In regards to the Mauga and Lifeweaver Grip interaction: Normally Mauga is stuck in his own Cage fight, but Life Grip doesn't only pull players out of an enemy Mauga's cage fight, It can pull a friendly Mauga out of his own cage fight.
One of my growing concerns with OW2 is the number of inconsistencies in ability interactions slowly growing over time and this seems especially with Mauga. It will fast become very difficult for new players to learn the game if heroes with similar abilities/effects each work slightly differently. I understand why they work the way they do but I imagine that this will have to be addressed at some point.
@@Scripzure there's only one other tank with unstoppable; the horse. Maybe other tanks need an unstoppable ability? (charge, piledrive, accretion, rampage)
While watching the video I felt like it was so unfair for some abilities to not do what their supposed to do just bc it's mauga idk, seems kinda unfair in some cases

A funny one is to have your mei lift you up as mauga with her wall over the edge, then place the cage fight on the wall right above the environment so when the wall breaks the cage drop down pulling violently everyone trapped by it down into the abyse
Fun fact, you can charge as mauga while you ult, if you start the charge IMMEDIATELY after you activate your ult. You will still get chained, but you are charging around your cage.
There's actually a very small casting time to Mauga's overrun where he can be countercharged by a Reinhardt or stunned in general. It's very slim though

Fun Fact: If the cage fight is on high enough ground, you can jump off that high ground/platform to break the chain. The chains have a limited length and if you jump off a high place you'll hang in midair for a moment, before the chain just lets go.
you can actually escape cage with petal platform but you need a decent amount of elevation already (think rialto first point, if you petal platform from the high ground near the bridge for example it would be enough to break the chains)
I love the interaction between Orisa and Mauga because they're kinda counters to each other. Mauga counters fortify with either the Cha-Cha crit damage and/or sheer close range damage output if the orisa misuses her spin, but fortify means Orisa can just completely ignore the cage fight if she has it up. Similarly, Reaper is a counter to Mauga the same way he is for all tanks (Especially with Mauga being so massive), but Reaper gets completely neutered if he's caught in cage fight, with no tp or wraith to save himself from getting annihilated.
Also I keep hearing people say Mauga's broken. Is he too strong? Yes. Is he broken? Heck no. Yes he needs to be nerfed as the majority of characters can't survive long enough up close to have a chance, even tanks. But also he's such a bullet magnet that he can be punished very easily for over-aggressiveness. And that's ignoring Ana's Anti, which is a hard counter that basically allows the enemy team to punish mauga for existing. [Yes kiri exists but suzu has a longer cooldown than ana's nade and it's also needed to counter a multitude of other things, so if the ana's team has an ashe or something like that they can just bait out the suzu then Anti mauga and delete him.] An idea i have to balance him would be to decrease his damage against armour (perhaps gunny & chacha do 40% to 60% less damage to armour instead of the usual 30%). And also make his health/armour split 425/75 instead of 350/150, but make his Cardiac Overdrive Cleanse the Anti Affect so it's no longer a hard counter.

I recall a DPS hero that use to be a Support that could grant a small amount of shield health, another DPS hero that could occasionally grant a very small amount of Armour and at least two current Support heroes that have Ults that grant overhealth when used. Kinda like there was a few ways to help mitigate the anti-heal effect that are now entirely gone or nerfed to the point that Ana with her Anti-Heal is almost a mandatory pick and Kiriko is the mandatory counter pick. From there it's only a matter of sleeping or killing the Enemy Ana to actually get anywhere....sigh...

Oh something my friend and I experienced recently. He (playing Mauga) ulted near the edge of Nepal's map and caught the enemy Pharah. She fell off the side of the map but was being held on until it eventually let her go !! She was able to use her jets after getting let go (but accidentally jetted up back into Mauga ult and got retethered). It seems the bottom side of the ult is the way to escape if you can fly!
Also you can get hooked out of it. Needs a 2 tank or the hog does it from above. So basically getting mauga out of his ult while your team is still stuck. Basically lifegriping the enemy tank. Probably only useful if you can hook him of the map.
I've got two for you that I noticed -Mauga can overrun out of cagefight if activated before or outside of the cage -Suzu allows you to walk out of the cage You're welcome
after testing with friends -suzu thing was maybe lucky timing with walking out, or suzu lets you walk out only during the first couple frames -mauga can escape his cage if another mauga cage intersecs with his
Here's another fun fact: When you use his ultimate, there's actually a window of time where you can use Overrun after pressing the ult button. You can't escape your own cage, but you can charge and stun someone in it if you time it correctly.
I feel like this shows that rein charge needs adjustment. It gets stopped by everything, this gets stopped by nothing. Rein should be able to charge through some things at least.
1:29 - Rein can just quicky drop his shield to stop the burning and immediately bring it back again. This is more useful against Winston/Ramattra and to a less extent Sigma's shield.

Petal platform can infect lift you out of cage fight if it is used on an elevated position that is high enough. If you get to a certian heigt the chains will break. Same works with getting low enough the chains also break, so if the cagefight is placed on a very high location you can break free of it by jumping down.
Okay, so I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, the Mauga critical damage against fortified Orisa interaction got patched out not too long after this video came out so now it's the opposite case. You can still get burned by Incendiary Chaingun but Fortify now protects you from the critical damage of the Volatile Chaingun.
Me and my friend found out that if you use cage fight and one of your teammates are Lifeweaver, Mauga can get pulled out of his own ult by him, while anyone trapped inside the cage, stays inside until they can break it.
An interesting interaction I've seen is when an enemy Mauga ults, then I use my cage fight in his and break his cage, I am no longer considered in my own cage. I don't have infinite ammo, I can use overrun, and I can just leave my cage fight.
Just a thought. Can Sym from outside the cage put her teleporter into the cage? My thought is to give your allies an escape route without putting herself in danger.

Seem's way too bustd that Reaper can't Wraith at all in it, let alone use it to escape....completely negating the entire reason it exists:; Damage negation and a means of escape, at the cost of being incorporeal & unable to do anything but moce slightly faster. Moira's Fade is exactly the same thing as Reaper's Wraith, but faster. So, same thing. It's irritating how overtuned Mauga's kit is, he doesn't need all that CC and anti-CC. Other heroes with charges all have the same forced fallover cancel when they charge at eachother, but Not Mauga. He has to gain the Anti-CC from Orisa's Fortification and no all other counter Charges. The Mofo is just running forwards....all other Chargers are being propelled in some manner. If anything, his charge should lose to the other tanks. Brig and Bob, sure. They should lose and tie respectively with Mauga's Overrun cause they are not being literally propelled by Rockets like Doom and Rein. As a counter point, the slower/"smaller" the charger is; The less they should be affected by Orisa's Fortification. Rein and Doom, knocked on thier backs taking 10% of the damage they would have delt with their charges. Bob & Mauga, just come to a dead stop with like a half second stun. Brig bounces off harmlessly, being delflected but potentially still hitting an enemy near Orisa in Fortify. Lets Orisa keep her thing, makes Doom and Rein the most effective Chargers at the cost of worse outcome if they hit Orisa. Bob and Mauga still steamroll everyone else but don't suffer too badly from Orisa's Fort. And Brig can still be pinned or punched andgets the Half second stunning dead stop from hitting a Bob or Mauga; But gets deflected rather than dead stopped by Orisa's Fortify. Honestly, thats just an off the cuff backseat game Dev'ing by me. And it's probably a terrible idea of Charge balancing for numerous reasons I can't think of or see. I'm just some opinionated shmuck on the internet spitballing ideas that are not likely to be any good really. Meh.
If anyone was curious , overrun has cc immunity meaning there is nothing in this game to stop it , except another mauga overrun, boom could have saved couple mins from the video cuz they even said it in the patch notes.
lifeweaver petal had me puzzled by its hight limit and wondered if the cage fight was on a ramp so the room was close to a ground for lifeweavers petal.

Translocator has a couple interesting interactions like the Cage Fight one. I remember I got slept but I'd already thrown the TP so I translocated basically at the same time I fell asleep.
They stated before the rework went life that Translocator now overrides CC to reward good reaction time for disengaging. Basically you can get slept, frozen, hacked, hindered, etc, and you'll tp anyway if you managed to throw it before getting CCd
Funny thing is, your own LW can lifegrip you out of your own cage fight. Once saw dude caught 3 of the squishies inside his cage and his own LW grab his ass out of his own cage. Can't imagine the team chat/coms.
There are pros and cons to that Pro: they're still trapped but can't shoot you Con: mauga loses his infinite ammo when pulled out but can get it back by walking back into the cage
Not really a huge fan of how non interactive overrun is. It just ignores every kind of obstacle, including other charges. AND it can stun people to cancel abilities/ultimates. It just seems like a power crept rein charge to me.
Hey, I'm colorblind and can't distinguish between the color of a enemy mauga in fire (from my gun), and it's healing skill... Are they different or it's only me? It's so difficult to know if I should continue the 1v1 without knowing the difference.... Thanks a lot!
If you are mauga's allies, you can still attack the enemies whether you're outside or inside cage fight But if you're mauga's enemies trying to attack him, you should be able to, considering that the cage fight's "wall" is lifted
You can actually swing out of the if you place it on a high ledge (with space under the highground like a bridge) and jump off, you sorta move like wrecking ball for a bit then it lets you go

Mauga's charge is consistent with other unstoppable/invulnerable effects.

I had 2 games as ANA and stopped Mauga’s ult with sleep dart it was incredible hard to guess when they were gonna cage fight but is possible.

Sadly Mauga is dreadful with both of them other than that small synergy, the rest of their kits are built for completely different team compositions

Horrifying fact, reaper can regen almost his entire health bar in a single shot when in cardiac overdrive

Translocator has a couple interesting interactions like the Cage Fight one. I remember I got slept but I'd already thrown the TP so I translocated basically at the same time I fell asleep.
They stated before the rework went life that Translocator now overrides CC to reward good reaction time for disengaging.
Basically you can get slept, frozen, hacked, hindered, etc, and you'll tp anyway if you managed to throw it before getting CCd

Funny thing is, your own LW can lifegrip you out of your own cage fight. Once saw dude caught 3 of the squishies inside his cage and his own LW grab his ass out of his own cage. Can't imagine the team chat/coms.
There are pros and cons to that Pro: they're still trapped but can't shoot you Con: mauga loses his infinite ammo when pulled out but can get it back by walking back into the cage

Not really a huge fan of how non interactive overrun is. It just ignores every kind of obstacle, including other charges. AND it can stun people to cancel abilities/ultimates.
It just seems like a power crept rein charge to me.
Reinhardt charge stuns on contact and will literally just kill you on impact (unless you're a tank, Bastion, or Torbjörn)

You can also boop Mauga off the map while the cage is active and it ends the ult as soon as he dies
Orisa's fortify can also escape the cage fight, it counts as a stun that the abikitg can counter

I escaped cage fight in Busan - Meka base dropping down in that vertical tunnel. A very specific situation but might save someone.

If you are mauga's allies, you can still attack the enemies whether you're outside or inside cage fight
But if you're mauga's enemies trying to attack him, you should be able to, considering that the cage fight's "wall" is lifted
