mentions “But my words, like sin lent raindrops fell” on the word fell, they do an awesome fall of like an octave with their voices. I feel they did this deliberately on the word fell, because they did not do this at the same place in the other verses.
I don't typically watch reaction videos, but I'm on a huge Pentatonix kick right now. Your in depth music analysis is on point. It definitely sets you apart from amature channels.

Dude, you have no idea how much I smiled when I saw you were back with a reaction. My concerns are gone as you say. There aren't many reactors that point out the genius move they made in supporting Matt with the higher notes while he maintained a lower octave at the end of that verse where you would expect him to go high like the others did. Glad to see you back! I agree with you on Kirstin. I've always loved her obviously but since last year (for me), her voice has really been sticking out to me in their songs. Like I hear her the most most of the times. It's almost piercing but in a good way. Her low range to high range is so beautiful and she does it with ease. Ugh, she's so good. And yes, sometimes I can't tell who is singing when Mitch and Kirstie are singing background together. They can really sound the same if they want to!!!
I love all their stuff. In the past, I've noted that she seemed to do mostly backup & it kinda bothered me that the only girl was pushed back like that. But, lately, she is getting more front time (since Matt joined? Don't know why that would be connected). I really appreciate the power she has to front the guys so well with that crystal clear voice.
Claire Barnett It was her choice to be in the background as she was not comfortable with herself back in the day. She has grown in so many ways and is rightfully taking her place in the spotlight. She’s a force to be reckoned with for sure!
I think Kirstie jumped in there on the top note of Matt's run you were talking about. You're only about the second reactor I've seen catch that the first time listening, and I've watched a bunch of people react to this tune. We're just happy that Matt joined our PTX family. He's an awesome addition to the team. Avi hand picked him to take his place. They don't have to be the same to both be amazing. They're brothers of the PTX family forever ❤
Did you know that Scott started a kids acapella group about 2 years ago called acapopkids? they are produced and arranged by PTX's arrangers and they are also very, very awesome! The ages are 8-16 and they have about 15 videos and about 10, what they call minis, that were produced at home because of the pandemic. you'll hear little Mitches, little Kirstens , little Matts little Kevins and little Scotts. You will be amazed to think they are children!
Kirsten is everything in this, yes. This was also my first time hearing Matt after he joined the group and I liked him immediately. Plus after watching the PTXperience, I fell in love with his energy and his dynamic with everyone in the group. I still love the OG PTX but Matt also breathes a different kind of life into the group. Great reaction.
Your observations are the best I've seen. Thank you for pointing out the huge contribution of Kirsten. Most people only recognize Mitch (who is wonderful don't get me wrong) but don't realize what she's really doing. Scott is a beast on this and Matt has a terrific voice. And what can you say about Kevin? One of a kind!
I heard a reactor explain the difference between Disturbed’s version and Pentatonix’s this way - Disturbed’s is more “angry” while Pentatonix’s is meant to give us hope. So much of Pentatonix’s music, be it covers or originals, is all about the message. I found you 3 years later but I definitely subscribed for more. Thank you.

Hehe You picked a PERFECT song to come back on ... I love how it floored you.. The true mark of a great group is the ability to adapt as the dynamic changes... While I would LOVE to see Pentatonix and Avi get together for a project, I enjoy Matt in the group. I enjoyed Avi's time in PTX and LOVE what he is doing on his own. I don't think we would have ever gotten to hear this side of Avi if he would have stayed with the group. I'm also a Home Free fan, and they went through a similar transition. Their music changed in a good way too.

Dude, you have no idea how much I smiled when I saw you were back with a reaction. My concerns are gone as you say. There aren't many reactors that point out the genius move they made in supporting Matt with the higher notes while he maintained a lower octave at the end of that verse where you would expect him to go high like the others did. Glad to see you back! I agree with you on Kirstin. I've always loved her obviously but since last year (for me), her voice has really been sticking out to me in their songs. Like I hear her the most most of the times. It's almost piercing but in a good way. Her low range to high range is so beautiful and she does it with ease. Ugh, she's so good. And yes, sometimes I can't tell who is singing when Mitch and Kirstie are singing background together. They can really sound the same if they want to!!!
Also, if you're going to react to their new EP, Kirstie is also freaking amazing in all the songs!
I love all their stuff. In the past, I've noted that she seemed to do mostly backup & it kinda bothered me that the only girl was pushed back like that. But, lately, she is getting more front time (since Matt joined? Don't know why that would be connected). I really appreciate the power she has to front the guys so well with that crystal clear voice.
Claire Barnett It was her choice to be in the background as she was not comfortable with herself back in the day. She has grown in so many ways and is rightfully taking her place in the spotlight. She’s a force to be reckoned with for sure!

I think Kirstie jumped in there on the top note of Matt's run you were talking about. You're only about the second reactor I've seen catch that the first time listening, and I've watched a bunch of people react to this tune. (I didn't notice it until someone else pointed it out to me.)

Did you know that Scott started a kids acapella group about 2 years ago called acapopkids? they are produced and arranged by PTX's arrangers and they are also very, very awesome! The ages are 8-16 and they have about 15 videos and about 10, what they call minis, that were produced at home because of the pandemic. you'll hear little Mitches, little Kirstens , little Matts little Kevins and little Scotts. You will be amazed to think they are children!

Kirsten is everything in this, yes. This was also my first time hearing Matt after he joined the group and I liked him immediately. Plus after watching the PTXperience, I fell in love with his energy and his dynamic with everyone in the group. I still love the OG PTX but Matt also breathes a different kind of life into the group. Great reaction.

Your observations are the best I've seen. Thank you for pointing out the huge contribution of Kirsten. Most people only recognize Mitch (who is wonderful don't get me wrong) but don't realize what she's really doing. Scott is a beast on this and Matt has a terrific voice. And what can you say about Kevin? One of a kind!

I've loved this song since about 1969, and I think it's very cool that they borrowed so much from the Disturbed cover. Very well selected.
I heard a reactor explain the difference between Disturbed’s version and Pentatonix’s this way - Disturbed’s is more “angry” while Pentatonix’s is meant to give us hope. So much of Pentatonix’s music, be it covers or originals, is all about the message. I found you 3 years later but I definitely subscribed for more. Thank you.

And Scott has always covered bass when Matt... or Avi... had the solo. It's just not always obvious in video filming.
What's also shocking is that Mitch is a hella beat boxer. They so depend on him for the highs that he never gets to in their songs - I've only heard him in goof around sessions or some Superfruit.
Couldn't agree more about your comments about Avi and Matt. We get to enjoy the best of both.

I just wanted to say that Avi was instrumental in finding and choosing Matt to replace him in Pentatonix, so he got a big stamp of approval before we all met him. I miss Avi, too, but I love Matt's unique voice.

Hehe You picked a PERFECT song to come back on ... I love how it floored you.. The true mark of a great group is the ability to adapt as the dynamic changes... While I would LOVE to see Pentatonix and Avi get together for a project, I enjoy Matt in the group. I enjoyed Avi's time in PTX and LOVE what he is doing on his own. I don't think we would have ever gotten to hear this side of Avi if he would have stayed with the group. I'm also a Home Free fan, and they went through a similar transition. Their music changed in a good way too.
This version with Pentatonix gives me chills. Matt brings a lot to the group and I'm a fan of Avi and am so glad he's making music. Glad you're back. My concerns are gone. 😊

I totally agree with you on people arguing over Matt vs. Avi. I love Avi. He's my favorite solo artist. He did a great job during his time with the group. But I'm so so glad I got introduced to Matt. He's a great guy with big talent. Life is unexpected. Things change. Avi is happy. Pentatonix is happy. I think that's all that matters.
