We were just out in Cody two weeks ago to see the Cody museum and we did not know about this Winchester show coming. Oh how I wish we had checked and scheduled accordingly.........................
Howdy Mark, congratulations on the honor of lifetime membership!!!! When I was driving over the road, I stopped at the Cody Museum and boy, I was plum speechless at their collection!! It was a great time and I recommend the trip to everyone with an interest in firearms! Thanks for all you do, and also for that gorgeous backdrop. God bless, Happy Trails!! 🤠
When I was younger in the 1970s I remember my Grandfather taking me to a gun show in Pomona, CA and had a Winchester exhibit to it and I must say this show outdoes that one probably 3 to 1 in size. I remember an ivory stocked Winchester at the Pomona show and I can't help but wonder if it might be the same one. When working for John Martz Luger carbine maker I made a complete ivory stocked, forend and grips with ivory magazine bases matching the grips. Those other Winchester rifles and çarbines were very beautifully made. Thanks Mark for taking us there to view the fine old Winchesters. Yes, I will now become a member after all, the Luger would not have occurred without the Winchester coming before.
I joined about a week ago and will use up all my 15 research requests in the next month! What a wonderful organization. I visited the Cody Museum 20 years ago, and should have joined then. Didn't know what I was missing. The first thing I look for on UA-cam is Mark's channel.
Thanks for a quick peek of the show...and like Mark said "for those of you who haven't joined the Winchester Arms Collector's Assoc." The beautiful and informative magazine is worth the price of admission.
Congratulations on the lifetime membership Mark. I've been to the Cody museum twice. It never disappoints. I do believe the hickory shirt you wear has become your signature apparel. Lol.
Congratulations Mark. Thanks for a great video. Loved those old Vocanic arms too. It would be nice if Uberti or Henry reintroduced a version for us who will never afford an original.
I came to the Cody Firearms Museaum this summer and the dog walker I had arranged for bailed out on me. I was so disapointed! As a kid, I remember a museaum being west of Cody, at the damn. I am not sure if it turned into the Cody museaum or not.
Your just trying to entice us all to attend next year. Yep, I could get lost in there wide eyed looking at everything! Thanks for sharing with us. Audio wasn't that bad. You are certainly worthy of that award. Congratulations. I joined because of your videos. Winchester Arms Collectors Association. :)
We visited the Cody Museum in 2003. At that time they had a large number of rifles on loan from the Smithsonian museum. I wish we had spent more time in Cody the rodeo was great fun too.
I joined the Winchester firearms association yesterday and as a result of watching your channel . Thank you for all the info and showing us all those beautiful old guns.
Went to the Cody Firearms Museum for the 1st time in June, and it was well worth the drive and price of admission. I searched all over Cody, Sheridan, and down in Buffalo, Wy for a cowboy gun proved difficult. In Buffalo, I came across a Winchester 94 in 38-55 that was 100 yrs old and not taken care of. It was loose, and the barrel was in horrible shape from black powder cartridges. They wanted an astronomical price, so I walked away.
Thanks for sharing. It sure brings back memories. Back in the 80's I would schedule my vacation times around gun shows. Cody was one of my favorite shows to go to. I met a lot of nice people throughout the years going to the shows. One man that I stayed in touch with for years was John Leonetti from Rifle Ridge Gun shop. He was one of the most talented men I have ever known and I learned more things about everything from him. We would also go to the Bozeman gun show at the Gallatin county fairgrounds. Man, that was a nice one as well. Anyway, thanks again for all the fine guns you show and shoot on you video's.
Very cool and congrats on the life time membership. I saw an old Winchester octagon barrel at our local gun show this weekend. I didn't study too hard because the price was fifteen hundred, but noticed the stock had a carved T in it that kind of looked like a ranch brand. It also had a crack in the grip area. The guy said it was an 1800's production and I want to say he said it was a 92, but I can't be 100% on that. I'd love to get an old one like that, but not knowing values and conditions I just let them go on by. I'm too afraid I'd spend a lot of money and end up with a bubba special.
Congratulations on the lifetime membership. And wow that ivory Stock Winchester is crazy. What a cool show. Myself and garret from the 11bang bang youtube channel. have been tracking down the history of my 73 Winchester. We believe we tracked it to a man named nate Priest. Who was one of the Posse members who chased after the Medicine Lodge Kansas bank robbers in 1884. Its believed he had the 73 Winchester with him During this pursuit and capture Of the robbers.
I wonder if you would consider filming some content pertaining to the early J Stevens 44 and 44 1/2 target rifles. Thank you for giving us a brief glimpse at some beautiful Stevens rifles at this show.
Wow I really like that video of the show I wish it was a lot longer but I understand lose track of time and you just get so excited when you’re in there that it just well it takes up all your time I get it but That was very interesting.
I was wondering if they had any 1866, (the Swiss rifle), 1867, and 1868 Winchesters. The only information I’ve ever seen on them is in the Standard Catalog of Firearms. Do you know anything about them?
Now im ready to buy another LeverAction rifle. WINCHESTER ive owen one when i was a kid. Im ready to replace my ole rifle. I did like those refurbished one on this video. I need to track one down now!!!!
The Cody show has a special place in my heart. It's where someone mistook Ian for me.
