How do you know if the bricks are layed the same distance from each other (horizontally)? Is there a method or technique for beginners? I would like to build a fire pit, grill and barbeque from bricks :) Thank you in advance!

You have to use long jointer for horizontal joint. If you use long jointer all the joint straight and looks same.
