Adrianna Wingert I hadn’t even started watching the video yet and read your comment coz it’s at the top of the comment section - knew instantly which part you were talking about, didn’t need to wait for it! 😂
Fun fact: after they met for the first time as a group the day before their audition for the Sing Off and were then accepted to be one of the 16 groups that were to compete that season of the show, they all traveled back to the home town of Scott, Mitch and Kirstie, Arlington, Texas, to start practicing together before the season started. They practiced in Scott's childhood home. Scott's mom, Connie, had picked them up at the airport. She was in bed while the kids practiced in the lower level. Scott's dad, Rick, had been at work. When he laid down in bed with his wife, he could hear them practicing. He asked his wife, "did Scott buy a drum kit?" Connie answered, "No, that's Kevin."
@@totallyrandomtee8771 I heard it from the Parent Panel of Pentacon 2016. The story starts at about 47:00. I relistened to it and I got it a bit mixed up. It was Scott's mom that was at work, came home, went to bed and asked about the drumming coming from downstairs and Scott's Dad saying, "No, that's Kevin." LOTS of great stories from this panel! ua-cam.com/video/g4JHf8oP-Tg/v-deo.html
The fact that Mitch can do the guitar sound without anything else than his voice and the megaphone was just put in there as a visual representation as to not freak out new comers and make it a bit more believable is just...sick.
lmao at your F%*$, Avi at the end. He can really hit you in the gut. You are actually quite a good reactor, and your comments sound like you are a musician, or at least someone who really loves music. Avi has some great leads with PTX, including The First Noel, Standing By and his bass part is amazing on Jolene with Dolly Parton, which won a Grammy. Kirstie also has some great early leads, including Say Something, Rather Be and Water, which she wrote. You can see that at PTX Popspring Water. Looking forward to more!
Your reactions are pure and not overly dramatic. They have done a lot of covers and original songs. Anything you pick will be mind blowing! I enjoy watch people discover how amazing Pentatonix is! I like your dog and beard.❤
Kyle Kholin Yes Kirstin would like your dog too. She has two huskies named Olaf and Pascal and a little pomsky. Named Floof who travels on tour with them a lot. She loves her doggies.
I think a lot of Pentaholics just love watching your journey discovering Pentatonix, so trust me, it's as much about you as it's about them!! Love your reactions!!
The pure joy of listening to them for the first time is something I can’t recapture outside of watching other people hear them. Everyone has different reactions to songs based on their own experiences in life and with music. I like how you can focus in on what individual members are doing at specific times. One of the best things about Pentatonix is that all the members shine at different times on different songs. Scott and Kristin on “Shallow” are so incredible. Mitch’s voice SENDS me every time. Kevin may in fact be a wizard. Avi is just stunning everytime and Matt is really so good. You have a great journey ahead of you. Also as a fellow husky parent I had to sub!
You really should watch Aha! live at singapore....Mitch is UNBELIEVABLE Also, side note, Mitch and Scott have a youtube channel called Superfruit..theres some awesome content on their...esp their collab with Brian, mary, and jose....Rise.
Yes! Everyone that reacts to this one is amazed. The notes Mitch hits are amazing, but the bass notes Avi hits in the background are also impressive. Here's the link if you want to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/aT2Nm4fYmI4/v-deo.html
Please don't, the quality is horrible. I hate that recording with a passion. The sound and visual quality is for shit, it's exclusively of Mitch (the others are barely shown and basically not audible) and the only thing you really hear is his high note - and that sounds like a train screeching to a stop. If this was the first live recording I heard of them I'd think they are the worst live group ever. I don't understand why people keep recommending it!
Kirstie has the lead in: Say Something, Rather Be, & Water (an original). She gained a lot of confidence during/after a 3 month stint on Broadway in early 2018, and has been more willing to take the lead since then. Also, I think she’s had some of the lead in every song they’ve released in 2019.
To see the new bass, Matt, watch their newer stuff: xmas songs from this year, Havana, New Rules/Are You That Somebody (mashup), and their own medleys- all the Evolution of ______. (Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, etc). Also, Superfruit’s Beyonce medley is AMAZING, same with the Rihanna ANTI medley, the two Hip Hop Goes Broadway, and Feeling Myself, where Mitch SLAYS the rap. Also check out Kevin’s solo stuff, since you seem to like his beatboxing a lot. He does covers, but does EVERY PART by himself. Mind blowing. Just look for Kevin Olusola, aka K.O.
I think Kevin was working on his beatboxing when he was in China and performed with someone big. He is also a premed graduate from Yale and a classically trained cellist, and her performed at Carnegie Hall. Oh, he is fluent in Mandarin too.
True! I have no doubt they could have individual successful careers, however when they are together they create musical ART that is emotionally moving, perfectly arranged and unprecedented! I hope we have them around for many years to come! 🤞🏻❤️🤞🏻
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight?", "The Sounf of Silence" or "Where are you Christmas?" Are all strong Kirstie songs, and " Can You Feel the Love Tonight" is the most recent. I love Kirstie! glad you enjoyed this! and I'm glad you feel better!
If you want to stay in the “earlier” days while hearing Kirstie then I’d recommend Say Something for sure! Or Rather Be. I personally prefer Say Something but either is fine!

aryiana1 Home Free also started their careers on the Sing Off season 4. PTX came back to visit the show that year. That’s how they met Avi. Avi did cameos/photo bombs (2ct) on this Home Free vid... ua-cam.com/video/1L8zGfKDCCY/v-deo.html 🤣🤣🤣
They made one of their best behind the scenes videos when they were shooting this. They filmed all night long, nearly froze to death, Kevin fell off the couch and nearly smashed Avi, they had set disasters, and it really is as much fun to watch as this performance.

I like a short-to-medium length intro and short-to-long length outro. I enjoy hearing about your expectations before and thoughts after you watch the video. You've been doing great!
I like just a brief verbal intro, doesn't have to be a rehearsed adage or anything, just descripting the video, what you're expecting of it, maybe a brief story in relation to the video, etc.
Glad you're feeling better. It's good you are going in the direction you are because you can watch their evolution. They have gotten so much better as they've matured and gotten more experience. They were already incredible when they first started off but they have just improved so much since then. Also, did anyone else hear a warble sound when he started the video?
This is one of my favourite of their covers. The song has so much going on in the first place and I think it allows them to show off their talent so well. It's so cool to see your reactions to hearing this for the first time!
I'm so grateful to have come across this channel in its infancy because I know for a fact that it will grow. Your comments are a perfect mix of real musical insight and genuine reactions. You help me appreciate songs I've heard a hundred times as if they were brand new. That being said, it sounds like the song is being recorded through a fan. It's probably some fluke editing thing, but it is strange. I hope you got to hear it the right way. I think you'd really enjoy or at least appreciate some older Bon Iver songs, particularly Holocene and 8 Circle (my very favorite song). Whatever you react to, I'll be tuning in!
No-one is the Diva in Pentatonix….everyone plays to their strengths and, in true a capella style, the best voice for the particular harmony comes to the fore!
I love your reactions - I can see by your expressions that your comments are genuine - but the fact that you noticed that they are a close knit 'family', makes me appreciate your views even more, because you're noticing MORE than just the music and their talent. They are exceptional.
Get ready for your channel to blow up lol. Pentatonix fans love watching reaction videos. It's allows us to feel that first high of seeing them perform again.
I think you're pretty good at these reactions.....there's an honesty in your reactions. Older stuff - Rather Be (Kirstie is the lead vocal), La La Latch and Can't Hold Us. These are good older videos. Love Again is a good original from them also. They also have a live version of Hallelujah from their Christmas special a few years ago if you want to see it performed live. Hi from Chicago!
Love your dog ! Thanks for bringing us your reactions ! We Pentaholics love it. They rock this, filmed in a parking lot, and "live" they sound the same. The Megaphone is a prop. Live he sound the same. They also have a "how its made" video for this. Brian May, Queen's guitarist, liked the tribute.
On top of everything you hear Kevin do in beat boxing he's concert proficient at cello and saxophone, speaks four languages and was top of his class in pre-med when he threw that all out the window to try out for Pentatonix. Just over-all an admirably talented guy. You have to listen to Home Free- Ring of Fire, featuring Avi Kaplan. He helps hit a few REALLY low notes in that one. Then, you will suffer ignominiously if you never hear him do Change On The Rise. The best thing to come out of his mouth.
You're real fun to watch reactions because you know what you're talking about when it comes to singing. You can appreciate the craft more than most someone who isn't a musician.
They all have such fantastic range and talent that it seems like there are twice as many people most of the time. I love your reactions. They are exactly what my reactions were the first time. And the second... and the third...
During the Sing Off, they sang their version of Video Killed the Radio Star. robot moves, the black framed glasses, and even a little Max Headroom vibe. That song was done with only 2 days prep time, and they nailed it! Since that time, I couldn't stop listening to them.....I'm definitely a Pentaholic! Love your videos. Cheers! :)
We subscribe not only because we like SOME reaction videos, but because we appreciate your reaction You obviously know about music and can hear it. Thank you. Welcome to Pentatonix.
Im glad you’re feeling better! Stay well! I’m really enjoying your reactions. I love that you are coming from a different background musically, so I can appreciate your introduction to them even more. Being only five singers, each one of them is vital to each song. If you want to see if they can perform this live, check out some of the fan recordings when they performed it at the Hollywood Bowl for the 4th of July a couple of years ago. It was the first time they had performed it live. It was also after Avi had announced he was leaving the group. He left in September of that year. (They are still good friends.) In the first of the Hollywood Bowl performances they were joined by a choir from the A Capella Academy, which was founded by Avi, Ben Bram, PTX’s arranger/producer (someone correct me if I have that wrong, please) and Rob Dietz. You’ll see Avi look back at them like a proud papa! Welcome to the wonderful world of PTX! I wonder if you realize you are likely to go down the rabbit hole and join the rest of us who are in awe of what they do so well, so consistently.
Jean Caldwell LoVe You Jean! Your Right! Once you go down this rabbit hole... one will Never be the Same! Chosen Family w/in the fandom. I like this guy... he fits right in!
Kyle!???! You are a very good reactor. Your reactions are open and genuine, and you notice and point out details that I haven't seen yet! What a de!ight 😃 Part of the pleasure of loving Pentatonix is watching others discover them. PTXtasy!!!!😍
Love your reactions!! Brian May tweeted out this video when it was first released so I would say they did the song justice. Would suggest Say Something, Sound of Silence, Rather Be to name just a few.
You should maybe also check out some Superfruit! It's Mitch and Scott from Pentatonix. They've done all kinds of things on their channel, from covers to original music to just some fun challenges. I would recommend their Lady Gaga medley and Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 and 2! Just remember to stay all the way until the end for the bloopers!
A couple more suggestions: Imagine (John Lennon cover); Gold (Kiiara cover ... but watch her video first); No (Megan Trainor cover); Problem (Ariana Grande cover). Also, their original Love Again (similar to the Daft Punk video in design), and originals Run to You, Misbehavin' and Cracked.
HI Kyle. I have followed Pentatonix for several years and I agree with you that they are sort of next level. In your 1st reaction to them , I think many people feel the same about you did. That A Capella that it is sort of choir-ie and barber shop stuff. Pentatonix has sort of created it own art form My gut feeling is that Scott who is basically the arranger and I think it would be safe to call him a prodigy at this. I have been a musician all my life and sometimes when I finish listening to a new song by them, I just sit there stunned ? Dah ? just the same way you felt when you finished " Mary don't you know. Pretty amazing. Thanks for taking the time to do a reaction video. I enjoy them.
Great reaction, love that you appreciate each and every musical part, every tone and every member, as you said in your first (or second) reaction, how could 5 great talented people ended together! Is like someone hand-picked each one, to be part of something great
So glad you are feeling better. Tis the season. Love seeing someone discover the amazing talents of Pentatonix. Mitch is a absolutely amazing and he also plays instruments. They are doing a world tour and there is behind the scenes videos and it shows how silly they all are together. You are becoming a Pentatolix.
Welcome to your Pentatonix discovery journey. You have so much to discover and let me tell you each one you will say "how the ffu..." Enjoy every minute of it.
Ptx is on another level is an understatement. They are so so talented. And i love your reactions. I see a lot of Rather Be comments. One of my favs. Listened to it yesterday....twice
You are a good reactor for Pentatonix fans esp, because you love them. You are pleasing to look at w your teddy-bear beard, you express with earnestness what we all think about them.
It's always fun to watch a new Pentaholic discover these amazing singers. Their covers are always spot-on ( some are even better than the originals, imo), and they have truly underrated original songs too. "Sing" always cheers me up, and "Run to You" is haunting in it's beauty and complexity. And since you seem to be enjoying riding the A Capella train, another group to check out is Home Free. Their cover of "End of the Road" by Boys to Men is a good launching point.
You're doing great! Love your uninhibited comments while listening. You express feelings with your face and voice. So many reactors don't. Extra point for not freaking out because the couch moves on its own... Please check out comments below on poor video audio quality.
Awwh love your reactions! Love that you were skeptical in the first reaction, now you’ve reacted to 4 PTX videos... 😂😂 they are insanely good, I agree!! Other covers that will blow you away are Sound of Silence (a MUST watch!!) and Imagine, then you have That’s Christmas to Me that makes me cry e.v.e.r.y time, harmonies, Christmas spirit, footages, absolutely heart warming ❤️ looking forward to more reactions! ☺️
Subscribed. Shivani N says it perfectly below. Hearing them for the first time is amazing and I love watching people listen to them for the first time - always gives me chills and puts a huge smile on my face. A lot of new people to PTX wonder how they sound live. I suggest Hallelujah from their Xmas TV special or Aha! Singapore. Looking forward to more reaction videos.
She gets time to shine in some of their songs. If you want to hear each of them singing, their cover of Sound of Silence is a good one. If you like Avi's base, check out Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire where he made a guest appearance. He and Tim Foust in one song is just insane.
I really enjoy your reactions. It's always fun to be present when a new person discovers Pentatonix. You need to also check out Scott and Mitch's Superfruit "Rise" cover! And might I say, you're lookin' smokin' hot today!
Hi, watching you reacting to these guys gives me as much pleasure as it did when I watched them for the first time myself, I was in awe at their harmonising and the way their individual voices melt together when they sing. Try watching Something , and one of my favourites Mary, did you know. Great channel keep it up.
Thanks so much for your reaction videos ! It is awesome to share reactions with you since during the pandemic, we cannot see friends at all. It makes your work even more relevant ! Thanks for sharing your work with us!
I am so excited that you took my suggestion & maybe others too and listened to their version of Bohemian rhapsody and more than that, that you clearly like it as much as I do!!!
Glad you are feeling better! you are doing good on all the reactions. Kirstin is great, react to Shallow or Can you feel the love tonight, these are some recent songs from them, ALSO if you could React to AVI Kaplan since he is no longer with Pentatonix would be great " Change on the Rise, Get Down, Quarter past four to name a few. Thanks!!!!
dude, I love your reactions!! you're so honest and appreciative and I dig that. pentatonix have so many insane vocal skills as individuals, but when you smash them together they're a force to be reckoned with. they've also really grown over time. the range of everybody is just insane now. I especially recommend their cover of sound of silence, can you feel the love tonight and the christmas songs (SO MANY CHRISTMAS SONGS) :)
Literally anything of theirs is amazing and just perfect! Attention is one of my favorites you should totally check out, and all of their Christmas music is fantastic, their arrangements are out of this world and certain Christmas songs I was never really fond of I absolutely love now because of them! O come all ye faithful, let it snow, deck the halls, and hark the harold angels are amazing just to name a few that I love! Also making Christmas is one they arranged themselves from the nightmare before Christmas. And come along is another super fun piece..... so pretty much back to my original point of everything lol. Love your reactions! Your pure raw emotion of when you hear them is wonderful to see, it's like I'm re experiencing them for the first time
I subscribe to y'all doing PTX reaction videos because I LOVE seeing people's minds blown and fall in love with the group I've been staunchly supporting since the Sing Off in 2011.
Glad you're feeling better. So happy you enjoyed this as much as we Pentaholics do.Did you know that Kirsten was on Broadway a little over a year ago? She was in Kinky Boots. As you find more of their videos you'll see she gets plenty of solo time.
Kyle, you are so humble. It makes watching your channel very special to me. You ARE good at reacting. I enjoy your delight when you hear something that surprises you. Plus, I learn from you. I don't know your knowledge base, but you point out sounds I would miss on my own. So, I think you are doing so well! Thanks for your wise observations. Looking forward to lots more. Thanks!
Okay I said that before I heard the f'ed up audio. :P It really might be worth your time to capture it fresh, re-render, and update. It's not that hard, you could probably have it done in 20 minutes plus an hour or two of rendering/uploading.
Kyle: "I know it's going to be hard to keep it similar to the original"
Pentatonix: "We got this"

Yeah a short intro and short outro but by all means if you love a video and need to gush about it for. 20 minutes afterwards by all means xP
They GOT HIM ! WATCH HIS EYES, watch HIS eyebrows! Listen to what he says! THEY GOT HIM !
You’re actually super good at making reaction videos. I love watching them! 👍🏼
Great reaction! Can't wait for the next one 👍😊
Their cover of sound of silence is jaw dropping. Glad to see you experiencing this group!
I love Pentatonix. And thank you for your TRUE, REAL reaction to them. Makes you very speacial. I couldn't make comments to truely justifies them
No-one is the Diva in Pentatonix….everyone plays to their strengths and, in true a capella style, the best voice for the particular harmony comes to the fore!
I think you do fantastic reactions! Glad you're feeling better
Had a great time watching you react. Thanks man.
"Kevin i a wizard" ... true man! So true! And not only he is such ... miraculous beeing.
I think it was one of his advisors who told him he was talented and medicine will always be there and to go for it.
PentaTonya FanGirl Yes, he definitely does! I do look forward to his reactions.
Kyle!???! You are a very good reactor. Your reactions are open and genuine, and you notice and point out details that I haven't seen yet!
What a de!ight 😃
Part of the pleasure of loving Pentatonix is watching others discover them.
PTXtasy!!!!😍
Love your reactions!! Brian May tweeted out this video when it was first released so I would say they did the song justice. Would suggest Say Something, Sound of Silence, Rather Be to name just a few.
I hope you get to see the clip floating around where Mitch is imitating the sound of a sharpie pen. It's hilarious
My favorite old video is "Thrift Shop." It's goofy and fun and lots of Avi. Please react to that. And "Say Something" for a kirstie song.
Your reactions are so enjoyable to watch, so real! More!!
Omg... Loved your reaction 👏👏...I was waiting to see your face when Mitch did the guitar ❤️ Can't want to see more PTX reactions!
Is like someone hand-picked each one, to be part of something great
I really enjoy watching your reactions. They're pure and honest.
Somewhere on UA-cam is a side-by-side video of Queen and Pentatonix doing this and there just about perfectly in synch.
Your channel brings me such joy. Watching someone else hearing their songs for the first time.... priceless.
I really enjoying your reaction to PTX, please keep up your great work!!!
"Why is Avi lookin' at me?" LMAO!
You have to listen to their sing off competition, you really see them shine and blow the judges minds.
Ptx is on another level is an understatement. They are so so talented. And i love your reactions. I see a lot of Rather Be comments. One of my favs. Listened to it yesterday....twice
This video is a throwback to their earlier days on YT where they would sing while sitting on their couch. Love PTX!
ISN'T IT FUN BEING BLOWN AWAY? So much to discover from these guys. Have fun! (Glad you shook the flu.)
You are a good reactor for Pentatonix fans esp, because you love them. You are pleasing to look at w your teddy-bear beard, you express with earnestness what we all think about them.
Wait to you get to Say Something, Kirstin will blow your mind
Really love your reactions...you really pay attention to the details! Thanks!
I love watching your reactions to their music...just so amazing.
Love your reaction. On your face you can see how much the music mean to you!
I love watching reactions to Pentatonix. Thanks!
Yaaaaaaaaaas!! Keven's a wizard!
I love that you opened yourself up to really hear them, I know it's not your usual style. To me, they are amazing!!!
She gets time to shine in some of their songs. If you want to hear each of them singing, their cover of Sound of Silence is a good one. If you like Avi's base, check out Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire where he made a guest appearance. He and Tim Foust in one song is just insane.
I just LOVE your reactions... so real and you know music, so you can appreciate them even more
I really enjoy your reactions. It's always fun to be present when a new person discovers Pentatonix. You need to also check out Scott and Mitch's Superfruit "Rise" cover!
And might I say, you're lookin' smokin' hot today!
I love your reactions, I am always amazed by Pentatonix!
Kirsten has an amazing solo in “can u feel the love tonight” which, I think, is their most recent cover.
Thanks!!!!
Kirstie the sings the lead in say something...and kevin cello boxes..and it's friggin beautiful. One of my favs
dude, I love your reactions!! you're so honest and appreciative and I dig that. pentatonix have so many insane vocal skills as individuals, but when you smash them together they're a force to be reckoned with. they've also really grown over time. the range of everybody is just insane now.
Thanks!
Yes you are good at it! I'm loving watching you discover Pentatonix and the new acapella they basically created.
Okay I said that before I heard the f'ed up audio. :P
It really might be worth your time to capture it fresh, re-render, and update. It's not that hard, you could probably have it done in 20 minutes plus an hour or two of rendering/uploading.
