Just as an FYI to anyone watching, i'm not sure how widespread the "light key pressing" issue is. But i have the optical blue switch board with rgb and i don't have this issue at all. I can rest my fingers on the board and i don't have any ghost typing or accidental presses, the actuation is precise and predictable on my board. I am extremely happy with the purchase. I use this board at work and the Logitech G915 TKL with Logi White Switches at home. Boards are very different but i love them both.

Hey Curious! I’m actually really considering getting the exact same board as u (K3 V2 with optical hot swappable brown switches)! Do u recommend it? How did the brown switches turn out, any distinct problems with having a low profile board, any other important findings you have that u could possibly share with me? This would be my first mechanical keyboard so I’m super excited to get one but at the same time want to make sure I’m getting a good one. Sorry if this is a lot to ask of u but want to get someone’s real opinion before I go ahead and get it :)

A thin-and-lightweight keyboard isn't ever going to feel solid like a tank. If you want tank-like, Keychron also make those, but then you've got something less portable. Choose your poison.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with ABS plastic keycaps. The legends won't wear off. Yeah, it gets shiny after it has been used a while. ABS is a traditional material for keycaps, and everybody knows it gets shiny with use. I think it's okay for a used keyboard to look like it's been used.

  • @Estebanpueblos

Also the early key registrations should have been more emphasized/analysed (It's hot swap after all, take a look!). It's most probably a design flaw and not only your unit (to short distance of the center poles to the laser beams?)

  • @masaytaka
    @masaytaka 2 роки тому +3

Keyboard layout and software WARNING! There is a "Fn" key in the place of right "Alt". What's worse is that it CANNOT BE REMAPPED FOR some reason... So for anyone who needs right "Alt" to enter special characters in your alphabet, I wouldn't recommend this keyboard.
It's a pitty because the hardware is excellent. Seriously, I wasn't expecting such nice looks, heft, design and satin finish of the keycaps. The switches sound excellent and the tactile feedback is on point. All this amazing hardware experience makes the right "Alt" issue the more frustrating.

Didn't pay attention to that when ordering my K3v2 german layout. Together with the much too sensitive red switches this keyboard is barely usable. With the german layout most programmers regularily need the right option key for square and curly brackets.

Personally I don't get why eveyrone seems to say low profile boards are more ergonomic though. The way I sit by a desk laidback in a gaming chair, my arms are tilted slightly upwards. The perfect fit in my case is a slightly tall normal profile board raised to the highest out of 3 angles. I do like the K3 though. Low profile keys can be pretty great once you get used to the lighter and shorter activation, but there was quite a steep learning curve for me trying to adjust to not bottoming out with low profile clicky keys.

Optical are better for gamers as they actuate quicker, but unless youre a pro, you probably wont even have the reflexes to notice a difference. Optical are also hot swappable and are rated for 100m clicks, gateron are rated for 50m clicks, but thats by no means "little".
Imo, gateron are great and will do just fine. I also prefer the tactile browns, but this is preference, to each his own.

Hi! I see you have an Xbox also (saw the controller). Can you please confirm if this keyboard works on the Xbox Series X too? I'm on a Mac, and I'm looking for a new keyboard that I can use for work and for Xbox gaming with mouse and keyboard support. I see you can plug it in with USB-C, so it should work on Xbox. If it does, I'll buy it.

I am so disappointed by keychron and my experience trying to purchase the Q2 65% board. I purchased this keyboard only to have keychron reach out to me, days later, and ask for an additional $31 for delivery, apparently DHL charged them more than what was agreed upon and paid by me at the time of purchase. Beyond disappointed they decide to penalize me, the customer, rather than simply fix this for future sales to my region. I will never try to purchase a keychron product again.

I made the mistake of buying a Keychron K7. What I received was NOT wireless (no dongle included) and, when connected by USB cable, many keys did not work. Keychron ignored all my requests for an RMA and a refund.
Before buying anything from Keychron, think! Do you want to give your money to a company that treats its customers this way?

The only problem is that there is no comparison with other good keyboard. I compare with Lenovo Thinkpad keyboard.
    I am extremely disappointed.
    1. The K3 does not have keys at the same level horizontally. Each row is higher than the previous row. This stops my fingers to glide from one key to another key as I am used to on the Thinkpad keyboard. It takes extra effort to lift the fingers and I often get resistance from the sharp edges of the upper keys.
    2. Another problem is the backlight key in the top corner. I accidentally press it 1000 times a day which changes the RGB pattern I like. This key should in the back of the keyboard. Its just stupid idea. There is a key shortcut to lock the key, but I still think this is a waste of the key.
    3. Overall its easier to type on the Lenovo Thinkpad keyboard. In addition the Thinkpad keyboard has trackpad which is great for quick mouse pointer adjustments while typing.
    4. The battery last about 2 days. I don't have to recharge my Lenovo Thinkpad keyboard for weeks.
    5. Extremely slow Bluetooth reconnect. It seems its trying mutliple times to connect and it can take 10+s to connect. This is very annoying. Lenovo Thinkpad takes 1-3 seconds to connect.
    6. Not sure about thinkpad keyboard latency for gaming in comparison to K3.
K3 is not a bad keyboard, but its not polished. There are many significant issue which will bug you everyday.
The presenter in the video is either not honest or he never used a good keyboard and is not able to compare the features.

I can confirm that the keys do register before the tactile bump (optical brown). But from what I've noticed, it only happens on some keys for me.
On another note, doing the o-rings mod makes it feel more like a membrane keyboard, which I oddly prefer more as it has a softer click.

removing the springs of the keys solves the activation before tactile bump problem, but it is tedious.
