    This is Amazing! I was sitting next to my dad at about 19. He was explaining that 60-80 yes is about max with a shotgun. Dad used to run a skeet and trap range with the Isaac Walton League at the 7S Air Force National Guard base at the Portland, Oregon Airport. As he was finishing saying that the small mound about 80 yrs away was maximum, a dove kick out of a tree and flew behind the mound. Almost without even pausing his sentence, the Remington Winchester 870 came up and the dove went down. The shot was some near the 90-100 yards mark. He continued, well I guess it will shoot a little further. Amazing!

    Very impressive, my only issue is him saying that it's 'lethal' i've seen birdshot bounce off balloons at 30 yards and it can hardly be considered lethal. I will admit that with a slug it would definately be lethal but your not shooting with a large shot group your only shooting with a single projectile. I also want to remind anyone who is willing to read this far that this shot is not impressive with a proper rifled shotgun and slug combination BUT shooting birdshot at this distance and still breaking clays requires an immense amount of skill and is thoroughly impressive considering the theotedical shot grouping and the fear that your group will completely miss the target even if your right on. Good shot mate and congrats on the record.

    I get all the safety top priority stuff, but... So many folks here are the same type who'd shi* their pants to see someone look down the barrel of a rifle during cleaning when the entire things been disassembled. Practical safety people, there's no point being a complete Sally just because the textbook says so. "always treat a weapon as if it were loaded." that phrase is a bit short, at the end should be amended with, "if you're unsure of it's condition." Thats what i follow and i've never been surprised before. Be safe, and don't be an a**hole.

    • @Wolfriverccw
      @Wolfriverccw 6 років тому

      You never, ever point the muzzle end of any firearm at anything you don't intend to shoot. That never changes, even if your gun is broken open. Maybe this is British safety? No excuses. Yes, the gun can't fire. No, the business end of a barrel should never be seen unless you just robbed a liquor store!
