We generally fry our cottontails slow on low heat. In northwest montana we don't have jackrabbits we have snowshoe hairs and with those I like to do a stew, if you have a beef stew recipe you like just do that with hair and its super good.
this young man reminds me so much of my grandson. he loves to hunt deer, squirrel, wild hogs, doves, and loves to fish. great video! even has same hair cut ! lol
It is a camera thing. If you film just about any LED light, they will do that. What it comes down to is the human eye is too slow to see them flicker but with newer technology cameras, they film so fast it catches it.
@@randystumpf9355 your welcome. Just one of those things I noticed a long time ago and looked into. I'm a nerd and like gaining knowledge. Another cool trick is to use your cell phone and point at the front of a remote and you can see the infrared light.
My family has been hunting rabbits with dogs since the 60s. The best recipe is a very simple one. Coat pieces with flour, salt and pepper, pan fry until light brown and then put them in a roasting pan with a little water at 275 to steam. Falls off the bone and the drippings make a great gravy for mashed potatoes.
I cook my rabbits in the slow cooker with potatoes, carrots, and onions with a garlic and herb mixture for seasoning. Throw in a bit of your favorite broth, and you've got a pot of gold.
When you cook in foil, just a tip, sear it first over open flames and get some nice crust. Baste with honey/bbq or whatever and then wrap and slow cook.
My dad used to get em every season and he would barbecue them when I was little I remember them being dry but as I got older they weren’t, I’m sure as I was little all I had as comparison was farmed meat to compare it bunnies are one of the best other white meat.. yum yum. I had to show my kids so I did it with a jack and double breaded them if you butcher them right one big jack will feed a family of four then a k straps and tender loin was huge and ALL MEAT
Another great video brother. Cant wait to see some of the turtles your gonna pull out of that trap, and how your gonna cook them. Safe travels across the big ponds, good luck in Africa. #eatgood
mullet man saw your dashboard lights flickering in your pickup got a bad wire Haha aways nice trap hopefully you can get rid of those turtle's eat good 🤙🤙
Ok. I had to come back to see this video again I have a ton of turtles in my pond here in Granbury Texas you should come help a brother out. It would be cool to do a vid with you haven't seen you since Googan HQ . Always enjoy your content bro Thanx for idea
Is it better to use a meat tenderizer on "wild" meats? Also, I don't know if it's true but is it better to put the meat on the shinier side of the foil and have the more dull side facing out when it's wrapped up and cooking? I heard this on one channel (I think DeerMeatForDinner but not positive) but haven't heard or seen other channels do it or talk about it, from what I can remember they said it helps with the heat and the reflection of the heat.
Are cottontail rabbits in season in Texas. Here in NC its only in later winter. Plus they have wobbles in the summer. Just curious . Good luck in Africa bud. EAT GOOD...
Hey man I was wondering the sauce you were trying to think of was it Worcestershire sauce and by the way love the video it was enjoyable I've only ever eaten rabbit once and it wasn't that great so got any tips to make it taste better and what ways I should cook it
This is a Portuguese rabbit recipe, my parents use to cook it all the time 2 1⁄2 lbs rabbit 1 (12 ounce) bottle beer (I use Molson Canadian) or 1 white wine 6 garlic cloves, minced 1 cup parsley, chopped 2 teaspoons paprika 1 bay leaf 1 tablespoon piri-piri (sauce) 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 large onion, chopped 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 1 cup parboiled rice
those digital displays refresh the image several times per second, faster than humans can see, but a camera can catch it and it looks like they're blinking. it happens with almost all recordings of digital displays.
Angel is such a cool wife! I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't film me hunting anything. She didn't like the idea of deer. But she ate it! Thinking about starting a channel for Florida catch and cook. Is it worth the money for equipment to film?
That’s a rabbit Mullet Man, not “shit” lmao *17:30* Good luck in Africa my dude! Come visit me in Ohio on your way back for some Erie eyes! Safe travels!
I like how you bought a ten foot piece of pipe and cut four three foot pieces lol

Great video. Buy the infused olive oil now. Blinking stove time agitated my ol' lady too. Ha.
Sweet trap! One Suggestion for longevity, replace zip ties with metal wire so UV won't degrade them and turtles won't bite through.
Do y’alls Texas rabbits get worms in the summer? Down here in Florida we only eat rabbits in the winter
I cook my rabbits in the slow cooker with potatoes, carrots, and onions with a garlic and herb mixture for seasoning. Throw in a bit of your favorite broth, and you've got a pot of gold.
You should try it baked, with some white rice and cream of mushroom mixed then throw it in a pan put it In the oven and melt cheese over top of it
I’ve did rabbit fajitas over the fire pit while camping turned out awesome.
It will definitely work....... takes a couple days for them to get used to it being in the water.
Oh man! I'm hungry now. Grew up hunting rabbit & squirrel. Definitely want to see you do a rabbit & dumplins video!
When you cook in foil, just a tip, sear it first over open flames and get some nice crust. Baste with honey/bbq or whatever and then wrap and slow cook.
Awesome tip on how to gut the rabbit!

At 8:30 the dash lights look like they are glitching out like crazy...nice trap tho I like it
So is rabbit fever just a myth? Cause I’ve always heard you shouldn’t eat rabbits till after the first frost? Or is that just me?
Btw put mustard, black pepper, and critter glitter on your ribs when you grill them. It is actually pretty good you should try it.
mullet man saw your dashboard lights flickering in your pickup got a bad wire Haha aways nice trap hopefully you can get rid of those turtle's eat good 🤙🤙
Its flashing because the dash is led. They flash but normally cant be seen with the naked eye but shows up on camera.
👍
Effin' cool turtle trap man. Might be trapping my dinner in one of those sometime around early November 2020. Seriously, nice design!

Well, I guess you've answered the question of who wins the race - the turtle or the hare...
Love your vids, bud!

What kind of gun is it ????is it air soft?
I thought you couldn’t eat cotton tails in Texas because of parasites. We ate them in Colorado after a good freeze. Is that not true?
My boi the mullet maaannnnnn!!!!!!! The only Texas man with the bestest plannnnn!!!! Lmao 😂😂😂
What's up with your speedometer and stuff
Where’d you get that gun from? Where can I get one?

Hey bud, that plywood is going to rot lol. Use plexiglas or acrylic wrapped with astroturf, I know it cost more but it will last longer.
Which air rifle was used?
Like the gutting tip. Hadn't seen that. One of the best catch cook clean channels. Keep it up!!
