    Hi stu I am a bricklayer I use profilers every day for everything if I can. Just wanted to know why you are still building up big corners ? Cheers keep up the great work 👍🏻

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  5 років тому

      We took over this plot Alex corners were already up

    • @gobricklaying106
      @gobricklaying106 5 років тому

      Would it be best to fill in the bricks from end to end when using the profiles? Rather than raising the line for a course yet only lay the brick at the corner. Then you have to come back to fill in between, wasting time I think. Your doing the same thing twice. Am I miss understanding how it is done in your area? Just asking.You did not answer Alex Carhart question.@@Stucrompton1

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  5 років тому

      if youre talking about the video with the big corner we wanted to run the gable in but were pushed for time and had to leave so we just put the corner up, yes normally you would just put up profiles then run each course.

    Sorry for my ignorance (and my bad english), but how can you always end up with full bricks (no cuts) on one side? Calculation? Does the bricklayer do them or the architect?

    Hi Stu, I am about to build a wall out of concrete block, I went to builders merchants and all the blocks are off by a few mm, e.g 100 was 95, 140 was 137, 215 were 213, is this standard in the trade. The reason for the concern is that as I've never built a wall, when I come to do my gauge this could throw me out a bit. Do builders normally just had 12/13mm or mortar in the joints to compensate? Thanks

    Isn't there a special plastic strip made for covering the tops of brick walls during rain? If not, you need to invent it. Could be heavy reusable plastic strips about 6- 8 inches wide. Could come in 50-100 foot length rolls. Could be quickly rolled out on top and rolled back up after rain stops.
